Reviews of Oh Yeah Music Centre
S. C.
So happy to find this place, with the 6 degrees of seperation on the rock and roll family tree. The rain in 'Belly' is better than Manchester so the music should by right be better, so too the revolutionary spirit ;)
I visited Oh Yeah 3 times, the place certainly has a magic to it. The exhibition features real gems, from Divine Comedy, to Therapy, I got really excited about seeing a flyer from a gig I went to and was involved with in a display case, ahh to have collected something culturally significant. Didn't see enough about ASH or Snow Patrol (?).
There was nobody during the day to work the bar or serve a coffee, (any excuse to hang out.) The sound engineer was far too much of a tis with cables for a gig, the lady at reception didn't seem to be as enthusiastic about the music and had no interest to chew the fat about music, nobody could tell me about rehersal space or jamming at the venue.
They run 'Over the Hill' for older musicians, dare say according to Ed Sheeran fans this is anyone over 30 not 70 or who remember KT Tunstall :D What I am saying is the demographic from 30 & up still values music and wants to get connected.
Give me job here I would help bottle the lighting.

I enjoyed a great gig. The sound system was great and the stage was large enough for the bands to fully express themselves.
W. M.
Great venue, friendly staff with lots of music history in one place. Seating area for cafe is appreciated and the sound stage area is loud enough for the gig goers to get the experience but not isolating those who are at the cafe area and want to chat but not have to yell.
J. F.
Great venue, performed here with my choir. Great sound people and staff were friendly and lovely.

How was my experience?
I work there. I love the music, the people the community spirit the music memorabilia, the history everything.
No joke. Not being paid to say this.
More people should check it out and keep it open

This was my first time here and it won't be my last. It is an excellent music venue with super friendly and helpful staff.
H. C.
Great Music centre supporting local musicians. It has wonderful displays of memorabilia of these artists such as Van Morrison, Henry McClough etc. And has music gigs in their main room. 👌🎸🎶
J. K.
Inspirational, empowering through historical information and archives on music in Belfast and Northern Ireland at large.
A. B.
DJ was really good and staff really nice too. Nice little memorabilia section
R.
Incredibly helpful staff who helped me enjoy one of their many events even with my additional needs
j. F.
Great venue for live music just be prepared to stand as not many seats
D. T.
Had such an amazing time at this venue during the Superfly Funk and Soul show, the intimate atmosphere added so much to the music. It was really cool to see the Belfast music exhibits around the walls before the music started (especially the SLF and Defects stuff), but once the DJ sets started it was immediately clear why they chose that venue. A great night

me and my friend accidentally purchased fake tickets, but the staff where genuinely so helpful and friendly about the situation and ended up letting us purchase new tickets and got us in no problem. sound quality was amazing and had such a good night over all :)

Great displays of NI musicians and practice rooms/studios
P. D.
First time here to see Alejandro Escovedo and Don Antonio band. Small vibrant venue with seating and a well stocked bar and friendly staff. Excellent gig.
D. F.
Great little Location with a lovely Exhibition of local musicians memorabilia.
R. W.
A terrific overview of Belfast's rich musical history despite a very absent staff.
S. P.
Great little venue with some cool quotes and memoribilia from the Northern Irish music scene.
C. M.
A gem of a space. Run by superheroes and nice folk.
D. J.
Very nice memorabilia relating to Northern Ireland's musical heritage. Interesting reads and photos along the walls. Great facility for local bands, and for locals in general eg music markets. Convenient to plenty of good bars/cafes/restaurants in the Cathedral Quarter so drop in and support the venue and the good things its doing for Northern Ireland music.

Called in for a coffee whilst walking in the area. Would recommend, nice little exhibition of music.
S. C.
A super cool centre set in the heart of Belfast City Centre where art exhibitions, musical artists, talks and a warm, welcoming hall where so much takes place. I can highly recommend it for the music scene, especially Back Tracks where we can all dance to fantastic music in a centre where you can relax, sing, dance or have a glass of wine. I would encourage one and All to visit!

Vital hub for music in Belfast. Gigs with bar. Outreach and community events with drop-in museum. Find out what NI music is all about here.
S. G.
Great venue for local talent with other functions including start together studios, practice rooms and various other offices. It has 2 practice rooms that are both fairly cheap and they have drum kits, plenty of amps, keyboard stands, PA systems and mics that do the job really well.
C. M.
Cosy venue with bar and a lot of local Belfast Rock and roll memorabilia displayed attractively in presentation cases. The venue would hold about 150 people though it was pretty hot when I was there. Not really an easy place to find, unless you have good directions.
Lots of other things to do in the lively Cathedral quarter. There is convenient parking nearby alongside the MAC.

Myself and a friend have been hiring a practice room here so we can play music together, and it's a fantastic spot for a very reasonable price. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the whole place has a relaxed and artistic feel to it.
O. C.
Book a tour with Paul. He went out of his way to show our family all the interesting stories behind Belfast music. His passion is contagious. The centre is fulfulling a valuable role in empowering and supporting young upcoming musicians. Paul's work among dimentia sufferers is inspiring.
M. B.
Amazing intimate live music venue. Great place to check out local bands and artists. Has a full bar. Sometimes holds daytime events/arts based things. You can rent the space too.
P. C.
My friends use this for their recording studio, it's a great venue and has great people working for it. They've always used niall who really puts passion into his work and knows how to get the very best out of the band.
A. D.
Nice venue for gigs, cool memorabilia on show too
B. B.
Too warm and crowded. No where to sit.
P. F.
Was most wonderful night with the legend Terry spitting out the tunes.
Had the best night after the stiff little fingers and icing on the cake the legend Terry was putting out the tunes!
PIL was on when I walked in I knew I was in for a treat

Great N.Ireland Music History 🎶
A. T.
nice resume of those Ulster people who've made their mark on popular music in the past 60 years but where was Belfast born Ronnie Carroll?
Ronnie did have 7 top 10 hits you know , not only that he was married to Millicent martin who was the epitome of cool in the early 60s.
Also Ronnie stood for the ''make politicians history '' party in the last UK election which makes him a helluva lot cooler than any other irish musician if you ask me.
M.
I can't really say much about this place as i was there for the first time today for one of the quarterly record fairs. The room appeared functional but a little barren and there was a coffee bar serving adequate coffee.
A. R.
Lovely place, great staff happy to help. Musical ambiance which makes this place more special
R. S.
Vinyl record sale, plenty of sellers and a wide range of genres. Prices start at £1 and are wide ranging depending on the rarity. Just a pity that the lighting is so poor in some areas.
A. T.
Small but well curated exhibition of Northern Irish music. Some great artefacts,. Punk stuff mainly. Also a venue for live music and a bar. Free entry to exhibition 👍
P. K. (.
This building alone will be responsible for a major shift in the music scene in Northern Ireland. Big things are coming and this great wee practice space is contributing massively to that
B. d.
Yeo magazine nights are special
A. C.
Much to say but I will restrict myself to saying that the permanent exhibition on the history of the Northern Ireland music scene is unrivalled.
N. M.
Brilliant venue!
J. H.
Beautiful venue, loved the photos and images on the walls, a relaxing, enjoyable place with exceptional music
B. H.
This place was really cool. Went to the Nashville in Belfast event. Had a blast.
M. M. H.
Oh! Good place for fun and enjoy. Can be partying, taking photos, opportunity for music, concert, have kids space!
M. D.
It was a bit too expensive to get in, but the atmosphere was perfect. You could feel the 60s in the air and, more importantly, on the floor.
P. H.
Took my son in for a visit. Anyone with a love of music and supporting local bands should not miss out.
R. H.
