Reviews of Ulster Hall

My first live concert experience was here at the Ulster Hall, saved pocket money for weeks to go to see/hear Rory Gallagher - 1974. Last night watching the Floyd play their best material with lighting and film backdrops to match, pure uplifting magic!
G. I.
Great venue! Stunning vintage decor. As we were there for a gig it was hard to see at first but the organ at the back was incredible. Staff were very polite and efficient.
E. M.
It is a nice place but the toilets smell and need to let people know where the cubicles are in gents
Plus no lemon for G&T
e. b.
Went to see Mitski and it was such a great venue for her to play at. Bar and toliets are easily accessible and drinks aren't too expensive, security staff are nice and don't bosh you about, had an issue with my ticket scanning and they helped me fix it without getting frustrated. Concert started on time too :)
J. R.
Went here on Sunday night with my wife and daughter ❤️ for a concert with the Ultimate Eagles.Walking in to the venue you could feel the atmosphere building 🤠.Our seats were up in the balcony overlooking the stage, what a perfect spot. When the band came on to play the place erupted in cheering and clapping. This was our forth time seeing the group , What a fantastic night of Eagles music, these guys are up there with the best. If you get a chance to hear these guys don't pass it by , it will live with you for ever Can't wait till next year to hear them again.😃

Radio 3 were doing a recording and free tickets were available. Nice and relaxing and different. Remember ... CoVid vaccination certificate. About 20% full.. approx 250 seats
E. A.
Great historical venue, would just say if you're going to a seated event to try and get the balcony seats. Each row is higher than the other so you can see better! If you're small like me and you're seated behind someone you have to look from side to side.
C. H.
Was here for the Fabulous Eddi Reader Concert - Great Concert - Excellent Venue - Sound in The Ulster Hall is 100% PER ER ER ER ERECT!
M. H.
Great gig last night. Belinda Davids tribute to Whitney Houston. A superb vocalist. We had seats that were 4 rows from front. Venue is a bit dated but then it's meant to be. Characterful. But what a show
R. B.
Excellent sound and friendly staff. We went to see Sparks and it really was a night to remember. Great atmosphere and you could hear everything so clearly without it being overly loud. Highly recommended.
M. S.
A great venue for a Concert, especially where I was sitting, high up. The Ultimate Eagles were amazing. On a different note the toilets are terribly old fashioned, with only urinals and no cubicles which is frustrating.
T. P.
Attended our first show in over two years. My beloved suffered a tweaked back a day before the event. We needed to have seats rather than the standing tickets allocated. Staff could not have been more helpful and arranged a couple of seats upstairs. E collect show from Tom Odell, also his first gig in two years. We'll done all concerned.
L. L.
Great venue. Always a pleasure to use it. The bar is much improved. Why don't you get Harlem to open for afterwards? It would be nice.
T. D.
Beautiful venue, full of historical significance. Attended a choral /orchestral concert and the performances, sound and lighting were perfect.
G. M.
Being a Liverpool supporter bit reticent to go see Salford-born Jason Manford given that he was born without a soul. Happy to say he surpassed expectations and his knowledge of NI was surpringly good. Would definitely go again.

As ever an excellent place to see bands. Went to see Supergrass and they did not fail. The Ulster hall is the perfect venue. The sound quality is excellent.Toilets are plenty and clean. There is plenty of security so no nonsense. Had a great night. Sorry about the blurry photo l.
A. M.
Always enjoy going to the Ulster Hall. Great concerts. Great place.
W. M.
We went to see Reginald D Hunter with his support act Karl Spain. Reg was good, very funny if a little nervous or hesitant? Still a great comedian with a really sick wit that hit the mark. Maybe someone told him to be careful what jokes he did??? Maybe he was nervous about offending us??? Next time let us have it Reg, we can take it :) get that new show polished up and come back again. Karl Spain was great too, I cant believe I've never seen him perform before. He surely didn't worry about upsetting us though :) thanks to both of you for a good night out.
C. C.
Great night seeing Psychic Sally. Venue well run. Food and drink not too expensive
E. U.
Great venue, please beware the bars do not except cash..
C. W.
Ulster Hall is often home to the Ulster Orchestra as well as all sorts of other events and concerts.
You can just pop in - they have a small corridor of art and public toilets on the ground floor.
The events I go to are wide and varied from celebrating Chinese New Year to lunch time recitals. I also often get free tickets from BBC tickets and shows - you simply visit their website and apply for tickets and they operate a lottery allocation.
Inside the Ulster Hall for recitals my favourite seating is upstairs, there is a large organ and the decor is ornate - as my inside photos show
M. R.
Excellent venue for music , no matter where you stand you can see the whole stage
L. P.
Beautiful building. Staff friendly. Toilets clean. Seating great.bar... bit expensive.
W. S.
Great nights entertainment, the acoustics in the ulster Hall are fantastic.
R. M.
Such a beautiful grand building. An amazing place to see gigs. Massive organ (ooer). Lovely colours.
C. G.
Atmosphere is great in this theatre, felt like I was in the 1900's. Concert was fantastic too.
R. M.
Great venue for music
I. U.
The Ulster Hall is a lovely historic building and a great venue for a gig as it's quite small and the atmosphere is intimate. I have went to gigs here since the 1970's Punk era during the troubles when many bands would not play in N.Ireland. Thanks to the few venues like the Ulster Hall which would facilitate local Punk bands we were able not only to produce home grown bands but ultimately Ulster Punk was to go on and influence the UK and World music scene with the likes of The Undertones and Stiff Little Fingers. The Stranglers were one UK band that did play here and I recently went to see their return gig after a gap of over 40 years. The Ulster Hall is the BEST VENUE FOR ANYONE WHO IS DISABLED AND STAFF GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO TREAT YOU LIKE ROYALTY RATHER THAN AN INCONVENIENCE AS OTHER VENUES.
J. C.
What a great night . Well done midland you where amazing
C. M.
Very nice evening had here. Staff were lovely and seating is comfortable.
K. A.
Very wheelchair friendly, lovey staff. Great night out

Atmosphere is great in this theatre, felt like I was in the 1900's. Concert was fantastic too.
S. B.
Seats were a bit sore after a while but brilliant show
E. M.
Had a great night seeing The High Kings for the first time.

Beautiful building great music and a brilliant atmosphere.
L. L.
Great venue acoustics were wonderful and of course Ricky Ross and the devine ms Macintosh brilliant show!
A. S.
Ulster Orchestra playing Mendelssohn in Italy 🇮🇹. I like the place as seating is spacious and the acoustic is good.
C. B.
2 nights in 1 week at the Ulster hall , great atmosphere, staff very friendly, midge ure & bowie experience both great concerts 🎤🎶
G. D.
First time in the Ulster Hall for Gabrielle concert has great time only downfall would be bar facilities not much option when it came to choices (No Guinness) and other 2 options + the bar closed when main performance came on stage . Other than that we'd a good night . I will be back for more concerts in the future .
C. C.
Lively music. So good to be back. It feeds my soul.
B. D.
Could do with a lick of paint, but a great venue!
P. C.
Great, still a great place, hope it's kept going.
S. R.
A great, intimate venue that supports local artists. Pleasant staff and slick organisation.
C. M.
Very nice evening had here. Staff were lovely and seating is comfortable.
M. M.
The Ulster Hall is beautiful and Jake Bugg who was playing there was superb
S. B.
Seats were a bit sore after a while but brilliant show
J. M.
Fantastic, beautiful venue with amazing acoustics!
J. A.
Nice and simply set up, lots of staff and great organisation good venue for concerts
K. A.
Very wheelchair friendly, lovey staff. Great night out
g. s.
Beautiful building great music and a brilliant atmosphere.
J. A.
Beautiful building with epic accoustics for concerts with kick ass sound systems to boot. The drink prices are extortionate though so be sure to bring some plastic.
P. D.
Show was very good the music and singing was great thank you .
J. R.
Been to a few gigs here. Such a great place with good staff
E. M.
Had a great night seeing The High Kings for the first time.
N. W.
Very clean and spacious, fantastic sound from the massive organ.
M. D.
Great venue Very pleasant staff
J. C.
We were right at the front - plenty of room to dance, in fact by the end of the night I think half the audience were up! Good, clear sound - the band were great. Staff exceptionally friendly & drink prices not too bad. Modern toilets BUT, like most places, need more ladies cubicles. Great night.
C. L.
Love coming here good location and listening to some lovely music playing. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
J. F.
Mary Black - great show at The Ulster Hall.
M. H. M.
Excellent evening and the staff were excellent. So helpful and welcoming. Made sure I was comfortable before the performance and ensured I had everything I needed at the interval.
S. M.
Great sound quality and great venue
R. O.
Great venue and Ulster Orchestra are excellent
F. C.
Not the most comfortable seating but the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The Simon and Garfunkel show was great. Two really excellent singers and the harmony, that was something else. The singers were as fresh and sharp from beginning to end. Their timing was perfect. Well done. We really enjoyed the evening.
k. k.
I attend BBC Promo Classical Music Live concert. It's nice place to go if you got a chance to get a tickets.
J. C.
What a great night . Well done midland you where amazing
N. M. (. M. B.
This is the home of The Ulster Orchestra and is a great venue for their concerts. The acoustic is probably one of the best in the UK for orchestral concerts. I wish that they would remove the huge speakers at the side of the stage which prevent hundreds of concert goers from seeing much of the orchestra. Also if the seat beside the wall in each row was removed, it would allow latecomers to get to their seats with less disruption. Otherwise great!
J. M.
Beautiful moderate size venue for concerts/shows
C. H.
Great spot. Obviously the level of enjoyment depends highly on your chosen show. As for the venue, it is clean and well maintained the concert chairs are well spaced and very comfortable compared to some. The bar is a tad expensive (£4.40 for a 330ml bottle of beer) and drinks aren't allowed to be consumed upstairs. The staff are very friendly and it was an overall good experience.
G. S.
Great concert in this place.
Y. s. W.
What a gem, even a free tour. Absolutely stunning!
M. M. M.
So I genuinely saw Mr. Milton Jones, at this venue!
P. O.
Great spot for a concert, seated balcony area was really well laid out and seats were comfortable. Great views no matter where you are plus sound is excellent. Decent bar and prices are reasonable and at times better when compared to other bars and venues in Belfast.
D. C.
Played a show here on 23rdJan 2020 and I'd have to say it's amongst the top venues we've ever had the pleasure of performing in. I always knew it was a fantastic venue from going to see other bands, comics and shows but you really appreciate the whole experience when you're on the performing end. 5 BIG STARS ✨ ✨✨✨✨
i. a.
Super accoustics, seats were comfortable and the atmosphere was excellent.
While the Staff were very helpful, I feel they could have been deployed more effectively to show people to the correct seats.
Biggest complaint was that having been e-mailed 24 hours previously that the doors would open at 18:30 and invited us to enjoy a drink in the "bars"; the doors opened late and the downstairs bar did not open, while the upstairs bar was indeed open and well staffed. There was a singular lack of chairs, tables and not conducive to a relaxed atmosphere. The bulk of the audience were elderly, many of whom were using walking sticks, walking aids etc. Needs to be addressed URGENTLY unless you want to be compared to Belfast International Airport!
a. h.
Great and fantastic venue for all type of music... Especially for classic.
M. G.
A little small, but overall a good venue. Tends to get a little packed for events but concerts, both classical and other, suit the smaller venue really well. Make the whole thing feel more personal. Staff are very friendly but perhaps a little unknowledgeable. But I feel like that's more on the huge amount of events that it holds rather than on the staff themselves.
A. a. K. N.
Needed a second mortgage to pay for the warm beer served in cans
P. M.
Didn't find the acoustics very good in the upper tier.
F. C.
Fantastic venue for comedy, music or combat. Bar staff are fast and professional
S. K.
Great location and atmosphere for a concert.
k. s.
I really love this as music venue sound is great and big and small bands play. I seen a few comedy acts there now and seats are ok best part is you can always she the act and the building is one that stands out in belfast.
R.
Grade A listed building situated in Bedford Street in Belfast City. It was built in 1859, designed by William J Barre (who also built The Albert Clock). It opened in 1862.
The Belfast City Council bought it for £13,500.
During World War 2 it was used as a dance hall for the American troops entertainment and has been used as a public hall ever since.
It was renovated in 2009.
The Ulster Hall has had many famous bands play in it:
*The Rolling Stones, 1964
*Led Zepplin, 1971
*AC/DC, 1979
*Metallica and Anthrax, 1986
*Slayer, 1988 and 1994
*Muse, 2015
Im sure there's been plenty more but these are the bands I know of.
H. T.
Great night seeing Gabrielle. Nice size of venue. Good crowd control etc.
E. O. D.
The best venue in the north of Ireland for seeing a good band!
C. C.
At tom grennan concert and the place was so alive
G. M.
Attended a charity comedy night. Really enjoyed it. Friendly and helpful staff. Always a great venue. Beautiful old building right in the centre of Belfast. Loads of good places to eat nearby, many with pre- theatre deals. Definitely recommend.
j. g.
Very friendly and helpful staff and clean and tidy.
A. M. a.
Great place for music we saw,ABBA tribute
R. M.
Brillant nite my sister and I enjoyed it staff very helpful and kind I would go back again beautiful place
D. K.
Nice clean venue..that's where the good ends. balcony seats are NOT worth the full money as you get a limited view then the sound system...THEE worst I've heard in 40 years of concert going. it's not a venue for concerts.
R. L.
Was there to see Kathy McAleer knock her gloves around. Staff were great. Poor choice in beer (not really beer) but we didn't go for the drink. Beautiful venue in great nick. Have a drink before you go then after.
D. S.
Brilliant venue, well organised re tickets, seats, assistance, etc. Bit of a wait outside before the start, but just chatted to others waiting.. Concert itself was fantastic, kids junior Orchestra, again really well organised, kids behaved impeccably, so professional for their young age. I'll definitely be back!!
n. c.
Love this venue, always feels intimate gig no matter where in the hall you are plus the accessibility is fantastic
e. m.
Great evening did not Get off to a great start tickets indicated 6 .30 start started at 7.30 so we were 1 hour early concert was excellent sound however could have been better accompanying music drowned out the vocalists shame
W. B.
Beautiful venue, seats on the balcony are fantastic great view of the stage, the bar is well staffed, good choice of drinks, prices are the norm, 4 bottles of beer £15, staff are very welcoming and helpful. Been going to this venue for over 25 years a real credit to the city of Belfast.
m. m.
Great atmosphere nice sound
K. L.
Love it. They have done it up great 👍
G. B.
Excellent seeing Flash Harry absolutely fantastic
S. F.
I go to see the ulster orchestra here and it's always a pleasure. Beautiful surroundings (especially the organ) and seats are comfy.
The cafe / bar is very pricy and its products limited but the coffee is nice.
P. G.
A historic building in the city. A recent refurbishment has made it even better. Improved facilities. Wonderful interior. Fantastic sound. Good sightlines for all even if the capacity remains quite small. A great venue for all types of show. Plaques in the entrance hall for acts such as Rory Gallagher and Led Zeppelin. Well worth a visit.
C. L.
Fantastic place for an intimate concert, beautiful decor and friendly staff.
G. M.
Good acoustics and works well as a concert venue. The catering and associated services are clearly inadequate however - e.g. £4.50 for a warm beer in a plastic bottle. Not good enough.
s.
Was very pleasantly surprised that there was some drinks deals. Even with that the drinks a snacks were reasonably priced. Staff are super friendly. Queue moved fast. The atmosphere is always good at the Ulster Hall.
J. C.
Fantastic night.
Went to see Mary Black good intertainment. 🤗
A. M.
Honestly, the feeling of this place is great. It goes for a more simple aesthetic than what you may find right around the corner at the Grand Opera House but I like it. The Comedian I went to see was also hilarious
A. K.
Fantastic venue. Really good accoustics. Some of the seats on the ground floor have an obstructed view but if you get tickets for the top floor you will have no problem. Parking around Dublin road / Ormeau road isn't too far to walk.
E. F.
Great intimate venue for gigs. Sound is only, better to be in the middle of the hall. Drink prices are comparable to the rest of Belfast. Friendly staff.
B. 2.
Great acoustics but if you sit in first 4 or 5 rows on ground level (Section A), the stage is too high to see anything. Plus, parking nearby is an absolute nightmare!
M. H.
Went tonight to watch give my head peace. Great venue for these sorts of shows because of the size of it. Staff were friendly and helpful
A. N.
This is a hall owned by Belfast City Council. It is used for a variety of activities. Historically, this is where the famous Ulster Covenant was signed by Edward Carson. As a result of this, it was deemed the most appropriate venue to stage boxing matches and many a great fight has been seen here. It has been the prime venue from musical concerts in Belfast. No genre is excluded, professional or amateur, all are welcome. The use for concerts was somewhat curtailed by the councils decision to build The Waterfront Hall at the Lagan. Up until refurbishment works, it was also home to the Group Theatre, accessed via a barely discernable door located in a recess at the front of the building. The Group was made famous by the inimitable James Young, the much beloved comic who's observations and humour helped Northern Ireland survive the darkest days of the Troubles. There is much history associated with this building and is worth a look. There is one peculiarity. During the refurbishment works, the gents toilets were renovated without sit down bogs. Maybe worth a visit.
S. H.
Best venue in Belfast for a concert. The sound is perfect the staff are very friendly and helpful....We have always had good night's in the venue . Super place for creating great memories. 11 outa 10. Thankyou.
A. R.
Security roll in to stop people holding up a lighter during a slow song but don't bother when people are openly taking drugs. Bar is meh and over priced too. Sound wasn't great but that is likely the fault of the band rather than the venue
G.
Fantastic music and event venue, bit let down by prices for n bar. Was at the Power of Video Belfast and went to buy a quick snack , SMALL bottle of diet can be and packet of crisps £3.85, thought was a bit much. Captive audience held a little to ransom
I. D.
We were at the Ulster Hall tonight to see the fabulous William Caulfield perform a brand new set for his 'Our William' tour 2020. Some of the original James Young characters got an airing tonight and they didn't disappoint. The Ulster Hall is the best backdrop to a bygone era of local humour which saw us laugh in some of the darkest days. Oh, and my aunt Joan near fell off her seat!
K. C.
Super venue. Went to see Alter Bridge play here
A. P.
Great venue for acoustics and entertainment, regardless whether you visit for live music, comedy, speaker event etc. Ground floor can be made suitable for seating or standing. Helpful staff.
D. H.
A great venue for concerts. Watched the brilliant CBSM summer concert, fantastic entertainment for only £10. Amazing young talent in a Fab building.
R. D.
Nicely renovated venue but every time I go the performances are very echoed. (Mastodon and Foil, arms and hog.)
Confections are incredibly overpriced but convenient area for travelling to and from with shops and restaurants close by. Staff are friendly and patient.
K. W.
The Ulster Hall staff were amazing last night at Hozier. As one of my sister's was unable to go I decided to bring my 10 year old daughter who is a big fan. I phoned a day or two before the gig to check if this was ok. On arrival a security guard said he would need to check if it was ok to bring her in, this was very politely done. We were then passed to the box office staff who advised that she was too small to go into the standing area. Within 5 minutes she was being treated like a VIP and we were escorted to the 'house' seats at the back of the balcony area. It was perfect, a great view and we could dance without disturbing anyone.
In addition, between the support act (the awesome Ruthanne) and Hozier we were all evacuated due to a fire alarm. Staff and fire service were amazing and we were all back in about 20 minutes later after an interesting version of Bohemian Rhapsody sung by all the audience as we waited.
J. S.
Very nice building and acoustics within. However, the drinks bar was VERY EXPENSIVE I bought a Diet Coke 500ml bottle for £2.65 and he took the bottles lid for some unknown reason.
G. H.
Hugely great and popular for gigs and events. Sound quality amazing courtesy of The Stranglers last night and Metallica over 30 years ago. Well done Ulster Hall 🎆
J. C.
Nice venue but only balcony seats can be booked. An early arrival is important for a decent ground floor seat. Some of the balcony seats have a poor view. Look at seating plans before booking. There are surrounding parking places.
D. M.
Great venue. Recently watched a boxing match here and more recently saw Ruby Wax. A flexible and versatile venue. Friendly staff, great waiting area out front.
S. F.
Great to be at a comedy show after 18 months of madness, Neil Delamere didn't disappoint
L. B.
A bit hard to see the stage from further back but a very nice building.
J. C.
Lovely venue. Beautiful building, small enough to be intimate & good view from most seats (some have restricted viewing due to posts).
A. S.
Beautiful theatre, murals, architectural details. Didn't attend a concert, just stopped in while in Belfast because of Led Zepplin & 1st performance of Stairway to Heaven.
M. S.
Fantastic venue I've been to a few gigs and stand up shows here .always pulls a good crowd ,and reasonable bar prices
P. G.
The Ulster Hall was great, content of show hilarious but could cut down on the language a bit.
Hall itself is beautiful but seating is
Rather uncomfortable not enough space between them . Staff very helpful
P. V.
Beautiful building. Nice staff, helpful directing us arriving.
A. T.
Staff are brilliant here . Really professional and courteous. The sound is amazing . My favourite place to see a band . Have been watching gigs here for nearly 40 years .
N. F.
Always love going here for concerts. My only complaint is that the coffee is appalling, so weak, I couldn't drink it. Wish they'd sell espresso or a decent filter coffee.
S. K.
Excellent my son took part in a Come and Play day today. Great experience. This is his 2nd year. Thankyou to Stephen Bell -Conductor and the whole Ulster Orchestra for a fabulous evening.
P. A.
One of the best concert venues in Belfast. Close to city centre hotels. Check website for information. Usually tickets available for most performances. Great location for lovers of classical music.
J. K.
Lovely building and great acoustics for concerts. Comfortable seating and good bars across the 2 floors. Friendly staff too.
M. K.
As others have probably mentioned , this is were Led Zeppelin first played "Stairway to Heaven". Now largely the home of the ulster orchestra and various concerts. Holds around 1400 people, made up of two balcony's with a bar on the outside of the main venue. Tickets booked via the Belfast Waterfront staff (who are always very helpful!)
N. F.
Great venue for an intimate feeling concert.
A. D.
Some great shows, but the price of drink is ridiculous
p. c.
Great venue, very historic only watched concerts here but has fantastic acoustics loved it
s. s.
Staff very helpful... auditorium first floor balcony railing is dangerously low (Architectural heritage preservation at expense of public safety!!!!) with a dangerous timber step..a tripping issue... means access to seats is unsafe... accident waiting to happen, staff should direct client to nearest stair to reduce walk distance along the low railing.
s. m.
Went to see the Johnny cash road show at Ulster hall. Was a great venue with very good acoustics, staff were friendly and helpful.
Very good experience!
g. b.
Hi my name is Gary and I went to the Ulster Hall to see black Stone Cherry I am also visually impaired the staff help me out immensely and the young lady guided me into the hall and then when she was on her break come to see if I needed anything it was absolutely amazing had a fantastic time and I'm looking forward to going back I felt safe insecure thank you everybody at the Ulster Hall
C. R.
this place it so clean and tidy and staff are helpful
P. P.
Attended with 2 friends to see a comedian, the venue was grand and I would struggle to find a fault. Good drink selection and didn't have to wait to long to get served.
J. M.
Attended Joan Armatrading gig during the week. Great venue for a concert. Great sound in the hall and very friendly helpful staff but was disappointed at over inflated bar prices.
I. G.
Awesome, historic venue. The place Led Zeppelin played Stairway to Heaven live for the first time, so a step into rock history.
D. C.
The last time l was at the Ulster Hall was to see Richie Sambora, went last night to the classical music piece and see the mens toilets are a joke, no stalls, haven't been refurbished in that time, not good enough.
J. T.
Good venue ,great show again by the 'hole in the wall' gang ,drink price's should be lower though !!
E. G.
Very comfortable venue. Pleasant staff. Nice bar area with seating. Clean toilet facilities. Good acoustics.
b. m.
Nostalgic atmosphere in this wonderful old hall.everyone shown to seats with a smile.Central location means after show drinks no problem.A great evening full of friendly Irish folk.
F. T.
The times are changing. Tonight the home of Ulster Resistance was breached by a group of rebellious men known as Fontaines DC from Dublin. Deemed the next big thing by those who know, the band strode through a dizzying selection from their now-famous Dogrel LP.
Only downside here was after first 4 songs things started to unravel a tad as they stumbled into Specialized/JAMC/Joy Division land for 2-3 numbers before rushing back to what they're good at... the lead singers broad Dublin accent pinning colours here.
D. L.
What a venue - so iconic - staff are amazing and so friendly - nice wee bar. Really great atmosphere - up close and personal
C. C.
It's had its fair share of troubles in its years and it's windows were destroyed in a bomb decades ago.
Thankfully they've now been returned to their former glories and the hall is often used for concerts and other events. Interior is beautiful too.
D. G.
Incredible building, awe inspiring. Great concert too, excellent acoustics. Just an unbelievably good experience
S. C.
Nice place, been a few times, chairs are s little uncomfortable though
m. r.
When to the ulster hall to see boxing a great venue well run
E. C.
Was there last night for the Coronas. Fantastic venue. Great sound and atmosphere. Staff were all so helpful too. Thanks everyone ❤️
M. M.
My favourite live venue, really good sound and acoustics, however the bar is very poor, very limited beer selections, and expensive at that.
M. G.
It is a very good venue for sound and with the massive organ pipes at the back of the stage really sets without from other venues.
C. H.
Nice venue. Parking on street is available, but can be hard come by. Venue has a bar which can be very busy, usually another bar is open upstairs.
A. W.
The acoustics of this venue are very good. Attended a wonderful lunchtime concert with the Ulster orchestra today.
B. Q.
Fantastic music venue
L. K.
Was working here for the Bicep album launch and stayed to watch the visual show.
Really friendly staff and an unreal venue. Would definitely come here for a concert again.
E. D.
Great concert. Staff lovely. Got in smoothly and quickly out of the rain! Big plus!
D. M.
Good venue, good leg room, a bit more padding on the seats would be nice, but comfortable enough.
H. M.
Great music venue, acoustics fab
N. F.
Fantastic Venue for Classical concerts - the style of the building is well suited to this type of music. The large organ pipes are amazing. One of Belfast's treasured buildings.
D. C.
Best sounding venue in Belfast.
M. L.
Good place for a venue, Belfast beer festival
D. H.
Lovely building but the cues for the bar were tiresome. Possibly more suitable for theatre than for a rock concert, but a beautiful building none the less.
G. A.
Staff were lovely and friendly, bar could be bigger, otherwise its an amazing venue, especially for comedy shows!
F.
Listened to Elgar's Enigma Variations live, with a friend as a birthday treat for me. Casual/smart do to mainly listen to Ulster Orchestras latest performances and to be very much entertained without disappointment.
M. P.
Watched Neil Delamere, great show, great venue for a comedian
C. M.
Lovely old hall with magnificent organ. Chairs a little uncomfortable. Was not impressed by the concert I attended but that was not the fault of the hall.
A. L.
Good size , performers seem accessable, easy access to seats and building, loads of toilets, historic clean just don't buy a drink £8 for a run and coke
G. Y.
Near Belfast city hall. Easy access. The thing to watch out for if the programme runs late is when is the last train and do you mind going home with people who have drunk too much
C. D.
An iconic venue, part of the whole fabric of Belfast, from world championship boxing to the best rock music, a truly majestic place.
B. M.
Good accessibility, friendly staff and bar has good offers, though basic prices are quite high. Amazing range of performances and productions
S. A.
Fantastic show...great atmosphere.Hadn't been there for some time but I'll definitely be back
M. M.
For me, the No:1 venue for stand up comedy in Belfast. A beautiful building and interior, with an almost intimate feel in the hall.
B. M.
Ulster Hall is a great name for it because it reminds me of my old school hall. Sound isn't terrible but not the best in the world either.
A. M.
A group of girls sitting close by us were very noisy continuously running out to bar for more drinks and up dancing from when the show started .had drink spilled over the floor beside us .appeared to be no security to deal with them ..I think bar should be closed during the show . No organisation at all
A. B.
Beautiful venue and very friendly staff. I look forward to seeing more performances at this venue in the future.
A. J.
Great concert. Sound was great but was kept waiting to get inside on a cold night. Seats were basic.
M. O.
Really nice venue with a lot of history.
C. H.
The ale festival was really good this year, the new set up was excellent, still think some food stalls would help and keep peps in the hall
J. F.
A fine venue in the centre of Belfast. Lots of good places to eat nearby. In general all round good day and night out.
Thank you Belfast.
j. m.
Seen many concerts and boxing matches and cage wars in the Ulster hall lovely building with lots of history worth a visit to a show sometime
m.
Great wee hall to take in live music
A. M. E.
Great location in centre of Belfast- fab building for concerts with great acoustics ,plenty of restaurants/ coffee shops nearby .Great pleasant staff

M. d.
Great show great staff great venue would highly recommend go to the ulster hall you won't be disappointed
N. R.
Is used to be one of the only 2 concert venues in Belfast, and at one point boasted the best acoustics in Europe.
Lovely cosy local venue.
T. M. &. I. S.
A much improved venue since the days when it was the only real music venue in Belfast.Full bar facilities available and generally clean and tidy.Went to the Train gig on 17th Feb - the only disappointment for me was the surprisingly poor sound - I'm not sure why, but other bands I've seen there have been spot on.The singalong qualities of the songs carried the night, but the guitars were inaudible and even the lead vocals were struggling to be heard.Maybe there is an overall sound level restriction that is the root cause. But if you want a really bad sound go to the Odyssey. And we all thought the Kings Hall was bad?
T. A.
Decent little venue that's just about perfect for Concerts. Although not letting people stand in the balconies ruins a concert though
P. B.
Great venue for concerts, I've always had a good time here, most recently James Vincent McMorrow
M. M.
Great night in the Ulster Hall, my friend the first lady boxer to box in the Ulster Hall
Cathy McAleer won the fight. Brilliant 🥊👍

A. M.
Roy orbison buddy holly hologram concert amazing. Ulster hall a bit dated but a part of Belfast's history
d. d.
Why do they let people get so drink in here, concerts are often ruined by the state of people in here. Otherwise a gorgeous place for music shows
A. A.
Great venue with really good sound
M. K.
Really Lovely venue, that's only let down by its very uncomfortable seating.

Amazing place, something special about it
K. M.
The world famous Ulster Hall, its a little smaller than I expected. The building oozes nostalgia and the pipe organ at the back of the stage is a work of art.
P. W.
Lovely venue, with a great atmosphere but one of the worst sound systems I've ever heard.
R. K.
Great venue, I have been here for Hoizer, James Bay and Milton Jones. One of my favorite venues in Northern Ireland

G. D.
Brilliant show tonight with David Meade on stage and the staff couldn't have been more helpful we will definitely be back.
H. F.
Good venue for a concert wothout being so large that you feel removed from the stage. Nice decor, feels historic.
G. H.
This is a beautiful Victorian era concert hall in the heart of Belfast.
Recently renovated, acoustics are fantastic.
F. C.
Victorian concert hall with great accoustics. Pillars obscure stage views in certain areas. Best seats upstairs.

m. M.
Cher tribute act was amazing. The red wine at the venue was nt good.....lovely venue.
