This bar restaurant is very well presented. Some African music is played by a DJ which gives a nice atmosphere. The food was amazing. We had some goat meat kebabs, grilled tilapia with jollof and grilled croaker fish with plantain. My husband was really happy with the portion size. The flavour was really nice and the hot chilli sauce was adding to the flavour. We really recommend.

This place is at first sight very odd. It is a night club turned into restaurant. Don't let the eyes fool you! The food is all amazing authentic african food. My favourite is the soup and swallow! The grilled fish pieces is delicious too!! Only downside is that the food takes very long to come out. In my opinion if you choosing from the buffet, ready made warm food, it should not take over 30-40min to arrive to the table. Don't be expecting FAST service or food to arrive. They do Takeaway! 3weeks ago when I went my 3rd time the staff had changed for the better, much more friendly and talkative. All people that I've come across have been really nice to me and the food have tasted delicious. This place turns into a nightclub Friday's and Saturdays.

We went here for my friend's birthday dinner and we were glad we did. It was a decision between here and Nakira bar but in getting there, they made us feel we made the right choice. Our table had been reserved, food was served very quickly and we were offered appetizers on the house while waiting for our dinner

I had ordered food to take away. The food was lovely and hot. The customer service was good as well. The only issue I had with this African Village was the lack of parking. The pay and display car park was full so I had to park a walking distance away from the restaurant.

Lovely food when it eventually arrived although very very hot and spicy. Make a note yourself of your order and total it up before you order as the girl on the till seems to get very mixed up. Also portions vary. My sister only got 1 piece of fish whereas my husband who ordered the exact thing got 2. One meal didn't turn up at all until we had to query it. Then that took ages to come then.

Ideally 3 and a half. Food (main thing) is very nice, music good, real African atmosphere. Was here before 7 so can't relate to the night club comments. Only concern is could do with a pay-by-card service.

I would have given 7 stars if it was possible. If you want the African dish in Birmingham, African village restaurant is best spot. Another good side is that it turns to a club on Fridays and Saturdays with wonderful African music, you will dance till 4am. I had Poundo and efo riro, and stepped it down with a bottle of Nigeria Guinness Stout. Visit this place and thank me later.....

I give them 4 stars for the food, but the service was rubbish, I made a phone order for collection when I there they had given my order away so had to wait for my order to be cooked, but when I ate it it was great, I had roasted tilapia fish and roasted goat meat, it was well cooked,spicy served with sweet plantains.

I came to birmingham for the new year and I found this place. Very welcoming and the food is to die for. Pepper soup and nkwobi lovers. This is the place to go to. I was also looking foward to the eru dish and I wasn't dissapointed. To all the cameroonians looking for a good fresh well prepared meal; african village is the place to go to and prices are very reasonable too.

The food taste nice, well I tried the African 'Yam Delight' and despite the reduction in the quantity of the food (due to hike in food price) but also the prices of some food items have been slightly increased.... The setting of the restaurant is not particularly top-notch and it's dark....can barely see my food .
