I went in for a take away, staff was very nice and helpful. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. I chose the vegetables with rice and the food was incredible. Portions were very large, but I ate it all, as it was just so good I couldn't stop eating it. Very good value for money as well. Will definitely come again.

This place is an absolute banger! My friends and me took the Blue Nile plate for 3 people, so that we can try as many dishes as possible. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It is definitely something different from what we are used to in Europe, but it is so delicious, everyone should taste it. However, take care, some other dishes are made of raw meat. And also, some dishes are meant to be eaten with plain fingers. That is how it is meant. Just saying so that you dont get surprised. Not to mention the really nice service. That lovely gentleman even offered us some special eritrean beer that was not found on the menu.

Accustomed to Indian food I found Ethiopian/Eritrean a little bland... But the BONELESS FISH was EXQUISITE, quite the tastiest and most satisfying fish that I have ever been served in the West Midlands, well worth a visit there in its own right if you order .nothing else!. A humble-looking hidden gem that is full of surprises. The signature injera is softer and smoother in texture than other restaurants', the slight sour flavour matches perfectly with the aromatics from the wat -- the injera fully absorbed in wat tastes divine. The grilled fish is much larger and tempting than it looks in the menu, tastes surprisingly delicious particularly for its crispy skin.

Something different and tasty. Ethiopian food eaten the traditional way - with your fingers - made it taste even better. I recommend the share platters with 5 or 10 different dishes to get a good taste if you don't know what you'll like. Excellent food for a good price. The server was so nice and helped me pick out a dish - they really made eating here accessible and enjoying to someone who’s not familiar with Ethiopian food. The food is really good! Never had anything like it before and wasn't sure what to expect but for very little (three of us ate for £25 in total) you get a lot and its all extremely tasty. I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant whether or not you are trying Ethiopian food for the first time or you are familiar with the cuisine. The food is excellent and there is an extensive choice of meat and vegetarian dishes. I would recommend the "variety meal" as you can try a good sample of a number of different dishes with injera. The price is very reasonable and the staff are very helpful. My wife and I have been to a good few Ethiopian restaurants in the UK and I would say that The Blue Nile is one of the best. It is about a 20 minutes walk from New Street Station but frequent buses pass the restaurant from the city centre.
