Even if the policy of the brand in UK, is finalizing a low 4 stars, the staff is absolutely top One. The limited menu is anyhow gorgeously prepared, the service is, even if the staff is under effective, very professional, very kind and they're making you feel comfortable from gm to the basic employees.
Great job.
M.
Fantastic stay. Thanks to the team for making the family and me feel welcome. Favourite places were pool and restaurant. Breakfast team including Emelia, Siony, Marian and all the other fab colleagues went the extra mile EVERYDAY - very …

Great hotel, exceptionally clean, amazing staff and service, ample parking in a brilliant location.
Fantastic breakfast. Definitely recommend
M. P.
Room was very quiet - can't hear next door. Kitchen staff was nice and accommodating and cleaners were helpful.
Rooms are quite dark (no ceiling lights), missing slippers, only one bottle of water between two. No herbal teas (had to ask kitchen) Slightly dated. Windows cannot open.
Most 4 stars offer more, especially a marriott.

It was nice to finally get back to this hotel again after more than two years. We felt very safe. Most of the staff were superb -- only the bar staff let the side down. The buffet breakfast did not disappoint. If I had any other criticisms, it is that the property is looking a bit tired and in need of a face-lift.

This hotel is clean and well maintained. The pool is great (it is quite deep so anyone with a small child might require a float.) What made this hotel special was how kind and helpful the staff were. Reception staff gave recommendations and took time to talk through our requirements. Staff in the restaurant were very helpful too.
S.
Lovely hotel with an amazingly comfy bed. Breakfast was good and although quite crowded, the pool was nice with clean & tidy changing areas.
The only drawbacks were a lack of power outlets in the room. Only one was usable …

We enjoyed our two night stay in a double double room. The room was clean and well appointed with plenty of amenities. We used room service during our stay and the staff were very professional and nothing was too much trouble. Room service …

Rooms are clean, but windows are filthy. Furniture is worn. Everything is functional in the room. No business center, which is a problem. Bar is nice, but very limited on draft beers. Breakfast is very mediocre- Everything in chafing pans, nothing fresh. Property needs to invest to upgrade the facility.

I had a good visit. Emilie was very helpful and gave great customer service to me and my ambassador status. She worked with another gentleman in the afternoon of 6 December but I forgot his name (Ahmed or something) but they both helped made me feel at home and was there to answer all questions
B.
I had a recent overnight stay, my first hotel stay in 15 months. The hotel is easy to get to, and first impressions entering the reception area is positive.
Got a great greeting and signed in very safely. Plenty of safety information all …

We were very impressed by the hotel!
The friendly atmosphere, with the staff professional attitude and happy to help with any questions 😀 🎂!
However, the swimming pool seemed to have lots of hair which put me off .
The jacuzzi and steam room were enjoyable.
James at the spa was very dedicated to support our needs and went above and beyond for us!
F.
We had a lovely visit. The staff went beyond our expectations, Dominique on reception was a credit to your hotel. Patient, thoughtful and helpful. When finding out that it was 3 ladies celebrating 40th birthdays it was so lovely to have 3 …

Throughout my stay of a couple of weeks, I was so impressed with the the staff who were amazing, kind and efficient- Jason at reception was stellar -incredibly helpful, informative and brilliant service, as well as Lillian and Emilia, also Winnie of housekeeping and Davinder went to a lot of trouble with the room, and Liza at the pool was also so helpful and kind- honestly top service from all- thank you so much for making my stay so enjoyable.

Great amenities, nice and big rooms.
Only thing I couldn't book at the spa online as website was down and everytime I tried to call they were busy. When I got there everything was booked up. Bit gutted I couldn't go to the spa.. hopefully next time
T. C.
A very good hotel the staff are friendly and very helpful too.
The location is great too for food drink and the nightlife available in and around broad street and Brindley Place.
Certainly worth considering as a place to stay or for a training venue.
L. R. E.
Good central place but getting in to car park is a challenge with the one way system, but Morrison is a short cut from Hagley Road.
Staff helpful, polite and knowledgable.
Good selection of food. Easy walk to Xmas Market.
D. P.
Mine and my wife experience at the spa was simply amazing. The staff was very professional and Di a brilliant job. Highly recommended this spa
A.
Excellent all round. Staff were very professional and very polite very well spoken and couldn’t do more for you. The added bonus of free parking was excellent and check in and check out Swift.
S.
Went for a one bedroom so the kids could stay in the main living room area while we slept in the bedroom. It was all set up very well and no complaints with the set-up. The decor felt tired and could have done with a good refurb. …

I wouldn't call this a 4 star hotel. Very dated decor and amenities. Can't even find a plug anywhere near beds. Needs an update badly

We stayed for a family weekend in August in a spacious double double that was perfect for the 4 of us. The hotel is located in close proximity to Legoland and a short drive form Cadbury World, both of which we were visiting. The swimming …

Overall it was a good stay. It is our hotel of choice when visiting Birmingham. It would have been good to have been given a little more information on "new rules". There were no robes/slippers in the room, not all the toiletries were …

This was such a fantastic hotel in the lively city of Birmingham even though it was on a very busy road. It was very hard to find as there were lots of roadworks and diversions all around the city but having said all that, the hotel made up for those points. The reception area was pristine and looked very modern, whilst the rooms had both a classic and a modern feel about them. The swimming pool was a perfect, warm temperature, as was the jacuzzi. The steam room was also wonderful. The restaurant in the hotel was a bit ran down though, it was as if it was going through a renovation! The service was also quite slow and the food was average and the dessert was mediocre, to say the least. Our bathroom in our hotel room also stopped working so we had to call reception in order to have it fixed. Nevertheless, this was still a really lovely hotel to stay in - oh, and the beds were lovely to sleep on as well and you get a nice large telly in your room! 🙂
M.
Great location and facilities for a short family break at a reasonable price.
Staff in the hotel, gym and pool were professional, helpful and friendly. …
A. S.
We stayed here for one night. The check in was smooth. A nice touch with a kids goody bag.
The family room was large and clean. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast was good and you can ask for omelettes and vegetarian sausages. The staff in breakfast room were very friendly and attentive.
M. A.
In my opinion this was more like a three star hotel for many reasons. The bedrooms were comfy & a nice pool and staff.
Be warned you have to pay a pretty steep price for parking which is ridiculous, I mean it costs less in London then it does here.
A. M.
What is there not to like.
Only downside no draft beers but could understand as they are risk adverse to getting caught with old beer.
Hotel is what you expect from a Marriott.
J.
Greeted by wonderful receptionist. Made to feel extremely welcome. Very clean and comfortable room.. Had 2 great sessions in pool and steam room . Delicious breakfast with very friendly, helpful staff once again. Highly recommend
S.
We had an excellent stay at the Marriott Birmingham, I just wish we could have stayed longer. Our suite was amazing and the staff are so attentive. Very family friendly my children didn't want to leave..(Neather did I!)

Overall very happy with the hotel
Easy to get to
Nice food
Clean
Staff very friendly
Bed very comfortable
Parking easy
The rooms are a bit dated and no plug socket for a phone charger on the bedside table so would be nice for them to start updating this hotel
Would stay again for sure.
Thanks.

Stayed here for a city weekend break. It was excellent. Great location that's handy for the city centre. Can't fault it.
C.
We had a nice stay, the hotel is bit old and small , but in a good location. Also we missed some fresh vegetables for breakfast such as cucumbers tomatoes, lettuce etc.
P.
I had recently suffered a family bereavement and the staff at the Birmingham Marriott were so lovely; not just good customer service, but genuine care, humanity and empathy. You have some really good people and I hope you look after and reward them.
S.
Classed as a 5* hotel with a few issues still. Expensive breakfast with no latte coffee without extra payment. 24hr room service offered but phone in room not working so order could not be placed! Needs to up the game to remain 5* in my eyes.
K.
Very comfortable bed, had a great night sleep, breakfast was very tasty and spa facilities were excellent,
Very pleasant and helpful staff,,
Only negative carpets a little dirty
D.
So pleased as a family to be made feel so comfortable by the restaurant staff at breakfast! It is not often, with 3 kids, that you get such quality service but the staff really went out of their way to make it relaxing and fun for the whole family.
M. L.
Given this hotel stay on a recent work trip could’ve wrapped me in a cocoon of sadness, it was a pleasant stay. Comfy bed, big bath and good breakfast. Would come again.
K. T.
Very comfortable bed ,great nites sleep
Nice touch putting your name on TV
Very good breakfast and excellent spa facilities, will definitely stay here again

Lovely visit to the hotel and leisure spa today. Candice the beauty therapist gave an amazing beauty treatment. What a little find very relaxing afternoon.
Thank you
A. G. U.
The hotel room was great but the pool and facilities were terrible a real let down.
M.
A few issues at this hotel, room wasn’t properly clean before I entered. There were no spoons or stirrers for making a tea/coffee. Swimming pool no accessible in the morning as used for classes. Breakfast lacked choice and poorly laid out.
C. L.
Very good easy together to anywhere breakfast nice Spa nice
T.
Quick and easy check in, great location only a few minutes away from numerous restaurants, pool was great for the kids. Room was a good size, and breakfast the following morning was great, would reccomend
A.
One of the best hotels we have stayed at! The rooms were ideal for a family of 4, clean and spacious. We loved the spa and swimming pool! The hotel is located close to the city centre.
D. B.
Absolutely incredible experience, having full use of the spa facilities was a welcome bonus. Highly recommended as a mini night away.....
L.
We stayed for one night and we were welcomed with a bottle of champaign in the room, amazing! The food was lovely too. Did not get to enjoy the spa/pool area as it was fully booked by the time I asked.
H. M.
Been here recently, the staff were helpful on the desk, track and trace was taken by the NHS app before entering the hotel. The room we had which had a queen size bed which was extremely comfortable for the price, the bathroom was a little outdated and the mirror should have been closer. The swimming pool was a good size if your the only one in their, breakfast was nicely done and the server didn't say no to anything extra we asked for. The portions sizes were correct for breakfast and we were offered pancakes and waffles and I even asked for whipped cream which looked freshly whipped. Overall, would stay here again no much to fault.
M. M.
Beautiful place, clean and tidy hotel. Spa was amazing. I forgot the massager's name but she knows her job very well. Access to spa was fun. Highly recommend
K.
the hotel is well located and the amenities are good with attentive staff. To achieve perfection the bedrooms need a little facelift
D.
Would stay again. Have only put average for amenities as my girls couldn’t use the pool at 10.30 even though it didn’t shut until 11
D. A. H.
We booked the suite. Unfortunately, there was a stain on the carpet and the smell of vomit which was very strong. They were very responsive and came immediately to clean the stain again and did another clean of the room. The manager also took a small anount off the final bill. The hotel itself is very roomy and has a lovely ambience. The interior is in need of an update but will be challenging to do that in these current times. I would however say that the staff are very attentive and keen to provide the best service possible. We were also able to use the pool and the breakfast was also very good.

Wonder hotel with two young children- breakfast staff helpful and a young Spanish chap was super engaging with the children making them feel special and intern us. …

Great staff and polite. Rooms was great and they were accommodating.
K.
I liked the bed comfort and the location. Breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful. Windows are a bit dated though and dinner should have more variety.
S. B.
Comfy beds, a nice strong shower and all very clean. Didn't get a chance to try the other facilities but the staff were friendly and welcoming.
M.
Great staff and excellent service. Food was really good and everything clean and well maintained. However, it really needs an upgrade and looks like it was last decorated in the eighties
E.
Stayed for 3 nights. Breakfast overpriced. Dinner was fine. Staff are very professional. Rooms are very dated
B.
Good central location, good range of amenities and helpful staff.
Only negative would be not as much breakfast choice / healthy choice as some other other Marriot hotels
N.
Greeting was very good. Room (corner suite) was clean and comfortable. Furniture, fittings and decor dated and a bit worn. Windows dirty and streaked with condensation inside secondary glazing making it hard to see out. Staff were helpful …

Stayed at this property many times. As always, clean, comfortable accommodation, good food, exceptional service from all. Will definitely continue to come back!
S.
Really pleased with recent stay. Hotel staff were very helpful especially Dominique at reception. Room clean, tidy and a good size. Good location

We came for a spa day and had a lovely time! All the staff were super attentive and helpful. My mom and I both had a massage and facial which were amazing.
We had our lunch at the restaurant, the food was really good. Very impressed by the polite and friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!
K. O.
This place was amazing 👏
Clean, organised, spacious, well equipped rooms, gorgeous swimming pool/spa area and most of all lovely and quiet throughout the night inside and outside of the building!
L. L.
Excellent hotel in good location for city centre without being too close. Public transport stops outside of hotel. Limited parking spaces at hotel so we left our car there and used public transport. Very helpful staff and exceptionally clean hotel in all areas. Wonderful breakfast options with a chef who will cook omelette to order with many options available. Bar was well laid out drink prices as expected for city hotel. We would definitely stay again
C. J.
Not a bad hotel. Comfy. Good service staff. A bit old but was quiet and a good place to be central enough to the city center to walk there and enjoy the culture. Great library and historical markers and close to a river tour as well.
k. r.
Clean, bed 🛏️ are very comfortable, nice welcoming staff. Great place to spend your time away from home 🏘️
I. S.
Upset that I was doubled charged and still waiting on a refund and still chasing a refund. The room was nice and clean the leisure centre could do with a makeover. Lockers don’t work at all!
I. N.
Nicely appointed and well located with a handy car park right outside. I didn't get a chance to try the pool or spa despite good intentions and it was a working trip which demanded too much of my time. Friendly staff. My room was right over reception so it times I could hear people wheeling suitcases through which would have been really annoying if I was trying to sleep (I wasn't. I was working so it was still distracting). Elements of it were a little tired but it was still a nice room. It was handy having an iron and ironing board in the room as standard. I ate one night in the bar and the food was lovely (I had a burger which was cooked to perfection, still pink in the middle, with delicious fries), and breakfast was good - there was also the option of freshly cooked omelette which I've only ever seen abroad before so that was a nice touch.
C.
A lovely stay at the hotel however attention to detail maybe lacking as dirty cloth left in bathroom.
R. M.
Fabolous full hygiene code good food friendly bar staff
L.
Lovely hotel, nice staff, room well equipped and bed very comfy. Had room service twice; food very tasty and well prepared. Issue with air-con and shower, but we reported this when we left and were assured this would be fixed for the next guest. Parking expensive and limited.
M.
A really nice hotel with good views. Customer Service was excellent. However shame about the paid parking.
E. P.
We went to the Marriott on a spa day it was very nice and relaxing in the pool and jacuzzi. It could do with a really good Clean In pool area and the showers. They are really mucky will black mould in certain places. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. I would go there again!
P.
Always greeted politely and efficiently with everything already prepared. Rooms are always clean and tidy with comfortable beds and good tv. Menu is fairly simple and healthy and quality of food is always top notch and breakfast has a …

The property is centrally located in city center of Birmingham. The adjacent car park is very helpful (although a bit challenging to find if you don't know the area.) …
J. D.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, prime location, pizza hut, domino's, morrisons supermarket, chinese take away just few yards away from the hospital. Only negative remark is nobody clear my room bins during my four days stay may be due to covid. Restaurant staff (especially Behram) are very friendly and welcoming.
P. F.
Nice hotel in a good location for exploring the city centre. Our room was a good size and there didn't seem to be much noise from the busy roads nearby. Parking available on site at extra cost but limited due to its location. Staff were friendly and very attentive in particular the restaurant waiter! The pool was small but adequate which the kids enjoyed. Large steam room and the breakfast was very good. I would definitely stay there again.
J.
We came to this hotel as it was near the ICC for a business convention there.
For us, it’s only down side was the 10 min walk which was fine until it rained and we had bags to carry. It was however only £4.40 in a cab to the venue. …

The stay was for a leisure break. Excellent reception staff, friendly housekeeping, and super staff, service and food at the Brew House bar/restaurant in the hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are a bit dated and maintenance upkeep is a bit lacking …
M.
Great welcome, the Reception Team were keen to get me checked in even though I arrived at 8.00am in the morning, on returning to the hotel I’d been upgraded to a super room, I’d prefer a cold room, unlike most, and Maintenace did their best …

This hotel is very beautiful, a victorian building situated in a nice surrounding area, close to city center. Nice rooms, good breakfast, a cappuccino should be included in the menu as well as parmesan and fresh tomatoes, excellent …
D.
I had a really good time when I stayed here a couple of years ago. The room was big, the staff friendly (and very patient with us) and they gave us free drinks for my entire group of friends instead of just me and my partner, thanks to my platinum status.
That said, the car park is very small and is often full of terribly parked obnoxiously huge cars owned by rich people, so it's not great if you're planning to drive there.
E.
The staff were amazing and the breakfast was very good so we’re all the facilities.
N. Y.
Stayed here as the last night of a week away. Corner suite worked well as a family room for 4. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Kids loved the swimming pool at the spa, and the varied breakfast buffet. Comfortable lounge bar on site, and Broad Street area mean plenty of restaurants nearby. Convenient car park to front, although possibly a bit small for size of hotel.
F. F.
Very good welcome on arrival from professional and polite reception. Room was beautiful very well equipped clean and delighted quarter window doors to wardrobe. Great restaurants and an amazing northern Indian chef.
General Manager have us a very warm welcome and made sure anything we needed was provided. A hotel I would as the world most travelled person and staying in hotels especially Marriott highly recommend
M.
Best hotel stay....ever!
Although this is a 4 * hotel, the staff delivered a far more superior service than some of the 5* hotels I have stayed in in London. …
r. m.
Really lovely hotel. There spa was nice I wish it just had a bit more to it. Plus there were a lot of rowdy people in there. So felt more of a public swimming pool, then a relaxing spa area.
The room wasn't very spacious as the layout was very weird and meant we had to shimmy around the bed all the time. However, the bathroom was lovely and large. At night it got very hot and stuffy which was a shame as the beds were so comfy.
We had a lovely time but there were a few things that let it down
Z. G.
Fantastic service from staff especially receptionist Joanna, waiter Joseph and chamber maids. 1st time stay so lovely experience taking my daughters to spa and overnight stay who live local and I live in Devon. Will definitely return. Highly recommended.
m. c.
Great older building.
Excellent check-in staff.
Room 409, nice, clean, good amount of space. Needs plug sockets or USB ports in the light stands next to the bed, this is very common these days.
Evening meal was good, staff again excellent.
Breakfast nice, lots of choice, however scrambled egg was awful, feel apart as soon as a fork came anywhere near it, had to eat it with a spoon.
Checkout was painless.
2 Minor negative points, but overall excellent.
A. L.
Great service, really lovely to get an upgrade to a suite!
A.
Great service from check in through to check out. We were a party of 3 and stayed together in a delux room. There was no compromise of space as we had 2 double beds and an extremely spacious bathroom. …
L.
Our room was clean and spacious and very quiet despite being on a busy road. The bathroom was really lovely as were the soaps, shampoo and creams. I had to order room service from the bar as they were very busy but our meal was brought up …
I. D.
Well deserved for the price. Room, food and the hospitality of the staff. The only issue we had was the shower setting was not working properly and the condition of the stairway to the leisure facilities untiedy which requires cleaning. But other than that our stay was good.
I.
Had a Spa day and overnight stay there.
Staff in spa area were friendly and informative.
Very nice facilities.
Had a full body massage.
Staff in treatment room were great.
Very professional and excellent treatments.
Hotel reception staff were efficient. Got room ready for us earlier than expected.
Bar area staff service was great.
Rooms were clean.
R. J.
Fantastic stay from start to finish. Super friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Lovely big family room with two double beds. Spotlessly clean. Great pool and gym, reasonably sized for a hotel and enough up to date equipment for a good workout. Great breakfast including a chef on duty for fresh omelettes to order in addition to cereals, fruit, pastries and a full English. Very highly recommend.
E. H.
My wife, two children and I recently had the pleasure to stay in this hotel for a few nights. It was a joy. The rooms (including the room service) where great. The breakfast was excelent (I miss the man making the fried eggs already!). We had a problem with the air conditioning in our room which was handled brilliantly by the hotel staff (we even got an email after our stay with another apology). If we're ever in Birmingham again we know where we will stay.
R. L.
This has got to be the cleanest Hotel I have ever stayed in, I checked every where and didn't find any dust or grime in my room. The room I was in were massive. Air conditioning, huge bed, huge TV, iron in the room, tea and coffee facilities, full size bath with shower, desk, and a seating area. The staff were great. Complimentary refreshments at reception. Hotel has its own car park. Good transport links if you don't want to walk into city centre. Has a supermarket next door. Highly recommend this hotel.
P. M.
It's a grand old hotel but it could do with a refresh, particularly the bedrooms. The bathroom was very dated and the black mould around the windows, which you couldn't see out of because of the condensation, was particularly bad.
The food we had at lunch was decent and breakfast was really good.
Location-wise, as a single, female traveller i would say to get a taxi into town rather than walk.
M.
Excellent location
This hotel is brilliantly sited for many of the city centre’s attractions. …
M.
Pleasant stay with friends with a few days, nice spacious room and decent breakfast and very friendly helpful staff.
E. N.
Good hotel, especially for the price! Parking is a bit tough sometimes, but it is also next to a costa. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and can keep anyone happy. The bed had a very warm blanket. But the house wine wasn't very good. Also, the rooms don't seem to be very well insolated since the building is older. We would stay there again!
G.
An average hotel located at a busy junction. When you enter the hotel the staff are not welcoming and not ready for guests . The appearance of hallway is not inviting and staff at the bar and restaurant are same. When we visited some of the …

We booked this hotel for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and to visit Cadbury world with the kids the next day.. ( which is great btw) .The hotel was immaculate, lovely people, great room and amazing price. We enjoyed using the pool in the evening till 8 with the kids ( as after 8 it's adults only till 11) and they supplied towels, bathrobes and slippers for us. We were so grateful when Dominique surprised us at our room with a desert to celebrate our anniversary and even gave the girls sweets. Really can not fault the place. The breakfast was perfect the next morning and I will definitely come back again. Thankyou everyone for making it so special xx
J. W.
Parking is available but there is a charge which is disappointing. The building exterior is lovely and the wooden revolving door entrance is fabulous. The room was functional and clean and was in keeping with the age and style of the overall building. Perhaps some looking for a modern experience will be left underwhelmed. The bar is lovely with a diner layout as well as some cosy areas. Restaurant area is functional and shares a limited menu with the bar. Staff all friendly and helpful. Spa available but not used with a lovely indoor pool and steam room, etc. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice including an omelette station.
R.
Clean and comfortable but does miss plugs at bedside and needs updating on the interior it is an old looking 4* hotel.
S. C.
Lovely hotel. Friendly and very helpful staff in reception and restaurant. Nothing too much trouble. Has a swimming pool.
Catered very well for gluten free diet.
S. H.
Attended for a conference, well prepared venue, friendly helpful staff. Two complimentary drinks with your meal were included. Timing of the food could have been quicker. Chicken was served first and there was a 30min or do wait for the final dish to be served at the table. Waiting for everyone's food to arrive before eating meant mine was extremely cold.
T. M.
Stayed in one of the suites, which although nice was a little aged in terms of furnishings (stains on and tired carpets). Also the pull out bed for the children was very poor, luckily my four year old weighs nothing, anyone older would have not had a very good sleep at all. Staff and food were both good, however we were accidentally overcharged which although we luckily noticed took too long for the front office staff to address.
H.
A friendly and beautiful hotel with a lovely spa. Although I didn't get chance to use it I did take a look and really regretted not taking my swimming costume. We had slippers and robes in our rooms and a huge, comfortable bed. Nice bar and lovely rooms. Will definitely go again.

We had a great stay. Staff was super helpful, the rooms were clean and large and comfortable. The cost was very reasonable.
Don't be fooled by the map- this hotel has a great location. Even though it looks like it is landlocked in no man's land by busy roads, the entrance of the hotel leads directly to a pedestrian tunnel at Five Ways that will take you under those highways and lead you straight towards all the great shops and restaurants on Broad Street. Another 10 minutes walking gets you to Brindley Place and the canals.

Spa day, not enough for a full day really therapists were brilliant though

I was thinking more of a better experience for all families and better experiences for all business workers.

Lovely building and friendly staff. But cafe/bar area is a let down. I was expecting a warm sophisticated lounge. Unfortunately the only have a industrial style mix-mash bar/restaurant. Really odd for what is probably a grade I or II listed building (as well as for the Marriott brand)

The hotel is located in a nice area with several nice restaurants and eateries close by. The check-in area is very small but adequate. The pool is rather dull and could use a remodel. The interior also comes across as dated as opposed to …

Reasonable room size and you know what to expect from Marriot Hotel. Small swimming pool though. Friendly staff all-round.

// PROPERTY
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful and what is more in the staff's control is in great shape such as: cleanliness, organization, service and quality.
The rooms, while neatly maintained, could use an update or a preventative maintenance plan. My room's air circulation/air conditioning was not working and was uncomfortably warm in August. Staff was super nice and relocated me to another room, but there, the shower fixtures were loosehad to grip the base of the faucet to set water temperatures. No unbearable end of the world scenarios here to be sure, but this place falls well short of any Marriott standard, even for basic room functionality. Things like worn carpet and old walls really aren't a big deal, but I would just like to comfortably work in my room, relax and stay rested.
//GYM
Full indoor staffed gym in the basement level with treadmills, ellipticals and a rowing machine. Usual suspects cable machines and full dumbbell rack. Also features a pool, hot tub and sauna area. Change room and showers.
//SURROUNDINGS
Location wise a bit further away from the center of town and activities, but quiet. Not very walkable to places other than a few local pubs; right next to a giant Morrison's supermarket.

We throughly enjoyed our stay and it would have been perfect if the restaurant food hadn't taken an absolute age to arrive. I felt sorry for the girl who was clearly on her own running around trying to deal with everything. No complaints at …

Nice hotel. Limited parking but I suppose you have to expect this in the city centre.

Nice and clean, friendly staff, nice swimming pool, we stayed here twice.

Nice hotel with good facilities, had two rooms, one twin, one double upon arrival, found we had two doubles so was given a complimentary upgrade by staff.
Pool, jacuzzi and steam room were clean and warm. Changing rooms had complimentary lockers to store kit too.

I've worked as a chef in the catering trade for many years, so I can appreciate how difficult this time of year can be for those work within the public sector. We celebrating a Christmas party there yesterday and the food and waiter service was enjoyable. However when we came to go to the bar, we received rude appalling service from two Asian bar staff. I paid for two vodkas and lemonade, "which was not cheap" I returned these because the lemonade was flat. The bar staff made me feel extremely uncomfortable by tutting at me when I wanted them changed. All he wanted to do was top my drinks up with fresh lemonade. After that when we returned to the bar more more drinks that evening we were being completely ignored and left to be served last. Marriot hotel you have a good reputation please do not spoil this with staff that treat your customers as if they were a Chore!

Staff were all extremely polite and we're on hand to help when required. Lovely rooms and great food. Pool, jacuzzi and steam room were easily accessible and not overcrowded. Only wish they would of had a better area for smokers.

Not a single complaint. Good beds, thermostat works well so room at perfect desired temperature. Powerful shower. Good customer service. They charge for parking though

I was on a conference not far from here and this hotel was booked for its central location, including breakfast. There was dressing gowns and slippers provided and the decor was lovely. The welcome from the lady at reception was excellent. Everything is so tired and worn. The rooms are somewhat dated and could do with an update.

Really friendly staff and a good Marriott all round. There isn't a lounge here. There are parking spaces and I believe it is prices according to your Bonvoy status, eg titanium members pay £6 per night, bargin. Rooms are spacious and the gym and pool are good.

Clean and well presented with great staff. Lovely Spa which is also used as a health club by local people so watch out in the school holidays. Internet TV in your room. Fantastic comfee beds. 15 - 20 minutes walk to the centre of town. Would certainly visit again.

The location was great everything was nearby and no need to take your car out for anything. Staff service and cleanliness all top notch could not fault it at all.

The hotel was clean and found the staff really helpful. However, when we arrived. We were informed we would have to pay an additional charge for parking the car, in the hotels own carpark. £13. We had already paid for the room in advance and booked the spa. So my partner and I had spent over £150. So to be told. Now you still have to pay more. We felt a little coned. Not happy.

Attended a course in one of the board rooms at the hotel. Lunch was provided in the form of a buffet. Food was fantastic. Presented well and tasted excellent. Snacks eg cake and biccys were also provided and brought to the conference room. Again excellent service. I turned up early in the morning and was shown a lovely and comfortable seating area with coffee also provided in generously sized take away cups. Overall fantastic service and food/drink. An enjoyable experience. The building has always looked so drab from the outside, it is a different story in there. Location is fantastic, east to get to via bus/rail.

Stayed here on a Saturday night great location. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating whenever I needed my apple TV to be registered on their network or making special requests such as breakfast doggy bags at 2am. Good value for money. I would recommend it but watch the room rates.

I would recommend to family and friends.
I will definitely be staying at the Marriott again when I come back to Birmingham.

This is a great Hotel, and one with an older style which gives a sense of history and charm.
I particularly enjoy the steam room and fitness area. I love the Marriott Hotels …

The hotel was fantastic. Cannot fault. th staff were great and helped me relocated when my neighbours were too noisy. The room was spacious and well laid out with a well-lit desk. The main issue was the food. The restaurant was closed on …

Very quiet which was good for us as we had pool nearly to ourselves.
Breakfast was amazing! Pancakes, waffles, full English, toast.

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Location was ideal for the concert at The Symphony Hall.
Staff were friendly and courteous. The superior room was very spacious and comfortable with great facilties.

I loved this hotel we had access to the jacuzzi and steam room and the swimming pool which we loved. The bar prices were not to bad. The room was lovely and it came complete with air conditioning you could turn it cold or hot depending upon your preference I can't comment on the meals as we went to a weatherspoons pub which was a ten minute walk from the hotel. The only thing that bothered me was the rats near the under pass on the walk to the pub. You would think that something would be done about it. But this has nothing to do with the hotel itself. Lovely hotel would use the Marriott again.

I stayed at the Birmingham Marriott for 1 night but the experienced showed that the hotel has some way to go on customer service. We were not offered the option toleave the room bill open for food and drinks when we checked in. When then …

Lovely hotel. Great showers. Good breakfast. Good reception staff. The pool is a lot smaller than you might think but still decent!

Conveniently located, friendly staff and generally we had a nice stay. Overall our room was a bit dated and small. Bathroom was small for a room that sleeps 4. The single room had a better bathroom. Beds were comfortable and parking was easy.

Second stay here for work and the staff could not have been better. Coming from the states is a long trip that involves overnight on a plane. I got to the Marriott early, like 9am early. Both times they were able to get me a room almost immediately. This last time staff called housekeeping and had them hurry a room for me. Little things like this make the difference and mean a lot to customers!

While there are many choices, the Marriott is a quiet yet very busy hotel with a great staff and great food and drink. Some rooms are good but some rooms are great. If you are traveling from the US, don't forget your power converter to plug …

Stayed in suite 316, a little dated but still very nice. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, my teenage daughter hardly slept. The chair in the bedroom kept slowly sinking. The pool and amenities were well maintained. Breakfast was nice on the whole however the scrambled eggs were horrid, possibly powered eggs? And was disappointed there were no croissants.
M.
Amazing stay from start to finish. I needed an early check-in which they ensured I got & to my delight I was upgraded to the beautiful suite along with complementary drinks. The staff were professional and helpful. I stay in hotels frequently with business and I can say that’s been the best yet.
