This was a return visit to Clue HQ Birmingham - we've also visited other escape rooms before but always failed! This visit we did 'Cell Block C'. The game was great fun, with some imaginative twists! We actually managed to escape with time to spare, too! The only (slight) criticism was that we found our guide was a bit quick on giving us hints - we didn't get properly stuck at any point so we would have had a greater sense of achievement if we had struggled a bit. Having said that, we have already booked our return visit! By the way, the location is excellent too - any fans of 'Ready Player One' might find the surrounding streets eerily familiar...

We went and did The Hellevator. Such a great and unique experience. Jake our host explained everything in detail and gave us enough clues which made logical sense and gave nothing away. Can highly recommend Clue HQ.

My first escape room, and will be the first of many. I was part of a group of 4 and the other 3 people had all done at least 4 escape rooms before. We did Miyalock, our host Luke was absolutely fantastic, explained everything so even me the newbie could understand, and gave us a few hints along the way when we needed them. It certainly wasn't easy but it was so well thought out, and I'm pleased to say we escaped with only 14 seconds left on the clock. Can't wait to come back, many thanks.

Just want to say from start to finish what a brilliant experience we all had! We were a party of 6, this was our 13th Clue Hq game! We have visited 4 locations of Clue HQ in Manchester, Bury, Warrington & Birmingham, hoping soon to visit the Coventry one! Never had 1 bad experience ever!!! Our host Ananya was lovely and explained things well. The room was extremely hot but super fun and worth the experience, the only gripe I had was that a few times the puzzles didn't work properly which cost us time (Helevator) so it was a bit frustrating and it wasn't as scary as you'd expect considering the name, however I'd definitely recommend, it was a great experience, we did have fun and managed to escape with a few minutes to spare!

Excellent escape room experience, even with the COVID19 Crisis going on. We were safely briefed by an entertaining host (Nathan?) and shown to our escape room. The game itself was tricky and required a lot of team work and thinking. We were provided with good clues by the host who made sure we were progressing through the game. We managed to win the game with 20 seconds to spare and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun family activity thats not physical or strenuous or an activity for work colleagues.

Great fun if you fancy something different. Make sure you take some good friends. Good to test if you can work in a group. We did Bunker 38 which was a good introduction to the escape room. Staff worked hard to be easy going and friendly. Look out for vouchers that bring down the cost for six to a tenner that makes it reasonably priced night out.

Absolutely inspired! We completed captain riddle with 10secs to spare, despite this being our first ever escape room! Loved the clues, and the host Hannah was awesome! Brilliant idea for team building and even better for a bunch of friends who just want to have a giggle! So many surprises and the the storyline really flowed. Perfect location, easily accessible via public transport and road, with good parking near by. Thanks ClueHQ!

Completed the Core room with 1 minute to spare. The crew were very professional and helpful and created a fantastic atmosphere for a fun night out. Sherlock only helped when we really needed it and was a great support. The visuals are modern and story line was great, not sure if youngsters would appreciate it, fantastic for teenagers and above. We have booked to go back and complete another room.

Very good escape room adventure. I've been on several, this was one of the best. Very slick operation, well setup so from arrival we were well looked after. The room was challenging but not too hard, they have varying difficulties so we're going back to work out way through to the hardest challenges. Recommended evening out.

Sherlock and the other host were fab, really got you motivated and excited with their high spirits and energy. The room was challenging, and the hints were gauged just right to avoid you losing the sense of achievement but to avoid you losing the trail. We have been in a few rooms, and enjoyed them all. I recommend at least 3 people in a room. We had two rooms (same) with 3 for an extra sense of competition, but you can have up to 6 people in there if you want. I think a couple of rooms can squeeze more in.

Loved this place. I came with friends and family and we did the ‘Hellavator’ room - we escaped with seconds to spare and really enjoyed the whole experience. The room was really good at keeping it fun and entertaining whilst also increasing the pressure and stakes throughout the challenge. Will definitely revisit and try another room soon

Great fun. Good value if shared out with 6 people. Staff were helpful and explained everything thoroughly. Only downside was that a clue from our game hadn't been put back from previous game, so game host paused the game to put the clue back so not too much of a big deal and quickly resolved.

We did the Hellevator escape room with a group of 4 friends and managed to escape, everything about it: the effects, atmosphere and the staff was superb. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for something different to experience and to challenge your-self. The staff member who was hosting our game was very informative and was very friendly. We're definitely coming back to do the pirate one hopefully!

Fun place, you know what you're getting into. Friendly and engaging staff. Good price but the room we tried was a little basic, maybe reflective of the price. We escaped in 45 mins, no complaints over the complexity as we knew it was an easier room. Just not as engaging with as many things going on in the room as other places.

Had an amazing time here today in the hellavator. Really well thought out and love how many concepts the room has in such a small space. Our games host Lock Zee did an amazing job of creating the scene and also keeping us going in the game, she offered help without ruining the game for us! Can't wait to come back for our next game!!

Loved this experience, went with my family and all of us enjoyed it. It was very realistic and the notice to detail was amazing. we did one of the easiest ones but still struggled so we was not disappointed. Will be going back to do another one. It is a little expensive for what it is but it’s definitely worth going to to get your brains and teamwork going. I think it would be perfect for a company team building exercise for something a little different.

Great fun! I was a little apprehensive at first but the staff make you feel right at home. We did the Hellavator and managed to escape with a few minutes to spare. Place was a little tricky to locate, it's under the bridge near the train station. Hope that helps!

Celebrated my son's 12th birthday. We had a great time! A bit hectic when we got there, however, that all changed when we were greeted by a lovely member of staff called 'Ananya'. She really looked after us. Definitely would recommend bunker 38........great fun!

The atmosphere from finish to end is marvelous. With smoke machines, lighting to match and of course rooms which are made to impress. Without a doubt harder than anticipated but made fun throughout the whole experience. Easy to talk to and friendly staff who are there to ensure you have the best time possible. Fantastic! 6 of us came for my moms birthday and we absolutely loved it! Had to work together to solve clues - you will get very hot and stressed but it's all part of the fun! Will definitely be coming back.

We had a lot of fun, a good thing to do in a larger group (there were 6 of us which was about right). Very cleverly made, the room got very hot though so would bear that in mind, apparently it can also get very cold during winter so dress appropriately!

Such a fun activity! All the puzzles are challenging but not impossible, clues are written to give just enough help. It's not overly expensive when you've got a good size team and the staff were so kind and really worked to ensure we enjoyed ourselves!

Great fun, great challeges Went as a morning activity on a (gentle) stag. We did two rooms, half of us doing each. Both groups managed to escape though only just! The right level of challenge (along with a bit of assistance that was required) We did AI9 and Cell Block. Everyone had a great time and left buzzing, and we had a great time discussing everything in the pub afterwards. For many of us it was our first escape room, and I for one know it wont be my last

This place was an absolute blast! Would not recommend going as one or two people as the prices are fairly high, but in a group of 5-6 the price is much more reasonable. The puzzles were challenging but not too hard and we were able to escape! Looking forward to going back and trying one of the other rooms!

Took our 11 year old and two of his friends. What a fantastic way to spend an hour. We managed to escape with 20 seconds to spare. Not once did the boys get bored and were entertained throughout the hour. Would we come back again. Definitely.

We did the A-I-9 room in a group of 4 (hosted by Vee) and we were impressed. Not super hard but also pretty different puzzles from rooms I have done before so not easy! Clue HQ Birmingham have 3 (nearly 4) rooms all in the same place and induct everyone really efficiently to the different rooms - it's a really cool system. They also do loyalty card and a 'Level Up' promotion which means you can purchase a second room for anytime in the next 3 months for only £49 for up to 6 people!!! Well worth doing as it's really good value. The rooms are really easy to get to from New Street station and parking is free outside on a Sunday.

The room was well themed, the puzzles good. However the last puzzle failed to trigger properly which meant we didn't have the parts to solve it. There were 2 mins left so we had some time. After we finished the host told us that sometimes it didn't work. This was quite annoying. Why are puzzles that don't work probably being run? Spoiled an other wise brilliant experience. What can i say really. The place is exactly what I wanted out of an escape room. The staff where excellent, the atmosphere was great and the puzzles in the room itself where the perfect hardness to pose a challenge but not hard enough to make it frustrating. I would recommend to anyone looking for an intellectual challenge.

Great place but area that its located is rough round the edges with dodgy folks hanging around. Doors wont open till your time which was not very good when we had kids with us. This is why I've rated 3 stars. Game was excellent though

High quality room, varied puzzles and interactive elements, not solely riddles and locks. Staff very friendly, clues when required are given via in game screens which helps to keep the flow of the gane rather than a staff member interrupting like at other escape rooms I've been to.

The place you couldn't fault but the staff were the downside. We had a 40 minute delay and they just didn't know who was who or what they were doing. Overall experience was a 3 star as our person who helped up in our challenge was very pleasant and friendly.

A fantastic amount of fun. We had a deal of £60 for 6 people. This is about right, the full price of £90 is too much. Essentially, you and your friends are locked in a room and need to solve puzzles to exit. If you are the type of person who can communicate with a team, then this is for you.

Played three of the available escape room games so far (A-I 9, Captain Riddle's Treasure and Cellblock C), and all of them were very well crafted, though you need quite some witt to resolve some of the puzzles. I can recommend this place for both visitors and inhabitants.

I really liked it. However did have a bad experience in that a door locked behind me which should not have been locked, so made it difficult to escape, and thus we ran out of time. We said repeatedly the door is locked, but apparently they didn't know. So no 5 stars.

Since problems both times, it seems the place isn't maintained to a high standard so that the experience can be the best possible for the clients. Don't think will be coming back again. We did 'The Betrayal of Cluetankhamun' and overall it was very enjoyable (We escaped...Just!) Most of the puzzels were solvable with a bit of logical and some out of the box thinking, however there were a few 'quirks' that need ironing out. (E.g being to dark to solve a combination lock and the sticks not being a tight fit.)
