What a great night! Dirty dancing movie on a big screen with an orchestra. Who couldn't enjoy themselves? Stewards were helpful, drinks were very expensive, seats were fab! Johnny and Baby 😍 Loved it.
D. T.
Fantastic night, watching Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets. First time at the venue & must say, I'm totally impressed with the whole place. Seating & vision of the stage is superb
D. G.
Great concert hall in Cardiff city centre. There is a car park near by in St Davids shopping centre. The hall is on six levels. Inside the arena there is a great view of the stage from every seat. Acoustics are great. We went to see Billy Ocean.
S. B.
I really like the St David's Hall as an entertainment venue. I've been twice, once to see a music concert and the second to see a comedy performance and they've been great. Staff there are extremely helpful, it's organised and reasonably priced at the bar.
S. C.
We went this evening to see Status Quo live.
It was absolutely perfect.
Amazing Band.
Clean and well presented.
Very organised.
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
P. J.
What a place for live entertainment. The acoustics are second to none. There's not a bad seat at the venue. Easy access and at the heart of the city centre
J. '. M.
Lovely venue with super friendly staff. I found the seating layout to offer very effective view anglings for all tickets. My only complaint is that the merchandise booth was operated by a single person, resulting in a very long queue at the end of the show.
G. F.
Simply stunning venue that puts you into the old opera house it has something around to it everywhere that I went the acoustics seemed absolutely fine and from what I heard from others they are they could see very well and enjoyed the show. Everything around you actually St David's Hall was well organised to and the staff were incredibly polite during this virus time they can show that everybody felt safe I was going to the right place
A. G.
Went to see the Drifters, really enjoyed the show, went straight in picked up tickets no queuing, sat and had a drink before the show, lovely spacious good atmosphere all in all a good evening.
C.
Seats have generous leg room and are staggered for maximum viewing. If you will be in the stalls, would recommend sitting from row F backwards as seating is tiered from that row (ahead of that, if you have a couple of tall people in front of you, even with the staggering you might struggle to see everything!). Staff very helpful.
A. L.
Good venue, good views, friendly staff only downside is on certain events the cloakroom is closed & the bar is a tad expensive even for Cardiff..
D. R.
Nice place, be prepared to walk some steps, as only one lift, with one bubble allowed in a time. Makes for long wait. But apart from them great place, good on COVID rules.
T. R.
Went here to see Roger Taylor. A lovely venue. You could tell that the air was well ventilated. A great place and an absolutely fabulous night.
T. P.
Great auditorium with a nice atmosphere and decent acoustics. The bars and other amenities are generally incredibly dated and a tad reminiscent of a run down hotel. Which is a bit of a shame. The carpets, especially, need to go.
M. C.
Went to see a night in Nashville. Wonderfull experience from start to finish . Amazing to see people out enjoying they're self again.
J. B.
Nice venue which attracts top notch entertainment. Can't help compare it to Wales Millennium Centre which is a stunning venue - St Davids decor and interior feels tired in comparison. Only 1 lift which can cause a wait at times or a lot of stairs for those that can manage it.
D. W.
We went to a gig here, The Classic Rock Show, which was absolutely brilliant. The venue itself is great, always has been. Good bars that actually serve real Bacardi & real Coke.
P.
Saw Dr Hook here and it was brilliant. High up in the 'gods' but good views nonetheless. Drinks pricey but that's standard for these sorts of venues. Really helpful staff
H. M.
A fine concert hall, with superb acoustic . Also has an excellent organ. Home to the Welsh Proms. Recently renewed Aircon gives enhanced comfort, as well as frequent air changes (to combat COVID spread). Friendly, unobtrusive "front of house" staff.
T. R.
Great concert venue. Not a bad seat in the hall. Been there many times and hope to go there many times more. Love the new gin bar.
M. D.
Brilliant night International artist in lea unbelievable talent with a beautiful voice and smile. Would go again tomorrow.
A. H.
Great acoustics! We really loved our evening seeing "Voices for Ukraine". The place could do with a couple more restrooms, especially for females, which became incredibly crammed during the interval.
T. R.
Went here to see Roger Taylor. A lovely venue. You could tell that the air was well ventilated. A great place and an absolutely fabulous night.
D. S.
This really is a fantastic place perfectly positioned in the capital with easy access from the many car parks
B. O.
Lovely experience, fantastic view of the stage, two minutes from parking, brilliant show.
P. H.
Remembering the Oscars..... oh what a fantastic show..... what a beautiful setting as well
I. P.
Went for a show, the venue is large and the chairs comfortable. Clean, accessible, refreshments available. Multiple seat options. All seated, no standing.
B. J.
Always a good night. Much better venue than up the road.
B. D.
4/9/21 Went to see Riverdance but could only see the word Riverd on the stage. The letters were blocked by the curtain not being fully opened. I was told after there was a guy playing the drums on the right hand side. As for the show itself it was fantastic. Those guys done an amazing job.
T. M.
Wonderful Theatre Hall with excellent acoustics and great visibility.
C. G.
First time visiting in March to watch Jimmy Carr. I was pleasantly surprised as I've never visited before and didn't even know it was there. Of course it was busy but service was quick. We had constant reminders that the show was about to begin too so we didn't miss the show.
r. a.
This place is awesome. Spacious, with comfortable seating, lots of bars. Great acoustics and the biggest organ I have ever seen
M. E.
Great acoustics, very clean auditorium it's the place to go for quality listening of music
N. O.
Fabulous sound one of the top ten in the world.
T.
An excellent venue, well organised ticket collection and ushering. Have been to recent organ concerts and hall was cool and well air conditioned
N. L.
Lovely welcoming and helpful staff members and fantastic performances
B. M.
Went to see 10cc perform live, very disappointed. My wife and I had seen 10cc live twice previously, once in Swansea at the Grand theatre and also at the Princess Royal theatre in Porttalbot. On both occasions the performances were excellent. The performance at the St David's Hall fell well below both those occasions, the backing sound was loud and overbearing, it drowned out the vocals. Not sure if this was due to St David's sound control or 10cc support team.
P. H.
Remembering the Oscars..... oh what a fantastic show..... what a beautiful setting as well
A. L.
Excellent venue nice comfortable seats and good all round vision of the stage, and the staff wherever we went were courteous and knowledgeable.
N. E.
Just had an afternoon of Bach's St Matthews Passion. Wonderful. Im so thankful that such wonderful music is available live so near to home
r. a.
Great venue with parking nearby. Acoustics good and always a good wide selection of artists performing here.
K. G.
Great hall. World renowned.
E. H.
Love the seating, doesn't matter where you sit you can see the whole show, always get a lovely vibe when I'm there
D. L.
Great evening watching The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast tour
E.
Excellent staff, however they need to rethink how guests exit the venue, with only one way out, the queues were long and it was a slow process.
A. L.
Went there for the BBC 6 Radio Music Festival...Beautiful venue.
F. C.
Staff really helpful and friendly Venue provides extremely comfortable viewing.
George Benson and band were absolutely wonderful...atmosphere electric ..sensational
P. L.
Just went in to book a concert, The staff were very helpful and friendly the hall was spotless can't wait for the concert.
G. P.
Lovely venue chosen by RWCMD to conduct the graduation ceremony of their students from the last two years (delayed by covid).
A. R.
Great show, doors didn't open until just before the performance and the sound quality was very poor
B. O.
Lovely experience, fantastic view of the stage, two minutes from parking, brilliant show.
b. g. l.
Great night band were excellent only fault we had only one lift waited far to long to get to the ground floor
D. H.
Brilliant venue, very relaxed atmosphere, will definitely go again.
D. H.
There are so many events on in St David’s Hall. The place is a few years old now but that’s part of the character of the place. The seating is great and where ever you sit you feel on top of the stage. Had a great night out. Decent bar prices as well. Definitely looking out for more events to go to here.
P. E.
Good quality sound and very reasonable prices. Very enjoyable experience. Always worth a visit.
M. R.
Good place to see a show but starting to show its age.
Decor and entry way / foyer very dated.
A. G.
Saw the Big girls don't cry show .absolutely amazing 👏 😍.
Very well organised by the very polite efficient staff.
B. j.
A classic central Cardiff venue, suited for all genres.
Design has stood the test of time, several bars, with cloak rooms and several toilets.
Locations suited for inner town parking giving many options.
As a venue, have seen musicians and comedian play here with acoustics sounding right for all.
Highly recommend giving them a like on Facebook to keep abridged of upcoming events.
M. D.
Brilliant night International artist in lea unbelievable talent with a beautiful voice and smile. Would go again tomorrow.
J. S.
Very nice acoustics and a community feel to this hall. We're lucky to have it here in Cardiff. We thoroughly enjoyed going to the family concert with the symphony together.
L. P.
It was very nice to be out. I was still nervous with crowds. What got me was not everyone was wearing mask as telephonist said when walking around wear it. Why wasn't people watching and asking people to do so.
s. m.
Went here to an Elvis tribute, absolutely brilliant. Great place with good facility's
A. W.
Always a great experience at this venue the staff are always friendly and accommodating. This is my favourite venue in Cardiff and the perfect size so easy to get in and out with ample services.. My only negative comment would be that alcoholic drinks are expensive.
T. S.
Great sound. Brilliant view. Nice atmosphere. Sensible COVID measures.
G. L.
The hall the staff and the ballet was superb. But the only thing that let's it down is the dissabilty accsess you firstly can't park any where near for some one who has problems walking its not good. There is only 1 small lift inside the building.
L. T.
Such a gem in the heart of Cardiff. The staff are lovely and try to keep things moving as best they can. I've been here plenty of times for various things and never had any issues.
S. W.
We were up on level 6 and it was awful. The acoustics were awful. Had to be moved to a lower tier. Couldn't hear the music and the words of the songs.
p. s.
Nice concert hall comfortable seating and good acoustics.
M. A.
Love going to St Davids hall. The concerts I've seen over the years
F. S.
Great concert hall, the seats are well worn but I still comfortable and love it. The Kingdom Choir were outstanding. 🕊💖🕊
K. A.
Great concert. Lovely venue with the best acoustics. Great variety of entertainment. Highly recommend.
A. B.
Great for going to watch something. However they really really need to do something to stop all the able bodied people in the gods from using the DISABLED LIFT! It took me almost an hour to get out.
D. S.
This really is a fantastic place perfectly positioned in the capital with easy access from the many car parks
D. R.
Been here many times, but this was the first time since pre-pandemic. Went with my wife to see the amazing Katherine Jenkins, had front row seats. A spectacular performance. The venue is in need of a refurbishment, as its dated and needs a lick of paint along with new seats.
F. T. s.
Friendly staff not terrible bar prices, got shown to the wrong seat but the staff were apologetic and nice about it. Wonderful show even from the cheap seats!
C. W.
A great concert hall in the city centre, fabulous sound , comfy seats and great surroundings a very enjoyable experience.
C. H.
We love St David's Hall. We love see all the gigs. We can get home in 30 mins from leaving the hall NOTHING NOT TO LOVE
J. B.
Fantastic show, nice venue, we had drinks on the balcony.
S. S.
A great venue for most acts
S. J.
Lovely concert venue but a shame there were not more people there
A. L.
Fabulous seating, great views from every angles Comfortable seats.Great staff.Very organised..Easy access..
l. b.
Excellent evening listening to 'A night at the movies'. Staff very friendly and helpful so thank you to them. The orchestra and conductor were brilliant. Thank you to them
J. P.
Great venue with helpful staff. I have both performed in and watched events here, and I feel it's a great place with a real variety of cultural offerings and facilities.
M. W.
Brilliant night of entertainment with Dr Hook in this great theatre. It was good to be back after so many months locked down.
W. C.
Amazing concert by London Concert Orchestra. Staff were friendly and helpful however, it took a little while to get everyone into their seats as they didn't open all the entrances and only used one.
L. B.
I went to a drag show, this was my second time there. I have found it such a place of love acceptance, caring and warmth.
Loved the show, love the venue. I have a hynt card (free to disabled people who need a carer. The carer then gets in free with the disabled person paying for themselves) this has opened access to me to many other Art and other places around Wales. You can see the closeness from the stage for the disabled seats is very reasonable. Love it there. For the disabled specialist toilets these are in both the ladies and gentlemen's toilets not separate! An excellent friendly facility.
D. L.
Fabulous venue for live music. I saw Kelly Jones there. I bought my tickets very late and could only get Restricted Viewing seats so expected the worst but I was pleasantly pleased with my seating arrangements. Great night, well organised and a very convenient location in town.
T. L.
Great venue although there was a huge queue for the toilets during the interlude.
J. J.
It is a great venue, great location and a beautiful theatre. However, at Jonathan Pie there were quite a few drinks in the audience. The girl in front of me was passing out she was so drunk, a drunk guy kept shouting out and the guy next to me stunk of alcohol. The venue SHOULD NOT allow people like this to enter the theatre, no use saying they didn't know cause the people around me were obviously drunk
K. D.
Amazing hall. Always excellent performers. And staff lovely.
A. D.
Really good night out, ( Fleetwood mac concert) the sound was amazing
V. A.
Amazing acoustics. Great drinks selection at the bar. Friendly staff.
T.
Saw the Werq The World Tour here, had the higher up balcony seats as they were cheaper than other seating options. Was worried that due to paying less we may not have had a good view, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Was an absolutely amazing view and show.
Lovely venue with good views of the stage even if you end up seated on the higher floors on the side.
Well worth a visit!
I. F.
One of my favourite venues for live acts, seen comedians and bands here and it's always a great atmosphere. You're never too far away like in some places. Big enough (2000 seats) but still fees like a cosy involved atmosphere.
G. S.
Went to see the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama's concert 'Festive Brass' performed by the Royal Welsh College Brass Band conducted by Dr Robert Childs. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
A. K.
Great live music venue in the centre of Cardiff. Nice friendly staff too.
R. C.
Beautiful, big hall, we saw Dylan Morgan and he was fab.
M. O.
Visited Fireman Sam. A fire engine was placed outside for kids to have a photo. Staff were friendly by pushchairs and doors to the venue. St David's did "not" enforce mask wearing.
J. S.
Brilliant venue. Good sound and you are close to the stage. Great selection of events to suit everyone. Parking near aswell.
G. W.
Great Venue, friendly staff, great range of entertainment
H. O. G.
Amazing venue, very disabled friendly to, fantastic acoustics for live music, friendly staff a top venue,
R. H.
Saw John Bishop, and Ray Bradshaw supporting act, great evening and a lovely show.
R. C.
I went here to see Paul smith and may I say he was absolutely amazing 👏 and I can defo say I'd go to see him again and the place was massive and the staff were very very helpful 😀
A. W.
Attended a concert, and was really surprised that the entire audience were seated next to each other while half the seats were completely empty, and most people were not wearing masks.
Given the current high levels of covid in Wales I would have thought mask wearing should be compulsory and the audience should have been more spaced out, using the empty tiers.
T. H. M.
Always appreciate It David's Hall. The concert venue presents a good aray of entertainment and I go there regularly and always enjoy the time.
R. S.
Had a great night seeing Johnny hates jazz supporting headlining Level 42. Great venue and great staff running it. Nothing was too much trouble.
n. e.
Please please please big shout out to Sheila we attended the Stylistics on 23rd i was in a wheelchair on level six. This lady took my sisyers down to level 3 and seated us by the stage what a brillient employee you have, she even checked we got the lift ok after the concert deserves a pay rise thank you so very very much
J. P.
Enjoyable experience, accomodating friendly staff, great atmosphere.
Lack of toilets ( large queues during interval) and large queues for bar area. Tired upholstery.
8.
Went to see Jonathan Pie.
Really nice clean venue, great location, staff really friendly, seating comfy, loads of toilets.
All round a great night.
P.s. I parked in Knox Street £5 for the day x
B. C.
Seats were excellent good view of the stage. Service at the bars was good. Organisation excellent. Rumours Fleetwood mac were brilliant. Will certainly go again.
K. E.
Lovely old hall with great acoustics. Seats are so uncomfortable though!
s. l.
Very easy access to the venue from St davids car park, nice place, really enjoyed the show ( love actually with a live orchestra) the acoustics in the building was fabulous and our seats which were up in the gods were very comfy and we had a perfect view, will def visit again
R. W.
Decent enough venue, albeit looking a bit tired. Friendly staff.
A. C.
Very well organised. Fantastically helpful, knowledgeable and polite staff members. Spotless clean.
P. C.
A very fine performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion which I enjoyed immensely
C. P.
A great venue with good acoustics and a good viewing experience.
Courteous staff, parking a reasonable evening rate and close by.
C. J.
I've bern to several gigs at SDH over the past few months and it's a great venue with excellent acoustics. My only gripe - and it happened when we went to see Bjorn Again (who are brilliant by the way!) last week is being able to get up and dance and have some fun. I mean you HAVE to get up and dance to ABBA! But my friend was tapped on the shoulder by a woman sat behind her and told in no uncertain terms to sit down. Loads were up dancing at the time too. Ideally St David's Hall, please can there be an area where people who want to dance can, without the fear of being reprimanded? We would have danced in the aisle but you're not allowed to do that either!
V. H.
The cheap tickets 🎟 were well worth the view. Excellent ballet adaptation of Swan Lake
S. M.
Always enjoy attending concerts here, it is an amazing place
C. O.
In Covid times, a delight to enjoy a chill experience. We dutifully provided our Covid pass & ticket details at entrance, then end of admin. Even had time to enjoy a pint on the rooftop balcony before a superb concert from Nick Cave & Warren Ellis. Live music is back!
C. D.
Had a wonderful show top class staff where helpful on arrival could not fault
M. D.
Great experience good seats, Entertainment excellent
J. C.
Great shows, always something to suit all tastes, fab atmosphere
K. B.
Good large venue. Not the best for legroom for a tall person but far from the worst. One small lift makes it a nightmare for people with mobility problems to get in or especially with the many floors.
m. r.
Saw Sarah Millican here a few weeks back, the staff were really friendly and very happy to talk. The problem is the venue just sort of feels worn out, like it’s in desperate need of some freshening up with new carpets or something. Also, just use the cloak room, it’s only 50pence and it means you’re not sat with it on your snug seat 😁
The location is brilliant for restaurants, parking and train station. You really couldn’t put it in a better place.
When we left there were few beggars after your change, but they seemed quite polite. It was just a surprise to be greeted as you left the building with four or five of them...
S. P.
Good sound system even though we were up high still had excellent view of stage
W. D.
A beautiful venue with an excellent range of shows. The bars are lovely and quite reasonably priced. I highly recommend seeing:
The BBC National Orchestra/Chorus of Wales.
The Russian State Ballet of Siberia accompanied by the Russian State Ballet Orchestra.
The many international orchestras which visit the venue each year.
A. K.
I went there last February as I got a ticket of Russle Brand show, the place is lovely witg many food and drink options. Surprisingly, it is too big inside unlike how it looks like from outside!!!
S. H.
Great venue, well managed, and the staff are amazing.
D. B.
Saw Kathryn Ryan here and it was brilliant. Bit expensive at the shop for snacks though
S. W.
Its looking a little 'worn' but is very comfortable with good visibility,
A. J. B. (. J.
I sang here and was made to feel very welcome. The dressing room was immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Amazing sound and an amazing atmosphere. Definately an experience I will never forget.
C. N.
Went for a TMS special with Aggers, Tuffers, Vic Marks and Henry Moran. A good night put
L. C.
Just watched The Classic Rock Show. What an amazing night out. Superb!!!
A. W.
Excellent Acoustics, Seating Comfortable And Staff Very Helpful.
D. M.
It's such a lovely place when it is found . We and a few other people walked past the entrance as there were no signs about to say where or the entrance to the hall was. Cardiff doesn't have many sign post to say the way.
R. S.
Awesome show. Drinks prices a bit steep though
A. S.
Good little venue with good shows easily accessible.
J. F.
Great venue. We were in tier 7 which is on the side and above, great view and sound. I'd suggest not getting the front row, some people on the front row Infront of us moved back a row and seemed to me more happy. We saw 'The Classic Rock Show' which were really good, I've gone to better gigs but still enjoyed (some songs I didn't know so little disappointed). Good bar and facilities only 4 star because the show I saw weren't amazing.
S. G.
Enjoyed the lecture that was showing, seat was firm and comfort, with decent leg room.
The only negative is that the building is now looking shabby . A new building would be ideal.
S. J.
Great venue, visited it many times over the past 20 or more years. Staff are very helpful. This time was to see Level 42, they were brilliant.
S. M.
Amazing loved this place, easy to get to. Great time.
E. C.
Good venue
Comfortable seating
Clean toilets
J. T.
Excellent performance of The Nutcracker. Covid safety measures all adhered to. Felt very safe.
L. S.
Great place for a concert, all seats have great views. Clean and tidy I would recommend to friends and will return.
J. G.
Heavily overdue a refurb but great venue nonetheless
C. C.
Great evening 4 of us all had a good night
I. D.
Went to see The good the bad the rugby 🏉. Excellent ten out of ten
T. A.
Here for the annual Scratch Concert. Singing soprano along with about 300 others voices, accompanied by a 250 strong orchestra. Amazing noise.
N. P.
Great venue and lovely staff that are really helpful
H. D.
Cardiff's city centre concert hall is ideal for large events - the auditorium has great acoustics and a clear view of the stage from just about everywhere. The seats could be a bit more comfortable, but they're still better than some other venues. The range of events is wide and varied and some smaller acts sometimes perform on Level 3 just outside the main auditorium.
A. R.
Riverdance 25th Anniversary Show at the marvellous St David's Hall was amazing... especially in the front row seats of the stalls! Fantastic experience!
L. R.
Visited for the Luther show. Nice sized venue.
B. G.
My daughter sang in the choir for her school, an amazing occassion in a fabulous venue
N. C.
Awesome venue, alot bigger than I can remember it , since I was a kid, will be looking out for more shows at this venue
N. B.
Seen couple of show know great venue
S. P.
Fantastic place for concerts, took my elderly mum and everything was really easy with the wheelchair and helpful and friendly staff 😀
K. W.
Love this place. Good shows. Staff friendly. Although alot of people you never seem to cue long ( only for women's loos but that's normal anywhere)
C. T.
Beautiful theatre but lacking a few modern conveniences such as card payment and escalators. Well kept and helpful staff
T. R.
Went to see Nick Cave, good seating, great view, superb acoustics and excellent Covid guidelines - great night out in the centre of Cardiff.
M. C.
The most beautiful acoustical extravaganza.
I saw Madam Butterfly there a couple of years ago.
I honestly thought that the cast were wearing microphones. Lol
G. R.
Great experience from start to end of night, well done.
K. B.
Loved the show, One Night in Nashville
M. P.
Excellent concert and lovely staff. Poor coffee I'm afraid to say.
J. D.
Excellent venue for a concert. Smaller and more intimate than many concert halls. Acoustics are amazing. Has a gin bar, only downside is they only had one person serving at this bar who whilst friendly and knowledgeable about the different gins was extremely slow at serving. Though they do have another bar where service is far quicker.
D. P.
Love St. David's hall. Fabulous as usual, great venue. Toilets need sprucing up though.
V. H.
Wonderful auditorium light and sound perfect
A.
Only 4 stars as I think the bar prices and snacks are ridiculously overpriced.
Still a great venue, been many times and many more to come I'm sure.
a. W.
Regular visitor to this venue to see bands and other genre of acts.
L. H.
Very good experience generally however the security attendants were toothless in dealing with persons obstructing the views of people who paid good money to see the show.
D. W. M.
Wonderful venue, a more intimate vibe due to the way the seating is arranged into unique tiers which means everyone gets a good view. Acoustics are fantastic as well so you get a great sound wherever you sit or stand (this of course is highly reliant on the artist having good audio equipment!). Been here many times, most recently to see Deacon Blue who were superb.
Nice selection of bars dotted across a few floors with plenty of room for standing whilst awaiting the start of each show. Friendly bar staff is always a bonus.
Well worth a visit if you've never been 👍
G. M.
Great concert space for any type of event. I believe the inside was designed with acoustics being one of the top priorities so music events are especially good. Seating blocks are steeply tiered ensuring everyone gets a good view. If you are six foot plus avoid the first row in any block as legroom will be limited.
J. W.
Amazing show Stylistics Staff worked hard in making our evening as lovely as possible well done x
b. r.
Brilliant night, band encourage you dance at front security telling you off, at end loads of people down front and band love it
C. C.
Tickets for concert never sent to me went to St Davids Hall explaining the situation and they printed me some tickets with no fuss.
Fantastic staff Fantastic venue.
P. H. L.
An ideal theatre. Well planned. Spacious without feeling too crowded even when most seats are taken. It is possible to socialise before and after performance also during intervals. Visibility is good wherever you sit, stage and performers can be followed. Everything is audible and enjoyable. Ballet was superb a first class presentation. Almost perfect.
J. A.
Jamie Cullen was out of this world. Acoustics were amazing in St David's comfortable seats and staff helpful.
N. 9.
Love the theater as a venue for live music ... Never been disappointed where ever l have sat for a Gig ... Excellent acousitcs too !
i. j.
Great show amenitites really good too
P. S.
Great concert on level 3,I loved being close to the performers.
Polite bar staff.
S. D.
A beautiful yet cozy place that has great acoustics. Shows there feel intimate and special and no matter where you sit you'll always have a great view of the stage. The prices are reasonable and there's never much congestion when leaving. It's my favourite place to see shows in Cardiff.
D. L.
Excellent venue for shows and concerts, book early for best seats!
S. K.
The concert we attended was excellent, helped by the great acoustics. However the rest of the venue leaves quite a lot to be desired; dated and shabby, which does detract from the experience. The bar is on the expensive side - but not extortionate, however some of their bottled beer had gone bad. Disabled access was acceptable but not brilliant, could really do with another lift as there is only one small one currently - seating is quite good though, close to the front.
All in all if there is something on you want to attend don't let the venue dissuade you, but just be aware it's no Albert Hall.
A. P.
What a fantastic music venue. I was there for an acapella singing competition last weekend, and the acoustics were incredible. Really friendly staff, the bar was open until late each night and the facilities were good too. We'll be back for the competition next year and I'm looking forward to it already!
C. S.
Lovely theater and Carmen was absolutely brilliant
T. K.
Clean, tidy, pleasant helpful staff and good show, well stocked bar
S. L.
Great music venue, echo's a bit for stand up comedians but still can be heard.
C. A.
Went on 4th March to see the amazing Ward Thomas. Very nice venue, and none of the seats are too far from the stage. Bar areas are nice and clean with seating available and a reasonable selection of drinks at fair prices.
A great evening was had, and I'd certainly go again depending on what is on.
C. R.
Great venue and lovely staff
A. P. (.
Four of us went to watch Steve Hackett, and even Mr H commented about have brilliant the venue was. While it's been around a few years now, it still seems up there with the newer venues. The bar is well staffed during breaks and good selection. Plenty of room to circulate. Recommended
A. J.
Really great venue. Seating was comfortable and offered wonderful views of the stage.

The old war horse plods on!! The hall has some of the best acoustics around!!!! Great venue for an intimate show with your favourite artists, definitely a better experience than big cavernous venues with no soul where you end up watching the big screen.
Highly recommended.
Dated building inside and out hence the near perfect 4 star but still gets the job done. Would recommend.
L. B.
It has a wonderful auditorium, acoustics are good and the seating tiers are steep enough to allow a good view of the stage from every level. The reason I don't give it 5 stars is it only has one, tiny, lift. Since the seating starts on level 3 and goes up to level 6, if you are disabled you end up queueing to use it.
G. F.
Seems that there are good views from pretty much all seating areas. Good place.
A. W.
The bands we saw (Squeeze and Heaven 17) were immense, but the venue doesn't seem quite right for bands as the sound was a bit tricky...the acoustics, I feel, are designed for orchestras. However, we had a fab time!
H. L.
Lovely venue. Not too big and staff are so obliging.X
J. M.
Dated looking building from the outside but a nice building inside and has a good ammount of seating. Drinks at the bar are very expensive and there isn't much seating in their waiting area but there are standing places where you can put drinks. The main theatre area is large and slightly dated looking but it's still a good venue for most events.
L.
Great range of shows in a lovely theatre, if you have mobility needs the best place to sit is on the lower floors as there are lots of steps especially when busy it can become crammed. Food and drinks are reasonably priced and great location right in the city centre.
H. W.
Brilliant concert and venue.
M.
Had a great night here. The seats are comfortable and the view is great. They also have very good acts. Will be returning in January to see paul smith. Staff were all very friendly! The only criticism is I couldn't get a beverage in the break due to the massive que that didnt seem to go down but that attributes to the quality of the acts they have as the event was sold out. All in all a great place to go!
C. P.
Great acoustic sound no matter what your musical tastes! Great views from every seat!
G. C.
Great venue for my daughter's Christmas county orchestra concert.
M.
Handy central venue with good parking and close to shops. However bands and pop groups are much too loud and could damage your hearing. Be selective in your choice of production. I think the sound engineers should tone it down considerably. Spoiled the experience for me.
M. G.
Love this venue. Good views from most places, although if you are in the top tiers it is very steep! Love the stalls though as most of these are tiered too..
Lovely staff, friendly and helpful ( I think most are volunteers)
P. K.
It's a good concert venue, but we were in Tier 12 and we had 91 steps to climb - and then go down again afterwards!!! I have arthritis in both knees, so not an easy task for me. There are a couple of small lifts, but nowhere near enough for the number of people there. The queues for the lifts were longer than the queue for the ladies toilets after the concert! Also, in the past we have had a restricted view, which hadn't been stated when we'd booked tickets for a lower tier. Not a place I look forward to going to, but these tickets were a present - and we did enjoy the concert
A. H.
Really clean and staff were very nice and helpful made the Beth Heart concert more enjoyable
A. d. S.
Intimate if not a little tired looking... Comfy seating..
K. G.
Clean, fairly comfy, great shows. There was a good selection of drinks at the bar. Lots of toilets kept queues down. Love the display of old shows when you go in, really gave a sense of history to the place
A. N.
Good quality concert hall though starting to look a little worn around the edges. It has a brilliant acoustic and very friendly staff. It's also a more interesting layout of seats than a boring set of stalls and balconies. Queues for the toilets can be really quite bad (especially for the ladies!) so go before you get there if you can. There's plenty of places very nearby to have a pre dinner meal and lots of places to park. Be careful if there's also an event on at the motorpoint arena or stadium as traffic and parking can become impossible - it once took me three hours to get out of the car park!
l. l.
I went to see Adam Ant here, only took 35 years to see him. Myself and old school friends were like teenagers again but this time we were able to go to the bar. ! Drinks are reasonably priced. Good view although would had liked to be on lower level, tickets went quick.
a. w.
A really good place to visit & see shows by various artists. The hall has excellent acoustics and it's not too big, which allows the sounds to carry throughout
the hall. Seating is excellent, with few seats having restricted viewing.
T. M.
Fabulous stylistics show. Got front row seats for my disabled mum who also has macular degeneration and audience member's blocked her view by dancing in front of the stage. She is 88 and has loved this band for a long time. Wish people were more considerate. Apart from that staff and facilities were very good.
S. M.
The Glenn Miller concert was amazing! I need say no more than that. Wherever they go, if you haven't seen them before then I highly recommend that you do. A legendary big band!
J. M.
I have been to St David's Hall many times both as a performer and as an audience member. The staff are always very hospitable and helpful to any queries you may have and you as the customer or performer are always treated well in my experience. There is a variety of shows on throughout the year in varying genres and types of performances, being the regular home of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and becoming home to visiting Choirs, Comedians and household names. There are always snacks available to purchase and a bar for drinks, however, these are quite expensive for the products being sold, although this is expected being an in-house bar.
T. R.
The concert was outstanding but the seats and legroom was ridiculously small
S. P.
Great concert venue with comfortable seats great views and excellent acoustics.
A. G.
Excellent show and I felt safe there.
S. G.
An older building not really that suited for concerts to be sure. Do not sit anywhere down the front stalls as the seats are all directly behind each other on a flat floor so you just end up looking at the back of someones head.
Adequate food and drink facilities, but nothing special and the usual overpriced fare available.
Overall this building needs some refurbishing and the floor layout of the seating changing, but it does for small shows and concerts.
A. L.
Great venue to see & hear live music 🎻🎼🎶
G. J.
Excellent concert, well run.
Could do with more leg room but that's my problem really !!!!!
J. W.
This might be my new favourite "local" concert venue. The interior layout offers some great views of the stage and the seating is pretty comfy, but it does smell a bit like old tablecloths that have been in the loft.
Organisation was great-our tickets had which level, door and seat location we needed printed on them, but astute ticket inspectors noticed the door had been printed incorrectly and asked if they could have one of the tickets so they could take the matter up with the box office. They also thought the word 'tier' had been spelt incorrectly, but I quickly reminded them about the I before E, except after C…(and a load of other exceptions), so they let that one go.
Very much enjoyed the show (Marillion) and had no problems taking my own food and drink in.
Departure after the show was swift, and I was out amongst the drunken sprawl of Cardiff City Centre in less than 5 minutes.
Only complaint was the temperature of the hot water in the toilets. Yes, there are signs to warn you it is extremely hot, but what is the point of having water that's hot enough to boil an egg in, when all you really want to do is wash your hands?
R.
Wonderful venue, fantastic acoustics, genuinely lovely staff and the most fabulous array of varying performances to delight any age, interest, or tastes.
However, the seats in the auditorium have seen many, many better days! Both mine and my mother's seats were sloping down towards the floor! I'm very disappointed that the seating, lifts & toilets haven't yet been upgraded.
As a disabled patron, with my elderly mother, we have found it extremely difficult to enjoy our visits here. Especially when we're so uncomfortable during the performance. We were most embarrassed in attempting to get out of our seats after the performance had finished...there was simply no support in the base of the seats!
(Such a shame!)
S. G.
Nicely located in central Cardiff. They also now sell ice cream in the intervals so keep some free kcals for them if you want a sweet bite.
Been there on many occasions and the seats are comfortable and viewing angles unimpeded by adjacent rows of seats. Good views of the stage from everywhere.
A. F.
Went to see The Greatest Showman sing along and was a great fun night. Bag of props to use, lots of audience participation but most of all loads of songs to sing. Would highly recommend.
M. P.
Fabulous acoustics, comfy seating with a fair bit of leg room for the taller. Wheelchair user friendly with staff who offer assistance if needed. Car parking is reasonably priced and is only a couple of hundred paces away, in St. Davids centre.
A. R.
Staff extremely helpful (I use a rollator walking aid). Positioning of the hall involves quite a walk to get there from nearest drop off point. Once there, seats are quite comfortable and ice cream was gorgeous and not too expensive!!
d. w.
Brilliant venue and show.
R. G.
I love this venue, it just has such a warm feel to it. The staff are brill and always happy to chat to you no matter what the hour (late gigs). Last here for Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson who was hilarious and his daughter is just as funny.
Photo of a group of us with Jen Wilson
B. T.
We had isle seats in the stalls 2/3 back, we found this to be an ideal position as the eye level was perfect. We could see all the action. The venue was easy to access, but it was a lot of steps.
M. S.
Incredible acoustics!
C. H.
Lovely and clean . Watched Shakin'Stevens here. Bar open, lots of space to wait for theatre doors to open. Stage is low, the seats could do with some TLC. And usher staff (one male one in particular, bit of a jobsworth!)
Overall nice place to watch a legend live.
J. P.
Great venue for a show. Seating and vision good no matter what tier. Bar area and toilet facilities good. Tickets for concerts and shows good value. In a good central location near hotels and restaurants.
S. L.
Still great acoustics but some of the seats are looking a bit tired
A. W.
Great show and lovely experience
L. O.
Brilliant evening at the Cymru Awards ceremony. Champagne and lovely event.
R. E.
First visit tonight an excellent venue clean organised superb staff good spaces to move around on all the floors
A. G.
Bootleg Beatles were amazing. Getting in was very smooth
S. “.
Brilliant clean staff great very helpful।
Z.
I always enjoy this venue, it has good all round facilities. Welcoming staff and the water and sweets are a reasonable price. Toilets are clean and tidy. Parking isn't a problem as there is plenty available in the St. Davids shopping centre, which isn't very far away, the charges are pretty low also.
B. D.
As always, the atmosphere is relaxed, the staff extraordinarily pleasant and attentive. Comfortable seats, brilliant performances by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Llyr Williams, conducted by Jan Steen (is that right?). What more could anyone want? How lucky we are.
P. H.
A good concert venue which has good all round viewing areas not to far from the stage. Plenty of refreshment areas. A good acoustic sound with a intermate feel. Recommended.
M. T.
It's OK if you are visiting for something usually seated. Not so good to see a band especially if they are a rock band as you are stuck to your seat and I found it a really detached lack lustre experience. The seat becomes uncomfortable after a while. I also found security quite rude on both occasions I've seen a band here. I wouldn't see another at this venue. The bar is expensive too.
M. D.
Friendly helpful staff and have a good disability policy of looking after the disabled
D. B.
Have seen a wide variety of acts in St David's. Always clean and friendly, just lacks a bit of atmosphere.
J. H.
Great ace for Graduation ceremony with good view from seats. Seating arrangement very odd and difficult if of limited mobility. Seats very small legroom. I'd be concerned there would be problems if ever an evacuation was required
M. P.
Always a great venue for watching comedy, music and live entertainment gigs. Never disappoints and well placed in Cardiff town centre to book end your night with a few drinks or a meal.
K. E.
Felt safe. Love the venue. Feels intimate as not too big.
M. R.
Saw Jimmy Carr what a night, didn't stop laughing.
a. l.
I was invited to a Christmas carol service, with a full orchestral accompaniment, it was magical, there was well over 300 voices and that was with out the audience.
Saint Davids hall was well organised ,with a lift on hand to get to the different levels.
We didn't take advantage of the bar at the intervals, however there was a seller walking round with refreshments.
The only down side was the parking arrangements, which is made worse this time of the year.
m. R.
Very well organized event regarding covid awareness
W. C.
I always enjoy an evening at St Davids Hall, it's a friendly atmosphere andthe staff try to help people, enjoy the experience. The hall it's self is well laid out with good viewing of stage you feel close to the artist, the acoustics are top quality and make for an all round good experience, l do think the seating however has seen better days my seat was badly frayed with the sponge showing on the arm rest and the seat was well worn after an hour l wanted to stand apart from that it was very good.
J. R. (.
Lovely place to see a show
D. W.
Great place to see any show, every seat has a great view
K. A.
Amazing venue, could see the stage from any angle,. bars on every level was fantastic didn't feel packed with crowded people, toilet facilities clean. Well mannered staff and very helpful.
F. B.
Level 3 concerts cosy and fairly intimate. Bar prices stupidly expensive. I usually go to the Glassworks pub as it's only a 3 minute journey from the hall including going down the escalators. Much better value and usually enough time to get 1 drink in the interval.
M. E.
Mike + the Mechanics concert - simply brilliant!
p. R.
Great Hall, visited yesterday first lunchtime concert classic music, and a much enjoyed by silver surfers.
R. S.
My favourite concert hall. The layout makes anywhere a good seat. Love the traditional feel of the place , with the ushers and cloak station.
B. D.
Great place for music - comfortable seating, great acoustics and helpful staff.
D. 1.
I'd give it a higher score but the access to the upper levels is surprisingly poor, by modern standards, for disabled, elderly, & infirm people.
S. C.
Unusually small and quite scary from the upper balconies, and I don't have any problems with height!!
C. H.
I went to watch my daughter perform with the African choir and it was fabulous. Lots of energy, the seats were in prestige condition and there was a very happy feeling flowing through the air
B. S.
Lovely acoustics but the venue is very "functional" looking and is starting to show its age. Has rather a school Assembly Hall vibe which isn't the best!
T. O. T.
28th Dec .18 I went with my son to see these an Lake at st David's Hall. Tickets booked well in advance so we arrived 20 mins before the show and were directed up stairs if we didn't want to use the cloak room for our winter coats. Snack area and toilets all had cues of just a couple of mins but to be expected .. large bar area available for those wanting alcoholic drinks. Once sat in our seats we had a couple of mins to chat before the prompt start at 7. Good view from my seat till a 6'2" guy sat in front of me then I was stuffed and had to play dodge view..( if he moved then I did the opposite .). Amazing performance by the Russian philermonic orchestra and ballet troupe. Well worth the dodge view. .. £37 for the seats so worth it for my son and his wife and other guests bug not so good if you ended up behind a big person ..
D.
The venue is good, some seats not that comfortable anymore though and the organisation wasn’t that great. It seemed half of the staff didn’t know what they were doing and if you asked three different people you got three different answers. But all in all everything went well and I had a great time.
N. B.
Catrin and Seko were magnificent.
K. P.
Beautiful hall. Fantastic acoustics. Drinks from the bar are expensive.
G. H.
Excellent venue. Good acoustics and no bobbing heads in front of you. All venues should have similar seating arrangements.
C. D. S.
Covid pass checked before entry. Masks worn when moving about. Air changed every 10 minutes.
L. S.
Excellent venue, comfy seats and a fabulous night of Welsh music. Catrin Finch was incredible as was the Tenor. St David's day concert did not disappoint.
D. H.
Best venue in Cardiff for bands
D. O.
Always a brilliant venue. City centre location povides all the relevant amenities along with excellent transport links. The ballet finished quite late and some people where intimidated by the beggars waiting on the doors steps.
T. M.
The whole experience was Brilliant went to see Dr.Hook
T. B.
Superb auditorium ideally suited to acoustic performances for which it was designed. Certainly retains its reputation as a top venue in the classical music world.
h. a.
Nice theatre, central Cardiff location, near to many hotels and restaurants, the theatre has a good range of snacks and drinks, we had front row seats but think you'd have good view from all seats, good toilet facilities and you can book pre show drinks for the interval to beat the rush,
I. G. S.
Good night! Went to see Swan Lake last year and it was really good. Prices for drinks before the show were a bit steep, but hey it was the ballet!
Would go again, the price for the show was good too!
S. G.
It's ok but the building is so tired. Could do with a refurbishment. But it's part of its charm.
K. T.
My husband and I went to st David's hall to see Rob Beckett last night, we first found that the staff are very helpful on showing us to our seats etc. This 1 young man went above and beyond after finding out that we had turned up a day late (oh the shame haha) instead of saying "sorry you missed it" (or something along those lines) he searched to find us different seats so we didn't miss the show. All the staff were understanding and accommodating, cannot fault them at all. We are looking forward to returning in the near future. Thank you.
D. E.
Easy to find. It's got a couple of bars one is a gin bar at the top. I took my wife there to see Lee mack and Dave Mitchell and Rob Brydon. Very big inside and we had a great night.
K. J.
Great venue for shows
M. W.
A fantastic venue with reasonable to expensive drinks. Staff went out of their way to accommodate my friend and I. We went to see the Jonathan Pie fake news tour. Fantastic seats and price of ticket too
L. H.
Some staff were very friendly and helpful. some were not. Too many people allowed to stand and block the view of others for too long and use phones to record which was distracting. Stage security need to learn about the artists and how they do things, especially when they play there regularly otherwise they are heavy handed at the wrong times.
M. J.
Nice venue, comfortable seating. Has a bar if u fancy a drink. Centre of Cardiff. Car parks near by. Most of them 10min walk more.
R. C.
Fabulous seats to see an amazing show
N. 1.
Pretty good prices on the alcohol
L. T.
A really nice theatre. The only problem was the interval was too short for all the women to access toilets - queues were dire. Despite pre-ordering our interval drinks we didn't have chance to drink them before we had to go back to our seats.
S. E.
Only one lift. Great shows.
Dr Jook was brilliant.
The lift problem is dreadful.
L. -. L. S.
We went to watch the Cindirella ballet and it was lovely. Very nice venue. You are able to purchase snacks and drinks. There seem to be toilets on every level. Disabled access -luft, escalator, ramps.
S. O.
A great venue for concerts and events, nestled right in the heart of Cardiff City Centre... I saw an amazing performance of Handel's Messiah with period instruments, and the acoustics were absolutely incredible!
L.
I love the programme here; they really ought to be better supported - it would help to keep the prices down. The Welsh Proms are the BEST! They have all sorts of music & concerts here. The reason they've dropped a star is because the facilities are tired & the lift not very good. There are too few spaces for wheelchairs & only in the dearest seats so, while the 'pusher' is catered for along with the wheelchair user, any other members of the party will have a very expensive outing. This can prevent large parties from booking if one of their members is wheelchair-bound; I can't book for a group because of the high costs incurred; when I'm on my own, I can do all the steps necessary to get into the awkward seats. Friends of mine, though ambulant, are still unable to do all the steps. The place needs to be updated and refurbished to make it more accessible.
T. G.
Great venue, great sound, could have been a bit more PA/speakers focused to the top isles, other than that, great staff, security helped me as much as they could when I needed it. Still 5*. Thank you
D. D.
Rock clàssics show.was excellent. First class musicians and singers. The music took 50 years of mine and my husband's life. Once again we were young again. The staff were very helpful. Once again St David's
came up trumps.
l. b.
I've been to the st davids hall about 3 times now. First was seeing Sam Bailey with meet and greet, second was a John Williams orchestra and the third was the twisted show with meet and greet. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The theatre is beautiful, the seats are very comfortable, the staff are so helpful. The bar staff are so happy to serve. Would I go back? Yes! In fact I'm going back in May for rupaul's drag race.
P. W.
Great auditorium but only one lift and that doesn't go to the top floors. Escalators only go to floor 2 so there's a lot of climbing for most ticket holders.
E. F.
Saw Gary numan and the show was amazing. Security staff were brilliant when we encountered an aggressive lady harassing us in the disabled toilet.
Place is lovely and clean, only downside is my phobia of elevators and there are lots of stairs lol
C. T.
I actually preformed on stage. We had a full house and the facilities behind stage were very clean and tidy! Great place to watch shows and have a new experience.
P. L.
Seen some great acts here, Stephan Grapelli, Elvis Costello, Hozier. Great Acoustics. Really convenient for the train station, if you're just coming up for the night or for hotels if you're staying over.
N. W.
Excellent concert with Karl Jenkins.
D. L.
Great venue for acoustic music but not so good for amplified. Fairly comfortable seating. The bar is very expensive and has no nice beers on draft.
A. J.
Wonderful acoustics at the St David's Hall and the layout gives it a very intimate feeling. The bar area is huge and not over-priced which makes a change! Car parking is a doddle being right next door to St David's 2 shopping centre.
R. B.
Fantastic night at St David's Hall, watching The amazing Gary Numan. Outstanding gig.
M. P.
Google maps took us all around st David's shopping centre instead of take direct to it
. Good air con. Comfortable seats and plenty leg room in row d. Reasonable priced tickets for the comindian paul smith... The coke cola bottles was 2 pounds..and the beer was sold in plastic cups
A. W.
Nice place to go to for concerts as it's not one of those venues where you have to watch a screen because of how big it is. Nicely up close and personal for concerts and plays
M. H.
An eighties building badly in need of some TLC, but its superb acoustics and remarkably intimate atmosphere for such a large venue make it a great place to hear serious music.
J. T.
Gary Numan and the Skaparis orchestra, fantastic
S. B.
Great night last night st david's hall.
Thanks to all staff you all are wonderful. Well recommend this hall good for disabled people to. We went and seen Susan boyle she was brilliant. Good surportting act too. Thank to everyone. Steve
R. W.
Lovely performance but seating could do with updating. Was not comfortable, neither was the lady sat next to me. Otherwise a great place.
A. C.
(visited 19/vii/16) for my sins this was my first attendance to the hall & to Proms Cymru. Aquosticly remarkable hall. Advise to arrive in good time, for per-performance drinks and to order interval drinks too. Also do food, didn't par-take as eaten elsewhere, but look good. Could of had more staff behind the bars, hence low/mid score, had to wait awhile to be served, but bar was polite and professional, shame management weren't.
M. G.
Great theatre venue, good parking, only issue is when the show needs subtitles, such as Madamme Butterfly, if you're in the stalls you'll have a sore neck looking up to see the translation.
A. S.
An definite experience that can't be experienced throughout the whole of Cardiff. St Davids Centre is well maintained and beautiful place where they hold many prestigious events from threatre plays to Welsh ocsar featuring many well known celebrities. Well mannered class of society and the building features a bar, restaurant, refreshments which are useful during intermission. If visiting Cardiff definitely one of the places to see as it shows of the heritage of Cardiff and Welsh expressions
D. H.
Concert was absolutely fantastic well worth the money! Unfortunately the box office clerk was extremely rude and unhelpful! And the ticket issuing was shambolic!! But the venue is excellent!😊
H. P.
This is a fabulous concert hall always enjoy an evening out here good acts on throughout the year and centrally located in Cardiff!
N. H.
Saw Swan Lake for the first time, by the Russian Ballet of Siberia. Absolutely fabulous, stunning and so colourful. Costumes were also brilliantly made! Well worth a visit. 😊
D. N.
Great venue for gigs
G.
Excellent selection of concerts
Y. i.
Second concert in a fortnight but ooooh the seats are uncomfortable. Shame because the views of stage are good wherever you sit and sound is good
a. l.
Great night with King Kenny
E. M.
Fabulous venue in the heart of Cardiff
J. P.
Attended St Davids hall to watch the Siberian ballet perform the nutcracker. There is something appealing about the architecture of the hall and the building as a whole. I think a refurb is required to highlight the features of the period the building was constructed (1970s). However, the facilities need a rework - toilets etc..
M. P.
Easy to access.
Drinks expensive..
B. B.
Not particularly attractive, but this hall does what it says on the tin. Seats quite roomy and comfy and my partner had enough room for his long limbs!
A. Q.
This is a hotel with all the trappings of a 5* hotel. However, I feel it is all front, for the average traveller. The hotel is geared towards to corporate user. I felt that it was no more than a glorified Premier Inn or Travelodge in a stunning location.
The hotel has recently been taken over by IHC and is in the process of renovation which it is sorely in need of.
As onetime Mystery Guests for the Hilton Group we tend to look at hotels in a homeopathic sense. Looking at the state of the hotel as we approach, state of the Reception, Check-in and so on. We found faults in the room, only small one but collectively make a difference. At Breakfast, which was very good, the staff seemed to be confused. One person would take an order for a Side then second person would bring it out and then go around the tables trying to find the person who had ordered it.
The stay at the hotel was booked and paid for by our daughter as part of our combined 50th wedding anniversary and both of our 70th birthdays, however, when I booked the hotel they wanted to charge us an additional £79. I refused to pay the extra and they relented and booked it anyway. Then we found that the Spa aspect of the hotels offered services was only available between 06.30 to 10.00 and 17.00 to 21.00. Both times not generally available for the usual visitors. Other times the Spa was available for an extra charge of £20 per person per day.
I could go on but any more should be between us and the hotel management.
This post was not meant for St David's Hall but St Davids Spa and Hotel, Cardiff Bay
A. N.
Attended the festival of remembrance. Very enjoyable evening.
T. D.
We had a truly magical time at the ballet. Best of all was a party of primary school children who were totally absorbed in the performance and were so well behaved
M. J.
Great venue. We have been there many times and every time enjoyed the experience
H. G. E.
Central to city centre with good access and unobstructed views wherever you sit
p. s.
Fantastic place and loved the concert there
M. L.
Great Auditorium and acoustics. Bar area and some other public area are old and dated. Upholstery in bar area is in a terrible condition literally falling apart. Given the price of the drinks Council should spend some money on new seating urgently.
M. P.
Unbelievable night watching Roger Taylor Great staff and very safe venue
C. B.
Lovely venue friendly helpful staff
L. C.
Beautiful acoustics and fantastic to be part of a sell out concert to mark Sir Karl Jenkins' 75th birthday. The backstage area could do with more toilets.
M. C.
Always enjoyed the intimacy of this well established venue. Smaller than Motorpoint, catering for a lesser crowd, but the sound is by far better than Motorpoint.
E. D.
I have never been there, To St David's Hall in Cardiff Wales nor out of the USA but i'm going to rate it a 5 STAR Anyway. In Advance! Because I know I am going to Absolutely Love it there! :-) it will be my very First trip to the UK and I can't wait!!! Sincerely, Eva Devine,,
H. W.
Russel Brand was hilarious as expected! However, St David's Hall was not at all as expected. Very disappointed with the venue. It was so uncomfortably hot here there was no air con whatsoever and the leg room was absolutely non existent.
A. T.
Loved the Shires,fab night
S. P.
Saw Marillion here November 2019. Great venue for an amazing band.
L. W.
Good sized venue. Mainly seating so difficult if it's a concert. Good views from all angles.
S. C.
Great venue and acoustics. Thourghouly enjoyed the show. Handy facilities and quick service at the bar in the interval
R. “. L.
Amazing place, great facilities, excellent staff
S. C.
Watched Howard Jones play his Transform Concert here. Staff were great and the auditorium really good. Would go again if nothing local.
L. H.
Lovely place to see a concert.
D. T.
We loved the' Zog' show and we were very appreciated for the pram lady who was looking after our pram and our belongings . The place felt clean and fresh too
K. S.
Fast Love was amazing 💜
p. h.
The choirs were wonderful! Great conductor
G. D.
Lovely place friendly staff good atmosphere seats a bit high up if you on top floor but still good view of stage
J. W.
Wonderful venue , acoustics are amazing .
N. T.
Great atmosphere and a nice selection of shows. The stairs to the upper stands can be daunting but the experience makes up for that
M. D.
Saw Les Musicals here and it was brilliant. The sound in the hall is brilliant and the seating very comfortable with great views.
J. P.
Great venue, friendly staff and well stocked bar. There are just too few toilets to service the amount of patrons.
N. C.
Been to see numerous live acts. Good venue, going again to see Russell Kane soon. Drink prices are ridiculous though.
A. L.
Good seats and a good performance
C. W.
Incredible venue, do not book the top of tier 11 if you don't like heights! Sound quality was amazing.
M. s.
Paul Carrack was amazing, fab lil venue, but seats once again spoilt our nite, even bought a cushion as awful last time, was a lil better, such a shame, puts us off booking 😑
D. J.
Love this venue. Sound is wonderful, easy parking, small enough to still be intimate

Went to Adam ant concert here and after getting over my fear of heights I really enjoyed the concert. Drinks were really expensive but staff were very good.

Great show as always. Could do with another lift.

Although it is not a big hall, the size is actually beneficial to attendants that they can be closer to stage for enjoying greater atmosphere of performance.

Thank you St David's Hall For given my family and I a wonderful experience at a recent show - fro start to finish we had a memorial experience - I do hope St David's Hall is here to represent South Wales for many years to come

Very good concert venue. Centrally located. Plenty of bars in the area for pre and post contract drinks.

great venue for concerts as the arena holds the music inside to give out a great sound ! love this place

Love the shows I've seen here, but seating could do with an upgrade now as I've been in several areas which the foam has gone and the springs are uncomfortable

Very convenient location. It can be too high at the top; bring your binoculars with you otherwise you will struggle to see your loved ones!

Went to a Ub40 concert in St Davids last, i must firstl;y say the concert was amazing, i do however have a complaint..... on arriving at the venue for a 7.30 start we were shown to our seat( k 51,52,53) there was a heavy stench of stale urine..... we were understandable a little aware of this smell throiughout the night... it seemed to be everytime someone sat down or got up it wafted in our direction.. surely somebody else must have smelt this. when was the last time these seats were professionally cleaned. irelevant of the concert being amazing this smell continued to waft throughout the night, even to the point i had to step out of the hall on a number of occasion.

More people need to get reacquainted with this excellent venue. A while since I was last here but will definitely be looking at their future programme of events.

All seats seem relatively close to the stage. Had a great view and we were on the 2nd tier

Had tickets for the Roy Orbison show on the 24th June a birthday treat. friend tried to purchase tickets on the 22nd June and was told only single seats in the highest tier yet where we were sitting tier 3 door a seat 34/35 EE there were seats behind in front and next to mine why wasnt these seats available when requested it seems silly to have these seats empty when they could have been sold and a good night had by all

Lovely venue. I visit often for concerts. Great view of the stage wherever you sit.
