I haven't been out in Glasgow for quite some time but honestly, if you want to be safe and feel secure cathouse is the best place!
I was rather drunk last night and instead of being told to sit down, or bouncers and staff making me feel bad I was simply handed water each time I ordered drinks for people... might seem small but I was very impressed with the staff and door staff going out their way to still ensure I was okay as opposed to anywhere else that would have seen it differently and said to leave...
Mighty impressed and the staff need a huge high five for actually caring where near all other places don't and would put someone on the street
Great night out and great staff! 😁

Had a great night out with friends, live music was fantastic, staff friendly, security team tight and knows what they are doing. Door staff friendly and chatty which was great to see a friendly face. Love, love, love this venue.
I. H.
friendliest and most helpful staff and best music in glasgow! was there for the first time yesterday and (embarrassingly) had too much to drink and the staff helped my friend look for me and then sat with me to fill out a medical form and even payed for our uber. i think the woman who helped us was called charlie, and the manager i’m pretty sure. really really cool venue with great music and great staff - can’t wait to go back!

The Cathouse has always been a great night out and definitely one of my favourites in Glasgow. Never had any trouble with the bouncers (unlike some other well known Glasgow rock clubs), the sound is always good for the shows and you can dance away, or chill at a table with mates on a night out.
A. _.
One of the rare places where you always feel welcomed. The most friendly bouncers, staff and the community in general you would ever meet in a club.

Almost every band I want to see comes through the Cathouse and with good reason, venue is excellent, sound quality is great and having 2 bars is a bonus at a packed gig. Big props whoever runs the social media too, every question or request I've had has been met with prompt responses, well worth a follow on socials as they are pretty funny too 😂

My buddy and I had the best time at the cathouse! We are American tourists going to a pretty local Scottish place so we were a bit nervous but everyone was incredibly friendly and the music was killer! After passing the sobriety check (they asked us where we had been beforehand and we barely knew not because we were drunk just because we didn’t know the name of any place being tourists) we walked up a couple flights or stairs and we were at this clubby dance floor playing all of the great metal and rock classics. Met some amazing locals in the outdoor smoking area and it was the best. They kicked everyone out round 3 I would say which was probably for the best. Id go back in a heartbeat

Accessible, great venue. Diverse acts, great music. Staff friendly.
Good value for money.

I came to Glasgow from London with a mate and we heard great things about Cathouse so we decided to go on a Saturday night. We both now agree it's our favourite club , the music and people were amazing. The bar staff were also welcoming and served us fast. We also had our first venom which was a great experience. I will come to Glasgow again just to go Cathouse. See ya soon :)

It’s a vivid, euphoric and visually dazzling experience that engages you on every level and in every moment. You won’t be able to ignore its hypnotic allure – and not just because every member of that crew is impossibly attractive.
There’s real visual dynamism in the club, with a strong backbone of rhythmic editing to intersperse the dancers journey with oblique visions of a cloudy future. The production and design, too, are austerely beautiful, particularly its split persona floors and the neon ride that is the Cathouse.

Best club I've ever been to with some amazing music great DJ and outstanding atmosphere fefinetly worth a visit
F. G.
Great night out, with great music, great atmosphere and cheap drinks!
R. M.
Always been my favourite nightclub in Glasgow. Never had any issues and always guaranteed a good night out. No idiots and every type of person. Really inclusive. A nightclub a few decades ahead of the rest. Plays most genres of rock and metal. Love when the classics come on.
I. E.
Played in a band 3 times here.
One of my favourite venues to play at, but the stairs are a killer, if you have alot of gear, and you can't park outside to unload if you don't have a van.
s.
Absolutely brilliant venue good layout and sound quality very friendly, but the beers, cider, lemonade, everything on tap bar coca cola was far too gassy it made me a regular at the pub fairly unwell and my mate aswell. Go to the cathouse u willnae regret it but order drinks fae bottles or tins
K. G.
Quality night out surrounded by the right folk. Recommend for some solid tunes and great theme nights
S. C. T.
Cracking time at the Catty. Good music, good people, good booze, good times! Makes the trip from Edinburgh worth it!
M. A.
Fun place to dance that feels welcoming and safe with any group.
Rock on the lower floor and indie pop on the upper floor so a choice of genre, and drinks aren't a complete rip off either.
S. C.
I'm no really into heavy rock , but what a night out 10/10 a true Glasgow institution guaranteed a good night ,fast bar service, loud music , with a lively dark atmospheric taint to it
d.
Best nightclub in the world. End of discussion.

We had an amazing time visiting on Saturday afternoon - from arrival the staff went above and beyond to help us feel welcome and relaxed. They signposted the one way system really clearly for us and explained the process of ordering and moving around the space. Our servers were Rachel and Molly and they couldn’t have done more to make us feel looked after and to accommodate us when we wanted to stay past our reservation time. The whole bar was clean and the hygiene level was excellent. So glad the Catty is open again we honestly can’t wait to come back.

I love the cathouse I always have I live on the western isles of scotland and for me it's a big big thing visiting the cat house, especially everything that's being going on this is like a big holiday for me. But seriously what is with the bar service? Does the bar stafe understand how to serve people? The bar was busy but people just walked straight to the bar and learned over me and got served while I was queuing I mean really? And this didnt happen one night it was a couple of nights, I love the place and I will be back but please please god sort out your service it was shocking! I work I a service based sector sort it out!!!

Great song, cheap drink, new interior really good, but air con on full blast , freezing

I'm not usually the type of person to go out to nightclubs, but I've been here a few times over the last few weeks and it is one of the best you could ask for, 100% recommend to anyone!
K. J.
When I moved to glasgow, there were times where I'd not had a drink yet and had been knocked back and admittedly that tainted my view of the place a little bit, but I've gotta say since then they've been brand new, and I've always enjoyed my nights out here. Decent music, reasonable prices and usually a decent crowd too. Only thing I would suggest is maybe give the app an update, there's been quite a few instances of booking in on there but it's not appeared at the cash desk, all in all. Usually a good night!
D. C.
The best alt nights in glasgow, no question.
M. K.
Love coming here. Super friendly place, I've always found to be welcoming and a fabulous atmosphere with great staff and pretty clean for a night club too. Really good mix of music if you like rock theres probably something for you and the drink is reasonable too.
l. a.
Great discover for french tourists ! Nice music and place, staff is quite nice whatever you can read from other advices. Just a regret about alcohol, very soft.
If I comeback in Glasgow I now know where I can enjoy my evening
R.
Shame there's a view obstruction when watching band as theres is a support beam right to side of stage.
G. H.
Cracking night, lovely staff. Wouldve been a 5 star but they wouldnt play Tom Jones. Come on Frosty.
H.
Been coming here for 18 years! I've seen 2 renovatios, countless gigs and had many a drunken endeavour here.
Prices are decent, music great!
The older I get the more I see the new breed of young metalheads emerge.
Split over 2 floors for differing tastes in music.
They have had some absolute roasters for staff who, thankfully, no longer reside there.
Worth checking out if you're in town.

I'm a man of a certain age now. There's no denying that simple fact. It doesn't, however, mean, that I have to act that age. As such, one of my "guilty" pleasures is the odd trip into the Cathouse.
I've been there a couple times in the last month. Both times, I've been (or felt like) considerably the oldest person there. Oddly, though - I never once felt out of place. There was no glares and stares, or disgusted looks. Quite simply, I fit in.
Maybe there's something to be said for the acceptance of rock fans? Who knows.
Entry is up a HUGE flight of stairs that also acts as an unofficial sobriety test, so if you're of limited mobility or in a wheelchair, then it's an instant no go. Entry fees can be avoided with promo wristbands, available on their website at 3 for £1.50 (the bands also grant you cheap drink deals on certain items, well worth looking out for) or some nights entry is free if you check their facebook page and tag yourself on the photo. All a good idea.
The staff have never been anything but pleasant and fair to me, even when I've been... shall I say... the worse for wear. I've never had a problem with bouncers, or bar staff, and contrary to what I've read, I have to say the music choice is usually excellent. The DJs will tell you then and there if they can't play something, and are chatty types as well.
I wouldn't necessarily say it's my first choice to drop into these days - age is a terrible, terrible thing, kids - but it's always a nice wee change for the system.
Also, I attended a gig there, the sound I thought was excellent and not too loud, so take that for what you will.
I have awarded 4 stars. If you're under 25 and like rock music, you can probably up it to 5 stars.,, just because.
W. S. M.
Love the catty go quite often, drinks are ace and the staff are fantastic, I had dropped my wallet panicked cos I thought I'd lost it but security came running out after me to give me it. Definitely the nightclub to go to if ur out for a night out. Music, gigs shows fantastic.
K. S.
A good club! used to be much better in the 2006-2009 times it was more alternative, has went downhill since but used to be a good laugh! Voodoo was always a great night out for the unders!
But the music and community has changed. still good for a night out though!
very cheap drinks & drink promotions on all the time! which gives it a thumbs up!
C. H.
I have been attending catty for ten years and it is always a good night out. The music is great. Upstairs is better if you want a pop punk and classic 90s Kerrang vibe mixed with current pop. Especially during the last hour or two, it’s banger after banger.
Down stairs is heavier with your more classic rock/metal Scuzz vibe. Great for head bangers.
People make Glasgow and People make catty. There are a huge range of people here from all walks of life and they all get along. Even if you don’t smoke, check out the smoking area. It’s a great social hub for meeting people. The people might look scary to some but everyone’s very friendly.
As an LGBT guy I can not recommend here enough if your a bit of a rocker and the classic gay scene doesn’t do anything for you. There’s always some gay guys here but it’s not overloaded and you’ll never experience homophobia here. Get on your New Rock boots and get dancin’.
F.
Sick AF. Love it.
N. K.
Awesome music selection (night dependant) and drinks, with really friendly and responsible staff. Also, get in for free for the first half hour with their armband, which is a nice wee bonus if you go every so often.
B. D.
A lot of youngsters and the music sometimes is... well... 50/50. But you indeed can have great evenings and always meet friendly and interesting people to talk to. All in all good place for socialising and partying.
D. G.
If the cathouse's unique style of music is to your taste then it offers a consistently good night out with friends. Plenty of dark corners and chains for those who want that authentic metal club feel.
F. M.
I was there for a Kvelertak gig and it was great. It´s a bit small auditorium, i mean it´s is narrow and deep.
I recommend you to wear earplugs if you stand close to the stage.
I didn´t have anything for drink there, but I believe that it is not the cheapest place.
The address is ok if you come from an other city, as i did. I went by bus and the bus station is close to the concert hall.
Anyway, good place to see any band you like.
A. S.
Good music (90’s and 00’s pop-rock and hiphop), authentic atmosphere, security is strict, but they r fair (noone wants knives in a night club I guess)
J. E.
If you like Rock music, this is the club for you. Two floors that bring a great range of rock music from Bowie to A Day To Remember to Slipknot. Average prices for a Glasgow club.
D. M.
Always great to come here for a gig. Drinks are cheap and music is loud! 🤘
S. M.
Great place, there's different levels of music, a great smoking area, bear selection, staff and environment. The regulars are the best people you could meet on nightouts plus music is crazy good.
A. S.

A great rock nightclub, but my recent visit only cemented the fact that I'm too old for nightclubs now.
B. B.
Cheap and cheerful. Everything a nightclub should be. Always a fun night here.
J. I.
Brilliant just brilliant. The catty is for rock heads but it's a great place for a traditional Scottish sesh.

R. B.

One of those multi-level music dance clubs in the UK. The music was not very heavy, more grunge and nu-metal than anything.
C. M.
Good place if you like alternative music, a bit repetitive if you're looking for a regular club.
