Reviews of De Montfort Hall
W. w.
It's always been a great venue, nice size not too many people great views of the stage and even better the sound has always even really good there.
Finally go to catch up with the Stranglers after all these years shame we missed out on Dave Greenfield (R.I.P).
T. S.
Lovely old music hall, great acoustics, good views from all seating.
Been going to gigs there for decades so very familiar with it.
Only thing is there could be more toilets, but it is an old venue so difficult to change that really.
D. F.
Great place for concerts whether they are standing or seated. Within easy walking distance of the railway station or city centre (about 20 minutes). There is a car park, but it needs to be pre-booked. Bar prices are reasonable. Staff always friendly and helpful.
B.
Marillion Weekend, at De Montfort Hall Leicester was a tremendous event. The Venue and staff were excellent, parking and refreshments are reasonably priced.
Marillion were on top form, acoustics and lighting effects were spot on. Highly recommended.
E. L.
Lovely venue, looks so lovely inside and out. Sound quality is great. A shame some artists insist on seating for the floor area, always better for a standing option if it's a music concert in my opinion. Seen loads of bands here, The Specials, James Morrison, OMD, The Human League. I beautiful place to see a gig
S. S.
Long awaited show "Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets" Due to who it was and that I was 5 rows from the stage it was the most incredible show , it just blew me away.
Memories that will stay with me for ever.
P. B.
Great place as usual. Parking fine as you can use either the demontfort hall carpark or the Victoria park one. Brilliant staff, very accommodating. Great night!
S. T.
Lovely venue. Just the right size to see music and comedy whilst the staff are so helpful and friendly. We are very lucky to have this venue in our town.
s. a.
Always a great venue. But it's about time they changed the beer. It's a bit pricey too. Don't let that put you off though.
J. A.
An absolutely great venue and an ideal place to go and watch artists of your choosing.
Very friendly staff and my Wife and I went here to see Paul Weller and had what can be described as the very best of times.
G. P.
Nice old venue, we book directly with them, keep enjoying many Indian shows. No hot food, no popcorn. You can bring your own snack and cold soft drinks. Adjacent parking, book in advance £4 or risk on entry £5.
j. k.
Was really good. Smooth and easy ingress and egress. Nice and clean. The only annoyance was how close the seat behind me was. The guy's knees were touching my chair and really putting me off. I guess they've gotta get as many in as they can though.
P. A.
First time at De Montfort Hall..Excellent venue with easy parking nearby..The acoustic of the hall was brilliant and staff very helpful..The David Cray and his band concert out of this world..
S. G.
Great place for seeing comedians, musicians and the like.
The theatre layout lends itself to good views from wherever you sit. Comfy ish seats but you will likely welcome the interval to have a good stretch! Not a massive amount of leg room but sufficient.
Was quite chilly when we visited, unsure if this was a ventilation covid measure but had to sit in my coat.
Covid restrictions were very hit and miss, they scanned everyone's covid vaccination status at the door but then no one was wearing masks, only about 2% of the public wore them so there was a high chance that people wandering around bear faced could've easily passed on covid, quite alarming really.
Small sweets/ice cream kiosk on the ground floor and one more upstairs with reasonable priced sandwiches, crisps and drinks and there was a bar upstairs too.
Friendly helpful staff in all areas.
Wheelchair accessible with wheelchair accessible seating in the theatre too, one lady had even brought her assistance dog! Seats either side for a carer or partner too .
All round a nice theatre to visit with pre-bookable parking next door (or £5 on the night).
D. R.
This is hall which is suitable for graduation ceremony and events like that. This one is situated vicinity area of Victoria Park and University of Leicester.
S. w.
Was a great show. Lovely building and grounds. Parking was really good.
S.
Went to see Aussie floyd which were fantastic it was my 1st time to De Montfort Hall seating is great and not to over crowded will be looking for my next concert for sure.
D. D. P.
I've been coming here for years.
The sound is always great even if their itinerary isn't.
Leicester Council has finally let the bar stay open during shows and allowed drinks to be taken into the venue.
Great acoustics. Just a shame it's so small and dated.
Got this Brill music comedy book from the merch area. Funny as anything. Well recommended both venue and book.
M. C.
What a venue! Fantastic place with wonderful grounds surrounding it for while you wait.
E. C.
Fantastic acoustics. Good Covid-19 safety. All seats provide a great view of the stage. I've been coming here for over 50 years & have many special memories. It's moved with the times but retains the lovely character within the concert hall.
M. C.
Lovely evening in a great theatre. All staff friendly and helpful. Well organised entry and exit. Easy access to seating area. Relatively comfortable and well spaced seating, wide shallow stairs but few handrails. Clean and tidy in every area. Easy access to and from the theatre to the car park.
M. A.
I went to see the Stranglers and they were brilliant. The hall itself was easy to get to with a car park in front. The facilities were very good and very clean. It was easy to get around and there was plenty of space. Good views of the stage, even in the standing area. Very helpful and friendly staff.
S. M.
A very nice place to go to weather it be a pop concert or a classical music event. Plenty of parking and you can take your drinks to your chair. A well ran and maintained place, not bad to say that I have never heard of it before I went. 99% spot on but not much space for your legs if your 6 foot. At the back of the building this was. That was my only issue
A. C.
Lovely contemporary theatre that has excellent views of the stage from all seating areas and gives you a wonderful closeness to the acts that is missing in some venues. the large open area of the theatre gives a feeling of space that also stops the cramped and shadiness of some theatres I have been to.
Venue staff are helpful and polite but don't upset the act or the staff as they are very efficient at removing troublemakers from the theatre so as not to annoy other patrons
C. M.
Great experience here. Lovely venue and everything was very efficient. In these sorts of places I find being served at the bar especially in the interval can be long but it was surprisingly decent. Overall had a lovely night and would definitely recommend to anyone.
S. C.
Another Great Concert at De Monfort Hall. Great venue. Very friendly & helpful staff.
OMD last night (who were brilliant). Be back again in March 2022 for Adam Ant
C. T.
I love DeMontfort Hall! My first ever experience of live music was watching Showaddywaddy at DeMont with my mum when I was about 12! Since that time I’ve seen countless artists and shows including Keane, Simple Minds, Human League, Adam Ant, Level 42, 10CC, Howard Jones and more recently OMD, who always give a stellar performance. The tributes are also brilliant including George Michael, Queen, The ELO experience and the Lost in Music show was outstanding!
I pray DeMontfort never closes. It’s such a monument and a privilege to have on our doorstep.
K. N.
We finally got to see Nick Mason at De Montfort Hall after a 2 year covid break. We booked ahead for the parking, and found a hotel less than 10mins walk away from the venue, which was reasonably priced and provided safe parking. The short walk was through a lovely tree lined and leafy garden area, with good pedestrian areas. The hall was easy to find, very quick ticket scan, to brief bag search, then up to the bar. Despite being very busy it was well staffed and we were served straight away at the bar.
The seats were comfy with very clear sightings of all the stage.(we were in the upper circle) and the sound and lights were great.
The amenities were easy to access and I had no time to wait to get into the ladies, although it was largely a male audience to be fair.
A good venue good acoustics easy to find and comfortable seats. Great 👍.
D. H.
Visited to see outdoor performance of HMS Pinafore by Illyria Theatrical Productions. Absolutely brilliant, only 6 members in the cast playing multiple roles, with quick costume changes, all without microphones. I will certainly look for this company being near me in the future.
k. p.
Went here to watch fireman Sam was amazing. Friendly staff and very helpful
J. W.
A legendary venue on the band touring circuit. Excellent acoustics and facilities.
A. K.
One of the best places for a concert , absolutly brill ...... great view , wherever you seat ....
R. S.
Always like De Montfort Hall. Great acoustics. Comfortable seats. Friendly staff. Great entertainment from the Pun championship as part of the Comedy festival. Try it next year or any of the other events going on. Final night at the Curve usually rings a superstar of tomorrow. Only slight snag with good old De Mont the toilets cod do with a little exlansiom
S. T.
Amazing concert venue. Small enough for it to feel intimate, but with all the benefits of a big venue. Absolutely incredible and would go again soon
C. C.
We had a lovely time here. Plenty of seating. Great atmosphere and the shows/acts they hold there are amazing!
b. a.
Good venue have visited twice recently to watch John Bishop and Brian Cox. Interesting comment John Bishop made about changing the name of the venue.
M. F.
Been here a few times & it's a well run friendly theatre. The property is very well kept inside & out.
D. P.
Went to see Rumours of Fleetwood Mac they was fantastic, the venue was first class the seats are comfortable with plenty of leg room the staff were helpful. You need a covid pass to get in take a screen shot of it I had trouble with the internet there. The parking was close by,allow 30minutes extra while the covid rules are in force.
L. S.
Phenomenal evening, Got to thee Great Dane, Peter Schmeichel in person once more. With an Audience with. He was amazing, talking about his new book and the life he had lived.
Venue was amazing. Beautiful setting, well organised, polite and helpful staff everywhere, reasonable prices for drinks etc. Had a special evening. Can't believe we lived in Leicester for nearly two years and never knew about Demontford Hall!!!!
Glad we found it now and will be back in November to see the Queen of British music, Gabrielle. Can't wait.
Thanks to all for a wonderful evening.
L. S.
Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Place was clean. Seats were comfortable and adequately spaced with enough leg room. Car park was very convenient with lots of spaces. Would definitely return
K.
A fab venue to see your favourite band/comedian etc. Because of the size you get a great view from wherever you sit. Bar prices are a little expensive considering you have to drink out of plastic!! Also necessary bottles of water aren't cheap and you have no choice as you can't take your own in.
R. M.
Depending what you are seeing it's a great place to see your hero's, staff helpful and polite and covid safe spot on
A. M.
This is a really nice venue. I was in the tiered stalls and although a little way back from the stage, it still felt close. It's easy to find and conveniently placed not far from the railway station.
S. K.
Great show, nice staff but caused me major issues with upstairs toilet being out of action
G. L.
Fab performance of Fantasy & Adventure this afternoon by the Bardi Symphony Orchestra...
Scherazade was absolutely fantastic!
N. M.
De Montfort Hall Leicester Marillion was here for 3 nights absolutely brilliant a really good music venue @Noelmckie Instagram
M. K.
seemless. sold out but not over crowded. roomy bar areas with outdoor access for that moment when you nearly faint and have to rush our for air after too long in the mosh pit. brilliant gig
C. B.
Access brilliant, facilities brilliant, shame about the price though way overpriced and not even half full.
When will we learn to cut the price and fill the seats.
A.
I went to see the lost in music 70's band, with friends,it was such a good night, a great atmosphere too, I would definitely go again👍🏻😁
N. R.
Excellent venue, amazing service from the moment we arrived.
Venue very smart, stewards in the carpark, staff in the hall spot on.
And on top of the awesome service the gig was amazing 👏 🙌 👌
The Stroppies from Australia 🇦🇺
And The Modfather Mr Paul Weller and his band. Brilliant set two hours post Covid gig.
Treated us all after the lockdown. Amazing 👏 🙀 😯
A. H.
Went to watch Ed Gamble and he was very good and the venue was lovely and the chaurs were comfy
P. R.
Here for the marillion weekend. It's been amazing. The staff are helpful and answer any questions politely and direct you where you need to go. The bar staff are on the ball as well nobody seems to wait very long to be served.
D. T.
Came for the Diversity concert with my Daughter which was brilliant.
However the snacks that were on offer that said included a vegan selection was non existent. There was nothing vegan at all however something you did have was a coffee with soya milk that was a huge step as not many places have that even.
G. H.
Great venue on our doorstep great show. All staff very professional and friendly and helpful. Great night keep up the good work.
M. F.
Been here a few times & it's a very nicely kept venue. The staff are friendly and helpful. The drinks prices are reasonable.
A. I.
Great venue. Good size. Comfortable seats with good leg room. Parking on the street near by or payable car parks near by too
K. P.
Large auditaurium a bit cramped but not if the concert etc is great good view Parking outside £2 after 5pm
B. M.
Looks like a very interesting place, many activities are arranged inside. Sometimes, the people who attending these activities the park their cars outside in Victoria park roads which is not a good idea for the pedestrians i. The park
P. D.
Great venue, excellent view of the stage from every seat, good facilities, great staff.
A lot of venues could take a leaf out of your attitude towards customers, looking at you Ambassador Theatre Group
S. D.
Wonderful concert venue. Great sightlines and a very fine acoustic.
The gardens and the ice cream aren't bad either.
R. S.
Amazing clean and comfortable venue, the seats are well spaces and very comfortable. The staff were wonderful and the bar has a great selection.
V. B.
Perfect venue for concert good view of stage from every corner and comfortable seats and would highly recommend for music Concert
Just perfect venue
M. H.
Lovely evening the grounds outside are really nice to sit and have pre show drinks. Good small venue would recommend
C. B.
Have a great night. We went to see the Hollies. Good packing lovely area. The Staff very helpful. Venue beautiful.
F. G.
First time back since University graduation to watch the Leicester Orchestra performing 100 years of music in movies.
Very well organised, everything is clean, performance is superb and made a great night out.
J. D.
Went to the opera show was excellent the main lady stole the show
But at the end of the show I bought a bottle of wine it was taken off us
But it was lost we were late leaving and the car part attendant was rude so stoiled a very nice evening my friend went home upset as it was her birthday
Be mindful of taking gifts
M. F.
Good venue, easy to find with plenty of parking. Food places nearby if you need them.
M. M.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Staff helpful, polite and the venue was clean. Great atmosphere.
M. W.
Brilliant place clean and well kept seats comfortable sound excellent would use this venue again and would strongly advice others to use it aswell
H. A.
A great theatre that has been carefully planned so that everyone gets an excellent view. We took advantage of booking the parking ahead, £1 cheaper! The ice creams in the interval weren't a rip off either. Highly recommend.
R. B.
Great venue . Comfortable seats . Hopefully any acts I want to see will have a date there
H. M.
One of the best natural sounding venues around. Not appreciated enough with as much good music concerts as perhaps it deserves.
R. B.
Brilliant venue. Our latest visit saw Nick Masons Saurcerful of Secrets and they were absolutely superb.
M. A.
Great venue and Nick Masons Saucer Full Of Secrets are just fantastic. I have a new appreciation for Gary Kemp!
B. H.
My first visit to the De montfort hall in five years, still a great place to go to for concerts and shows, staff are always friendly, the hall is always clean and tidy, the reason for going this time, was to see Status Quo, a great night was had by all, and look forward to going back soon
P. T.
Excellent venue. Bit pricey for the beers, but a great place to see an awesome band like Marillion.
M. F.
Excellent, everything was, the Show, the car parking, De Montfort was lovely and clean inside, air conditioning set to a good temperature.
P. T.
Still an awesome music venue, lovely place.
L. S.
Excellent medium sized theatre can see the act wherever you are sat. Easy to get to from train station.
D. C. (. C.
Lovely building, great acoustics, fabulous show. Saw Jane Macdonald brilliant show.
P. C.
One Night Of Queen
Liked the venue, it was easy to park and quick ticket check. The bar was small, but good with quick service and was reasonably priced too. Even with sitting on the very back row of the upper circle, we had a great view. The band were amazing and had everyone singing and dancing along, they were great at involving the audience. 'Freddie' and the guy on guitar were incredible that it really seemed like you had come out of a real Queen concert.
C. L.
Good old school venue, with real ale bar and cloakroom. There is an ice cream kiosk and a regular bar to outside terrace.
E. F.
Another fantastic night. "That'll be the day" Hoarse with singing! So much talent, can't wait til the Christmas show Nov.28th
R. C.
Legendary venue with amazing acoustics.
G. B.
Another visit with great atmosphere.
Easy parking and wonderful pub around the corner
R. S.
Went to watch Richard Ashcroft there and the sound, view and seating were great. Great venue, lots of parking, friendly staff too. We were running late and one of the security wadrens helped us find a spot quickly. I will definitely be coming back to watch more performances in future.
L. G.
Fantastic place, staff are very friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more from a venue.
M. J.
Great venue. Large concert hall but not so big that you feel miles from the performer. Plenty of bars so no massive queues for refreshments or the loos. Plenty of parking nearby. Seen everything here from Joan Armatrading to school concerts. Acoustics are very good.
C. J. C.
Home for 3 nights of Marillion.
Great sounding venue for bands.
But... see Marillion there. Just Marillion.
They are the best live band ever.
R. T.
Visited for a concert, and the experience was magical. The hall provides a perfect venue for emotional or dramatic shows, and offers a convenient bar and tuck shop for drinks and snacks. Pair that with its proximity to London Road and the university campus and you've got a great option for concerts and theatrical performances. Fully recommend.
M. W.
Great venue. We hadn't been for a number of years. Went tonight to watch Russell Kane and it was amazing. DeMontfort Hall is a great venue and is large enough to give a great atmosphere, whilst feeling small enough for a more intimate feeling as the view of the stage is good all over the hall
C. G. (.
I've just been recently been to watch Marti Pellow and in the past to see Manic Street Preachers. The venue is fab and you can get a good view from pretty much anywhere you sit/stand. The drinks a reasonably priced.
S. H.
It's fairly old building but in good condition. Good theatre with reasonable seats. The stage is quite big but no access to the audience for the performers.
M. W.
Beautiful building and a great venue for music.
Sound was very good.
Good and reasonably priced range of drinks.
M. 1.
Have been visiting De Montfort Hall several times a year now (bar Covid) and have enjoyed every show, the staff are always organised, helpful and very friendly
C. C.
I went to see Russell Brand on his 33 Tour, he was absolutely brilliant and hilarious, he made me cry laughing. The staff were so very kind and helpful from assistance with parking for the disabled to helping me from my mobility scooter to my seat in the audience. A great night out.
E. R.
Wonderful venue
The staff were so helpful as there was a mix up with our tickets & they sorted it out straight away with no fuss. Lovely bar with quick service & a pretty splendid building.
Even though it is quite big it has the feel of a more intimate venue. We will go back for sure 💗
P. G.
First time visit, absolutely lovely, cosy & welcoming place to come to. Will definitely be back
a. w.
My wife and I were given tickets to see the Leicester Philharmonic Orchestra at De Montfott Hall, it was my first visit and we had an amazing evening.
A. D.
Amazing Jason Donovan concert....beautiful venue....expensive beer though! £4:70 a pint😵
A. H.
Good venue. Excellent bar area. Auditorium a little tired. Could do with a slight re vamp.
M. R.
Clean, looks good reasonable seat sizes, helpful staff and they do 2 pint cups so you don't need to carry as many drinks
I. T.
Great venue, not too big so never too far away from the stage! Friendly staff, booked to go again already!
I. E.
Fantastic venue! Car park next to the venue, pleasant staff!
And of course watching the legendary Stranglers supported by the Ruts!!
J. C.
Great venue, has bookable parking, plus additional parking nearby at Victoria Park. Excellent shows and staff support.
C. N.
Went to see Austrailian Pink Floyd, what a brilliant night, they were amazing, as usual. Get fed up of people not distancing, and either not wearing masks, or wearing them below the nose. All of that said, the band was great, venue, parking etc was good, let down by mindless individuals, as usual.
C. M.
Brilliant and really happy with my seats. Will always try and get the same seats whatever I see here. Excellent staff
J. L.
A lovely venue, bright and spacious with beautiful art deco features. Car park was a bit tricky to get into but queuing and covid restrictions were well organised. Very friendly staff.
C. H.
Wonderful show with The Strawbridges. De Monfort Hall very well organised for Covid many wearing masks and sanitising.
C. L.
Great place full of personal memories
Have been to rock concerts and stand up comedy here so many times over the years I've lost count
A good sized venue that's not too big you can't see the stage
Great acoustics. Good bars. Nice grounds that are sometimes used for outside performances
It needs to attract more big rock acts to compete with the O2 Academy and Rock City
A. B.
Lovely comfortable seats with good leg room
I. S.
First time visit to De Montfort Hall. Seating layout was really good and the prices on drinks for a show surprisingly cheap.
J. H.
We went to see Fire Dance a fabulous show, great seats on centre stalls row J. An amazing evening.
B. S. T.
This was my second time at De Montfort hall to watch Satinder Sartaj, it was exceptional, sound system and lighting was perfect, indoors environment was great, I would highly recommend it.
D. K.
Great experience at the panto, mini me loved the occasion.
p. “. m.
Very helpful staff and mighty and back and around the venue. Went to see Katherine Ryan. Clean tidy modern venue
I. M.
Still a nice place to see a show, a little dated but OK, bar area really good.
S. Y.
Easy to find, convenient parking, nice venue.
s. n.
Staff are all super friendly and welcoming, had a great night and makes me want to come again. Booked my next tickets already.
B. G.
Great venue for lots of activities. Friendly staff make you most welcome.

A. H.
Great shows. Very well organised so getting in and out in the crowds is quick
S. P.
Excellent service by all the employees working and very well organised. Enjoyed the show and felt very relaxed.
T. W.
Amazing venue, staff so lovely, shows are brilliant, fantastic place on our doorstep!! X
H. J.
Second time I've been here, and I think it's a nice hall. A nice venue in all.
It has a couple (maybe more) car parks that are within minutes walking distance, if not seconds.
The hall itself has many entrance/exits, which helps prevent queuing when entering / exiting the venue.
The light and sound balancing is pretty well maintained throughout the hall, which is good as other places give you an echo effect.
The quality of the seats is between average and good. Although they're not the best seats I've ever relaxed on, but certainly not the worst
Overall, very happy with this place.
Ps. Apologies, on this visit, I forgot to take pictures of the venue from the outside
M. L.
Well organised from the door to my seat, you can tell a lot of care has gone into the logistics of the experience and it made my visit a top level experience
M. M.
Venue staff were so helpful and family friendly for suitable occasions. The outdoor gigs were excellent. Thank you!
C. H.
Great location, bar service and seats large enough for taller people. Interval bar pre order worked well.
R. P.
Wonderful music venue!
L. R.
Fabulous dance show and the group were very good.
All the staff very polite and helpful
J. L.
Went to see madame butterfly. Venue excellent as usual. Quite a heart rendering evening . Thank-you
C. W.
Always a good view, easy to park and to get in and out but best to pre book parking
S. L. (.
A fabulous theatre for music and comedy shows. Not a bad seat in the house.
M. V.
Nice venue and felt clean inside. Worth going for a show.
N. S.
Saw Rip it Up 70s there. Really good venue, lots of parking nearby. The venue was clean and modern with excellent comfortable seats with arm rests. Great viewing angles and good audio experience. Has a bar, toliets to use before or during performance breaks. Will look to find another show to return and see there.
L. O.
Great atmosphere. Staff extremely helpful and polite. Comfy seats!
A. T.
Sleeping beauty what a joy and under such uncertain circumstances 27th December. 6 kids 6 adults all had a thoroughly good time...oh yes we did 😆👍. Thankyou
G. C.
Great venue and Jane McDonald was brilliant.
O. L.
Went to see Bethel Music and was pleasantly surprised by the good size and acoustics of the venue. Best part is that parking was very close and easy to find.
B. R.
Such a top class venue. A real experience!
Hearing world famous artists in such beautiful surroundings doesn't get much better. One of my favourite venues. It doesn't have the intimate, gritty feel of some of the other local big names (e.g. rock city), but it's even better for it. Both are good, this one is classier.
M. Z.
The sleeping beauty pantomime was amazing. The kids loved it
B. F.
Great Venue, great friendly staff
m. w.
Not been here before. Struggled to find the car park but really good venue. Would certainly think about coming again
M. N.
Magic of Motown was brilliant! A full evening of non stop Motown songs. Great, full band, great singers. Much dancing and singing was done! De Montfort Hall is a great venue and never disappoints. Covid passports and temperature checks required. For some reason we couldn't pre order interval drinks so we spent the whole interval queueing for a drink. Not good.
C. M.
Really enjoyed the show, however the stage lighting was poor, being directed at the audience , every time the people on the stage stepped away from the light the glare was very uncomfortable.
Y. H.
Yet another great night at demonfort hall really love coming here
A. A.
Had a great time here, went to see sleeping beauty with the family, love the layout of the venue and the staff are nice.
R. B.
First visit since Echo &The Bunnymen in 1983
The place hasn't changed and that is a good thing! Great music venue. Easy to find and free street parking too. Lots of good eateries just 200 yes away on London Rd. Paul Heaton put on a fantastic show, staff were v helpful. No negatives!
G. T.
One of the best small venues that I have been to. Great view from our seats, excellent staff and an added bonus was the prebookable parking in the grounds for £4.00. A great night!!
J. R.
Great venue. Great staff. I have been going to the De Montfort Hall since the early 1960s. Never had a problem.
L. H.
Just booked 2shows for 2020. Staff very helpful, parking either at the venue or opp in council car park. Good view from most seats (says restricted where applicable)bars on both floors, ice creams, sweets etc.
P. D.
Very nice venue, clean friendly and great views of the stage.
P. P.
All enjoyed coming to De Montfort Hall and all the staff are always so friendly
S. H.
A smaller venue than I'm use to ,excellent parking with a large pay and display within a 2 minute walk away. As me and my partner are disabled the staff were very tentative and no steps to contend with brilliant
R. G.
Saw Queen Extravaganza here. Great night out with friends. Getting out of the carpark proved a little tiresome!!! Some real idiots about!!!
J. W.
Nice sized venue for gigs. Well managed for COVID to keep everyone safe. Not the best sound I've heard, though - lots of bass resonance for the OMD gig tonight.
N. H.
Lovely staff beautiful building and an amazing show will be back
T. 2.
Always a great venue. Disabled parking at the front is excellent and good view from the wheelchair spaces. Lift is on the small side and a bit slow but otherwise a great night
l. i.
Very well organised , car park staff could have been friendlier
R. G.
This is one of our favourite venues. A great atmosphere, provided by a lovely building with surprisingly good acoustics and great staff who add to your evenings entertainment.
We saw Paul Carrick this time, brilliant as always... The band were amazing
M. B.
Great place for live entertainment been here a few times over the years to see bands play
B. O.
Attended this beautiful university hall for a graduation ceremony. Grounds are expansive and the inside neat and tidy.
R.
Always a great venue, but summer in the gardens. Next level. And accessible to all.
A. T.
Beautiful Hall, acoustics great. Facilities Covid-safe. All ticket holders were checked on entry, vaccine certificates checked, temperature check, bag check but we weren't waiting that long. Capacity is 2000 but not all seats were occupied. People moved around fluidly but NO masks which may have been an inconvenience but wise. We left when the crowds had dispersed at the end of the concert-Steve Hackett who was amazing!
K.
Great night worth waiting for 3 years because of the pandemic. Illegal eagles were fab !
T. E. L.
Visited the Hall to see the 25 Year Riverdance Revival. Very welcoming venue, fast efficient staff upon entry. Good comfy chairs and an excellent overall experience....... 10/10
L. H.
First time here since covid reared it's ugly head. We were a bit apprehensive I must admit but it was well organised when we got there. We went to see Riverdance and it was amazing and if I am honest we felt it was a haunting and emotional performance.
The only thing I would mention is that we went to see the matinee and missed lunch to get there in time. The kiosk was not selling sandwiches or rolls that day, even though we were told twice beforehand they would be. So if you are going to see a matinee eat before you come!!
J. S.
Amazing as usual
we went to see Sartaj live
We enjoyed every single moment with singing 😊
C. N.
Excellent night, staff were polite, always like coming here, OMD were brilliant.. 🎶🎼🎵
J. P.
Used a parking app (£5) walked to hall. Staff helpful and did covid checks. Pleasant interior comfy well marked seats and tiered views in stalls. Best thing? The acoustics were splendid. Steve Hackett and band very loud but no distortion. We would go again to this venue
K. C. A. B. O.
We went to see the Bootlegbeetles spot on one of the Best Tribute Bands 👏 going
B. W.
The Theatre is easy to get to, as it's just off the main road.
The entry/exit to the theatre was easy.
The Victoria Park Carpark next door makes this a great venue.
I would visit again.
The staff were checking Covid passports before entry - which is responsible in my opinion.
J. M.
Brilliant.
No problems
Great Show
W. D.
Lovely venue. Great show seeing Rod Gilbert
A. W.
Great place lovely looking hall with very good seating arrangement.
Saturday the 29 of September 19.30
Let's hang on. Hits from the musical Greece will be performed by Frank variety and the Four seasons.
P. N.
Attending Rhod Gilbert show. Nice venue, not too big so you can see pretty well. Facilities for disabled are ok but it would help to be told in advance where everything is instead of having to ask. It's usual for people with disabilities to be "fast tracked" and not have to wait in line as we did as for some, this creates difficulties. The area designated for disabled use has an open walkway in front of it which is helpful but the seats are a step up, ok for some disabled but not for all. Overall though, a fantastic night was had by all.
C. A.
It's a lovely, spacious venue for a gig. Saw Eddi Reader there on Wednesday evening. Very Covid aware. At the front there are bike racks to lock your bike to, helpfully just under a lamp post.
K. C. C.
Watched OMD on 5th November with my girlfriend. The show was truly amazing and staff were helpful. Plenty of parking if you get there early.
S. D.
Great venue with a lot of history, being an old music hall. The decor is pleasing on the eye with great accoustics . The venue has a range of acts/shows to suit all tastes (see website for upcoming shows)and has closeby parking (chargeable) or free roadside parking nearby (after 6pm),it's also a short walk from the railway station, has several nearby hotels and has good bus connections to the city and beyond.
L. N.
Great venue. Friendly staff.
Drink prices as expected.
T. C.
Great show, Lord of the Dance. Beautiful grounds.
K. W.
Reasonable music venue riddled with Council Jobsworths dictating movements of people. Was much better in the 1970's when we could all stand at Pop Concerts.
A. P.
Went to see Riverdance 25th Anniversary show. Great venue, my first visit. Helpful and pleasant staff. Good Covid precautions - proof of vaccination required for entry.
r. c.
Loved seeing OMD my first concert at 48 years old. I'm now hooked and making up for lost time. Brilliant venue
M. D.
The concert hall here is amazing. It's an old building but the entrance and restrooms are modern. The staff are very efficient and friendly. .we saw the fontaines dc from dublin and the sound was excellent.
S. R.
Very nice venue with plenty of parking spaces nearby.
S. P.
Went to see The Bootleg Beatles had a great night , a fabulous performance acting out all different era's of the Beatles career 👍
J. S.
Fantastic venue, great view of stage from any seat. Fab production of Sleeping Beauty
N. P.
Good place to come with family and friends for a night out for all types of shows.
C. E.
Went to see Queen tribute and they were great.
Although there were signs everywhere and announcements about wearing face masks. Most of the idiots did not bother.
T. R.
Fab concert and super fast getting people in ❤️
M. B.
Went to see Australian Pink Floyd. They were brilliant. The venue looks to have been done up over the last couple of year. Very well setup.
K. “. K.
Finally got to watch Riverdance. Sadly Mum passed in September lockdown and didn't get to see her birthday treat.
De Montfort didn't disappoint and along with covid safety rules in place the evening was a success. ONLY grumble a treat size bag of sweets was hardly big enough to share
S. O.
Great concert venue, friendly staff
E. M.
Great venue for a evening out as a couple, with friends or with the family.
M. B.
this place looks to have been done up, staff were friendly and seats soft and comfortable as you can expect, all seats really are fairly close to the stage and not really any restricted view seating that I could see. Al Murray was really funny
C. Y.
I went to see Riverdance and what I saw of it was excellent, the problem is the seats are all behind each other so if your sitting behind a tall person you can't see anything unless you lean from left to right looking over there shoulder, the seats should be staggered so your view is not obstructed.
H. R.
Inside the hall is good. Ladies toilets needs improvement, perhaps more toilets.
S. H.
Great place for concerts. Recommend when you book to pay for the car park.
a. l. e. k.
Always nice there great staff lovely car park . Put great shows on staff friendly great bar for drinks coffee wine beer good bits for sweets crisps. Toilet facilities are clean and looked after well. All in all I recommend anybody to go to De Montfort Hall if you are looking to have a great night at the theatre
S. Q.
Went to see Jimmy Carr lovely venue nice staff great place
d. s.
Good hall however toilet facilities need to improve during intervals.
A. B.
Easy, reasonably priced parking, great venue, comfortable tiered seating giving a good view of the stage, friendly staff, I shall probably visit again.
B. L.
Great venue, great staff too
A. B.
Great venue, smallish to feel personal with a great charm to the building. Plenty of parking too.
C. G.
Nice venue. Went to see Russell Howard. I only wish he performed for longer than an hour. Waited years for this performance for to COVID, travelled from Lincoln and felt like it was over in a heart beat.
K.
Booking for this venue was deceptive regarding COVID. Prior to booking and paying there was no mention of the requirement to have a COVID pass. It only became apparent after payment.
Despite showing the pass, we were asked to have a temperature check and wear a mask.
This seems an incoherent strategy. A pass proves you have been vaccinated, it does not guarantee you don't have Covid, the temperature check is possibly a better indicator. To have both was unnecessary and just added more time to get into the venue.
Fortunately it was not too cold or wet, given the amount of senior citizens attending, in winter this will be a problem.
Once inside, the venue was functioning as normal and the experience was good.
R. W.
Brilliant atmosphere. Drinks weren't a bad price either. I recommend pre paying for the carpark. As it's a bigger venue than you think, and the main carpark gets very busy.
N. F.
Really impressed. 1st time back here since the lockdowns. Very well organised, they have a great system in place to efficiently check everybody for negative covid results and scan their tickets. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and stewards were very helpful. Only thing id say, which can't really be rectified is that the seats are very compact, there isn't much room between rows, so for those with long legs may find it a little cramped and for those of a "larger build" may find that the seats are quite narrow, as the arms are static so could be a little uncomfortable. But other than that everything was perfect as its always been. Rhod Gilbert was amazing tonight - total legend!
C. F.
Saw OMD there recently. The Hall is beautifully presented, loads of leg room and comfy seats. This has become our venue of choice.
P. D.
Staff very covid aware, polite and informative. Building has fresh air
In the auditorium, and the facilities are clean and numerous. The seating is comfortable.
L. S.
Very friendly and helpful place x enjoy shows here with my family x
J. T.
First time visit. Really lovely slick venue. Off the back of my first visit, I've booked another 2 events. 🙂
A. R.
A very enjoyable night out and the staff are very friendly and helpful
C. T.
Great venue for live music and shows. Parking can be a little tricky but I always cycle there anyway. Highly recommended
j. f.
Brilliant just seen Lord of the dance
What an excellent show.👏👏👏
A. F.
Lovely enjoyed the comedy show we went , everyone was very considerate even during these tough times .thank you for a lovely experience.
L. M.
Well planned entry organisation.
Very busy night when I visited. Plenty of helpful staff about.
Only down size was large que to use the toilet, as there was only 2 in the place I went to in the interval.
P. S.
Great concert venue, would definitely recommend, only downside the coffee was awful. So avoid the coffee and have a good night!!
m. p.
Wonderful place as music venue staff amazing 😁
S. D.
First time here. What a we'll organised venue. We went to see one night of Queen. Fantastic.
T. G.
Open air Proms concert. Picnic and could bring your own booze (in tins). Bardi Orchestra excellent. Fireworks at end too.
E. E.
Good small venue....... but car parking was a nightmare!! The road outside the car park was chaos especially when it was declared full! Could easily have been an accident!
Must be a better way of organising this!!!
C. H.
Had an excellent evening, good security on the door, helpful & courteous staff. Good refreshments arrangements & excellent Alan Carr with Louise Young entertainment.
s. D.
What a wonderful venue, with lovely staff. The chair are a bit snug and no space in between them so very close together.
A. L.
We recently hired the DeMontfort Hall for a national folklore festival. The staff and crew were able to fulfill all of our requests and they weren't phased by the fact that we needed to accomodate over 400 amateur performers! Everything ran smoothly on the day and the technical crew were very professional and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend DeMontfort Hall to anyone looking for a large venue in the Midlands.
A. L.
Very nice place. Good views from tiered stalls where I sat. Nice foyer.Helpful staff. Customer car park very close to hall.
C. G.
Amazing evening seeing texas after a long wait due to covid . Brilliant memories made
S.
Excellent show! Friendly staff, didnt take long to get in, breaks were perfect timing
M. W.
Good safety checks on door. Felt safe. Queues for drinks quite short. Great view and comfy seating
J. M.
Love visiting De Mountford Hall as it is local to the area we live, we went to see Alan Carr amazing show laughed all the way through, very well organised, always clean, very friendly staff
P. S.
Seating good, staff customer focused. Would recommend.
T. r.
Great experience, good venue

Great old concert hall in the setting of Victoria Park and Leicester University. Rhod Gilbert was pretty good too. Will be back for some new year entertainment.
G. R.
Quality venue. Quality band 👍👌a perfect performance from a quality single 🍻
J. C.
Pricey booze, but a good venue overall; I watched Fisherman's Friend there and it was packed.
L. H.
Excellent venue. Clean, great layout for comedy shows. Even if sitting far back you'll see perfectly well. All seats are tiered too. Not a lot of leg room so if you are very tall or large I would recommend an aisle seat.
2.
Decent size auditorium, not too big or small. A good view from any seat.
s. w.
Great venue, extremely helpful and polite stewards.
M. L.
Beautiful building with good facilities and great shows. Staff friendly and approachable.

Very well organised. Staff and security spot on especially the security guard who had the time and patience to look for my opal that had fell out of the ring it must of been like looking for a needle in a haystack literally. Thank you so much
D. h.
Easy to get to, parking available on site and nearby, access good, most staff friendly and helpful, seating comfortable.
m. w.
Great venue and experience.
D. G.
Terrific concert venue. Only quibble is exiting the carpark at the end. It quickly gets gridlocked. Perhaps someone could look into it.
B. L.
Spacious yet seemingly cosy venue which always creates a great atmosphere.Richard Ashcroft is awesome
C. W.
Fabulous evening at a legendary venue
Watching John lyndon.
If they're ever was any bad omens in the place.
John has cleansed the temple for sure.

Well managed event. Emails in advance explaing covid procedures. Good venue.
R. D.
Lovely to share a hall full of happy people, children absorbed with good, clean fun.
A. P.
Great location, friendly staff face to face plus through email when I had a query. There is free parking on the roads after 18:00 maybe less than 10 minutes away so perfect.

Concert by Steve Hackett exceptional albeit the hall is starting to look a bit untidy.

A beautiful auditorium. Small, but nicely laid out. We were in the back row if the upper circle, but could see perfectly.
R. P.
A good venue to see a range of entertainment.
D. T.
One of my favourite venues. Staff are helpful and attentive. The venue is excellent in general and always clean.
D. H.
Excellent venue for any show. Been here a number of times and never disappointed
C. K.
Went to see Ben Portsmouth. Was a little worried after lockdown. First time heading out for a night out. Demontfort was amazing, all handled fantastically. Such a great night.
D. G.
Terrific concert venue. Only quibble is exiting the carpark at the end. It quickly gets gridlocked. Perhaps someone could look into it.

Lovely place..
P. C.
As a family we always enjoy coming here.
C. B.
Back to the good old days for De Mont. Great sound + decent bar - look forward to them booking more decent bands in the future
J. G.
Very nice venue. Staff are polite and very helpful. Attended Heaven 17/Squeeze gig. Couldn't have been better. Fuss free parking available over the road, a few yards. Would definitely consider using De Montfort Hall again rather than other venues just because of the ease of things.
D. C.
A great venue for concerts. Around 2k people so small enough to be able to see the stage from any seat but big enough to create a good atmosphere. Easy to get to and well sign posted. Friendly staff and plenty of facilities for drinks etc. Good disabled access too.
p. g.
Love, love, love this place. I've grown up watching performances on these stages and I've had the honour of performing once too. I love the range of shows they put on. I love the light and sound set ups. I love the sizes of the stages. I just wish the prices were a little cheaper but hey you can't get all that amazing for cheap I guess.
S. S.
Comfy seats, friendly staff, good show
G. S.
A beautiful and historic venue. I've been here for concerts, conferences and graduation, and it's always set up perfectly, has a great atmosphere, is well organised and aesthetically pleasing. The seats even have leg room for people who are 6ft3! Will definitely continue going to events here.
C. B.
Back to the good old days for De Mont. Great sound + decent bar - look forward to them booking more decent bands in the future
R. M.
we go to the Christmas pantos's every year with the kids well worth a watch
H. B.
Excellent, classy venue with a large auditorium equipped with very nice sound systems.
Two bars, both with quick, prompt service and a great variety of drinks.
There is a couple food counters which are expectedly pricey, but not extortionately so.
Highly recommended concert venue.
K. C.
Lovely venue to see the Stereophonics, easy accessibility from the city centre
K. W.
Superb venue. Great facilities and friendly staff. FAB place to see a band / show
A. d.
I went to see the Bootleg Beatles with my husband and family and the atmosphere was amazing and vibrant. It was buzzing The staff were very friendly and engaging We ordered our drinks at the bar and the bar staff were attentive and helpful as well as being sociable. The concert was fantastic and recommend The Bootleg Beatles to all Beatles fans. Close your eyes and u would actually think they were the real ones! I'm definitely going to book for next year. It's a great start leading up to Christmas festivities.
P. A.
Aussie Floyd, great intimate venue for a show.
P. C.
Good venue.. bit pricey on snacks but have now been many times to shows here .. Always very busy on show nights.
Would like to see some lighting that actually gets turned on on the entrance gates to light it up a bit more near main road.
Would recommend seating in the middle sections and not balcony due to sitting slightly twisted as seats not aimed at stage in these areas but the venue was whole is very clean looking and has good parking access ( fills up quick though) and has a good selection of alcohol during intervals :) .. all in all a nice place .
E. H.
Lovely venue. If attending a gig here, it's best to note it is all seated and consequently will probably be a more subdued performance than at standing venue/arena. Pleasant staff; not horrifically priced drinks.
K. E.
A great smaller venue for intimate gigs. It can get quite warm inside the auditorium so layers are best. Rear stalls have more limited leg room so if this is an issue either book side stalls or downstairs. Beautiful building and great staff
a. b.
Great sound, friendly staff and easy to park opposite for £2 after 5pm if you get there early enough..
A. G.
Venue is good. Covid security is good. Staff were very helpful
A. H.
Great intimate concert. Decent bar, colocated parking and free roadside parking after 18:00.
C. S.
Great venue and you can now take drinks into the auditorium which now makes it a 4 star review
m. p.
This music venue is one of the best. Top quality affordable and enjoyable music

I really can't fault the venue or the staff. Both were wonderful and very accomodating to myself and the lady with special needs I was supporting. There was a mix up and we arrived by taxi from a nearby town for the matinee to discover we had actually got evening tickets! The staff were so understanding and helpful. They put us in house seats for the matinee, which probably afforded us a better view than our original seats. Oh yes, the panto itself was fantastic and my lady is already determined to do it all again next year. Many thanks to all the artistes and especially the staff. 😁
L. H.
Superb concert hall, excellent graduation ceremony with superb music from the organist and musicians.
A. M.
Pretty well organised for reopening post-lockdown. Allow a bit extra time to get in, though the checking of Covid Passes is a bit lax. DMH clean , tidy and, as always, great acoustics. Staff helpful.
T. S.
Great venue and brilliant guests. We have been here so many times to see comedy acts. The beer is expensive but it always is at these kind of venues. The staff are the kindest ever. Parking isn't too bad if you book before hand. Hoping more big comedians come to De Montfort Hall in the near future and we will be there.
B. S.
Wonderful place to see and enjoy, entertainment
C. S.
Cool venue. Would love to see a band here..
J. G.
Just watched the excellent Dennis Loccoria and Doctor hook,.brilliant night, great atmosphere, brilliant venue to watch a legend .
S. I.
A good hall but the experience really depends on the show and how the lighting is set up. Seats are comfy and while I've not used them I expect the very busy bars are the usual venue prices. Expect queus for bars and toilets
K. R.
Very well organized for covid restrictions, staff friendly and helpful.
f.
Great having this fine venue open again, covid checks and balances all in place so somewhat reassuring.
C. R.
Excellent venue for concerts, plays, musicals etc. There is ample parking either on site or across the road in a Council car park. The bar is reasonably priced and there is a great friendly atmosphere. The seating is good, although if you are on the large side (like me!) it can be a bit uncomfortable after a couple of hours!
A. V. H.
Beautiful place, must visit. The show was amazing. Will be back for the next one
M. E.
Best venue I've been to, beautifully designed and with a perfect view of the stage from wherever your standing/sitting. I watched Bombay Bicycle in here and the atmosphere was electric! I hope my favourite bands play here in the near future!
P. J.
Nice place we went there to see fisherman friends yesterday Saturday 6 November they were it was a excellent show.
B. M.
Never have I been so attentively cared for by concert venue staff: the care shown to us here was truly exceptional. I attended with my mother in law who was using a walking frame and the staff were so helpful and kind thay it made the evening something truly special. If you need any assistance just ask them and make sure you buy tickets direct from their box office in preference to e.g. Ticketmaster who couldn't help when I needed to switch my seats to accessible ones.
H. T.
Attended a Bodybuilding competition, was a good atmosphere. The seating rows were angled so you could see the stage wherever you sat. Good layout and amenities. The parking situation wasn’t ideal, we were lucky enough to get a space on the road outside although this was metered.
H. O.
A lovely hall with great acoustics. Not too big so generally get a good view from wherever you sit. We usually try to get a seat facing the stage rather than at the side to avoid neck ache!
S. A.
Went to see Laura Marling during C19 times. All was good, swift to get in and enjoyed the concert.
M. K.
Aladdin Panto was really good - Costa and Bailey were brilliant (the magic was very special as well !!)
J. G.
Great venue, and well organised for people arriving, showing COVID passes, getting temperature checks and ticket scanning. Impressed with the helpful staff.
S. P.
Lovely magical venue. Polite, friendly staff. Always feel I've somewhere special.
G. C.
May the first concert from Pandemia. Very well prepared hall, all smoothly and safely. Very good concert.
G. J.
Always a good visit, friendly staff, great small venue with quality acts
S. R.
First visit in about 35 years. Good venue with proper character. Public Service Broadcasting were great too.
A. C.
Really good small intimate venue, you're close to the stage pretty much wherever you are in the stalls..(standing). I guess the more popular bands wont use it, but it's a better experience like this.
Only down side is the bar is a little pricey..
J. P.
Fantastic Venue to watch Elvis Costello
S. S.
Lovely theatre! Never been before but went with my boys to see Horrible Histories and had a lovely time. Book your car parking online as it is cheaper and guarantees you a space. Only reason for not giving five stars was due to them not being able to tell me when the strobe lights were used, I need to know for medical reasons. However it was the first show.
M. W.
Always a good night. Easy parking
l. t.
Fab, relaxed venue. Security staff and all other staff were very friendly. You could take drinks into event area. We were also able to move around into other empty seats nearer to our friends. The whole feel of the venue made me feel that i would definately be returning.
g. b.
Went to see Diversity live....absolutley amazing. Thanks for a great night!!!
C. W.
A very beautiful and traditional large theatre catering for all tastes. Lovely surroundings near a park. Interior includes a very large bar area. There is ample parking nearby in a public car park or in the theatre car park. There is a fee for parking in both areas. The public car park can be cheaper but fills up quickly for popular shows. Allow plenty of time to get there and enjoy an ice cream or drink before the show. *Check football home games and times as this could seriously add to traffic issues.
A. R.
Absolutly fantastic. Lots of energy. Sensational performance
W. R.
I have been going here for nearly 40 years now and while the hall is better than ever after it's low point a few years ago, the parking is atrocious nowhere on the streets or Victoria Park or the venue itself....
J. B.
Went to see bardi sinphony orchestra. Fantastic, good venue with friendly staff
L. M.
Staff were amazing.Venue fantastic.
A. K.
Really well organised. Bar prices not too bad. We throughly enjoyed who we went to see too.
C. L.
Very lovely venue. Nice and small, so it feel like a more 'personal' performance
D. “. E.
A great theatre with good friendly staff. A good venue for any kind of gig.
G. M.
Great venue capable of multiple layouts for different types of acts. Only negative are the small bathrooms which can become busy before a show and at the intervals. The sound acoustics are good, staff are very friendly and the drink prices are okay
G. G.
Been to this theatre dozens of times
Plenty of parking, either pre booked, on the night or street parking with meters.
Plenty of space for milling around, cafe bars and a proper bar - snacks available too. Box office staff were helpful too.
Not keen on the side circle seats as you crick your neck looking at the stage due to the seats not facing the stage, but all other seats are pretty good. Stage is really high so front row or two does restrict how much back on the stage you can see. The first couple rows on the tier seats are the best in my opinion.
S. B.
A wide stage and large floor area makes this a very versatile venue. It handles West End tours and music concerts equally well. Accoustics pretty good. Parking options are good too either on site in advance, or nearby. Slightly limited facilities e.g. toilets on 1 side of building only, or no draught beer from upstairs bar are only niggles.
P. R.
I've been to DMH several times for various events and it's always been a great experience; good views and comfortable, not packed in. Very friendly and helpful staff too. The car park can be a bit of a pain to get out of but worth booking as parking can be a problem in the day during university term time.
R. V.
A great venue for a friendly atmosphere and great acts without that feeling of being miles away from the stage.
S. H.
Love it here. Every member of staff is friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. Just watched Aliaz and Jeanette from Strictly. Superb. Only issue is the coffee is not good. Stick to the pint of Guinness in future. Prefer it here to The Curve as the ambience is much better and I think they have better and more varied acts/shows. Get here early for parking.
L. V.
Super evening - Hozier concert with a great vibe, really liked the venue and the staff. Great view from the wheelchair accessible seats. Possibly more bars than toilets? Only two disabled loos in the whole place which lost De Montfort Hall a 🌟
G. P.
Good seating not cramped, clean and tidy pleasant staff
S. M.
Great night, great venue, lovely staff.
D. W.
Great venue. Plenty of room in the seats and seating area. Very friendly helpful staff. Went to see awful auntie which was a great production even though there was an unscheduled break in the performance for technical issues. Pay and display car park in the immediate vicinity which allows free parking on Sundays and bank holidays. Very happy with our first visit to De Montford Hall and would highly recommend.
A. S.
We've been several times for different performances. Mostly standup comedy. Very good venue with accessible parking. Small enough to feel part of the show and large enough for great atmosphere. Tonight was Sandi Toksvig - very funny, intelligent lady!
S. S.
Brilliant Peter Pan Panto!! My daughter and 2 little Grandsons and I loved it. Staff very friendly, polite and helpful. We came into the ticket office to register as disabled 2 for 1 tickets on selected shows, and the young lady behind the booking desk couldn't have been more helpful. It was the day approx 1200 school kiddies went to the matinee performance and came out just as we were booking. We could tell they loved it from how excited they all were. Good recommendation!!

Great venue with perfect seating. Venue has good views of the stage and comfortable seating.

Great staff friendly and helpful, politely guide you to where you need to be. Always seems adequately staffed which means no excessive queuing anywhere. Excellent venue, well kept and parking isn't too bad.

great venue, been many times. the Specials were fantastic

Fabulous panto, Peter Pan this year. Great facilities, plenty of parking next to the venue (though easy enough to walk there for me). The Hall is in a lovely location in Victoria Park, with a pleasant stroll into the city centre down New Walk, past the museum.

This is a hidden gem of a venue. The auditorium is classic theatre layout with great views wherever you sit. The range of shows gives credit to the halls administration team. With plenty of parking if you get the opportunity - take it!

Very good music venue

Smart venue, great sound last night, and the refurbished toilets look fabulous!

De Montfort Hall has hosted some of the world's most prestigious events. It has a close vibrant atmosphere which reflects its constant use by every form of entertainment ranging from comedy to ballet to classical music to heavy rock. The hall is set in its own grounds which provide an open air venue for some magical summer evenings.

I saw OMD here,, the venue is what it is,, an old hall,,old building,, old style theatre,,,, but holds performances and is adequate

It was amazing, we went on a school trip to watch Aladdin. The staff was polite and helpful, especially with the amount of children they have on site. The event was organised well, from when we got off the bus to when we needed to leave. A massive thank you for making this possible

The theatre is great. Easy prebooked parking. Really great atmosphere. Seating always seems to have a good view. The panto wasn't that great this year but usually we love it.

It's a very good venue for the sound. It has good space in and the seating the seats are of a good size and are comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful it is wheelchair accessible it has a lift to get to the balcony area

The hall was large enough for the graduation ceremony but the queues getting into the place were long. Very very long. The staff were accommodating but one was sharp to a customer. The grounds were nice for photographs. A Pay and display car park is near by. The car park was tight for the number of cars which tired to park. Overall good.

Great acoustics and comfortable seats! Easy to get to.

Very good facilities. Very convenient parking just opposite, accepting cash and card payment. Drinks are varied and reasonably priced. The Bardi symphony orchestra itself was amazing. Great performance.

A well run venue much better catering a band here than the arenas

Apart from the seating being very close together and being space invaded by an over excited group of women, obviously piled with alcohol and on a works night out; Collabro were absolutely amazing and we had an awesome view from our seats. Although we felt like we were on a boat for much of the show from said ladies bouncing about in their seats in utter delight and 'wooing' as loud as they possibly could, this did not take away from a brilliant night out for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We paid for parking upfront and this worked out really well for us as it was extremely convenient.

We went to watch River dance. What a great evening. Very well organized.

Tony Hadley at the de Montfort Hall worth every penny.

Lovely venue to see a show

Good venue, seats a plenty for most successful comedy acts and aspiring bands. The seating is tiered, so no obstructed views. Seats are comfortable. There's a good bar, well stocked.

Excellent venue with good parking opposite the entrance. £2 after 5pm. My only gripe is that there weren't enough toilet facilities and poor Jason Manford had to carry on with his show with people going out to empty their bladders because they got fed up waiting during the break.

Uprising event went really well good venue for it in this massive building had a great night and the music was superb

The place is smart, well organised, clean and the acoustics is brilliant. My only criticism is that the stage could be bigger but logistically, I don't think it is possible at De Montfort Hall.
Last nights concert featuring Paul Carrack & his superb band, was truly outstanding. Paul is an amazing artist. I'll be back next time he appears in Leicester.

Great show great venue

Easy to get too with a good variety of shows. Nice comfy seats although rows are positioned too close together so if you have someone tall next you you you find they tend to encroach on your space.
Although staff are friendly they do not seem to deal with problem visitors who are are acting inappropriately and ruining the show for many others.

What a lovely concert venue

Great venue. Human League were superb :)

Great venue, wish they had more gigs here.

Saw Australian Pink Floyd at this lovely venue. Band were astonishing and superb view of the stage from our seats Only minor complaint was not enough toilets given the majority of the audience were, shall we say, of a certain vintage 😉

Went to see rock band Thunder, staff very friendly and looked after me as I have difficulty walking. Bar prices are a bit steep, and the leg room between the seats is a bit of a squeeze. Car parking is very good.

Great place for a concert. Staff were helpful. Easy parking.

Very good Covid procedures that make everyone fell safe and welcome. Great staff. Well done De Mont.

Went to see Gabrielle in concert. Parking was well-directed on arrival. Didn't have to queue very long for toilets or refreshments. Entry to seating area well organised and efficient. Great view of the stage from the Upper circle. Only thing that could have been better would be exit from the car park. Everyone trying to leave at the same time, nobody wanting to give way, leads to frayed tempers after an excellent night out. Could do with stewards controlling exits the same way they control entries. Overall though an excellent and enjoyable evening out.

We go here a few times a year and its a good venue for a night out (with a great history of performers). They have a good range of performers. Seats are a little tight and there can be queue to get out of the car park.

I have seen some fantastic shows here over the last five years - pop groups old and new as well as comedians, musicals and tribute bands. I love the atmosphere here and the staff are always helpful and friendly. I enjoy having a drink in the bar after the show too. Great nights out!
