Brilliant little venue tucked away in Leicester City centre. You can even see where the Elephant Man use to be paraded on near by Wharf Street. You can hang by the bar & watch the bands on video / TV screen or get down the front!!

Been coming here for years. Me and family absolutely adore the place, we are music enthusiast and this place suits us perfectly. They've always got a really good mix of artists on so if you don't like them one week you're bound to find someone you like in the coming ones! Amazing staff that are lovely, funny and attentive. Place is great. Plenty of road parking around that's free after 6pm. Acts are always varied and good, venue is really nice, drinks are well priced, staff are friendly and sound quality of the gigs are really on point. Fantastic local music spot which we should be conscious to support.

No hesitation in giving 5 stars to this terrific venue. In the heart of Leicester but just off the beaten track, The Musician hosts and presents an eclectic high quality programme of live music in an intimate setting. The capacity is around 220, but even when substantially less full, the venue feels atmospheric. The sound system - equipment and engineering - are superb. The stage is a good size and offers good sightlines all around the room. The room and facilities are clean, tidy and comfortable. The bar is well stocked, with helpful staff and very reasonable prices. Last but not least, check the listings out - whether you're switched on by tribute bands, top level alt, indie, folk, blues etc., there is bound to be a great night (or two!) just waiting for you!

Compact (220 capacity) long-established music venue/nightclub (opened in 2000) in a former pub which has acts virtually every night of the week ranging from Folk, Blues, Americana, Rock, Punk, Pop and Roots in both original artistes and tribute acts. It also has burlesque and comedy events sometimes. Great place to go to see great acts for a very reasonable ticket price. Great acoustics. Front row of seating is excellently close to stage. Small bar so sometimes there's a slight wait to get served due to a crush at intervals. No food - only bar snacks. Disabled accessible due to street level entrance. No disabled toilet. No car park but plenty of free on-street parking in the nearby streets. [Not open during the day except for special events/festivals. Opens 20:00 - 00:00 Monday - Thursday & Sunday, 20:00 - 01:00 Friday - Saturday. Acts start 21:00 usually - see ticket in Photos if you require confirmation of this information].

Listened to live jazz here. It's not a fancy venue but a very casual, small and authentic venue to listen to music. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and atmosphere, probably because of the performers. The place also had a bar for snacks and drinks to buy.

The main attraction of this pub is the large number of live music acts it offers. The venue is fairly small and basic, but perfectly adequate for the purpose. We went to see Alex Cornish, a very talented, but underrated singer-songwriter. If you're into live music, it's worth checking which acts they've got scheduled.

The Musician is always a good place to visit with friends to watch live bands. The staff are always friendly and the quality of bands are good too. I watched a Queen tribute band there recently who were really good. The bar has a decent choice of drinks and is open till late on Fridays and Saturdays. I'd recommend going here for a good night out!

Our first visit to the Musician and we will certainly be returning had a great night enjoying a Black Sabbath tribute band 'Sack Sabbath'. The Musician hold approximately 200 people so a cosy venue for the lesser known groups. This is more like the small live music venues that have or are popular around the London scene. Fully recommended and I advise looking the Musician on the net for their future acts!

Great venue with good vibes and live music. Entry varies on what bands are playing. Mondays tends to be open mic night managed by Leicester's homegrown boy Kevin Hewick. Good sized stage with lighting and quality sounding PA system. You haven't played Leicester until you've played at The Musician.

It's a good venue with an intimate feel and good acoustics. They have a wide variety of acts. As a pub, it's really not great. Seating is very limited and they only take cash.

First visit there last night to see Alasdair Roberts ... What a great little venue .. perfect for small gigs. Sound and acoustics were very good and, unusually for a 'rock' club .. the loos were spotlessly clean too :) Will be keeping an eye open for other acts appearing there that I like.

Best New Year's Eve for a long time. Friendly staff, great craic (only downside was the bar closed too early after the gig - the venue lost money there as I know a few people who would have been happy to continue drinking a while) As for the bands...Carly is great but she needs to give "Walking in Memphis" more balls. Its gospel/blues babe unless you mean it don't do it. Don't attempt a copy of Cohen or Cher, own it like it's yours. Dawson as always is a legend and the dessenters total class!!! Well done lads!

Intimate music venue: a little stage in the back of a pub. Nice atmosphere tho. A bit far away from anywhere, if you are a woman arriving alone. You can park in a nearby NCP but I scuttled to my car pretty fast.

Great music venue. I spent a day there at the ProstAid fund-raising Jazz Bash. The staff were great. Had a super day. Over zealous parking attendants were the only drawback, especially on a Sunday!!

This pub is a short walk from the town centre in Leicester. We went for the Darker Days festival and it was great. The sound was fab and it filled the whole room. The staff were friendly too. The only downer is that they only take cash payment - we had to walk back to a cash machine up the road.
