Superb live music venue right in the middle of the city centre. Staff are always kind and polite. Drink selection is limited and a little pricey, but most music venues follow this sales method. Would highly recommend for any gigs.
G. H.
Used to be the Masque and the Barfly..
Smallish venue ,standing only with a small balcony.
Sound was excellent for the Alarm and Dave Sharp.Great atmosphere.
Fees of almost 7quid on a 25 quid ticket despite paying on the door was over the top.
usual poor selection of drinks as at the 02 academy .
M. P.
Went to see Ash at this brilliant little venue. Very intimate with an excellent raised standing area so, for a change, my daughter could see. No queues at the three bars which were, as is the norm for similar events, a bit overpriced. No problems with the toilets which are easy to get too being just left of the stage. Friendly door staff and to top of a very positive experience, a fabulous rocking performance by Ash. With tickets relatively cheap and easy on street parking within 5 minutes what's not to like. Recommended 🙂

Great Liverpool city centre venue. Actually two venues in one building. Great atmosphere and a big stage with excellent tech support. Close to all other clubs and bars.
A. M.
This place is superb for a small venue right in the heart of Liverpool's bar scene. From the outside it doesn't look much, but on the inside the atmosphere and viewing area is superb. The floor is terraces so you should get a view of the stage from everywhere. One o my new fave gig venues.
T. J. L.
Great venue, easy to find, street parking a short distance away, 3 bars as I could see in the venue great for keeping hydrated. Different levels to view stage from, no real obstructions. Would highly recommend coming here for gigs.

It's bonkers how I ended up here on Wednesday night. I actually went to the Arts pub opposite the Everyman theatre.. Oops wrong venue although they did have a cracking band in the bar area, heard them doing 1 song 👍 then to Seel street behind the fact cinema to see Frank Turner in the Arts club ( easy mistake 🙄🤣 ) I'd never heard of Frank Turner till a week ago, you know what it's like on YouTube.. Only heard 1 song and thought where's he gigging..oh Sold out.. booooo! Got a ticket off Twickets and hey 🤪 presto.. Brilliant gig. Brilliant venue.. cracking fan's.. I sang along were I could.
Just bought my next ticket to see them Saturday 8th October 02 Carling Academy, Liverpool, 2022.
H. A.
Amazing place and great door staff... we attended a potter payper gig and from queuing up outside to getting in was a breeze and covid guidelines followed... drinks were super pricey, £6.35 for one can of san Miguel, but I still purchased a few... fab venue cannot wait to visit again soon.
P. A.
Great gig ,small venue, so felt quite personal, staff are all really nice had a great night.
R. F.
Great venue for live music, not too big and not too small.
C. N.
Amazing little gaff this. Went to watch the Rats on 11th June. Little bit on the expensive sides for pints (just shy of 7 quid a pint) but besides that, it's a boss venue for live tunes.
N. S.
Patrick is the best. A caring, patient, kind gentleman who provides top class customer service. He deserves a raise!
E. D.
Loved it!! Went for the 00's black parade party! Cheap drinks, great tunes and an incredible night!!
D. A.
Went to see Tom clarke. Was a great small venue. The drinks are expensive with limited options. Also covid passport was checked.
J. T.
Venue is amazing and the sound is spot on BUT, the price for a can of beer is nearly £7. Don't know how they can justify that price. It's Liverpool, not London.
S. M.
It's a great small music venue, a bit dated, but it adds to the experience, holds about 1300 people standing, we saw Tom Walker, great!
S. L.
Lovely venue, as it always has been... Absolutely shocking prices! £6 for a can of beer is disgusting
C. K.
I have seen so many bands there and never a problem. Always recommend this venue, legendary
J. C.
Great venue in the loft, but really pricey drinks, even for a city venue
A. D.
Fabulous venue with amazing staff. Realised at 8 months pregnant I wouldn't be able to view the gig at all. Without hesitation I was allowed on the balcony and had one the best gig experiences ever. Can't thank them enough.
M. T.
Been a while since I've been in here. Beer still overpriced but what's new. Band sounded great.
I. V.
What a fantastic venue. A new one to us, but caught The Magic Numbers there last night and we loved the place. The tiered theatre means everyone can see the stage easily. Acoustics were great as well. We'll be looking for more gigs here in the future.
B. S.
Lovely intimate venue with great sound and layout. Very warm inside which is usually expected. £5-7 for cans of WARM and terrible lager is borderline criminal though. Price is perhaps expected these days in major venues, not small or medium ones...and waiting for a drink to actually cool down first in your hands to make it drinkable is unjustifiable altogether.
S. B.
The raised levels meant we were able to see the band where ever we stood which was great, friendly staff also. The only down side was the toilets weren't stocked with toilet roll, so bring a pack of tissues to avoid being caught out. A great night though 😊.
D. J.
Great little venue for gigs. Yes, the bar prices recently were ridiculous but the staff knows that and it isn’t on them - they were all really nice. Hopefully they’ll sort their bar out now that gigs are up and going again.
M. H.
Staff friendly, great atmosphere and would definitely recommend the venue to bands
J. S.
Fantastic venue. Incredible acoustics. A hidden gem in the heart of the City.
A. 7.
Good sized venue. Been a couple of times. Great sound. 🎵
D. L.
Brilliant venue
D. P.
Good venue to see bands but bar too expensive.
D. S.
Good venue spoilt by the ridiculous prices for drinks
D. R.
Great venue for the gig, but could do with a bigger bar and better beer!
I. A.
Nice little gig, staff were very friendly
E. K.
Nice little venue for gigs. Sound setup is makes for a good show. Of course bar is mad over-priced but (a) that's expected, and (b) there are so many places in the locality you could go to beforehand for food/drinks.
J. Y.
Seen two bands here in the past month and both were beyond incredible, the tight packed room makes way for an amazing atmosphere
D. H.
Great venue with great acoustics, two bars with great atmosphere
G. O.
Fantastic venue with a brilliant atmosphere.
G. D.
Great night watching a band I didn't know here. Excellent feel to the place.
S. C.
Great little venue for watching bands with brilliant viewing steps at the back for vertically challenged people like myself. Bar prices were a bit steep and my 2nd pint I had to take back because it was bad, smelt and tasted foul but the bar staff sorted me a decent pint out. The pumps had definitely not been pulled through prior to opening so watch out for a dodgy first pint. Both drinks were from different bars which explains why my first pint was fine.
D. D.
A good, reasonably intimate venue that suits rock bands down to the ground. 3 bars make it easy to get a drink, but at over £5 a pint you may be concerned about visiting the bar too often! Great acoustics and decent facilities make this one of Liverpool's best rock venues.
E. T.
Great venue, loved it
j. w.
Fantastic little venue, very friendly staff including the door men. Drinks are very expensive, but you have good access to the bars because there's a few of them. Because it's an old theatre you can stand on the tiered section if you're short or just want a better view.
J. M.
Great atmosphere and accustics and well laid out for gigs, alcohol is a little over priced tho
S. S.
Great place for a gig, but the beer prices and choices are ridiculous
S. B.
Excellent place to go watch a band
C. P.
I go to several gigs a year, this is now without doubt my new favourite venue. Awesome sound system and very cool architecture. 3 BARS which is loads for the size of the venue, so no beer queues! My only complaint is that £5.80 for a pint of San Miguel is VERY steep, (that might explain why there wasn't any queues for the beer! Lol) There is a toilet near the entrance and right next to the stage too so not to far to walk inbetween sets either!
y.
Live music was a positive (saw a round of Liverpool rocks, battle of the Bands), a couple of decent bands, but some poor bands also. The venue sound was good, the drinks were expensive and there's no seating upstairs which there should really be in the back room as there is space for it. Average
P. E.
Cracking venue with friendly security staff, decent(ish) toilets but more importantly, a very good PA system. Great for live music. Easy access from Liverpool Central Station. Loads of food outlets and bars nearby. Well worth a visit.
C. W.
Saw Maverick Sabre here. There were a few sound issues with the supporting act. But they sorted it out for the main event, which was awesome! A great little venue for an intimate performance. And there's 3 bars, so no long queues 👍🏾
C. H.
Decent venue that hosts some great bands but at almost 6 quid for a CAN of lager you won’t want to stay too long although going by the amount of time it took the kids behind the bar to serve people you might have to!
D. B.
Great rock night upstairs. £5 for a can of Carlsberg is a bit stiff and caused a few people to leave (in my opinion). Still a good place with good people working there
A. B. (.
Went to see a band which was great only thing was how expensive the drinks are and also just a soft drink which didnt taste the best and was flat which i only drank half as couldnt stomach the rest.
R. S.
Been to see a couple of bands here, and like other small venues, have enjoyed the experience of getting closer to the stage than usual. The Loft is divided into two with the bar in a separate section from the stage. Beer is the usual lager found at most gig venues.
S.
Their Thursday Shit Indie Disco is hands down the best night out in Liverpool. Sustains high energy moshing all the way through, even if you're not into indie music as much it's an experience you won't regret. Love it!
E. B.
Went to see Loathe here. A Fantastic night and venue :-)
G. B.
Went there to see The Alarm, really good!
p. w.
Great gig at the arts club. Nice venue
P. M.
Decent gig in the Loft seeing Her's, great band check them out. Bit of a nark on the door but always a decent place. Drinks though, shocking service. If students need water put some free tap water out instead of letting them queue. Took ages to get a two drinks for myself and my partner.
N. D.
Fabulous venue /great layout and really helpful/friendly staff
K. W.
Good space and reasonable price for drinks. Bit of a maze so pay attention to where you came in!
D. M.
Always a good night, beer a bit expensive so drink well before is my best tip, apart from that entrance to gigs is reasonable for great acts, will be back Friday 👍
A. S.
The club when full is boiling hot I think a ploy to get people to drink more when a bottle of water costs £2.60 and beer is £5.80 a pint your bags are searched which is fine but no food or water is allowed in.
R. P.
Great venue but £6.35 for a can of warm beer!
J. C. S.
One day a friend and I go into this place and order a couple of fancy bottles of beer and a pulled pork sandwich each. Boy did we nail it. The sandwich was massive. Seriously, we could have shared one and been happy, but it tasted so good that we wolfed it down. The flavour was popping, our mouths were tingling afterwards. It felt like we'd tasted a secret age old recipe someone had spent years rustling up. It's even better with a Liverpool Independent card and a relaxing peaceful place during the day to take your laptop and get some work done on the big comfy couches. They even have phone chargers for you to top up your battery whilst eating/drinking. Staff are always lovely. Can't speak highly enough about the place.
A.
EVA is a decent enough bar, with loads of room and comfy couches to lounge on (although one of them had chewing gum stuck and smeared on). They also have really good house music in there, simply going in to listen and hang out is a not a bad idea. This is particularly fitting, as they do have a space for gigs in the basement. It's a great place to hang out and soak up the ambience, and the gig space underneath is relatively decently sized- That is, it's not massive but it can hold a surprising amount of people before it starts getting cramped
J. E.
Funky little place, first time there
G. W.
Just wanted to thank the door staff for sorting our a chair for me when they saw I needed to use walking sticks. Without their help I would have missed a great concert. Brilliant customer service.
a. p.
great place...saw lucy spraggan. friendly staff...good atmosphere
C.
Great atmosphere and a place that puts on some decent artists
R. K.
Lovely intimate venue. Tiered standing room for great views.
D. S.
Great little venue,, friendly and buzzing atmosphere 🤟
K. A.
Great Facilities and Characteristic building. Great Live music venue
P. C.
Great music venue but drinks are stupidly priced considering prices elsewhere. Over £4 for a tin of bitter that's southern prices. Would expect change from a tenner when buying two drinks.. Not in here.
N. C.
Great venue in many ways. Small, intimate, but far too many people crammed into the audience. I spent the concert having people constantly squeezing past me to and from the bar.
S. H.
Great staff good gig
C. C.
Saw roam, milestones and wolf culture here in the loft. Was amazing. Cheap enough drinks great lighting staff are super helpful as well.
C. R.
It's a small, cosy venue probably only holding a few hundred people. It's great for getting close to the bands, and the sound is good too. The drinks are expensive though.
S. H.
We went to see Lee Perry. It was an amazing night, we didn't have to wait to long at the bar, the staff seemed friendly albeit rushed off their feet. Lee Perry as you can expect was epic and the crowd was friendly.
N. b.
Fab little intimate venue. I've now been 2 gigs here, one downstairs and one upstairs in the loft. Definitely go again.
J. S.
Superb small venue, forget stadiums and viewing the artist on a screen for ticket prices of £50 and upwards, this is how live music should be presented, support these venues so we don't lose them.
m. s.
Good venue, vastly overpriced drinks unjustafiably so let's the venue down. Shame because all staff doing a good job
P. D.
Decent venue for following your favourite band.Bar upstairs a bit Spartan in it's choices. Otherwise great location in a thriving part of Liverpool.
M. B.
good atmosphere for medium size gigs
E. T.
Great venue, lovely staff but RIDICULOUSLY PRICED BEER! £5 for a CAN of Carlsberg. Do one.
F. P.
This venue is one of my favorites here on Liverpool I had the opportunity to see Edwin Collins and the creep show and was amazing really cool venue
M. W.
Nice enough place, however beer was poor and the live sound at the gig was also not the best. The band made up for the venues shortfalls
G. K.
Rhythm of the 90's fig upstairs @ the Arts Club. A good sized gig venue, also brings back happy memories of my youth in The Masque as it was.
R.
Nice and runs unique but good artists a lot of the time, also has great events here and there. Drinks are a bit overpriced but that's common for Seel street.
S. A.
Great venue in the heart of Liverpool easy to park and a good atmosphere bit on the pricey side tho £5 plus on some beers
D. G.
Good size venue, decent sound set up and decent sound tech. Door staff are friendly too
J. D.
Ideal size venue really.
p. h.
£6.50 for 1 can of carlsberg. Absolute disgrace.
A. T.
A support act skipped out on us, and we were not told before going in, and then sequentially could not leave and re enter. Be aware. Main event started at 9ish.
M. A.
Great medium sized venue with terrace towards rear giving good view of stage.
G. M.
Good music venue but £5.80 for lager in a plastic cup was not great
S. M.
Good small venue, but beer pricey and warm 😢
S. E.
Great bands, much improved sound system, good view of the stage. On the right night it is magical.
R. S.
Went to a Nu-Metal Anthems club night here. Great, intimate venue with a brilliant atmosphere. Right in the heart of the nightlife.
S. C.

S. J.
