Reviews of artsdepot
L. S.
It was a great experience, never been in a theatre in the UK. I've been with some school children, the organisation was very good, a very clean venue and of course the performance of the actors of
the play "The tiger who went to tea" was excellent. I was amazed 👏
m. m.
I can't recommend this place more. It is a lovely place to be with a variety of activities and shows suitable for all the community and family friendly.
Spacious elevators, safe pram/buggy parking, spotless toilets, a lovely cafe and a cute soft play.
Also, the staff members are polite, helpful and friendly.
Such a great choice for a day out with kids. Definitely I recomend this place and I will visit again.
H. P.
A really lovely environment to experience a range of activities. It's not just for the young, but the young at heart too.
Service and selection at the cafe is good. Toilet facilities were immaculate.
D. K.
Nice and clean theatre. Great productions for kids at reasonable price. The staff is nice and friendly. There are 2 elevators, buggy/pram parking inside next to the toilets, café with reasonable prices with healthy options for kids. A kids hot chocolate is just £1.50. There is not a dedicated parking, but parking is free on Sundays in the neighbourhood.
B. M.
Kids Production of the Tiger who came to Tea, was superb. I even found myself singing along to the songs. Had seats on the side of the main area and these were perfect. Can't wait to go again!!
D. D.
Lovely place, good shows. Auditorium a little on the chilly side (but I guess we need to see a show in summer to decide whether this is a compromise for not needing to strip off in there when it's toasty outside).
P. c.
Lovely local business. Very child friendly. There is cafe inside which is fairly cheap too to grab food for kids to eat! Staff are welcoming and management here are very kind and very friendly.
S. K.
Very clean and well kept venue. Helpful and attentive staff. A good cafe on site though only cards are accepted.
L. B.
A unique art centre I had the privilege to visit courtesy of my friend from the suburbs who took me there where she has visited many times, the centre has a buzz of those young people going there to train to dance, mostly young women learning the difficult and exhausting art of Ballet, I felt tired just watching them limbering up let alone seeing a class doing their exercise routines prior to actually practicing their Ballet moves, the centre's theatres are a must for the children's shows, I tried to convince my friend from the suburbs that the children's shows would be worth us seeing, I enjoy such things at Christmas along with pantomime, why should the young have all the fun, I have grown up near the Barbican centre and impressive though it is it lacks the exuberance and fresh thinking the arts depot clearly passes onto it's young and skilled dancers.
M. P.
We watched Tiger who came to tea with my daughter and her friends. Lovely and clean space for theatre shows and art exhibition.
C. B.
Really nice theatre with comfortable seats and good acoustics. Cafe serving snacks, drinks, ice creams etc.
S. S.
A lovely local theatre I love going here with my kids. Just find all the food etc over priced like all theatres
M. Y.
As for positives, there’s much to enjoy and like about this facility with clean and comfortable seating to easily accessible car parking both directly beneath the facility as well as car parks a short walk away on Stanhope Road. As for the negatives, I wouldn’t attend an evening performance on an empty stomach as there’s not much in the way of catering here nor are there any decent eateries within walking distance, sadly.
R. M.
The artsdepot was a lovely theater and staff was very friendly. Very clean and organised 👏
We watched Jonathan Pie and absolutely loved it.
G. Y.
Always have great fun here. Free activities for children and theatre. Just perfect for us.
A. G.
Great shows ideal for kids, cafe is good for an after show drink.
S. P.
Good seating layout, medium size hall for 400 audience... Stage was right
T. M.
Lovely production of the Tiger who came to Tea, with friendly staff in a great little theatre space.
S. K.
Went to see the tiger who came to tea with my 4 and 2 year olds, they loved it!
C. F.
Went to see a play in the theatre.Nice setting, lights and sound.
The cafeteria has a nice range of snacks.Clean restrooms and welcoming staff.
G. C.
One of our favourite place in North London - for kiddo friendly theatre dance - a must go.
D. B.
Amazing place. Spacious and well kept. I would only say the seats could be more comfy but it's nice place 😌 ☺
Z. K.
Was a brilliant night at the Barnet schools dance festival well done 👍😎
This place is great for families, they have a Sarah and duck live show in the Easter holidays for anyone who's interested with young children.
M. K.
Great little theatre, friendly staff
D. B.
I really like this local theatre, been there twice in the last few weeks, nice to not have to shlep into town always. Shows were good- Jo Brand , and last week- The Ronnie Scott's Songbook- out of this world show, and we were home in 15 minutes.
Seats comfortable, coffee bar service always a bit slow, not really a food place.
A. C.
Arts Depot is a fantastic family venue to see first class productions in a welcoming, inspiring and relaxing venue. Regular interactive artist installations during school holidays are always thought provoking and fun for my little one to explore. We go to see shows here at least once a month but probably more because they have a super schedule of great shows and we have never been disappointed. Only difficulty is parking!
d. c.
Great combinations of arts, local, national & international to suit all ages and tastes
P. L.
Something of a community centre and particularly has dance classes for young people. Also 2 theatre auditoriums. Acts playing there can be very variable from the best you can see anywhere to those you wish had chosen a different career; so choose carefully! There is a cafe and a play area for the very young. All in all an asset to the Barnet population.
G. K.
Lovely theatre with comfy seating situated in North London. It's really well hidden but seems like it has some really good shows.
Attended a charity event there and was pleasantly surprised how lovely it was
K. J.
Went to see a musical performance. The place is clean and lots of room to wander around. The main venue has comfortable seats and being on the small side, it had a relaxed and personal environment. The bar is okay though the wait to get a drink was a bit on the long side. Good place all round.
R. R.
Variety of shows, classes and workshops available here for children and adults. Fantastic theatre to visit with a great little coffee shop offering decent refreshments. Been coming here for the last 4 years even though it's on the other side of town for us.
C. M.
Saw the LSC first year showcase' here. Excellent venue and very good show.
R.
Intimate theatre. Great social distancing, I felt safe through the performance we attended post lockdown. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
M. H.
Good venue for live performance. Good café too.
J. R.
The theatre is nothing special but well run and plaisant, surprisingly big stage, the only seats I wouldn't recommend are the side stalls. The coffee place too expensive so bring your own snacks.
K. D.
Superb local theatre with an enormous range of theatrical entertainment as well as stuff for kids, both shows and workshops etc. World class acts and TV comedians perform here as well as the more modern theatre groups and local acts. A really diverse programme and decent prices too. Brilliant spacious architecture with a cafe/bar. Well worth a look just to get a coffee or lunch. You can park underground in the shared Aldi car park for a pound with a lift up to the theatre.
P. K.
Visit atleast once a month! Lovely selection of plays and pantos. Cafe is great especially the kids lunch box option 😁. There's not many activities during the school holidays though!
P. R.
Depends what you're seeing obviously, but a nice theatre which takes smaller tours.
Good café/bar. Worth using pubic transport, as parking is either take-a-change competing with the supermarket, or a 5 min walk to the nearest council car park.
A. B.
The tiger that came to tea was very good
B. H.
Saw Cinderella with my little uns and wife and absolutely loved it.... laughed from start to finish... very talented performers who morphed from actors into accomplished musicians ... didn't want it to end !
J. L.
The building is a bit of a lump - North Finchley could of done with some trees and a little air rather than this monolith closing off that end of the town. However, it's a well specified arts centre with an impressive roster of events. I'm not sure they have any parking and local parking is scarce, which is a shame.
O. G.
Very arty location with events for all ages. Great place to take classes in ballet, modern and contemporary. There is a nice cafe to have coffee or lunch.
J. C.
Nice space; reminded me of an evangelical church with the modern wood seating. Plenty of space which is unusual in London. Pleasant deco; I didn't feel there was much character though so the performance was left to stand up for itself.
E. T.
Easy to get to by tube and bus. Nice licensed cafe selling beer, wine, coffee, soft drinks sweets and sandwiches. Friendly helpful staff. We saw Simon Evans in the studio, which is a small & intimate venue with the most uncomfortable seats I've probably ever experienced! We both ended up with numb bums & mild aches in our backs and shoulders. We noticed quite a few other folk near us fidgeting; maybe they found the seats uncomfortable too?
A. H.
Dance theatre venue with children's play area and occasional art gallery. Wall for budding artists to display. Hire fee plus, I think, 20% of your sales.
Cafe offering good service and simple food during term time. Parking underneath Aldi and some off street parking in the shopping side streets.
L. M.
Just had a fantastic late birthday surprise at artsdepot tonight seeing The Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club In-house band perform their On The Road set. Fantastic night alround. Great venue, very helpful staff, easy access and good facilities for all comers, very good prices for tickets, refreshments, etc. A wonderful venue also for less high profile events, for children and the local community. A great local cultural hub for the arts for all ages.
G. P.
Nice place, lots of activities overall but doesn't cover all ages and activities. For some reason there is a loud message on the speaker at 17:30 noticing that the centre is closed and the public is asked to leave, though in fact there are more activities going on..
G. M.
A lovely little theatre
T. O.
Great shows for kids
T. A. C.
Saw Cinderella the Rockin’ Panto. Top Draw. Brilliant performance, incredible performers, amazing set design, lighting, sound & costumes. Lots of fun, highly recommended.
H. E.
Great children's productions!
H. R.
My 5yo son and I have been going there for nearly three years now for theatre! Amazing selections of theatre experience for children at great ticket prices. We can't recommend it enough x
S. M.
Excellent Location, Service and Reasonable Price . I went to Artsdepot for the first time last Saturday. The show was Bring on the Bolliwood. The show was simply amazing, better than some of the West End ones i have seen. Very impressed with Arts depot in every sense, staff, facilities and location.
Will go again.
S. L. W.
we love the space and it's great for taking the kids to - even when there is no show on they can just hang out. But it's really let down by the cafe which tbh doesn't serve good coffee.
S. V.
A very nice place ... All kind of people category have their place in the Playground Area for kids , MiniBar for Adults and Theatre for all ages
b. b.
TAL Theatre Life Academy is on every Sunday, 6 - 9's 10am - 11am and 10 - 16's 11am - 12pm kids learn acting, dancing and singing all within 1 hours classes are £8 per week per child. Have a look at their website theatrelifeacademy.co.uk the main teaches name is Danielle.
C. B.
A theatre and arts centre that presents a good variety of family focused shows and exhibitions. With a child friendly cafe and play area.
V. K.

The Arts Depot is a great venue in North Finchley, perfect for belly dance, bellydancing, ladies' fitness classes and performances. It is clean, bright, very conveniently located and easy to access by car or public transport.
J. G.
A nice theater hall.
S. K.
Great performance , brilliant show.
C. T.
Good venue for kids shows. There is parking below the venue which is useful. There is short play for the kids and a small coffee, snack bar.
J. S.
Brilliant panto Cinderella, funny, great songs and interaction with audience
H. L.
We went to see the Rockin' Cinderella Panto.
It was amazing! Such talented people!
We would definitely go again.
S. K.
Beautiful theatre. Lovely ushers. Only negative is parking. Nearest parking is about 30 minutes away.
V. F.
loved the play - nearly impossible to park and we went to a 2pm show that finished at 3pm and the indoor cafe said it was too late to serve coffee , it was 3:15(weird) ?!
N. K.
So child friendly , there is always something on to fit all ages! Parking is a bit of pain around so add a few minutes to your journey time to look for that spot!
S. S.
Great for the area, a modern purveyor of the Arts from Dance to theatre and music. I saw a show here and it was very family friendly and a great experience in an otherwise uneventful part of the city.
T. A.
Good size venue, and the seats are laid out in such a way that you'll always be able to see the stage. Food and drinks are a tad expensive.
D. R.
Lovely play area for children.
Nice café, dance studios and theatres all under one roof.
Much more than all this available.
D. N.
I was acting in a play there. Good dressing rooms, good audience seating. Easy access and parking nearby. Also a good cafe there.
L. S.
Good venue, the cafe was a bit lacking, the bar upstairs is better, needs more staff serving during the interval. Really close to the stage and very friendly staff.
B. W.
