Reviews of Bush Hall
E. A.
Been many a times to various gigs and still one of my favourite venues for live music. Great sound and good space, friendly bar and door staff.
c.
Beautiful, intimate venue with a great decor and a feeling of warmth. A nice place to take your partner. The only downside was London priced beer... an upside was the smoking balcony with a view to the stage.
H. W.
Recently went to see my incredibly talented friend Ellie M perform here (stream her on Spotify!), supporting punk rock band Gingerella, both excellent performances. Bush Hall itself is a great venue, beautiful decor and brilliant acoustics - they really know how to put on a good gig! Drinks are reasonably priced for London and it's in a good area, lots of pubs and restaurants nearby.
G. B.
Really nice venue. Good vantage points of the stage from anywhere you sit and nice acoustics.
M. S.
Really nice venue. Friendly bar staff - offered a different choice of beer when they realised my bottle was not chilled :-) The hall itself is impressive - great for listening to upcoming or established bands and the sound was excellent. Also, whilst it was sold out, it did not feel cramped or crowed.
T. S.
Been to many wonderful performances from people ranging from Anna Calvi, Dweezil Zappa, Heather Small from M People among others. Wonderful venue with a great atmosphere and in most cases great sound. the only reason i don't give it 5 stars is during Heather Small (great show by the way), Boy George was in the audience and being a fan, i didn't have the heart to just go up to him after and say i liked his music without asking anything like an autograph or photo off him (which if i did, he would have probably hated me) which is not the venues fault at all but that's my reason why it wasn't a 5 star experience and i'm sad. no one however will come away sad with the class and the quality of shows put on by this fabulous venue
K. V.
Smelled like a damp bush. Seating for a Covid show was not strategically put down so that viewers could see the show properly. On the plus side ordering drinks was easy through app. Thank god show was a short time and they were ready to take in more punters.
C. G.
Amazing venue, a very comfortable space to be in. Butufly ornate calling and a few crystal chandlers hanging about made the toon a spectacle. We went to see Chase Rice play. staff were freindly, polite and courteous, I would love to see more stuff here. Will have to have a look at the upcoming events.
D. H.
Brilliant venue for intimate gigs. I feel like many and up and coming artist has had a show here.. And if not... they should... Saw Mat Kearney here.
S. E.
A lovely compact venue. Security safe but not officious. Stage not too big so no room for a lot of theatricals. Can be standing or seated.
D. O.
Went to see The Cactus Blossoms, they've previously played here before and the atmosphere is really nice for this band because it's cozy but the decor is decadent! It really suits upcoming bands and can fit a decent amount of people in it and you can experience the music up close.
J. P.
Wonderful venue. Great sound, friendly staff and even a rooftop beer garden / smoking area. One of my favourite venues in London.
v. b.
Great small venue - I put it down half a star because the bar is a bit meh. All the beers are bottles and were warmish, but the staff was nice and helpful
m. w.
I saw a concert here which was sold out. The decor and building is pretty cool, I can see why some people hold weddings here. The sound was good and if its a seated gig then wherever you sit the views were good. So here is the downside. 1 gents toilet, and 1 ladies. which is at the front of the building, and there is space in the toilet for 1 in the cubicle and 3 stood up (and that is snug and abit uncomfortable if you don't like touching arms with someone while they do their business) 1 sink to wash your hands. Maybe there was another set of toilets I didn't know about. The bar is small but tbh if you are watching a concert then drinking lots of beer isn't the way forward. There is a restaurant next door with amazing food so that's really handy. It's also near the tube so access is good.
A. S.
Amazing venue, great staff.
J. P.
Really nice little venue, makes a change from all the huge, busy, sweaty places I've been before. Real intimate gig, very enjoyable.
Queueing outside in the cold for over half an hour past billed start time wasn't good though, the limited toilet facilities not ideal either.
D. C.
Great venue, small, intimate. Upstairs for the smokers outside balcony. Drinks not in plastic glasses! Saw Reverend and The Makers (acoustic) gig. Fantastic. Buy their CDs if you don't have them.
R. C.
Lovely music venue. Reasonable drinks prices and pretty good sound system. Great place to see some smaller bands before they reach the big time.
They also have very interesting articles and reviews framed in the reception about past acts who played there. Including kings of leon and amy Winehouse.
P. O.
Lovely place to go and enjoy love music. Also has a dining room next door. If booking tickets, check out the combo tickets for entry and dinner.
J. S.
Lovely little intimate venue in an old converted ballroom. Acoustics are great and you can get a good view of the stage from anywhere in the room - Highly recommend for live music.
M. V.
A fantastic, intimate venue. I can highly recommend the David Ford Milk & Cookies Christmas Charity show that is held every December!
J. R.
This is a great venue and a really good place to see a band. The only issue is that the bar is small at the beginning of the night this can be very busy and you have to wait a long time.
P. T.
Lovely intimate venue with a nice bar. Long walk from the station though.
Y. S.
Independent music venue dating from the 1900s that still features chandeliers and original ceiling decor, resulting in very intimate concerts. No frills, just the music in an atmospheric setting.
B.
I was here for a Johnny Hates Jazz concert last year. A really great smaller venue for a concert. Good sound and good acoustics. The staff was friendly and helpful. Right next to the venue there is a Bush hall bar and restaurant. I enjoyed a good glass of white wine there. So go find a concert to be played at Bush Hall and spent an afternoon around Shepherd's Bush quarter. It's a very interesting neighbourhood with so many different cuisines. I can't wait to be back.
T. (.
Beautiful venue with some real old school charm, if one of your favourites performs here definitely go!
S. G.
Fab venue great to be able to see the bands close up and Ultrasound were fantastic.
R. K.
Possibly my favourite music venue in London because of its intimacy. No matter where you're standing you're close to the artist.
Could be better drink options on the bar and everything served in plastic 🙈 toilets could do with a refresh too.
A. H.
Stunning venue available for hire for any requirements
N. K.
Such a cozy concert hall. Went there on a Wednesday to see Oh Land and I have had an unforgettable evening. Great space with good sound system and bar inside. Reasonable price with interesting selection of beer selection. Right next door there is lovely restaurant that belong to BushHall where you get 10% discount for food&drinks when you attend an event/gig. Check out their website for upcoming events
R. D.
Nice venue, they have a bar but it's small and toilets but there quite small too. Make sure you get there early if you want to sit near the front, plus the back seats aren't as comfortable. Very pretty decor, be nice to go to an event where is been used as a hall.
M. T.
Fabulous venue for great live music. A very relaxed atmosphere fills thus venue. Its history is quite fascinating ...apparently once a dance hall bought by a father for one of his daughters! It's a flat walk in from the street so handy if you aren't so steady on your pins. Highly recommended
N. F.
Very nice venue although I don't like the neighborhood
A. t.
This is a great venue. Bit of a hidden gem.. Quite grand inside, not a bad bar.. (seen some great gigs here which helps!) definitely worth keeping an eye out for what's on here.
S. M.
Excellent venue - was there for Devin Townsend and it was perfect for the acoustic session. Nice decor and great prices on the drinks. Only £2 for a pint of soft drinks which I thought was great value. If there is aver a gig on there again I would be glad to visit.
N. L.
Very good venue for folk/country acts from USA such as Molly Tuttle, Josh Turner (the Other Favourites) and the Cactus Blossoms, to name three recent acts that appeared there. Friendly and intimate venue with little used balcony at the back.
N. C.
Great venue with a great atmosphere. I would definitely go to a gig here again!
R. W.
The doors were supposed to open at 7.30 and there was a large queue, they didn't let people in until after 8pm, just as well it wasn't raining. The sound was good and all the staff very polite. Not sure why they had seating out for a funk soul dance act. Drinks a little pricey.
B.
A superb intimate atmosphere and one of my favourite places for gigs.
A. H.
The hall is quite small but I was pleasantly surprised by the unusual architecture and quirkiness of the venue. Overall its a great venue and the lighting and sounds were great. Friendly Staff, great atmosphere and drinks were reasonably priced. Definitely will come back again!
D. B.
Great location and atmosphere. Very cool venue.
R. R.
Small and cosy venue that is super easy to get to either by the tube ir buses. Drinks prices were reasonable. The acoustics of the venue is not great and there are areas that has an obstructed view of the stage. The reason for it getting 4 stars instead of 3? Is purely because you are able to get reslly close to the act that's performing there.
T. A. -. F. L.
A nice venue. Clean and quite well decorated.
A. F.
Great intimate venue and good value drinks. Sound was great the last few times I've been there, wish all my favourite bands would perform here! Doormen could have been more friendly though.
A. U.
Beautiful ornately decorated hall in Shepherd’s Bush which is very deceiving from the outside as it does not compare with the beautiful style of the decor inside. Nice venue for private gigs. Small bar at the front of the building but sufficient for the space. A nice little surprise when you step inside
M. W.
Really nice venue, never been here before
M. V.
Great little place, intimate setting. Would recommend you go see an artist perform here
J. S.
Went to the Hungry Heart Bruce Springsteen party and what a great night we had! Bush Hall was a great venue with 2 bars, one downstairs and one up that had an outside terrace. Drink prices were reasonable too.
N. G.
Nice venue but just a bit too hot. Facilities need updating.
K. J.
Lovely small music venue, with very friendly staff
J. D.
Strange place, expensive bar (£5 for a 330ml can of beer (no taps), £22 for a bottle of mediocre wine). No bag checks on the door so go to Tesco on the way and take your own booze in. Gents were busy as they were a) tiny and b) flooded.
M. P.
A beautiful building let down terribly by no air conditioning. The view for a standing audience is also poor unless you are near the front. Parking is a 'mare, drinks are pricey, welcome to London. Sound is good though. 😉
J. K.
Very odd concert hall as the seats were put out in rows like a council planning meeting. No standing. Acoustics great. An intimate gig venue
A. S.
How has it taken me nearly 50 years to find this venue. Superbly straightforward and charming. Don Felder tonight was better than the Eagles concert at Wembley Stadium in the summer. Almost took me back to seeing a much better Eagles concert at the old Wembley in 1996.
S. T.
Amazing experience, efficient staff. We really enjoyed the evening. Thanks u so much guys for your really hard work.
K. D.
A great traditional gig venue. Its about a 5-10 minute walk from shepherd's bush Market tube station. The bar has a good selection of beer and wine, prices are par for the course for gig venues.
D. M.
Bush hall is a beautiful venue with a very relaxed and enjoyable vibe. The venue has this great dichotomy created by the ostentatious decor and the chilled out staff.
My girlfriend and I travelled here to watch Needtobreathe supported by Ella the Bird (who I highly recommend). I immediately felt at ease in a room that was full but not overcrowded with other good folk ready to appreciate some soothing tones.
d. g.
Great music venue great band as always
S. C.
Beautiful place for a gig, sound was great and staff were really helpful.
F. B.
Love venue for acoustic music and close up viewing.
S. W.
Old Victorian venue I think, easy to get to, bar downstairs, terrace bar upstairs which weirdly has smoked glass overlooking the place why would you do that? Anyway had a pretty good evening here. 3.5 stars
j. l.
Great venue for live music.
R. E.
Great gig. First time to this venue it's a beautiful hall. Very warm though so not sure if enjoy so much in the summer.
L.
So small cute and personal! Great for up close and personal gigs!
S. I.
Last here for the last ever White Mischief night on New Years Eve. Stupendous night, great entertainment, lovely people watching opportunity and dancing, dancing and more dancing under their beautiful chandeliers. It's a gem of a building next door to its sister businesses Bush Music and Bush Dining Rooms. There's always a lively atmosphere here at whatever gig l attend. Their newsletters inform you well in advance who's on and how to get discounts. I get mine through Timeout Black. It a popular Burlesque and Cabaret venue with out landish competes and a fabulous reputation for booking new and unusual music acts. Currently it's supporting Bush Theatre while it's premises are being radically altered so you will see a different kind of drama on the schedule. Prices vary from to£10 to £25 average for tickets. Drinks reasonable.
W. R.
Can't believe I've never been to Bush Hall before!! What an amazing venue! It's so ornate in the hall itself. Chandeliers, the lot! & well!, when you visit the loos ....that's another story! Brilliant!
C. R.
Beautiful interior for intimate events. We watched a comedy night and really enjoyed it. Some great pubs on the same road for pre or post drinks.
J. G.
Not bad- bit of an odd venue but a decent selection of drinks behind the bar and the comedy show we saw was brilliant.
A. A.
Beautiful venue, with excellent decor, great sound and easy location close to tube stop. 1 star off for charging £5 for a bottle of beer though.
P. S.
Went to see a IFLS show. The main room downstairs was very spacious. Maybe 100 people seated. I didn't venture upstairs but there is a bar and a balcony.
T. D.
Great venue. Great music. ❤️
m. d.
Went to visit Betty Who, idiot didn't turn up until after 2 hours. I already left by that time, what was the highlight for me was the red wine at the bar and reading my book. Didn't really stay long enough, nice atmosphere
B. R.
Another great gig night
C. a. N.
A lovely venue. Went to see 'The Other Favourites' fantastic. Warm and friendly staff. Lovely period decor and great acoustics.
D. N.
Interesting little venue for live music. Certainly a bit different from your regular places, and has nice charm and character to it. It was a bit difficult to spot from the outside if you don't know what you're looking for, I walked past it two or three times before I realised where it was!
L. D.
Lovely venue that is full of character and history. Great for all different occassions.cant wait to attend the disco night.lovely staff. Highly recommend
H. H.
Cracking venue, intimate feel but sound issues plagued our evening, little disappointing.
S. E.
Great intimate venue for live shows!
S. D.
It doesn't look like much from the outside and you need to traipse down into deepest Shepherd's Bush to reach it, but Bush Hall is very beautiful on the inside, with gorgeous stucco'd walls. They seem to attract an interesting roster of quirkier artists, from indie to folk, who don't mind the slightly subpar facilities and occasionally wobbly sound quality. Still, this place has lots of charm and it's a great venue to see a performer like Bat for Lashes, who can live up to the scenery.
r. a.
Amazing little venue. Up close and personal, good sound, roof terrace, great place to watch a band.
P. Z.
It's a nice venue, very casual (not too crowded). There is second floor with the second bar and the balcony when you can relax with friend and have a cigarette ☺️
S. F.
Saw Ian Moss here. Such a great intimate venue for a small concert. Even has a small bar at the front. Really enjoyed it.
A. O.
Saw Paul Dempsey live. Accidentally sat next to him at dinner next door too. Great night. Basic but charming hall. Good venue.
B. L.
Came here for a gig, loved the laid back vibe and the vintage style of the hall and bar. The upstairs bar is a decent shout for a view over the crowd.
R. K.
Nice venue. Great staff. If your favorite band is playing there you can easily meet them
J. T.
Historic music venue. Lots of famous artists have performed there in the past. Needs quite a bit of updating as it looks a bit run down.
S. J.
An intimate and very cool music venue. Seen some great gigs there with good levels. Bar staff are very friendly and professional.
S. M.
The Blues Chronicles show was brilliant, well suited to the Bush Hall, much better than the Jazz Cafe.
D. H.
Non-descript exterior that's easy to miss once the entrance queue has died down, but an ornate interior with limited viewing from the balcony.
Can get very hot inside, given the small room.
S.
Good venue with a nice roof terrace and very cool security and customer service. Nice and down to earth with a friendly vibe
H.
Great venue, lovely high ceiling in the main room, stage is also quite high so you can see what is going on.
S. L.
Great small venue for live music, size of bar can make the wait for a drink quite long at busy times but that's not the end of the world.
a. k.
Really nice venue, small and intimate with super tall ceilings and beautiful decor friendly staff really delicious food
M. D.
I love Bush Hall's chilled laid back vibe, beautiful decor and chandelies.
The sound system was pretty good too when watching Eaves and their acoustic support act.
A. A.
Amazing venye with a really decadent feel, chandeliers, red cutains, cofy chairs. The frew helping with spund, cameras were excellent and made Fraser Anderson's gig absolutely fantastic. Very close to Shepard's Bush Market station.
j. g.
If a musician you like is scheduled here go! Sound is wonderful and the venue so small you are guaranteed a great experience.
M. P.
Fantastic venue, it only holds 440 people but the atmosphere it creates is amazing.

D. W.
Great venue! Intimate, but with great sound and brilliant period decor. Love it!
S. H.
Very interesting Victorian music hall. Good live music venue. Not good for queuing outside.
D. G.
Great venue, good for a more personal concert, Heather Small fantastic sound.

Great venue, it just seems natural that you're going to have a good time there.

Really quaint place for a show. The chairs are placed a little too close together for comfort, but it’s a nice venue.
P. H.

1.
Amazing venue! Watched The Strumbellas play there. Absolutely awesome!!!
D. T.
Really nice venue for live music, surprisingly good beers for sale as well.
P. S. C.
The old world glamorous interior apparently inconsistent with the surrounding streets in a historically working class area. A real sense of history of enlightened improvement of the working class and their ambitions.
A. L.
A good venue - friendly staff, good atmosphere, good sound. Entirely decent drinks, too.
P. W.
Great old school venue. Some greats have played here. Nice smoking terrace.

T. M.
Great venue for live performances. Sound travels well around the place.

(Translated) It's a nice live house! Great venue! ! !
The interior was so cute that I was fascinated! It seems that famous bands often come because many people can attract customers. It's like a medieval castle. Not too bright, not too dark, very comfortable. The live sound didn't hurt my ears!

素敵なライブハウスです!Great venue!!!

(Translated) I liked the Auditorium. What does not seem normal to me is that people are allowed to drink inside with glass bottles. For the safety of the group performing and for the safety of the listeners. I stepped on a bottle in the dark and I could have fallen, or sprained myself ... I haven't seen it anywhere. The number of bottles thrown on the ground was considerable. I think it is unsafe and unhygienic.
