Reviews of Jazz Cafe
R. W.
My first time in attendance.
Intimate and warm venue.
Was able to grab a no-show table. So glad, the meal was fantastic! Good quality tasty food. The staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.
N.
Fantastic Darius Brubeck concert.
Recreated the Time Out album of his father, Dave Brubeck's, quartet. It was based on unusual time signatures (not something that I fully understand). Famous tracks included Take Five and Blue Rondo a la Turk, plus some newer numbers from Darius' own quartet.
Good choice of bar drinks.
Helpful staff. Very little queueing.
Difficult to social distance in the standing only area. Book early to get restaurant tables upstairs.

The door staff, cloakroom attendants and the individuals that tidy the venue, are fantastic. Friendly, professional and helpful. A good vibe in the venue and very spacious. Covid requirement checks, are proficient and generally the crowd that attends are chilled and good natured. I would recommend this iconic venue. Two minute walk from Camden Town station.
R. S.
A really great venue! Saw a German group the other night and it was an absolute blast! Staff are real friendly, good places to dance around, and safe environment. I'd definitely go back
A. P.
I had such a great evening out the other night at the jazz cafe. Straight away we were welcomed by very accommodating and friendly security, who helpfully directed us into the venue and showed us where to leave our belongings. The bar staff were also very welcoming and showed interest in what I fancied to drink for the evening, carrying the same service through the whole night. The atmosphere of the night overall was really special to me. The venue itself lived up to expectation and all the staff were so lovely and professional. I will definitely be back soon!
A. D.
What a venue! Lovely knowledgeable staff, interesting layout and cool decor. Amazing food menu and cocktails. Super large back bar especially the bourbons, great selection, try something new! They always get the best acts in, top notch musicians and the sound engineers knows exact what they're doing. Couldn't recommend the Jazz cafe highly enough.
L. P.
Bang Average food. The staff especially Flora are outstanding and welcoming. The venue is class oozing character. The sound is great throughout venue, although appreciate depends on the artist and set up. Drinks are London priced and not typically overwhelming. Will be back quickly.... no food... more stars
J. J.
The Iconic Jazz Cafe is a wonderful venue to enjoy musical performances. The sound acoustics is of high quality 👌 making the live performance sound just like listening to the actual recording. They provide a very safe environment whether you are attending solo or with a group. The artist in my picture is recording artist, Howard Hewett, stellar performance 👏.
J. B.
What an atmosphere. We saw OSIBISA and it was electric. We sat upstairs in the restaurant overlooking the stage and enjoyed great service. We are coming back soon. Tnx to all the crew at Jazz Cafe xx

I went to the Jazz Cafe on the 4th of December to see Red Snapper and I would like thank the two gentlemen on the door for being so helpful and very professional, they really made my visit to this amazing venue even more memorable. This was only my second visit to this great venue but really looking forward to the next time. The concert was also fantastic, great band, wanted to see them again for a long time, the sound was also amazing, very happy with the whole experience :) thanks again

As good now as it was 30 years ago. Great venue for high quality live music, well stocked bar with friendly staff. Although we didn't eat (they have a seated area in the mezzanine looking down on the stage but tables go very quickly, so an early booking is advised if you want to eat/have a seat). Transatlantic Bowie, an ensemble of 10 highly talented musicians, gave a superb performance, coming onstage just before 9pm. Good facilities with clean, spacious toilets and a safe cloakroom (£2:50). In all, a fantastic venue for a great night out!
B. L.
Went to the Jazz Cafe to watch the Ebony Steel band play Kraftwerk songs while having dinner upstairs. The band were excellent! The decor upstairs is a is very nice, has a 1920s feel. I had the Peruvian Wings for a starter which was nice.. For the main course i had the beefburger which was succulent and filling. I then shared the vegan btownie with my partner. She had the Citrus Seared Tuna which was small but very tasty. The seabass was for the main course was good.and then we shared a vegan brownie in ice cream.
The dishes are slightly expensive more in a small pub bit then it was the Jazz Cafe, a well known music venue. Would gladly come here again for dinner while seeing more good music.
S. R.
The Frankie Knuckles celebration show was 💯 amazing. Love The Jazz Cafe and have been coming for decades.. But, the restaurant experience was a let down. Given the prices charged, the quality and overall service was not good enough. Sadly, don't think I'd bother with the restaurant again.
A. L. C.
One of the best small intimate venues we've ever seen. It felt like the band was playing for us. Excellent attention by the staff for drinks. Brilliant sound mixing. It was just perfect, surpassing our expectations
J. D.
Had an amazing night at the Jazz Cafe watching Afriquoi last night. Such a great atmosphere. Security and the bar staff were also very understanding and responsive when we had an issue, making us feel very safe and well looked after. Will definitely be returning soon!
K. o. f.
Just back from a night of neo soul, a lovely night which in my opinion was spoilt by almost all the songs being sung by two singers and the best singer singing leading only the first and last song of the night.
This is not to say the other singers were not good but she (who sang Jill Scott is it the way and Sunshine Anderson Heard it all before in its entirety) was the best singer by far but appeared to be relegated to a backing singer for almost all of tonight's show - it didnt seem fair or logical.
S. L.
They are amazing shows there everything is clean .lovely staff
S. B.
Great venue. Lovely old building. Small enough to be intimate.
Drinks are so expensive tho. 4 large rum and cokes, on the nose £50!
And yes I have been to London before!
K. i.
I was here for Sauti SOL and it was amazing! The set up is quite intimate that the people seated eating can share the same space and energy with those on the dance floor and vice versa.
S. H.
They used to be a good venue. But after the pandemic they all are about making money. They sell ticket for 7PM. Performance, and they start letting people in at 7:30 , the program doesn’t start until 8:30. Then what was promised as a flamenco dance program only contains 2 minutes of dance , which due to the lack of space starts as sitting and continues as tap dance! Like Irish dance, ridiculous. They have also turned the upstairs into all restaurant. So the viewing balcony upstairs doesn’t exit anymore. So the whole venue looks like the downstairs of titanic no view with the smell of the stinkiest fish cooking for the restaurant with rude waiters who insult you if you ask them when the balcony upstairs became a restaurant. My last time here. Jazz cafe is no longer a jazz cafe , it’s a restaurant with mediocre performances.
S. S.
Great venue, really good atmosphere and loads of space. The vibe is amazing.
Only sad part is the drinks were a bit pricey!! £24 for two double rum and cokes, OUCH! giving it 3.5 stars for price
T. T.
Fabulous place with great food and really reasonably priced. Staff are all friendly. Definitely coming back.
A. B.
Great live venue, good vibes and nice bar staff. One of the speakers was clearly blown during the performance but not much they could do in the middle of an act. Would like to return here for a meal. Would suggest they add solo dining tables though as it seems restaurant table tickets are only sold as 2 or more.
J. G.
Jazz Cafe always a good night. The sound is good. The bar is well staffed and efficiently run, so you don't miss too much of the gig getting a drink. Located right in the heart of Camden so plenty going on roundabouts. Recommended
M. R.
Fantastic music venue with restaurant, reasonably priced.
A. W.
Great for Live Music but they need to upgrade the air conditioning. It gets too hot.
C. Y.
Very nice place, especially upstairs is great and most importantly the food is excellent. I have had the best ever sea bass there!!! Strongly recommend you...
o.
I had the most incredible time at this venue. Friendly staff, fast service and great music. I was served by Aaron who embodied excellence. Cannot wait to be back!
M. B.
Great venue overall! Staff are accommodating downstairs and also upstairs in the restaurant. The food and drinks were incredibly delicious! Perfectly designed venue with views to watch gigs from the balcony whilst you eat and drink - 10/10 highly recommend for families or a sweet date night
N. A.
Southern Fried Chicken and Soul Music..... Great venue. Upstairs book the tables in the front or second rows, third row ok but not the best views. 5 stars all round though.
E. D.
A great evening watching Alfredo Rodriguez & Pedrito Martinez. Maria's service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive, and happy to make some very helpful and good recommendations for food and drink.
N. M.
Music was good. Pretty expensive. But my partner lost their keys and the venue was terrible at communicating via text or IG. Took us a week to find out if they were there.
D. l.
Small, intermit, amazing vibe and atmosphere.
Up close and person to the stage
R. M.
Nice venue, great to be back at live music, good drinks selection and excellent show from The Bays that night 😁
A.
We booked a meal upstairs on the gallery overlooking the stage. Great view of the gig and a good menu with a wide variety of selections for all tastes. Brilliantly attentive service. You all can continue for free into the club night after the gig is over. A "must see" venue when in London.
M. M.
Jazz Cafe always been the best music venues in London. Never disappoints.
T. C.
Our first time the Jazz Cafe:
Fun venue with different acts each week which makes sense as the jazz club is diversified on what it brings to the floor.
An alternative to Ronnie Scotts in a way for those who seek different genre of music.
P. S.
Had a really good night last night with my friend for the Frankie Knuckles Tribute and then the dj afterwards. The staff were all very polite and helpful and i jjust want to mention Monique behind the bar who was really professiinal and friendly, usually you have to wait ages to get a drink but she made the night even better.
F. M.
Best live music venue in London
K. A.
This place is a WHOLE vibe. Brilliant space for artists to perform. Is an intimate space for those wanting to watch live music too. The upstairs space is brilliant, the food was nice and the service was also top notch. Would deffo recommend.
c.
What a fantastic night -lovers rock 28 dec. All artists were on point. Nice vibe, professional, firing. Thanks jazz cafe and all.
H. O.
Really great venue. Nice friendly security reasonably priced drinks and with a good array of selection too. Live music here is second to none and would not hesitate coming back. Good job
D. G.
I had a good night out. It was fun and very entertaining.
M. S.
Great venue for live music, went with friends and had a blast !!!
H. V.
We went on a Saturday night to the Soul city. Well the crowd is predominantly young.. Like in their 20s early 30s. They looked like they were at uni.. Trendy, laid back and out on the lash. A very few (incudes) myself was in their 40s, maybe about 15, who left early. Never the less we manged to fit in and really enjoy the music which was fabulous!!!.. Disco, Soul and house merged very cleverly together. I danced till my feet were tender. Everyone is relaxed, mostly drunk.. Lol.. Very non judgemental place for all sex orientation, colours etc
Everyone mixes well and very friendly. Best to dress down and wear trainers etc to get your groove on!.. We're going back but this time in jeans and trainers!! Brilliant night out. Beers about £5 a pint. Toilets nicely decorated and clean. You will get some annoying drunk people there but if you can overlook it you'll have a great time!!. Tickets in advance or at the door for more. ❤️

Lauryn Hill night

A. A. J.
Great venue, perfect size, good sound system. Very friendly door and bar staff.
Hadn't been here for several years andi was very impressed. Highly recommend.
A. C.
One of the best and most iconic venues in London. It's intimate enough to make a gig feel special but also big enough that you can feel like you are in a crowd. The sound is excellent and the atmosphere vibrant. There is dining and a cocktail bar upstairs and two bars downstairs serving a mice selection of drinks. I highly recommend this place!
V. G.
What a fantastic night out, venue was lovely as always, music/artists were brilliant. Can't wait to see Luciano on 17th January
J. C.
First live music in ages....happy crowd, great venue
C. B.
Love this venue. The refit a few years ago has improved the place too. Lost a star due to the security outside at the end of my last visit shouting at us to move impolitely while we were stood on the pavement (public space). They then almost took us out with the railing as they were putting it away. If my friend hadn't ducked he would have been hit in the head. Otherwise everything else was decent.
R. R.
Been here a few times got more tickets booked in for next 6 months. Affordable and dj pre post sets not bad at all... a well known venue big but cosy enough for vet funk US acts to play to very mixed crowds, people jamming and good behaviour and attitudes from all staff.
Doubles served without asking as default here also so ask first.. but overall decent pricing and well run venue..
C. M.
Friendly staff, great food. Super live music venue. Dance the night away.
P. M.
A nice, small and intimate, venue with a nice bar downstairs and tables upstairs, perfectly suited to jazz and funk performances.
C.
Great place..! Great doorway staff..! Great restaurant food..!
Never been to a bad gig here. Always a good night.
Side note: I think they should get those that can't handle their drinks to leave the event instead of them ruining the experience for others.
S. R.
Had an awesome night out here seeing Katy Pearson. The food was great and our waitress was super upbeat, friendly, and helpful.
D. D. (. H. C.
What a great venue for dinner and dancing. The food was lovely and the music was outstanding as we had tickets to see Heatwave.
It's always a pleasure going to the Jazz Cafe.
M. B. W.
Lovely intimate venue with good food. Brilliant view of the stage from most of the tables in the upstairs restaurant. Definitely worth a visit
R. M.
Venue is hugely improved since last been. Was in need of a renovation.
Always great live gigs here, intimate venue and a great sound system.
Two bars on either side of venue and an upstairs private area for dinning. Haven't eaten here but sure would be a great way to enjoy a meal.
B. M.
Great venue. Fantastic music.
P. K.
One of my favourite places to go, great food, great atmosphere and a wonderful intimate place to see your favourite artists.
T. F.
I always love when I go to this place.
I've seen so many concerts there. Very good, highly recommended
R. R.
A very friendly place to visit. Staff outstanding and friendly. Not much seating available, only draw back.
M.
The placed opened on time. Cosy venue. First time here and I was impressed. Saw Sauti Soul play for a couple of hours.
The staff were nice and beers were reasonably priced. Spirits were very expensive. Toilets were clean.
There’s an upstairs but I didn’t get to go as it was was vip on the night I went.
A. T.
A legendary venue , great atmosphere saw the great Mica Paris .
D. W.
We had a fantastic evening enjoying the live performance of Leroy Burgess. As always at the the JC, the acoustics were excellent, and a special thank you to Civa who looked after us all evening and went above and beyond to make our night special and memorable.
E.
Lovely venue. Went there to see Benedict Cork.
Food was amazing as is the location, just a short walk from the station.
S. P.
Great venue. Drinks are a bit pricey but then the admission price was less than I'd expected so it evens out.
G. S.
Amazing venue. Terrific sound. Expertly handling social distancing. Such a good and safe live music experience. All table service and our server was super helpful, fast and attentive. Couldn't have enjoyed more.
G. L.
Really good atmosphere. You need to book seats if you want to eat. Show was 2 hours late though. Suggest you grab food else where.
D. A. S.
Great intimate venue showing awesome live acts.
M. G.
This is still one of the best live music venues in London, one of the few live venues where you can get up and close to the artistes and really feel there vide, Howard Hewett was brilliant looking forward to Jarrod Lawson, my only slight complaint is the price of drinks is a little expensive 😔
D. C.
Carroll Thompson concert was brill. Jazz cafe is a stylish venue. Look forward to the next reggae event in January!
A. C. F.
Good club & pub. They normally do jazz in-live events.
Beet pint at 6-7£.
2£ wardrobe
A. P.
Such a fantastic venue but the food leaves a lot to be desired
A. C. C.
I went to see Miguel Araujo, a Portuguese singer, and I loved the show. Staff was very nice and efficient. Cocktails and food were good but expensive, especially considering that we payed a separate ticket for the show. The only downside was that some people would keep talking during the performances, and this is very distracting. They should look up the meaning of "STFU" on the back of the menus.
C. B.
Fantastic gig - great soul music
D. “. D. D.
Brilliant night with Ivan Lins including wonderful waitresses who, with huge respect & incredible attentiveness, looked after an old man who was eating on his own in the part of the restaurant facing the middle of the stage, including providing him (ie me!) with free cigarettes from their own supply to smoke outside the venue after I had run out. Truly excellent. (Late review having just returned to the UK from Krung Thep (Bangkok) from where I returned for 1 night solely to see this Ivan Lins gig & to meet the band again after my attendance at their earlier excellent gig at Ronnie Scott's the previous year).
M. J.
Went to see Howard Hewett with my cousin.
He's an amazing singer and it was a good night out (7/9/2021)😊.
To the very tall man standing in front of us blocking the view, be more considerate and check who's behind you.
S. N.
Amazing night out. I would recommend you go for any reason you can think of. Great food. Amazing staff. Fantastic entertainment !
M. C.
Great intimate venue, very friendly and attentive bar staff, great music.
I had a thoroughly great evening.
I sat downstairs which was drinks and bar snacks (almonds/olives) only, but will try having a meal next time, although noticed that not all seats upstairs have a good view of the stage area.
M. S.
Great venue, drinks are typical London prices but not stupidly high. I really loved the intimacy of the venue and would go back
D. M.
Fab venue - cool but not pretentious - nice staff - and an amazing band last night - Odyssey were unbelievable!!!
R. A.
I went to see a Karsh kale event with dinner at table 7. The food was simply spectacular. I've eaten at so many restaurants in London but I have not had this level of service where the waitresses genuinely care about what you feel about the food and they are all lovely and well-chosen by management.
It's a rare place where you see staff genuinely happy for the love of the music and food itself. My guest had ribeye and that looks amazing I had tuna and it was slightly seared on the outside but lovely and soft and tender inside in the true tataki way. Just wasn't expecting this... Then we went downstairs to the club and all the people in the club again were very friendly and there was no hostility in the club it was just a really chilled atmosphere.
I had a few drinks at the bar came back for another round and surprisingly the waitresses at the bar remembered my first round and said "same again"... Now in a club that is so unusual as I'm sure you'll agree. so yes I highly recommend this place and I hope you have a great night here as I did.
G. B.
Brilliant place. Great food, drink and the music !!
M. M.
Beautiful live music venue with polite and welcoming staff. My husband and I travelled down from Sheffield to see Me And That Man for their first live show and enjoyed every minute of it.
Drinks prices are extortionate, but then again everything in London is massively overpriced.
Overall a fantastic venue and great live experience!
B. T.
I love this place. They always bring good musicians. And the stage is big enough. There are two bars in opposite sides, so easy access to drink, there is also cloakroom downstairs. The tickets are reasonable £10+. Staff is friendly and helpful. Strongly recommended
s.
One of my favourite spots in London, have seen some bands here from Nicola Conte bossa nova jazz to Zero7 and few others. I'd recommend booking a table at the restaurant and enjoy the show.
M. F.
Nice venue. The music on Saturdays is amazing
M. A.
Went for The Yoruba women's Choir. Brilliant show. Spent the whole performance dancing.
A. L.
Ate in the restaurant on Saturday night. Really good food, top notch service really enjoyed it. Thoroughly recommend.
J. H.
Wonderful night best I've had in 3yrs
o. b.
Always a pleasure at the Jazz Cafe. Went last night for an intimate gig with Verb T & illinformed, had the best time. Great to be back, and what a lovely place to be back. Drinks were great, table service was great, tip top all round!
L. S.
Lovely place, food is really good
D. C.
Jazz cafe is the idea spot for lovers of variety of life performance. It's a bit of a quirky venue but great vibe in general. The drinks are reasonably priced. Staff are friendly too. There are various arts performing every week. Check their website for list.
M. W.
What fab place, everyone was kind and generous. The wine and beer a good price. The toilets were great. A good night dancing to Mr Derick.....thank you Jazz Cafe.
I. “. L.
What an amazing night I had there. Nice venue and the customer service is exceptionally great
I. R.
Great venue for small gigs. It's got two floors - I'd recommend the upper floor, where the restaurant is as the views are great and you've got plenty of space. Go for any of the tables on the first row. The ones on the second row are also fine but the view is a bit worse. Good comfort food and wine selection
M. Z.
If there is anything you know about Camden famous Jazz Cafe is that it's a go to venue for, well, music, of course, particularly jazz.
What you might hit know is that is has fabulous food.
Great 1920's decor that transports you to the dawn of previous century. Food and drink are pretty awesome too, all in all a win win visit. We had a bottle if Merlot with couple of starters if crispy chilli squid and jerk chicken wings. All top notch. We filled the void with the help of a bone marrow beef burger.
We went in a Friday night, having had tickets for a concert and we're lucky enough to get a bar table with a side view of the band. But if you don't book a ticket, you need to pay at the door. So tickets are essential, but worth pursuing for an evening with great atmosphere. Next time we will definitely book the restaurant table in advance! We will be back! So go on #eat like a local.
G. L.
Absolutely brilliant atmosphere, just the right number of people so its not too full, attentive staff, door staff friendly, not intimidating. Highly recommended.
N. P.
Great space for events in London iconic live music venue a stone throws away from Camden Station... After its renovation, I personally fell that this spot has been given a new lease of life. However, the sound here fir me is still not up to scratch for a purpose built live music space. So this takes away from the quality of sound whilst trying to enjoy the live side of any performance.. However, there is still a vibe and the sound is decent enough to enjoy.
I. Q.
If you're a Londoner, you know this place. If you aren't then, well, go to Ronnie Scott's first. It's the Mecca of jazz.
Having said that, the Jazz Cafe hosts some epic artists. The music is why you are here, right? Seriously, only come for the music.
Food is average, sound could better but the crowd and the gigs make it spectacular.
L. M.
It was good but they don’t let you re-enter. The place starts to fill up around 2030 so don’t make the mistake of going too early and hanging around for hours before the music starts at 2130
L. W.
Love it, best event in a while. I danced and today I can't feel my feet.... Amazing night 🌙
N. M.
Abbey Road whole album cover a cople of nights ago for 50th anniv of release. Amazing! Excellent venue. Love that the floor is completely open and that tables are above and tiered for better visibility if you care to pay the extra and have dinner.
A. G.
We had the best night, great food, amazing performances, stunning venue and friendly staff. Thank you!
M. A.
This place is a legend in it's own right. Everything about it is great. The vibe the sound quality...pure brilliance.
S. W.
One of the best music venues I London juat got even better since the revamp.
D. N.
Nice venue but disappointed with the restaurant. The food wasn't very good. Padron peppers were under cooked. And we waited an hour for our mains! My main gumbo was lacking okra. I didn't mention it to the staff cos I didn't want to wait another hour for my food. They took the dessert off our bill for the lateness. I couldn't believe they still charge us for the service.
M.
We were here for Errol Linton's concert.
It was AMAZING 👏👏👏👏
Highly recommended
D. R.
Great atmosphere, and the food was excellent. Service was second to none. Had the Ox cheek starter and Beef marrow bone burger as a main. Would definitely dine there again. Great vegetarian options also
E. D.
Been going here for years great venue to see a band has had a refit which had made it even better.
K. C.
What a great time for the Afrobeats live!
R. K.
I saw Keyon Harrold (supported by Camilla George Quartet) at The Jazz Cafe, as well as Yazz Ahmed the week prior. The lighting and viewing arrangement contributed to an intimate atmosphere which lent well to the passionate music being played at the club. The convenient upstairs seating for dining I imagine also give a great holistic view of all of the performers. Tickets are very reasonably priced for London, and the bar is well priced also. Overall a great place to experience some thoroughly entertaining music, given that the right performer can command the stage.
H. M.
Great venue and great 🌃 to be had when at the Jazz Cafe...Don't know why it took me so long to come here but now that I have sure is one of my top fav places to chill out at in London!!
S. D.
Solid bookings, friendly staff, nice venue, interesting layout. If you feel a bit cramped on the main dance floor, the upstairs mezzanine offers a good view of the action and a bit more breathing room.
G. C.
Great, intimate venue in a hip area of London with brilliant music and great food.
S. G.
Super venue with the appropriate covid measures in place. Staff provided a first class service. Food was really good value and views of the stage were also of a high quality.
D. E. N.
Amazing experience. Must go for the ones who enjoy pure music.
K. B.
Had a beautiful night here! Fair priced drinks & pretty décor too!
O. G.
Thought our seated table was upstairs, however it turned out to be downstairs..... first come first served. Staff apologised for any inconvenience, gave us some complimentary snacks (olives) Great night, staff really attentive, knowledgeable regarding cocktails, good customer service, looking forward to a further visit in the not too distant future.
f. d.
Very nice live music! Except they where chairs and tables only for the ones who reserved on the 1st floor it was great!
P. R.
Had a fantastic evening there, was taken along by friends for supper and more importantly to see Errol Linton. What a performance, great meal ,great service, and a great view from the balcony table. I couldn't fault anything will the food or the service and most impo8I saw a superb performance. Truly 5 Star. 💋
D. L.
A wonderful place that brings together people who’ve longed for live music since the pandemic began.
I came here with my friends for a night of live flamenco — it was unforgettable and truly mesmerising!
R. J.
Great venue with disco-like vibes and usually hosting very cool artists. They didn't have draft beer when I was there which was a bummer. Cloak room is downstairs at the end of a tiny hall which can cause jams. But upstairs the vibe is awesome.
P. J. P.
One of my favourite venues in London. A gem.
J. M.
Brilliant venue and the music was incredible. My new favourite spot in London.
T.
Intimate venue you'll be close to the stage from most places. Staff have a great attitude from door to restaurant waiters. If you get a table it's a good veiw of stage. Food okayish. Being a vegetarian it's not great. Only one starter and main to choose from and because food is pre made it's hard to modify.
K. G.
A great venue. Not too big, which means you can get close enough to the performers to feel really involved. Restaurant does a nice steak too!
V. D.
Lovely venue with covid-safe measures in place. Good food too.
J. G.
Intimate venue but drinks are a bit pricey. They don't do cocktails and had very low stock.
D. G.
Jazz Cafe is an amazing venue with amazing gigs. Totally recommend.
j. t.
Absolutely loved this place. Went to see Omar. Great night, amazing atmosphere and great bar staff. What more could you ask for!
T. S.
Great location, lots of good eating places nearby. Brilliant atmosphere, informal and welcoming. Definitely going there again!
G. M.
Great live venue, excellent food and service
G. H.
This new ", going out" lark is very pleasant isn't it. Jazz Cafe is a smallish, or at any rate, intimate venue where music of many genres can be heard while having a meal and a drink in comfortable surroundings. We ate, upstairs in the gallery, at a table literally above the stage; the food was good, hot, well cooked and I imagine even well presented on the plate. I couldn't be sure of this because it was so dark, that I had trouble finding my delicious vegan burger, even with my fork. The service was the stand-out feature, always polite, friendly and helpful, never intrusive. I felt like my having a good time was genuinely important to everyone I came into contact with, including the 2 members of staff who were on hand outside, helping with the covid check-in on the NHS app. I really hope on my next visit I'll be lucky enough to have the same waitress- Nancy you were brilliant!
Yes it's pricey, well for my pocket, though it's probably normal for London, but go on, treat yourself and enjoy a great evening of quality music.
T. S.
Great venue. Very atmospheric. Good good as well, and superb acoustics. Whatever is playing, a good time can be enjoyed by all.
a. w.
Great atmosphere, lovely jazz funk band and amazing performance. Venue is a bit small but that's how they kept the vibe.
J. V.
Incredible venue. Dealt with social distancing very well and made me and my partner feel extremely welcome and comfortable.
S. A.
Very nice place, near Camden town station
Camden vibe
Lovely location
Very well organised for the event
Affordable price for drinks and entry fees
We went for Elisa concert last Sunday and it was lovely and well organised
M.
Great vibe, although busy bar staff were efficient and fast, drinks reasonably priced, we went on a Saurday night, dress funky and be prepared to get your grove on!
D. W.
Decent venue, ridiculous prices for shorts. Paid £14.50 for a double and coke, first and last drink of the night.
P. P.
Great live music venue, superb friendly staff, great waiting service and really reasonably priced menu. All in all fabulous evening had by all. Fantastic band (Pb underground) check them out!!
M. L.
A good sized venue with a Art Deco feel and great ambience. Now two bars so improvement from previously. May depend on group but volume was just right, a lot of smoke generated again to give it a den feel. They have a cloakroom.
M. (.
Visited for a concert recently. Excellent venue, nice and cosy, able to see stage frrom everywhere, drinks were pricey though
I. Y.
Great for live music, but the bar is a let down.
Not much choice for beer, and having to argue to get ice in a glass of water.
F. R.
Very nice place, very civilised. No nonsense. So had a great time.
J. M. F.
Yeah just what we needed! Buzzing welcome to the band, great rhythm, vibe, in such a perfect atmosphere. Add in the food and drink with such attentive delightful staff and you're in Jazz heaven!
A. T.
Great venue. Two bars downstairs, so you're hardly waiting to be served. Nice seating upstairs with a majority of the tables providing a view of the stage and dancefloor.
J. A.
Been here for an Italian Singer concert....small intimate pub...very nice...good sound..but bad organisation...
N. F.
Great venue. Have been a number of times, never disappoints. The restaurant seating is fine, food good, but limited selection.
r. d.
A great place to go and see a specific band or artiste, Billy Cobham in my case. Really good sound, even from my location at the side. A cool crowd and the door staff were friendly. Go go go, but with the following caveats:
>>> Don't plan on eating or drinking here. By all means get a bottle off lager, but it's over £5 for a crappy plastic bottle of it, and the bar is understaffed so be patient.
>>> Eat next door and the relatively cheap and cheerful Thai street food place.
>>> Going with anyone remotely young looking? Make sure they have photo ID.
With the above provisos it's fine.
T.
Great music venue and amazing house DJ, mixing vinyls before gigs, make sure you have Shazam downloaded because you're going to want to hear those tunes again. Also get the citrus IPA at the bar, lovely beer 👌
K. D. F.
Super music venue but sometimes the ambient audience noise spoils it. People need to shut up and listen to the band. 😉😘
S. B.
Great place to hang out, I couldn't take my drink outside, so I left it inside, when I came back in my drink was gone, but they replaced it no problem.
L. P.
Love this place it's like being in your living room. Professional door staff very polite and welcoming
A. M.
Lovely venue with nice music and atmosphere. However, we queued up for 20-25 minutes to be able to get in.. which was frustrating.
g.
Been there several times. Great atmosphere and good crowd. Last week had a meal and watched Alexander O'Neal from the gallery.
L. R.
First out out night. We haven't stopped talking about the brilliant on point service and amazing food. Omar and all band were outstanding. Thanks for such a great night.
S. C.
Everything about our night was 5 star. Massively exceeded expectations. Great food, impeccable service, wine list, etc etc. Band wasn't half bad either ;)
A. M.
An absolutely amazing place. 1. The stuff is some of the friendliest people I met. 2. Great food. 3. Price wise a little above average but totally worth it!
C. G.
Haven’t been here for a while but went to see Garnet Silk Jnr, a reggae artist. My only complaint is the DJ who’s job it is to warm the crowd up before the artist hits the stage. I didn’t hear ONE reggae song prior to the first artist or during the interval. And after Garnet’s performance the DJ squeezed out two reggae tunes. Surely it would make sense to play the genre of music relevant to the performing artist...... it’s just an observation ..... I rate 5 stars 🌟 for Garnet Silk Jnr. The security staff were excellent and I loved that they have umbrellas for customers waiting in the queue
P. S.
Excellent venue. Nice staff, efficiently run bar and great atmosphere
C. J.
Cosy jazz venue right near Camden Town tube station. With two bars on the ground floor and a restaurant on the upper floor overlooking the stage. A great place to go and see your jazz favourites for an intimate gig!
C. C.
Was great! Missed 1/2 of show as wasn't clear what time the show started. Which was a shame, but still had a fun time. Defo will go again.
X. K.
An institution still going strong, great ambience. Shame no more dancing (even at the table) during the pandemic :(
D. P.
Just love the ambiance and food in this terrific venue
N. B.
Nice and friendly service, but incomplete website. Not information about how many concert and when will begin.
They give us information just opening time.
The concert was amazing,thank you,but .....
C. D.
Always been a big fan of the jazzer. Refurb is really nice and makes it easier to see in the venue. Great feel. Beware of expensive drinks but that is to be expected with a jazz club
S. E.
Amazing venue, one of the best live music venues around
S. A. c.
Always have a great time here...brilliant staff makes the difference
K. M.
I was here to see Conrad Ellis, Where and when will he be performing next do you guys know ? This was my first night out again after covid reduced restrictions and it was handled wonderfully.
I. K.
Acoustic's we're great but there was damp smell in the cafe
V. S.
Great venue for live music friendly atmosphere, helpful staff.
I never fail to have a great night here.
C. K.
Nice bar,a bit overcrowded that is turning it out to be like a club with live music. The music was not exactly jazz..it was a mix of other kinds as well but I can’t tell if that was just the style of the band playing that specific day.I was between 3-4 stars,I definitely have a different idea about jazz bars and music.
A. S. T.
The concert I've been to was great, nice just refurnished jazz venue. People slightly too noisy during the concert.
R. C.
Love this venue, small and intimate. Attended a reggae night (on a Monday) and it was a busy diverse crowd of people, all ages and backgrounds. This is why the Jazz Cafe is a favourite. Would be good to add more seating area though, especially in the quieter area nearest the bar where it remained a standing area rather than a dancing area. Fabulous nights here.
A. P.
Always have the best time here. The artist was top notch.
C. S.
Fantastic small venue perfect for those that prefer an intimate gig environment.
Well stocked bar staffed with real bartenders who know what they're selling. The balcony restaurant is a nice touch too, but you can't beat dead centre in front of the sound stage to experience the awesome sound system.
Great night out 5/5
J. C.
Fantastic venue with a great atmosphere, you can get some close to the artists which makes for a very intimate feel, would recommend to anyone (I went to see an AMP of Octavian)
A. D.
One of my favourite spots in London. Always a great vibe and atmosphere.
R. W.
Had amazing Freedom Day evening, dancing to Motown, played by incredible band. Great vibe! Thank you for fantastic evening!
P. T.
The Jazz Cafe has really upped its game. Staff in the restaurant are excellent and food is great. Sound system is really good. Top venue.
J. T.
Great atmosphere and a great vibe. Plenty of space to move around although this could vary depending on the special guests but above all and we recieved a great service!
S. T.
Great acoustics and lighting. Excellent and efficient bar staff. Wonderful ambiance! A must visit for locals and tourists
E. D.
Epic concert, here's hoping Jazz Cafe books me to photograph more live gigs 🎺📸
K. O.
It's a good place to go and eat and watch a show.....Tonight I went to the Jazz Cafe to see reggae artist Christopher Ellis what a wicked show.....
A. R.
I played there at a couple of parties. Cool venue
g. w.
Always a great place to see live music
E. V.
Fantastic atmosphere with great gigs, one of my favorite houses in London!
M. F.
Had an amazing time here for Annie Mac Presents - Jessie Ware. Service and food were fantastic and the music was great. We'll definitely be returning.
K. W.
Fantastic place! Friendly waiters, good draught beer and great music. I will definitely visit Jazz Cafe again.
W. A.
Great venue for all jazz lover. Went there a couple of times now to see Dele sosimi and his bands and it was terrific.
G. B.
Great venue with relatively reasonably priced drinks. Amazing atmosphere with up and coming and more established acts performing. Haven’t tried the upstairs dining but I think with the right acts that could be really nice. Friendly people and staff. Definitely somewhere you can come back many times
P. D.
Great venue, great drinks!
J. L.
Brilliant music, food and lovely friendly service!!
I. A.
Located in Camden Town with upstairs seating and food area , downstairs in front of the stage
Normally downstairs no seating, but last visit there were seating table because of Coronavairus limiting space regulations and it was the best visit ever
Hope they keep the service like this foreword
H. A.
Amazing venue the staff are very good at what they do ..
N. H.
Amazing food fantastic service.was in London for the weekend and the jazz cafe experience was the highlight off the weekend.would highly recommend a evening at this amazing venue.
A. R.
Great vibe and good music. Would recommend.
S. J.
Awesome Venue for live acts to perform.
E. R.
The security staff were friendly and helpful. We were told in the queue about a 'no food' rule and they kindly held a gift box of fudge in their coat room. Toilets are in a labyrinth downstairs! The venue doesn't seem wheelchair accessible. The bar staff were great. Cranberry juice is on tap (a feature which isn't always available at bars). Good selection of drinks and reasonable prices for London. Good location near Camden Town station. We went to see Anavitória perform. The venue was intimate.
P. W.
I have been going to the Jazz Cafe for over 25 years now and was an absolute joy to see Kelly Finnigan there last night.
The new layout is superb as is the sound quality. I was very impressed with the staff. From the door staff, to a very funny cloakroom lady, also a great Italian bar man.
Well done Blues Kitchen on what you've done with this iconic venue.
P. F.
Great venue to see good music up close. Friendly atmosphere and now the toilets aren't something to be feared.
Small issues. Main act starts after 9 and has to stop by 10:30. Even though doors open at 7:30.
A lot of the crowd at the gigs I've been to appear to use the bands as a backdrop to their socialising.
Haven't tried the balcony restaurant but the diner's again appear to find the performances a distraction. But the chatter is really only audible during quieter sections.
B. L.
Great venue.will be heading back soon
J. B.
Live Music, Great Food & Cocktails - All with a view!
I'd been to the jazz cafe before and always had a really good time and thought perhaps it would be a good place to take the missus on date night. In hindsight there should have been no 'perhaps' about it.... The booking was easy, the service on arrival and throughout was without fault and the menu and quality of the food was great! It still retained some intimacy whilst having the perfect vantage point to view the act. Couldn't recommend this enough!
T. S.
Saw Emancipator here. Was so good! Great intimate venue.
G. W.
Love this place, as its small enough to experience the bands in more intimate way compared to the larger venues. My only complaint is that there are so few seats available and all of those are upstairs where you have to eat. It can alsobbe difficult to book these. Having said that, the staff were great & very attentive and the food was good and the band was excellent.
C. H.
Good music/staff/food/drinks. Stays open till 3 am on weekends
H. X.
Excellent night, great venue.
O. B.
Good selection of artists, great to be in a venue that brings together a mix of people of different cultures and ages both young and mature enjoying music together and having a great time.
S. W.
Great venue. Good service at the bar. Great atmosphere
A. J.
The best place to see live music in London.
C. S.
Good place for music and Dance. I like the convenient coat check seat placement
T. G.
Cool venue, much bigger than I expected
P. H.
Excellent venue, quite small. Book a table upstairs for a bit of space and a great view of the stage.
I. M.
I went for a concert and the organisation was very good, the space is very nice and cozy. However, it said the concert would start at 7pm but actually started at 9.15pm so they had another band before at 8pm but it wasn't advertised. We could have gone for a bite before the concert instead.
C. B.
We loved celebrating my birthday last week, and enjoyed the stunning Frank Sinatra tribute.
S. R.
Really great intimate venue. First trip and hopefully not the last. Single level standing only floor, balcony with tables and food service. Couple of bar areas with good service. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing Tom Browne perform here.
P. B.
Absolutely fantastic and love the fact you can sit down also
D. L. V. E.
Good place to watching concerts!!! Stand up zone or seated.
M. H.
It's a really good place where you can enjoy a live music. Have a look on the website and you can find a huge calendar with a lot of different artists that goes there to play their music. The space is not so big but it's really cosy and you're the option to enjoy the place sitting or standing.
N. N.
Really cosy venue, great atmosphere and the views from the upstairs restaurant are excellent! Ps African Head Charge are superb live 👍🏾
L. C.
Beautiful intimate concert place with impeccable sound. Loved it!
S. M. -. L.
The jazz cafe is always a great night out. Amazing for a mid week night out with a reasonable bed time and the disco after parties are great at the weekend. I love having dinner and a show but there is no bad place to stand when I only go for a gig. Love it
L. k.
Great show and friendly staff!
C. K.
WOW! Brilliant venue to hear the world's finest musicians!
B. (.
The Jazz Café is a brilliant venue and a great place to see live music. Small, intimate and cool.
I saw reggae legend Johnny Osbourne there recently and had a fantastic night.
The bars are staffed very efficiently and it was a pleasure to not have to wait 15 minutes politely waving a tenner around whilst gasping for a drink. 5 big stars to the friendly attentive bar staff!
I didn't eat there - Personally I can't really dig the marriage of live music and sitting down to eat (which strikes me as something of a middle-class bucket list reject)... but each to their own! Thankfully the food bit is safely confined to the balcony area so you can easily ignore it.
Security are cool and the atmosphere is chilled. It's also one of the nicest smelling clubs I've been to (which I realise is an odd thing to notice but for some reason I did!).
If a live act comes to the Jazz Café that you are interested in seeing is announced and you haven't been before don't hesitate to get yourself a ticket - have yourself a bit of grub too if you like... I won't hold it against you! 😁
J. C. L.
saw Lee "Scratch" Perry at this lovely intimate music club in the heart of Camden.
M. G.
Great venue with friendly staff. Food ok.
M. C.
Small but well organised venue. Offering a lot. Of gigs. Bar inside is definitely too expensive considering that you already bought a ticket + staff is not around = often drunk and aggressive people are not asked to calm down which makes the gig not as good experience as it should be
K. L.
Great, intimate venue with very good acoustics. Manager and bar staff were very friendly and really added to our time there. We had standing tickets only, but they took into consideration my husbands disability and facilitated seating for us. Great customer service goes a long way and the staff definitely have it!
L. B.
Great venue and a wonderful atmosphere
P.
An iconic London venue with the prestige to match. This place really does stand out among the crowd when it comes to gigs. It's an intimate venue with a great set up and acoustic. I've seen some amazing hip hop artists here and feel like I've seen history in the making. Other than that, I would highly recommend the upstairs balcony seats for food whilst a gig is on. You get a great view, amazing food and don't need to fight through the crowds to get a drink (table service). The staff are lovely.
m. m.
Went to a gig , artist very good. Nice venue with good sound system. We had restaurant tickets for upstairs, food is ok, for the price could be a lot better, creamed spinach is more like soup and a big thick skin on top from the microwave! Pushy waitress with drinks and our food order, kept topping up the wine glass without asking. Drinks are extortionate prices and cocktails are not very good! Go for a gig , get standing tickets for downstairs and go somewhere else to eat
r. b.
One of my preferred music venues in London. The sound quality is good, it's always a comfortable temperature, the shape of the dance floor allows everyone to get a view, they sell decent beer and wine and the staff are friendly. If you're lucky enough to get a table upstairs then you're in for a treat when it comes to the food, though it's quite expensive. Though the staff are attentive, be careful as some are a little pushy: regular wines we ordered ended up being large. What's great is that this venue suits all types of music from dub to ambient, jazz to rock. It's really close to the tube station too.
K.
Love this place! Live music, good food, dancing and affordable
E. W. R.
Been many times before. First time I've eaten though. Food was excellent. Band was excellent (as expected) and the staff couldn't have done more to help. Kindly provided an extra chair for my friend who was not well enough to stand for the performance.
F. D.
Fantastic venue. Superb atmosphere and it's nice and small so provides an intimate gig. Fantastic acoustics and reasonable drink prices. One other nice touch is the toilets have speakers which are playing what's happening on the stage, so you dont miss out.
S. ش.
Fabulous place and great food before a show! If u can get balcony seating, u also have great view of the stage. I was 6 months pregnant so felt better to be away from the crowd but still got to soak in the atmosphere. Food was delicious and filled me up!
D. B.
The venue and staff was polite and professional.
M. M.
The venue is perfect. Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff, it is my new favourite venue for gigs in London - I just wish everyone I liked played here. The dining upstairs works, oddly, I didn't expect it to gel with a gig, but it does very well. The food is really great and reasonable too, and you get your table for the whole evening. I really can't fault it at all. I'm so glad I discovered this place.
J. T.
Always a superb music venue . Camden is a great place to grab a pre gig beer. The Jazz Cafe is well situated near to the underground. Staff are really friendly and entry into the premises is smooth and efficient . There is a downstairs cloakroom which again is well run . It quickly heats up in there so park your coats there. Book well in advance as bands featured are popular.you can sit at the first floor restaurant tables to watch the acts. The real action is standing amongst the crowd downstairs . You are pretty close to the stage but this is the place to be if you want to soak up the whole gigging vibe. The jazz cafe is fairly small and intimate and this is the secret to their success . Amongst the top venues in the capital
N. O.
Jazzy...live music always on point!! And the staff are so attentive! Love the place.
M. W.
Lovely place, not too big but at least you can feel the emotion from music stronger and be closer to artist.
S. D.
Back to see Nearly Dan, fourth date for this gig over 18 months. Awesome as always!
J. V. B.
A fabulous and fun evening watching Leee John and his talented band
C. C.
The Jazz Cafe was a lovely intimate venue (not so big you would get lost in it). We had a restaurant table which gave us a good view of the stage. The food was very good - can highly recommend the roast cod. Staff were very attentive and polite. Will be returning.
M.
Excellent venue, with a restaurant upstairs and a standing area and stage downstairs, however the upstairs seating area looks down onto the stage, so you could have a meal while enjoying some soothing music. We however stood up downstairs and had a excellent time quaking at the fancy people upstairs and the general vibe of the place. Would recommend to everyone, and i cant wait to return.
O. D.
Very cool venue! Great sound! Friendly staff
K. N.
Visited the Jazz Cafe for a Hugo TSR hip hop gig at the weekend and can safely say that it was one of the best live experiences I have ever had! Reserved a table with dinner on the balcony and we were so close to the act that it felt as though we could touch them. Acoustics were very good and the whole place has a very intimate vibe. We ordered a selection of starters to share instead of mains and he food was interesting, fairly priced and of a very good standard. The cocktails were amazing! The table service was extremely attentive from beginning to end, we never had an empty glass :) Highly recommend this place!
R. S.
Came here to watch Jenni and the Mexicats and as this was the first time at the menu I didn't know what to expect. I'll have to say the whole experience was great. What's nice about this place is that you can have dinner on the first floor restaurant which overlooks the stage. The food and cocktails were really good. The service was excellent (hell even the bouncers were very cordial). Everyone really seemed genuine and attentive which added to the overall pleasant vibe as front of house felt like it was firing on all cylinders just like the band I was watching. This is definitely will be my go to. If you need an intimate date night win, this is it.
If I had to make a criticism it would be that maybe flying a couple of speakers pointed to the dining area would've helped with projecting more treble. Just a very minor thing as the sound quality was still good (I just tend to pick up on such things)
D. A.
Lovely little gem in one of London's most renowned neighbourhoods. The Jazz Café is a music venue unlike most of its surrounding ones in Camden. Tickets were £10 at the door, which is reasonable for a night of live music on a Saturday. There were breaks, of course, but the DJ filling the gaps between live sets was brilliant! It was a really refreshing experience, with none of the trashy music that you might hear in a club. I highly recommend Saturday's 'Night Thing' to anyone in the mood for disco, soul and funk for a change. Single mixers cost just under £6, but the venue itself is guaranteed to make a good impression. The staff were generally friendly, and there was plenty of room for people to dance or just lay back and enjoy the music. The decor was simple, but beautiful, and the atmosphere welcoming. Keep in mind that tables are reserved for bookings only, so do plan your visit ahead if you'd prefer to sit down for this. I'm knocking off a star because the staff failed to mention that the band would be taking a break from 1 to 2 am when we arrived at 1, but again, the DJ was great, so that wasn't much of an issue. The live show carried on until was closing time (3 am).
M. W.
Very friendly staff, good range of drinks which are reasonably priced for London. The food options are good and freshly prepared for you. Recently had a refit and looks nice. Good sound system and always has a variety of artists playing. Well worth a visit.
P. H.
Very pleasant venue, good interment space for getting close to performing acts, we didn't eat, but there was a restaurant located upstairs overlooking the stage which is a nice touch. Facilities were all in good condition and well kept throughout the night. Bar prices were reasonable
L. A.
Excellent venue to see your favourite bands up close. Alexandra O’Neill, Gibson Brothers, the house band
J. A.
Been a few years since ive been here and it has been improved a lot. Was here on a Wednesday to see The Allergies Room layout is much better, great friendly staff and unlike most music venues in London the toilets were very clean and tidy. Highly recommend. Only reason I haven't scored a 5 is because this was midweek and at weekends things may not be as smooth. I may of course be wrong
A. S.
Great music, great atmosphere and a nice selection of food and drink.
C. T.
Great music venue. I've been wanting to go for years, the venue wasnt as I imagined it to be but the night was just as brilliant as I thought it would be. We went to say Roy Davies Jr dj and it was a great night, the staff are friendly and the crowd were super friendly.
A. L.
Really worth a visit! Be warned unless you booked the restaurant upstairs there is very, very limited seating. The pictures we saw online before booking showed the tables and restaurant so we assumed this was the whole venue. We saw 'A Night of Reggae' and what a great evening it was. Most certainly worth a visit when it returns next. A whole variety of music tracks were covered. Even a non liking reggae partner enjoyed herself. Security on the doors was good. You do tend to queue down the street though. So if could out wrap up!
V. A.
Very good place. Nice jazz
G. N. (.
Lovely, homely little place. We came from Norfolk to see Heather Peace and were pleasantly surprised by how friendly the atmosphere was. A lovely night out, great sound for a small venue and really good atmosphere. Only downside was it was it was £5.60 a pint! Probably normal for London but was a shock to us from Norfolk where we usually pay around £3.60 a pint. We didn't use the eatery upstairs but assume that that would also have been pricey, looked lovely though and had it not been fully booked we'd have had dinner there.
J. D.
Wish I could go to this venue every time I go to a gig. Awesome little venue. Great bar with the best drinks selection I've ever seen at a music venue, and that wasn't a mission to get to even during an intermission!! The place looks really cool and just feels like a nice place to be.
C. D.
I go there every now and then as they have excellent taste in live music, good food upstairs and friendly staff. However the place is small and on gig nights they fill it with peeps to the brim. And if you're after and intimate performer i would avoid it. Everyone just chats all night as it's a bar as much as a venue to most. Still only Jazz Cafe brings some of the rearest of talent and for a reasonable price. Just DON'T come with tracksuit bottoms, you won't get in.
L. G.
Jazz cafe is a great venue to hear new and rising acts. The intimate, friendly atmosphere really brings the acts to life and the sound and production quality are generally very good. I've attended several acts now and always enjoyed the evening. Note that you won't get anyone on the phone until 6.30pm which can be frustrating when trying to change bookings!
N. K.
Nice place. Good acoustics. Next time I will buy a restaurant ticket instead of standing near stage.
c. n.
A very good place to socialize and listen to quality music with enchanted spectacles.
the service is wonderful both at the door with the security, with the super friendly employees of the wardrobe. But what made me feel at home is the super service in the bars, excellent bartenders!
All of them are able to help in choosing the perfect drink for the night. not to mention the great sympathy! 🤗
The concert is breathtaking, the combination of space, lights and good music made by great artists certainly stayed in my head as one of the best moments of fun of my life.
JazzCafe is the best place in London to go with friends, a very GOOD space and great service for groups, we get 2 shots for free!
worth knowing! I recommend it to everyone who wants a wonderful and guaranteed experience
J. C.
I had a fabulous time last week when I went to see Kenny Thomas! Lovely atmosphere and the staff were superb!
Nothing was too much for them, they were friendly and welcoming and made sure that we had the best service ever!
It added to the whole ambiance of the venue and I would recommend everyone to go there and have a fabulous night🥰
E. T.
Amazing shows on here, booked a dinner table to see the Roots and my god the view was amazing! I would 100% recommend having a table if you're going to see a show, it's totally worth it. All the staff were so lovely, and the cocktails were perfect. Perfect for a date night, or a Birthday, something a little bit special!
E. Q.
It was easy to get there .enjoy the music love the vibes love it love it live it.
S. N.
If you like a band and want an "intimate" venue that everyone talks about. ... then this is the place. Combine it with the ability to book a restaurant table upstairs overlooking the stage (about 10 metres away) and you could have the perfect evening. We saw The Teskey Brothers, an Aussie soul rock, well genre defying band. Great set, superb musicians and terrific staff looking after us. The food is ok but the atmosphere makes up for it.
O. S.
Very nice staff, fast service, but I didn't like the chilli crab linguine which felt like just normal Spaghetti with a very light fish broth on it.
D. A.
My Wife and I were down from Edinburgh for the weekend and we like a wee Jazz club, seen the venue on line and went along.
One of the best nights weve had, music and atmosphere were both brilliant. Till next time Jazz Cafe..
T. D.
One of the best live music venues I have been to. The venue looks amazing and the bands I have seen there have always sounded great. I highly recommend getting a table to see a show, good food and music put together perfectly.
L. I.
I'm from West coast US and was looking for something fun but laid-back to do on a Saturday night. I found this cafe online via locals' recommendations for a jazz cafe.
It was amazing. One of the best bars with amazing music. They were playing soul, jazz and disco. They had a live band play and we danced all night long. The drinks were surprisingly decently priced too. Only 10£ to enter. Getting here was easy enough, but I felt a little sketchy walking around the neighborhood. That may just be me being a foreigner and all.
I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff were very very friendly and I made somw friends here too. Just quite an amazing night.
D. L.
Great vibes, lovely dining area and great staff on service plus the entertainment!
D. D.
Beautiful sound and a really professional approach to music. It helps that the bar has a great selection and the service is top notch. We went to see Billy Cobham perform so we couldn't ask for better. If you have a chance to go, well, go...
C. C. G.
Amazing venues, last one with Billy Cobham.
Nice decoration.
J. R.
I felt welcome even before I entered the building.
I have back problems and staff at the Jazz Café were very accommodating, providing me with a chair and directing me to the disabled toilet.
Once the band came on stage the atmosphere really ramped up. The music was fantastic with each instrument given their moments to shine.
I will definitely go back.

Wonderful experience. Been here to see three soulful artists but they have different types of music to suit everyone. Check out their website and you can see upcoming shows for at least the next three months. Also you can eat there and sit upstairs with still a good view of the stage to watch the talent as well as hear it all. Drinks prices are similar to those in any other popular central area I.e. cocktail I bought was £8 - £9

Good food, great venue for live music and the restaurant staff are outstanding.
Only slight negatives were firstly that they don’t take Amex - probably one of a handful of London restaurants that don’t. Secondly the venue’s security are woeful - on TWO separate occasions, drunk guys got on stage and the sound guy had to wave for assistance - what the hell were security doing?
N. B.
They have some great artists on here. Its not a fancy place, its just a good place to go for a dance. Drinks are reasonably priced too. I have never had a night here that was not fun.
D. R.
Visited for the Night of Whitney event and had a great time. Very friendly staff both on the door and in the venue. I like the split level idea and the layout of the place is very good. Bar a bit expensive (£10 for a double rum and coke) but not any more than other places in the area. Would definitely visit again
B. S.
Very good venue, we were upstairs in restaurant area and saw The Original Wailers. Slightly obscured view from our table, but still enjoyable and close to the action. Very good table service, reasonable food for this type of venue and food selection of drinks. Went downstairs for a bit of a dance, packed dance floor but good fun.

Came here on Saturday and had all of the fun. Bartenders are super friendly!! Door staff and super friendly! and they even grabbed a chair for my friend who hurt his leg (we booked tickets for the standing area only). Haven't eaten here yet but saw some food go past and it looked and smelt amazing! Can't wait to return.
D. H.
From the moment you are met by the security team, until you pay your tab in the restaurant. You are treated as if you're a regular.
The food is prepared efficiently, at the right temperature to start eating straight away and tastes excellent.
The sound level doesn't leave you with the customary ringing in your ears as you leave the venue and you can almost see the stage from anywhere you're standing/sitting in the club.
I have been here many times and have enjoyed every experience.
G. B.
Legendary Camden club renown for its atmospheric jazz nights. Great views from the restaurant tables. The food is a little overpriced and the menu limited but ok.
You do get an intimate music experience and the downstairs area is always packed and buzing.
They have club nights after the live music at the weekend that are very popular.
E. B.
Amazing venue, just seen Eric Benet there and wow!!! I'd definitely love to visit again soon :)
A. F.
Great little venue in Camden. Decent drink prices, clean toilets and reasonably priced food. Great service from the waiting staff.
Great music venue - especially when eating there - but some views are restricted, but you always have the option of going downstairs to get in with the crowd. Great venue!!
F. A.
Amazing space. Saw a live blues band here Sunday evening and I had the blues night ever. Good atmosphere, drinks standard London pricing and room for a dance. Would I come here again? I plan too.
A. A.
Great venue to see live music, went to a Buenavista Social Club tribute and it was amazing! Musicians were top notch, the venue is big and spacious, it has a few bars that offer a great selections of drinks, it was very clean and the crowd was very pleasant. After the live music ends you have good Djs playing all the way through to its closing time at 3 AM. Definitely a good shout for a fun night out!
M. E. D.
Great programme of music on here but staff not creating the best vibe, to put it mildly. Bar staff: one nonchalant, the other pushy. Guy manning upstairs area: snooty and officious (as I have experienced with other jazz clubs in London too, but that doesn't excuse it). The room isn't the nicest space either. Shame really because as I say the bookers, musicians and tech staff are doing a wonderful job.
A. W.
Brilliant evening and great venue

Great spot in Camden Town!!! I had a blast when London Posse performed a few years ago! My friend DJ 279 made some of the best DJ Sets EVER!!! Really recommended!! 🔥❤️
N. d. M.
Intimate venue to watch renowned artists performing there. The food and service too are excellent.
I. P.
it's actually a surprisingly small place and if you want to eat anything you need to book a table for the resto section weeeks in advance. Otherwise they have a pretty great selection of performers, so it's still a great live venue.
T. W.
Great and beautiful venue! Great jazz gigs I came to listen to yesterday! I just had to ask my bank for a loan to buy a glass of wine. Other than than, I enjoyed my time there :)
F. S.
Fantastic atmosphere, super friendly staff
P. C.
We went for the music, which was great. We had a meal, which was good. The trouble was that people sitting around us were shouting at each other during the music, despite us asking them to turn down the volume twice (they were very apologetic, but started shouting again a few minutes later). The venue needs to decide what they are: a jazz bar or a place where people shout over the music, then either make it clear it's not a real jazz venue or make it clear it is.
P. R.
Great vibe, great lighting, great sound...Great staff and great show
A. B.
Nice intimate concert venue, love the table seating on the gallery. The bar staff was really friendly. The bathrooms can get a bit crowded though, and there was a plugged sink and a door with a missing a lock on a recent visit.
S. M.
Great local venue to see a range of talented musicians and artists playing live music! I love the atmosphere at Jazz Café and am always guaranteed a fab night out! :)
B. A.
I’ve been away living in New York and have certainly returned to a more evolved Camden & Jazz Cafe! My experience on the night of the Afro Cuban Allstars was like no other. Starting from the clipboard girl outside and the security I was so pleasantly informed and felt welcome. The food and drink menu upstairs is satisfying eclectic as is the service from the well presented and attentive staff. As a customer I felt special and catered for when the GM personally greeted us to make sure we had a good night. This, along with a mind- blowing stage performance and a buzzing yet well- behaved crowd = a MUST- GO venue !!!!!!
A. B.
Always a lovely space to enjoy great music. This time was the inimitable, super-talented Ledisi selling out 4 nights in a row! Beautifully intimate setting to get a sense of being up close and personal with one of my fave artists!!
A.
Great vibe. Drinks are way overpriced though.

Brilliant venue, friendly staff.

1st time in London, I've been multiple times in Jazz cafe in the U.S: Blue Note, Dizzy club New York and few other cities.
I was a bit excited for being Jazz cafe in London, Artists were great. However, waiting for performance for 90 minutes is cruel. Also, audiences didn't seem to care about music. At least they should listen performance while artists are playing music. It was very disappointed with people who were there. They were not listening only making too much noise intrupting other people's time. They should gone to a bar, not performing place.
M. S.
Celebrated my birtday at the restaurant. The staff were attentive and very friendly. I was expecting the food to be average as normally in this places you are paying to have an exclusive seat where you can enjoy the music sitting down, I was amazed with the food, really trully amazing. Wrthy of top restaurant, very decently proced too. I cannot recommend enough, it was an amazing expirience. Well done guys!!
D. D.
Really nice venue with great sound. Bar staff are super friendly and great to chat with. They don't overfill the venue which means there was always a space to duck into. The toilets are clean and stylish. The cloakroom is effective but it is £2 per item which stacks up quickly. Don't bring water with you - itll get taken off you. I was told I would be given another bottle to take away with me at the end but this never materialised. Overall a good experience!
s. B.
A great venue and staff. However. If you don't live in London and have to rely on getting the last train home, don't go expecting to see the whole show of your chosen artist.
We've been twice and both times the artists started late. That meant that we only got to see 4 or 5 songs before we had to leave. Very disappointing when we wanted to see the great artists
D. B.
Great venue for live music glad they survived the pandemic some great live acts.
A. B. (. F.
The venue has been very well refurbished, with a fresher and slightly more open layout, plus new flooring much better suited to dancing. Audio levels are well managed for both live music and DJs, making for an enjoyable experience. Spotlights are quite powerful, so be careful not to catch one in the face if you're near the front of the stage.
A. e.
Very much enjoyed the groups we saw here. Staff very friendly and gave excellent service from start to finish
Throughout the night regularly on hand providing us with top-ups on our drinks and available if we needed anything.
Lively atmosphere and a pleasant décor, Can't ask for much more!
J. B.
Decent gig venue, never overpacked even when sold out. They've made some changes since my last visit with the bars now placed closer to the front and back of the venue rather than in the middle which previously made things a little cramped.
Sound was good, beer selection has improved and the toilets are very well looked after for a concert venue

Great place , we had two music show on the same evening, it was great
Mara
And Kim Churchil.
We had a dinner on the second flour- good food and lovely staf .
And prices were reasonable.
We really enjoyed the space and the performances and the crowd was lovely mostly young but also people on their 50 or 60...
It was strange that when we had put our bags for safety they charged us 2 Sterling for each bag, which was expansive.
C. P. M. L.
I've been coming here since my early 20s now 47. It's one of the best live venues to see an artist up close and personal. Had the pleasure to see some legends of music here memories for life.Badu Gil Scott, Omar 🙏 Now older prefer upstairs where the food is quality along with the service. Never turn down a night out if you get the chance.
J. B.
It's cheaper to go on the ground floor but very good views from the restaurant. Basic menu but decent fare and reasonably priced acceptable quality wine. Acoustics for the opening act were a bit poor, but for the main act good.
Y. S.
I had such a great experience! I booked a table with my friends to see Anavitoria, the service was excellent! All the staff were so kind, and seemed really happy to work there.
I would really recommend the Burger its amazing!!
J. N. D.
Always a nice time at this easy to get too venue.
K. E.
Christopher Ellis.... was one of the best performances ever !! Great venue 👌

I've always been a fan of the Jazz Cafe as it has some of the best acts in town and always has a great Atmosphere. If seeing something more chilled I love eating there too, the food is really top notch and having table service on the balcony while soaking up the tunes just feels really special.
I never normally write reviews (good or bad), but I feel compelled to after my last visit to the Dilla tribute night. The staff and in particular the restaurant manager were just so helpful and accommodating to our group I just had share - Thank you so much for helping us to have a wonderful evening.
I've already booked tickets to my next Jazz Cafe event - Masta Ace with Marco Polo - Can't wait :)
E.
Nice venue with your average London priced drinks, would reccomend getting a ticket in advance as this could save you money. The venue consists of one main room and a mezzanine. Bar staff were polite and professional, but do remember there is a £2 cloakroom fee per item!
S. F. S.
Have not been for a few years, the bar has been put to the side making more space , wiggle room. Friendly staff , and Guinness is available again . Sound system sounds better than before . Cool.
D. B.
Great drinks, service and music

Ms Jocelyn Brown was truly Amazing, A Pleasure to hear her and her band🕺🏿💃🏿🙏🏿👍🏿👏🏿👑🎼🍾
C. Y.
The refurb looks good. It's the perfect setting to see a band as it's small enough to be intimate and the acoustics are great. The toilets are downstairs and there's actually two women's toilets but you probably won't see the main one as the sign isn't obvious. it's right by the bottom of the stairs, opposite the men's.
J. K.
Great evening out fantastic live performance by The stone foundation had a good meal in the restaurant great service great time booked to go and see the band again at the same venue brilliant place for live music
M. T.
Saw Etta Bond here and loved every minute! Thanks for having us
C. G.
Attended quite a few gig nights here. Great venue, nice and intimate, excellent friendly, quick efficient customer service and great atmosphere. Even better if you are lucky enough to get restaurant tickets!
A. A. H.
Very good place and a. Lot of events happening there you can visit and enjoy
L. T. R.
We had an exceptional time here during the live and fantastic performance of Antonio Sanchez and the band prior to his performance.
We purchased restaurant seats in the upstairs area that had a decent view. The service was excellent. Yasmin (sp?) was a great hostess and did a great job of recommending menu items to us especially the Octopus Tacos. This was a great opening to our time in London!
E. S.
Intimate little place. You get right up close with the artists.
J. C.
A great venue. Not too big, which means you can get close enough to the performers to feel really involved. Restaurant does a nice steak too!
m. h.
great place and fun and very well run cant wait to go again!
M. S.
Always loved this venue- was a bit disappointed when I came about a year ago but they've done a seriously fancy pants refurb and it's so beautiful now. Seems like the line-ups had a make-over too. Food was super delicious, service was really lovely, and the music was excellent! Came for Roy Ayers and he did not disappoint. It's just a really lovely setting to enjoy excellent music.
J. L.
Waitress questioning me about why I didnt drink alcohol was a bit rude. Then going on to ask me how I enjoy life without alcohol?! Do I really need to expect to explain medical conditions to a complete stranger to justify why I don't drink. Other than that we enjoyed the night. Great venue and would go back with the hope that we're not confronted by another rude employee.
E. T.
Went to see the London Gospel Choir. Me and my Mum had a fantastic evening, great atmosphere, delicious food and lovely staff, especially the manager. We will definitely return.
J. F.
Awesome evening with Freddie Mcgregor. Jazz Cafe was not what I was expecting, little bit small, but that didn't matter, very enjoyable evening. The only downside for me was when ordering food, it would be nice for the people serving us asking whether we wanted water, how cooked we wanted our food and not assume. Its not nice having a surprise when coming to pay the bill that it was £4.00 a bottle...
M. E.
I love this venue and have been going to gigs there for years. It can get packed but that's a good thing when seeing an act. Huge variety of live music though the week and it is looking awesome since the refit. Probably my favourite venue in London
J. G.
Jarrod Lawson 25 October 2021.....magnificent!!

This changed hands a 3/4 years ago and what a change. The service is excellent, really attentive. The menu is thoughtful and interesting. The choice is really global and eclectic. The wine list is outstanding and sommelier is very approachable. Love the decor and acoustics, been here many times and never fails. One of Londons top live music venues hand down,
A. K.
Amazing place with live music!
Service was great! Very friendly staff
M. K.
Had a great time at a live gig. The upstairs seating area was amazing & the staff were fantastic. Special mention goes to Miranda who was an excellent host
J. B.
We saw Hypnotic Brass Ensemble from the dining section as we enjoyed the southern fried chicken with sweet potato fries. The food was sublime and the show made it even better. Well worth the price!!
W. R.
For starters, the sound and lighting here is great. Very impressed with the vibe and atmosphere here. But how they charge so much for cheap rum mixers is beyond me. Was a tad surprised at the bill for drinks for me and 2 friends, but hey, we had a great time.
G. B.
Live music here is always superb whether you're standing downstairs or pay a little extra for a table upstairs in the restaurant. Staff are extra friendly and welcoming and always make sure you have a great time.
Ideally located and great menu options, I'd always recommend this place!
m. b.
Really good. Go find a band you like and book some tickets. Jazz cafe never fails. Always a fun night. Love it! Wish they had more R&B bands though.
D. H.
Absolutely fantastic venue and staff. Can't wait to return soon.
N. B.
What an amazing experience, we chose to have the table with food option, the food was extremely good, the service excellent and we had an unobstructed view of the stage. Definitely recommend.
C. O.
Great music, delicious food and cocktails, friendly and professional staff - a perfect balance of casual and sophisticated
R. L.
Excellent venue, easy to get to, great staff and awesome vibe.
B. P.
Has great music but the audience shout at each other all the way through nowadays so it can be a bit frustrating if you want to listen to it. Having said that, I went two weeks ago and saw Cameroonian artist, Blick Bassy with support from Senegalese kora player Kadialy Kouyate and at times during both performances you could hear a pin drop. The first time in years I've seen an audience so spellbound and it happened twice in one night. Great show.
J. W.
Just great to be back ...😊 Listening to a live band 😊
D. J.
There is a longer waiting time when in the que and the Band that performed did not begin to perform till gone 8:30. But once they began it made up for the waiting period. Drinks are fairly priced.
M. M.
Outstanding place to visit with a rich history of live performance.
Soul, jazz and funk.
With great names that have graced the stage, Jean Carne, Roy Aires, Lonnie Liston Smith and Tom Browned to name a few.
Great food at the up stairs restaurant with a great selection of wines and spirits.
Downstairs the dance floor and stage with two outstanding bars.
Plenty of seating for all.
An all round place for entertainment, and you are made so welcome.
On Fridays a great disco with a top notch sound system.
And every first Sunday of the month live performances which you can buy tickets on line or at the door.
So great music and a great time, make it your destination when going to Camden.....
C. H. H.
Amazing gig with rag n bone man, great service and drinks
J. H.
Great venue, big enough for a decent crowd and atmosphere yet still have an intimate feel when watching live music. Good sound and a nice art Deco decor. Good pale ale on tap
K. T.
Needs little intro. London's best live jazz and dinner venue. Cozy. Don't miss their chicken wings!! Super delicious, marinated for a day and slow cooked tender tasty and juicy !
A. R.
Love this venue. The music floats my boat, great night to be had whether it's gig or club. One warning: the dance floor is pretty tight.
H. H.
We always have a fantastic time at the Jazz Cafe due to the great line up of acts that play here on a regular basis. Sound quality is great and it's usually a good crowd, the only downfall is the drinks prices - £23 for two double spirit and mixers.. Perhaps stick to beer!
B. T.
One of my favourite places for eclectic and alternative live and DJ music. The drinks are good and not too overpriced and the staff is nice and welcoming. Recommended to buy tickets to avoid higher prices and waiting too long in line, or get there early!
A. L. (.
Great table service and awesome Afrobeat night with Dele Sosimi. A shame Covid stopped us dancing but respect the efforts made to keep people safe and still entertained. Really good night out.
C. O.
Even better since the refurb. It's like no other music venue in London - can't recommend it enough.
The food is also delicious and what an experience... Watching an incredible performance from the mezzanine whilst being waited on hand a foot.
J. R.
Nice venue, parking doable, near the tube, intimate without being claustrophobic
G. F.
Amazing night, incredible staff, very accommodating of my disability
Review of Jazz Cafe
Pending review
My partner booked a surprise 40th birthday visit to the Jazz Cafe for me on New Years Day to see 'An Evening With Amy' which was superb Amy Winehouse tribute live jazz band.
I have Spinfbifida which gives me severe problems with walking. We called ahead as we were worried about standing in the queue and the door staff were fantastic. We were allowed to go straight ahead, with the door staff helping me in and upstairs to the restaurant.
We were greeted by the restaurant manager, Danya who was amazing. She had taken the trouble to change our table reservation from a stool and bar to one of the proper tables which would be far more comfortable for me. The food was fantastic and the cocktails were some of the best I've ever had.
Danya and her team really couldn't do enough to make the evening great, even bringing some complimentary fizz as a birthday treat! The band were incredible too and all in all contributed to an amazing 40th birthday.
I can't wait to visit again :) Thank you, Jazz Cafe!
