I was around in Vauxhall looking for some decent cafes during lunch break but couldn't one. But I found this restaurant offers Korean menu and it was better than I thought mainly the service was fantastic. Very clean and friendly environment, staff were welcoming. Small dining area but enough space for a quick lunch fix. Some photos of my lunch orders, I enjoyed the tofu and seafood soup, rice was amazing, I would recommend this dish particular in winter or cold seasons. Kimchi pancake was a bit greasy but don't judge, we need some treats from time to time. I did say that I would bring some friends which I certainly will.

Our group had an amazing time at Jihwaja last night! All of the staff team were wonderful, food was fantastic (probably the best korean fried chicken I've ever had!) and the karaoke equipment was amazing. I will definitely be back again! Definitely recommend for a fun night out.

One of the better places to have Korean, certified by a Korean expat (not me, I'm Chinese). Came here with a bunch of friends, of which one of them is Korean, and she rated this place the best Korean cuisine in the area (there's another Korean place right down the road that she visits regularly). The chicken is undoubtedly a must try, the flavours mixed well with the batter and the meat is as fresh as anything you could find. I personally like the kimchi to be a little more tangy and spicy, but to each it's own. Another positive point to note is the calmness and attentiveness of the staff. The place is a little small and might get crowded even on a weekday dinner time so best bet is to book ahead.

A fantastic Korean restaurant with great food and efficient service. They also have a variety of Korean soju, my favorite flavour is grape, it's a must try. Really enjoyed the fried chicken, so much so that I had to order a 2nd portion. Go with friends and family but book a table in advance because the restaurant gets busy.

In terms of food it was good but I have definitely had better. Good prices though. I think this place is definitely better if you participate in karaoke as opposed to just going for food. Also we drank wine out of plastic wine glasses.. not sure if this was for covid (understandable) but if not it would be nice to have actual glasses.

Great fun and very authentic experience. Staff don't want to chat, not very fun atmosphere from them and the English section for singing is far smaller than that found in a bog standard noraebang in suburban Korea. Expensive if you're alone or in a couple @ 30 p/h, but open late and there's a restaurant out back too.

Accidentally discovered this place while wondering around in NYE. Was surprised to get a table let alone a private booth (for food only). Coming from New Malden I know all about Korean food and this place didn't disappoint. Good clean food as expected and much cheaper than I imagined also with a friendly staff. They are also open till 3 am!

We went to this resto today. Restaurant is in good location and good ambience. As its Covid time, they have alcohol gel to use in the entrance and they also check the temperature. AREA: Spacious and we were seated at 15-2. As it is summer, it is so hot. They have the aircon on but it seems like its not working. We have to use the Menu booklet as a fan as the heat is unbearable. We did request the staff to lower the temp but she said that it was lowest it can get. FOOD: I cant complain with the food. Tasty and delicious. The only comment I can give is its not so spicy for the bimbimbab. Takoyaki is anworth try! STAFF: hardworking, courteous and good customer service. It could have been 5 stars but it was too warm and we have to use the menu booklet as a fan because of it. The staff said it is the coldest temp of the aircon. Management should look unto this.

The best chicken ever. Really incredible chicken platter, that is the perfect mixture of moist (sauce coating) and crunchy. Every sauce I’ve tried has been delicious. Get a couple of mates and order a couple platters of chicken and starters. Delicious fast food.

Great food and atmosphere. Staff are all friendly. Only issue is seating, there's not enough. So if you have a large group then call in advance or expect to wait. The bibimbap and chicken dumplings are my favourite. I've eaten here a few times with friends and tried half of the menu. Octopus balls were surprisingly good.

Food was great, highlight for me was the sweet and sticky chicken wings 🤤. As the evening progressed we moved on to karaoke which was a blast. The remote control was a little unwieldy and we couldn't work out how to skip a song once selected... So be careful with your choices! Overall a great evening and good value, definitely recommend.

Well, what can I say? I think the photo really sums it up. We arrived at 7 to a fun and cute door bell that greeted us as heartily and shy as our friendly waiter. We walked through winding corridors, unknown what waited round the corner, full of anticipation and hungry stomachs. We were immediately seated into a small and warm room. The food (fairly priced for a London restaurant) was exceptional and tasteful, and according to our friend who had in fact visited Korea last year, admitted that the food was of similar taste. The beer was also suitably priced and well served in chilled glass. Mine didn’t come with a glass, but all I had to do was ask for one and I might as well not have, because it arrived sooner than I could count to two. Then, just as we were thinking about asking my for the bill, it was brought to us. Weird or what?? 5 stars indeed. Would definitely come again. Thanks, Jihwaja, you really made our night great and one to remember.

Went here on a Tuesday evening without a reservation, just the two of us. It didn't sound busy but I think we were lucky to get a table, almost all of them were taken by - what seemed like - people who were comfortable there, likely to linger a while. We weren't especially hungry so sharing a fried chicken platter, a salad and a portion of rice was enough for us. ..though I could've shared another platter if my friend fancied it. They're that good! The rest of the menu looks good too, all the Korean staples you'd expect from a place that doesn't do barbecue. And up to £8 for most dishes, plus some lunch deals. So I'd definitely recommend this place and will be coming back again. And I'll be coming here for karaoke at least once! The smaller karaoke room fits up to about 10, costs £30/h. While the larger room fits around 20 at £60/h and there's a minimum party total spend of £500 on food and drinks.

I visited just to eat (not karaoke), and while the food is great and decently priced, the ambience in the small seating area is not so good. It's bright and quite cramped, and we were told half way through our meal that we'd have to rush due to our table being turned, though this didn't even happen in the end. Still, I'd recommend it for the food alone.

Maybe the staff was new or overworked, but in general there have been several rookie mistakes which have been reason of awkwardness in few if not all the occasions. Will come back and give it one more shot in the future, perhaps was just an evening off or we came in late for food, but this experience wasn't best

Lovely food, i had a great bibimbap and it was delicious. The decor could do with some updating but is still clean and tidy. The main let down was the service. Our waitress had to be reminded several times about different aspects of our order, and didn’t seem too bothered when we reminded her of things she had forgotten. I probably would come back because the food was good, but the poor service really did let down the experience.

Had an amazing time at Jihwaja today (went here last week as well). Among all of the karaoke places that I've been to, this place is the best. They keep their karaoke songs list up to date and the food is one of the best I've eaten in London. Great value for money and very covid-secure - they provide disposable covers for your microphones, check everyone's temperature as you enter and give you hand sanitiser before you enter the room. Very clean and cosy! I will definitely be coming back again - hopefully next week. Thank you Jihwaja!

It was amazing. Really friendly staff, a good selection of songs for karaoke and good food. Food a drinks could have come a tiny bit quicker but you barely notice the time when you are belting out songs. Our room comfortably held 10 people and the staff were very nice when we kept asking for the air con to be turned on/off (10 people dancing creates a lot of heat) I will be coming back here again!

I got takeaway because I couldn’t eat in, but it was the best buldak I’ve ever had. I’d prefer it a little more spicy, but it was delicious and it came with kimchi! There was a good portion of rice, too. The girl at the reception was very helpful and kind, I don’t know her name but I was there around 10pm. I’m 100% coming back.

Great little (?) restaurant with a bunch of small rooms you can dine in and/or song karaoke in. Ring your door bell for service, they appear in seconds ready to serve/help you. Food was lovely and spicy, great kimchi and tofu starter. The tea is a bit sweet for my liking. Overall it's good value with friendly and attentive service.

I first came to jihwaja for my birthday last year and loved it to much I took my sister back for her birthday last week. Both times we came in large groups for food and karaoke. The service has been excellent both times - very attentive, efficient and friendly! Even when taking big bookings and large orders. The food is delicious (especially the soy garlic fried chicken!!) And great for sharing. Karaoke also great with lots of new songs and easy to use. Thank you jihwaja we’ll be back!

Friendly, quirky and the perfect spot for a Karaoke gathering. You can book out a room and have dinner, then they clear the tables and the karaoke begins! The food is yummy – the bibimbap and cheese corn especially. The staff are friendly. They can be a little chaotic when booking a room, but be patient, it’s worth it. We had some trouble with feedback on the mics but the staff were helpful. Go to the Vauxhall Tavern afterwards for dancing.

I *love* Jihwaja! I've been several times for karaoke and Korean food - the meals are delicious, drinks reasonably priced and karaoke always huge fun, if totally random. The staff are really helpful, especially when I had to cancel a booking fairly last minute due to illness. Would totally recommend!

Staff are extremely accomodating and flexible even for a large group of 20, the food is good and the karaoke is always quite up to date with the latest pop and K-pop songs. I recommend having the hot plum tea while you sing, as it's good for the throat!

Favourite karaoke place Gotta book in advance though to make sure there are rooms available Wide selection of songs (korean, english, chinese, japanese and ...fillipino i think? Idr but theres 1 more) Can adjust volume of microphones and of music as well as whether or not to back the backhround vocals (thwres a big remote thing with lots of buttons) their songs are somewhat up to date. Pricing is decent aswell :) and staff are friendly Toilet is a big hard to get to but just ask staff.

The chicken was very good, nice sauce and wholesome although seemed a little bit overpriced. However, as a Korean myself, the jjajangmyun and jjampong lacked flavour and authenticity. The latter was a common instant noodle found at Korean supermarkets (except the seafood was quite good) and the jjajangmyun noodle was not very nice.

This is a tiny upper floor restaurant with two/three k-pop playing kareoke booths. The biggest of the karaoke booths can be converted into a restaurant style dining room with two big tables and one tiny date table. The karaoke room soundproofing is not great. The food is snack food - and probably great for sharing whilst doing karaoke. It is not exactly a restaurant though which is what it bills itself as.

I really enjoyed my visit to Jihwaja. Very reasonably priced food, some decent beers (eg Hitachino Nest), and the service we received was very prompt and courteous. To be honest I'm a bit surprised that the reviews below are a bit mixed - maybe some folk have had quite different expectations when visiting? In any case, I would certainly recommend it for dinner (we didn't try the karaoke).

Interesting little place, amongst one of the newer korean places around the area. I ordered a beef japchae, plain rice, and hite beer. Unfortunately my experience of the food was not too good. The portions were quite small. The japchae did not taste lacked its signature flavour. In addition, the menu itself was quite limited.

It was our first time going to the restaurant and the staff were really friendly, especially the lady who served us. She was asking our preferences and she was suggesting what to eat. I was craving odeng so we had odeng tang and that didnt disappoint, alongside tteokbokki, kimari twigim and dolsot bibimbap. Every single dish didn't fail me. The atmostphere felt sophisticated but cozy at the same time. Overall, our experience here was fantastic. We will definitely keep coming back!

First time I have tried Korean food, we were seated in a private room 6adults and 2kids, we were served quite quickly, and the food followed soon after, the food was presented well and very tasty, and the cost was very reasonable, we enjoyed the experience, we would go again.
