Amazing comedy show. Felix was amazing, it is a lovely establishment if you’re looking for a laugh around central London. 10/10 would recommend. I’ll for sure be back next week.

I have been to the Lions Den comedy club on a fair few occasions in the past six months or so. I am not a comedian but I do enjoy comedy and especially the open mic nights as you never quite know who or what you are going to get. The venue appeals to me as it is a few minutes walk from my flat and it is quite relaxed - you can just walk in and either be right up the front or just having a quiet drink at the back. The staff are friendly, as are the people, and you feel that they really want the best for you as an audience, which is really nice to see and experience. The only negative experience I had was a little while ago when I brought two friends along on the Tuesday - we were queuing to get in and then a young, Scottish chap behind the desk shouted at us "ARE YOU'S REGISTERING OR NOT?" in an aggressive tone. I explained that we were just there to watch the show and he just shrugged his shoulders and made an odd grunt of a noise - my friends wanted to leave but I persuaded them to stay; we are all entitled to have "bad days" as it were. But over the course of the night it became clear that there is some kind of issue there - two comedians approached him to say hello and he offered them a "wet fish" handshake and made some remark about them not deserving his time or something, to which they both looked at each other understandably confused. I thought this may be tongue in cheek but I saw him being very openly disparaging about some other acts at the bar, the kind of conversation designed for others to hear as it were. It's a great pity, an act that I was talking to said he always casts a "dark shadow" over the night if he is there and makes no effort to welcome people or be friendly, which is probably the worst kind of person you could imagine running a comedy venue. By comparison, the other man I have seen running the nights called Tim is the polar opposite, kind, funny, supportive, genuine and passionate. I will go back again but my friends sadly probably won't - this was their first exposure to open mic comedy so they probably think that all clubs are like that which is sad. So, in conclusion, I wouldn't put you off but I would steer clear if the young Scottish man is running the night again - I can't quite understand the motivation to act that way unless all you care about is what you can get out of the night for yourself.

Pleasant funny Monday night with a lot of enthusiastic Comedy newbies respective no professionial on stage. I appreceate that it is a kind of "walk in" open mic. But you have to be there very early if you want to perform.

Good amateur comedy on a Tuesday night. No need to book ahead for a spot it's turn up and you might get a spot.
