Reviews of The Bill Murray
M. A.
I liked the comedy and the staff are very friendly. The comedy room as such smells like feet, so could definitely do with some TLC, maybe a thorough cleaning and some deodorant.
The room was absolutely packed and not ventilated with no one wearing masks, which I find a bit odd in (post) COVID times, but maybe that's just me, living in a country, where mask wearing is still very much a thing.
A. P.
Great venue and awesome crowds. Been meaning to check out the Bill Murray/Angel Comedy for a while now and had a blast performing here.
Friendly staff, great drinks and an intimate space to watch/perform comedy.
s.
One of the most amazing comedy clubs with a cosy and exciting atmosphere. You can see high class acts here closer and more personal than on TV. My girlfriend also did a comedy class here and liked it a lot!
Come here and enjoy, you won't regret it! 🥸👌
A. D.
Took a date here for his first comedy gig. He told me after that he didn’t even know he was capable of laughing for that long.
Been here a few times and have always had a great time. Such a gem of a place.👌🏼
B.
Best £8 we’ve ever spent. One of the funniest evenings we’ve had with 4 top acts making us cry with laughter all the way through!!! 100% go there on a date, with your mum, by yourself you will have an amazing time
N. B.
Probably the easiest 5* review I've given. All 4 comedians were sensational, as was the MC. Nice venue too, reasonable prices and attention to detail. I will be returning.
R. H.
Bloody brilliant hour watching Tim Key, but the hero’s of the night were the staff! Big high five to Jade- great customer service and a lovely human. Thanks to the bar staff for our free vodka, lime and soda! It was night of wins!! We will be back. My face aches.
S. G.
It’s boiling inside, all the acts were hilarious except the host dude. We became so brainwashed that he cheers the audience with covid19 medical questions. This isn’t normal in any ways. Then ofc he claims to be the liberal with labour agenda :D sure mate you are the best…
J. O. M.
If I could, I’d give more stars. About ten thousand more stars and I’d still feel like it wasn’t enough. The Bill Murray has the wonderful quality of being a venue that people clearly care about. From the owners, the staff, the acts and the customers - it’s just a bloody lovely place. It’s a unique venue full of properly good stuff and my favourite spot to watch standup comedy.
S.
A brilliant comedy club tucked away in a great part of London. Had a blast and Barry the MC was an amazing host.
You can’t go wrong for the price and they have an excellent choice of beer with regular breaks between the acts.
m. h.
What a beautiful little gem. It was my first time visiting and performing at this wonderful venue and felt so welcomed by the warm and sweet staff. The little beer garden is also so cute. Can't wait to be back to enjoy a show and a drink.
S. B.
Went to the comedy club - very snug seating but good beer choice (including gluten free) and nice atmosphere.
H. L.
Great independent community comedy venue with very good value tickets usually on sale for work in progress shows. Great small room to see people up close with a good selection of beers, cosy beer garden.
D. S.
Intimate space. Lovely bar staff. Brilliant MC, great comedians. Definitely recommend!
L. S.
Nice pub filled with quirky decor. good beers and friendly staff. Most importantly - an amazing small, intimate space in the back showing great new comedy. Every show I have been to has been £5 and they put on some amazing up and coming talent, look out for Paddock which is a showcase of experimental stand up and short films.
H. D.
Brilliant stand up show. I've been here a couple of times and I highly recommend it. There's also a bar outside with friendly staff
O. D.
Absolutely ideal. Lovely little pub area with an even lovelier and littler comedy club section. Hosts big names in a tiny spot
S. G.
Super friendly staff. Good selection of beers. Perfect little bar to chill out in before a comedy show
E. T.
What a gem of a place. A perfect little comfy nugget in which to drink, be happy and enjoy the best comedy in London. Love it.
p. (.
Great little venue. When they say show up latest 1900 for the 2000 shows on weekends they mean it! It fills up fast! Totally free and totally hilarious... depends on the acts of course... Good selection of expensive drinks but what do you expect when the show is free. I'll keep going back and I'll keep paying for those drinks!
D. A. S.
I went to see Aspergers Are Us at this venue. I was impressed with the staff. How quick their were to serve and help and the prices was fair and reasonable.
D. B.
Fantastic small venue. Very intimate and full of character.
D. H.
Intimate venue with friendly staff (who don't take cash). A very pleasant experience had.
R. M. S.
Comedians are hilarious but the space is so cramped that I can almost feel the Covid seeping into my pores.
T.
Great service from the staff and very delightful to talk to. The bar being so tiny, adds charm to the establishment that allows people to be more interactive and converse with one another. Great selection of beers and great comedians too.
A. D.
Nice intimate venue, cheap entry ,good comedy (usually 3 comedians per show), friendly atmosphere and close to a bunch of other bars, Cubs and restaurants.
R. G.
Great comedy show and really polite staff.
J. S.
Great comedy pub. Small, but have seen fantastic acts here. The staff is always super friendly.
S. G.
Had a brilliant night here. We arrived late so got put on the reserve list but we're lucky enough to get in and the comedians were sooo funny!! Would fully recommend to all!
G. E.
Small friendly comedy venue in former pub, pleasant staff.
F. A. B.
Really funny jokes , interactive with the public and great beer ! Totally recommend it once if you are coming to London
E. S.
Friendly, authentic, intimate and the comics I saw were all incredibly funny and talented. A definite must. Made me wish I lived in London.
B. L.
Don’t be fooled by the quiet location and diminutive size, Chinese restaurant decor and relaxed reservations (on the door) this is a great venue for an intimate evening of comedy. Not ideal for a large group (6+) due to the seating space. Caters for around 75 people. Highly recommended to get their 45mins before the start time to avoid disappointment.
G. M.
It's a pub where they play comedies. The environment was welcoming and the beer was good. They always have events going on so key your eyes open for the next one. Cheers
S. F.
Best comedy club in London. Always worth popping by
G. M.
Small/intimate comedy space/pub. Great staff, good comedians. Will be back
H. Q. G.
Cosy! But brilliant atmosphere.
Friend I was with had a coughing fit and could not get out. I warned them before the show that once you were in, you were in, and if you tried to leave, you probably would not be allowed back in.
M.
A great comedy venue which is just a bit tight inside
J. K.
We went on a Sunday night at the last minute and we had a great time. There were great local comics who were experienced and had tight sets and solid jokes. There was also a good range of comics as far as age, ethnic background, and general styles which is always fun to see. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone who wants a fun night out. They have a nice terrace outside and good beer at the bar.
N. A.
Cozy atmosphere, too Many Matts, nice Gin ;)
M. B.
A bit crammed and crowded but an excellent comedy venue
G. V.
Great standup comedy. I visited on a saturday. If they can maintain quality of the acts, it will be truly amazing
J. R.
Had a brilliant night seeing James Vietch here, since the venue is also a pub there was a large selection of drinks on offer as well as a small beer garden. Would definitely recommend
l. h.
Lovely, cosy little club. All the staff are very friendly. it's got a small but very nice garden out back. Drink are reasonable for London and there is free entertainment most nights from 8-9.
My wife and I went for a paid show at 9 but got there early so watched the free show and it was brilliant and really made our night. They do ask that if you can and you're willing then to please give a donation to help support the free shows, but there is no pressure and it's completely optional, however it's definitely worth a few quids.
K. P.
Amazing comedy in here. A great atmosphere too!
I. R.
I keep coming back here - it's such a good place to see big comedians doing work in progress shows for under £10. Really friendly staff, small venue so gets busy!
P. B.
This is amazing! If you get a chance to come here - do it. We went to a free show - 5 comedians which were genuinely really good and funny. All from different backgrounds - it was brilliant! They do ask for a donation at the end of the show - so I would bring some cash for that. The bar is genuinely reasonably priced as well - would completely recommend this place!
C. K.
Such a great way to spend an evening. Great comedians and staff are super friendly
I. H.
This is an old pub which has been converted into a comedy stand up venue. I went to see some first time acts. The venue is small and was managed well so was not overcrowded. Some acts were better than others but the whole experience was fun.
K. D.
Such a suprise for me and my girlfriend,
We went out on Saturday with out plan,
then decide to go somewhere, after Google research we went Bill Murray.
İ wasn't expecting to Lough that much.
Amazing comedy club in small corner pub. All four of comedians were very funny also presenter.
Free charge but highly recommend you to donate some money.
Definitely worth to try.
Bravo
K. W. C.
I was predisposed not to like this place as it used to be my favourite pub in London (R.I.P the Mucky Pup). However, it says it all that I visit The Bill Murray even more now than I did in its previous incarnation.
The quality of the comedy is second-to-none - I've seen some of the very best comics in the country doing low-key sets for a fiver here. It's cramped but not uncomfortable, the staff are helpful and friendly, and I've never walked out disappointed.
Worth noting though that while this place is listed as a pub, the bar space is tiny. Its function is as a comedy club so poss not the best place to meet friends for drinks if you're not also catching a show there.
C. G.
Great evening out. Pay what you can for an hour or so of stand-up comedy in a basic but nice little venue. Worth arriving just over an hour before and you will be given a number. You are then free to leave or stay in the bar and return 10 minutes before the start of the show. Some great comedians!
F. L.
Cosy old skool pub-club
Back to basics:
good beer & friendly welcome
M.
Fantastic evening lovely cosy comedy lounge a great evening out
K. C.
Waiting for the front row at the Bill Murray to fill up. Awesome little venue for stand up comedy, great value. Cosy pub with courtyard.
B. R. B.
Really good night. the stage setup is ludicrously intimate, to the point where our feet were resting on the platform itself. But the atmosphere was fire, the MC was genuinely hilarious, you got to see 5 comedians that all had merit and you can pay what you can afford so if you had a good night then you feel fine with chipping in extra and don't feel like your money has been wasted. They also do Amstel on tap and their cocktails are scum but powerful. What more do you wantl
I. M.
Lovely location for comedy. Friendly staff & very affordable drinks.
O. d. S.
I visited the stand up the other night, even though it was the hottest july day on record the acts were still on fire! It was an amazing evening of comedy, I loved all the acts and will certainly be visiting again! A great night for friends / dates / good times! thank you for the amazing show! :D
R. A.
If you are seriously into your stand up comedy then this is absolutely the best place to get to in the whole of London. The very best of the comedy world come here. Catch a few decently-priced work-in-progress shows before Edinburgh and save yourself a journey up in August.
J. S.
Always a great night out, and a great date venue!
The comedy can be of variable quality... but that is what is so fun. A very warm enviroment.
N. B.
Brilliant, unpretentious venue with great up-and-coming comedians. Free on the door with a very reasonable £10 fee recommendation at the end (totally optional, you can pay nothing, but why would you want to?). Drinks are very reasonable too. The bar itself has a load of character, especially the outside, which has a load of spraypainted portraits of comedy greats. London needs more places like this.
A. R.
Amazing venue for live comedy, take out food is allowed and the price per pint is around £5. Nice atmosphere, though very little seating in the pub section if are waiting for the show. On Saturdays in particular it is a must to arrive more than 30 minutes early for the live comedy.
R. H.
Good, small and well priced comedy.
R. G.
Friendly place that is respectful of residents in terms of noise levels, which I think is sweet. But it gets reeeeeeally crowded in between shows/before a show, especially if people are trying to get out whilst loads of other people are waiting to get in.so that can feel pretty stressful. Luckily, everyone is generally nice to each other and just deals with it best they can.
Decent enough alcohol selection for such a small space, too :)
You do tend to get a bit of a numb arse on the hard chairs in the performance space, and as you're crowded in, it can be a squeeze. I'm not too bothered by that, but I'm just letting people know in case it is something they need to take into consideration.
C. M.
Great night and acts. Will be back :)
T. B.
Came here for the free comedy night on Friday. I was so impressed with the quality of the line-up (with a few famous faces thrown in the mix too). We need more places like this in London to support the local stand up community. Besides the entertainment the drinks are reasonably priced and there is a good selection of ales and craft beer too.
X. X.
Booze and comedy, what more do you need?
n. t.
Great little venue, good comedy and even some free comedy if you get there early enough, Shane it’s not a bigger venue in the bar area but worth a visit - saw the comic Andrew Lawrence, always good to watch
D. C.
Loads of great acts come through. I love seeing the work in progress shows.
M. W.
This place is definitely a little hole in the wall place that is a little bit farther away from the main road but definitely worth it. They have several shows each night and most of them are really cheap or free. Just make sure that you check the website for times an prices. If they are free, get there early so they can put you on the list or you won’t be able to get a seat.
D. D.
Really good night out. You will laugh your head off. Although it says it is a free night out, it in facts cost between £5 and £10 each. But it is worth it! I would pay £5 for comedians this good! The beer on tap is good quality and well priced. Just make sure you have a fiver otherwise you will have to queue to use the card machine.
A. B.
Friendly staff, great comedy for the price, decent affordable beer selection, beats £16 for a movie - Felicity Ward was excellent as expected
D. Z.
Great place to have a laugh and a few few pints!
A. L.
Just Brilliant. Comedy at it's most raw and intimate. 2 Brilliant rooms and reasonably priced booze plus funny stuff on every wall and ceiling. The complete comedy experience. Love this place. I go there at least once a month. Makes me happy.
F. Y.
Amazing as always! Great beer at decent prices! Friendly staff and stunningly hilarious comics! This is the place I bring all my overseas friends when they visit and say they want 5o attend a comedy show!
s. f.
Great little venue with some excellent comedians each week. Get on the mailing list so you know when the big acts are taking to the stage. As everyone mentions it’s free so incredibly popular. They do ask for donations at the end of the night so bring a tenner with you. Blokes toilets are a bit grim and cold.
D. B.
Great venue for comedy in London
T. A.
Lovely pub with comedy club attached. Has a garden and a small area that's not part of the club, but it's mainly geared at getting people along for the comedy gigs. Quite tucked away on side streets so when there's no gig on, it's often a nice quiet spot
C. W.
Absolutely lovely little pub in London, a little hard to find at first although the great mural on the side does help. They do amazing comedy nights, and the staff are lovely. I went here twice to see James Veitch when he was testing out new material and it was very good. I'd definitely recommend popping in if you're local!
P. b.
Went to see Andrew Lawerence last Sunday, great staff, nice feel about the place, small inside, but it gives the place a great atmosphere, have a spare night go on down
T. H. I.
Really cool place in Angel that hosts Stand up artists every week and has hosted some of the biggest of the British scene! Good laugh, good drinks. Definitely going again.
M. D.
Locale for a crowd-funded comedy club. Great atmosphere, great gigs. You do have to book in advance to get a seat, however, the show room is very small.
Z. D.
A great pub in Angel that offers free stand up comedy every night of the week! The quality is usually excellent but queues are normal and they sell out quick!
Throwing money in the bucket it the end is expected, £5-£10 is usually fine and the drinks are very reasonable for the area too, so all in all a pretty good cheap night out!
Q. B.
Great local place for comedy. Always a pleasure and funny too.
L.
Great night for free* comedy. Small and dark, ideal for a first date if you sit in the front row.
* - they suggest paying £5+ on the way out, well worth it.
G. H.
One of the places to visit if you're in the capital and you like your stand-up comedy. Never the same night twice, with some unknowns and some recognisable names. It's a small, dark, tightly packed venue - perfect for comedy. We were lucky enough to get in for Daniel Kitson, who I've wanted to see for a while. Barry Ferns is a great compere as well.
A. R.
A great place for free comedy. The acts we saw were clearly quite new to stand-up, but nice to see some fresh blood and we had a good laugh. The night was very well-organised - you are given a number when you arrive. First-come, first-served! Arrive early to avoid disappointment. We arrived at 9pm for the 9.30 showing, however this was already full. We enjoyed a drink or two while we waited for the 11pm showing instead. The only downside - the toilets! There was nothing funny about them... being hand sanitiser and pocket tissues.
S. M.
Angel Comedy is wonderful and their venue is fabulous. This bar features jokes on the walls, funny plaques, and signs promoting their gender inclusive restroom policy (see photo). Patronize this comedy club. Give them your love.
M. Z.
This was a weird experience but WELL WORTH IT. there are two 40 minute comedy slots with the 10 minute break between them. the comedians who run the show are a bit lame to be honest but one of the two 40 minute slots was very very good ( Jordan Brooks ). now I can't promise anyone good will be there when you go however you never know which up and coming comedian you might come across and you will see them in their early stages so will have a unique insight into their comedy.
The room itself is tiny and there are seats for a max of about 40 people. When me and my wife went there were about 12 people, 4 of which seem to work with the comedian by intentionally laughing to try and jeer the crowds into a laughy feeling. Partially why it feels weird but also understandable. The comedians don't pick on the crowd too much and nothing too personal and it's a very warm atmosphere, so don't worry about it being a small crowd. They even dim the lights so the focus is on the (hopefully excellent) comedian rather than you.
All in all, brilliant night out and very unique for a tourist.
E. S.
Cozy comedy club. Went yesterday at the 9pm, absolutely hilarious! Loved all the comedians - host included! A donation is expected at the end of the show, which is definitely worth it.
It’s packed in the weekends, then better go early.
B. W.
Brilliant comedy venue. Close to Angel as well as Highbury and Islington stations, it's a bit hidden away in a back street. They have comedy events on all the time. The pub itself is a bit on the small side, but has a beer garden attached as well.
R. S.
This is a really friendly, buzzy venue - pub is nice (didn't visit the beer garden) and the comedy venue within is intimate and informal. I saw the up and coming Johnny White, who successfully found the way to deliver a very well structured comedy with a delightfully illusory air of impromptu accident, through series of well worked scenarios. Lots of recurring riffs, like the meetings with Ben Affleck and an incident with an apple. Lots of genuine laughs. Very promising I thought.
J. D.
This place has to be hands down the best night in London. Free to get in, pay what you can afford to leave. Fantastic compares and acts on the free nights, see big name (James acaster for £5!) never disappoints and always brings a big smile.
N. d. P.
The Bill Murray is home of the Angel Comedy Club. It is an extremely well run venue with a wide range of acts, shows and genres. On any one evening you could find a massive name trying out new material followed by a little known eccentric playing to 4 people. Check out the website regularly - don't expect to just turn up and be able to walk in to the likes of Izzard, Acaster or Kitson - but then again, there are returns and people turning up by themselves because a mate couldn't make it.
As well as being a comedy venue, it is a pub. The bar area is small but the bar well stocked and the staff excellent. There is a tiny garden (smoking area) which is the best use of the smallest space I have seen.
T. V.
Love it here! Cosy atmosphere and the comedians laugh with everyone! Don't come if you don't want them to laugh with you 🤪 Amazing venue, I recommend it to everyone!
s. w.
cosy intimate space for a gig, looks like they have some pretty big names that perform there. Bar was tiny, but so is my bladder, so im glad I didn't get the chance to buy a drink before the show.
A. B.
Amazinhlg!
Been there for the comics show and I simply lived it. It is free entrance but at the end is nice if you can just leave some coins. They do a great job there! I need to go again! Is a must!
S. W.
A good night but it is not free as advertised. You are guilt-tripped into paying as you walk out the door, with the recommended donation £15. I didn't actually mind but I just felt like I had been tricked into attending and hadn't budgeted for this.
C. C.
Slightly scruffy pub featuring live stand up comedy. The walls and fittings are adorned with little brass plaques commemorating the people who contributed to the crowd funding appeal that helped make it a reality. We try to get here whenever we're in London. Would be improved with a couple of decent real ales.
M. L. R.
Amazing experience. Beers and cocktails are at a normal price counting the fact that you are in London and the gig is for free. I absolutely recommend it, I'm impressed. The staff is also really nice and helpful
A. D.
Went to The Bill Murray for a comedy night. By God did we enjoy ourselves. Staff were so kind and accommodating. Perfect for a date or group meet up or even bring the parents too! We will be back! Thanks for the laughs everyone at the bill Murray.
P. F.
Awesome, everyone should go there at least once in their lives, it'll never be the last. London comedy at its best, and free; all that is asked is a donation if you have it to keep the comedy free. Well done The Bill Murray, keep it up.
a. s.
I’m so happy I come across this place in my short time in london.
Amazing atmosphere, great comedians, great show. I went alone and would go every night if I could.
Truely a hidden gem in London. I’m happy I found it.
J. G.
Comedy club, originally crowd funded from its old scheme; small bar area and stage that can fit maybe around a hundred seated audience. The sponsors have little plaques on bricks and seats and other items showing who helped fund it. Some minutes walk from nearest tube/bus and definitely off the beaten track, as it is in amongst a housing estate more than among the high street shops and pub(s).
S. O.
Never fail to have a great time at this dive-bar. The juke box is free, with lots of rock & punk on offer. Darts & pool board are great. The biggest attraction in my opinion is the clientele; I consider myself a bit of a regular but aside from the barmen, I don't think I've ever met & spoken to the same people twice. Come for a brew and the unpretentious atmosphere!
j. k.
Their roast battle every friday is quite fun. And perfect for the ones who are low on budget. Just go and get yourself stamped an hour before and enjoy the show.
T. M.
This comedy venue has been set up and run by comedians, so they really love comedy. This means the venue has a unique atmosphere that is sure to please any live comedy fan. Well worth a visit.
A. D.
Excellent comedy club. Perfect for a spontaneous evening out.
R. E.
Very funny show, the people running it make you feel welcome. You’re up close to the acts so expect some good natured heckling from all sides. Great atmosphere.
M. L.
Good comedy club. Small place, very crowded very quickly so you do need to come early (first come first served).
T. B.
Cosy little comedy club, great atmosphere and a load of laughs. They do a lot of free shows with donations encouraged to keep everything afloat.
I was really apprehensive as I'm not a fan of stand-up, but found myself laughing non-stop and had a wonderful time. Will definitely be back soon!
V. D.
Went to see a preview comedy show by Robyn Perkins and I had a great evening . The venue is a nice size and so wherever you sit you are quite close to the stage. I would highly recommend this place.
A. M. A.
Bill Murray is a small, friendly pub that makes the most of every bit of space inside. From the garden to the stage, toilets included. You can spend hours drinking pints, chatting to their friendly staff or staring at all the funny little touches in every bit of wall. But most importantly, you can have a really good laugh at one of their standup shows. The free ones are absolutely fantastic! Exceeded each and every expectation I had. Coming back again for sure and very soob at that!
E. M.
Good atmosphere. Excellent performers. Well worth a visit. It's mainly people in their 20s and 30s but laughed as much as everyone else and we are in our 60s.
A. M.
Went here to see Joel Dommett preforming and it was brilliant. The atmosphere was great.
T. “. B.
One of my favourite comedy venue's in London with a great selection of drinks at the bar and air-con for those hot summer nights.
M. H.
Free jukebox, great range of beers and reasonable prices - it's pretty much everything you could ever want in a pub. The staff is also friendly and most importantly, not pushy.
Take your friends, take your dog (it's a dog friendly pub) and have fun.
r. M.
one of the best comedy venues in London without a shadow of a doubt. chance to see established superstars like Eddie Izzard and Frank Skinner in an intimate room at a reasonable price, or up and coming comedy stars of the future like Ali Woods, Kathryn Mather, Jacob Hawley and many more. Friendly staff and good place to socialise before and after the show.
F. B.
Great comedy place, small and intimate venue. Really enjoyed the experience. The pub drinks on the budget side but highly recommended for the comedy shows.
A. M.
I had an amazing time there last night. Barry who was the MC last night was really funny along with the all the comedians named Steven/Stephen who performed there last night. The drinks are reasonably priced here and the staff are very friendly.
M. F.
Great comedy venue, particularly on a Saturday night. Would recommend getting there early to ensure you get a spot. It’s free but you are asked to donate when you leave and it’s definitely worth donating to keep this great venue going!
D. W.
Saw James Veitch the other day. Absolutely top guy. His comedy's on point as always. This one was, just like David Hasselhoff's song Hot Shot City, particularly good. Keep it up James
J. Y.
Been here loads of times for great comedy nights. Actually a nice cosy little pub in its own right as well.
J. L.
Great comedy night, really intimate cosy venue!
A. M.
A brilliant venue which will be even better when done up with regular top notch comedy nights.
J. D.
Last Saturday I had a really nice time here, thank you. The atmosphere was excellent - we had a private booth where we could have fun without being bothered at all. The pub is excellent and everyone should visit it if they're in the area.
B. A. N.
Amazing comedy shows, relaxed and friendly vibe and you pay whatever you think the show worth.
L. C.
A great night of comedy on a Saturday night. Angel comedy was full so we were directed to the Bill Murray. The first show was also full but we managed to get into the second. Definitely worth the wait, a night of brilliant comedy, with a great atmosphere.
r. b.
Great place with a lot of heart and honesty, very friendly staff and very reasonably priced for a pub in Angel. Breath of fresh air from the hipsteration you find at most places in the area. Also frequented by very friendly people like the music students and staff of Alchemea College, who are always a fun bunch to say hello to. Free Jukebox. Plus they allow you to order in Pizza. Warmest crowd and staff in the area.

Very entertaining. We had four comedians. Some better than others, as they had material that was humour, without resorting to bad language and body parts, others were opposite and only used bad language and body parts, unfortunately these appeared to get the best laughs, pity really. Free to enter but money expected when you leave.
D. B.
Hidden gem of London. Warm friendly place and people and top top comedy club which is free. Dont be surprised to see big tv comedy stars performing just a few feet from you. Higly recommended.
J. R. K.
Brilliant! Great atmosphere, professional set up and it's free! Just make sure you're there in good time if you want to get in.
T. H.
Cute little spot in the backstreets of Angel with a small bar downstairs and an intimate room for stand up comedy. Good vibe full of locals who know it well and come back regularly.
C. M.
Amazing comedy venue! Super friendly staff, good value drinks and high quality ‘free’ comedy on a Friday (bring cash for pay what you can).
M. A.
Great place, great comedy. Highly recommend
L. J.
Great venue, owned by comedians, I've seen lots of shows recorded here for Next Up (streaming platform) and other great comedy producers.
M. K.
Only saw from outside, looks great
M. R.
Very nice comedy club. Great staff. Martin Maloney was very funny. I was a bit worse for wear so apologies if I offended anyone.
M. F.
Brilliant evening the best comedy club I've been to in ages
M. S.
Always quality comedy and a good crowd. And it's free! Would definitely recommend. Sign up for the newsletter and get inside scoop on any big names popping in.
A. G.
Good pub, excellent draught beers, good choice of whisky and nice atmosphere. Comedy club was okay - not bad considering it was free but enjoying hanging out in the pub more.
G. R.
Absolutely brilliant show with Konstantin, Frances, Andrew and, of course, Titania. Friendly and efficient service at the bar. Recommended.
A. V.
Super funny stand up! Friendly staff. We got in a bit late but they still found places for us to listen to 3 stand up comedy performers. Big ups!
M. T.
Terrific comedy. Fun bar. (Need to upgrade toilets stat!)
m.
Its a great little place. GO !
As an intimate Comedy venue perfect. No hustle to sell you tickets. Optional satisfaction payment scooped in the Bucket if you ennoyed yourself.
Michael Hayden.
F. A.
Great comedy venue. The MC was particularly great. Legendary acts come through here and its free! Check it out for sure
R. R.
Hilarious comedy with a decently priced bar. Their Monday nights were outstanding and I love the crowd that comes around here. Do bring cash to tip at the end
P. J.
Great comedy in a cosy, space. Nothing fancy, just a good night out.
C. A.
Comedy that every one will love! So good, very funny and at a price that will suit every pocket in London. Get here as soon as you can for the funniest night you'll have for the least price or a price you can afford.
K. S.
Fantastic place for comedy. Wonderful seeing WIP from great comedians. Their beer selection is pretty good and the staff are wonderful. Highly recommend the gigs here.
L. R.
One of the best comedy clubs I've ever been to! Great atmosphere, good jokes and donation-based entry fee.
V. M.
This is such a great find I almost don't want to say how good it is. Great opportunity to see big acts in an intimate venue. Seeing someone like Eddie Izzard test out new material within grabbing distance (I didn't, that would be weird) is quite incredible. Staff are lovely and super friendly. Think there's free comedy every night at 8pm. Check it out but don't tell anyone else, it can be our little secret.
J. H.
Fantastic pub ingrained with the character of landlord Angus. Free rock heavy jukebox and much charm. Tends to either be rammed or next to empty depending on the day of the week. A very welcoming place that draws an unpretentious crowd unlike other places in the area. Watch out for jaegerbombs!
A. R. B.
The Mucky Pup is something of a hidden gem, just tucked away from the hipster-thronged booze-lounges of Upper Street and Essex Road, the Pup is an unpretentious boozer, which maintains enough of a comfortable air and varied clientèle to make any time spent in there enjoyable. Split between two rooms, this relatively small pub can fill up on popular days, and be rather pleasantly quiet on others, allowing you to sit at a table with friends, enjoy a game of pool in the next room, or escape to the back area, where standing tables have been provided for the nicotine-inclined. The jukebox reknowned for its rock leanings, and the pub has regular musical events, from bands and DJs through to a film night. Well worth a visit, if you're in the Angel area, and fancy a pint without having to fight your way through braying idiots.
S. w.
My impressions - a grubby studentesque pub. Went to a comedy show here, it was pretty boring, but the room was so cramped that it would have been difficult to leave (thats a whole different review). A quaint pub in a quiet back street, ruffled around that edges if you like that sort of thing. Could do with a bit of a clean imo.
H. C.
Angel Comedy at the Bill Murrary - what a great way to spend an evening in London! Great comedians, wonderful emcee, and reasonably priced! The shows are free with a recommendation fee of about 10 pounds per guest. Well worth it!
B. P.
Nice pub. Stand Up comedy 7days a week! 😃👌
R. C.
The best comedy venue in London run by some great folks that really care about the love comedy experience.
B. Z.
Had great fun! The comedians were awesome and the drinks at the bar are not pricey by any means! Had an awesome night!

M. H.
Great laughs friendly staff and a cheap night out
L.
Had a great time here. Lovely cosy venue with a very friendly feel. Saw James Veichs work I'm progress. Drinks are mid price range.
M. D.
Lovely small pub, and great comedy club ! I bet it is so much better in the summer as they have a beer garden, but overall lovely, warm and friendly atmosphere.
G. H.
It's a bit dark and dingy when you first walk in, but you soon forget that. There is a good range of drinks with friendly staff. The walls are covered in famous faces and the upcoming gigs. We saw Ellie Taylor and she was great. The comedy space is intimate, air con'd (we were there in August) and great sound quality. Lovely lovely.
D.
Lovely little pub with very friendly staff and a fantastic comedy room as well. Would highly recommend to any comedy fan.
L. D.
Great comedy show with various comedians. Drinks are cheap. If the comedy show is free put some money in the pot at the end (it's expected)
C. M.
Great and intimate little comedy pub, has comedy area on one side and boozer on the other , good selection of beers and snacks and friendly service.
S. P.
I laughed more than I should for the whole length of the show. Highly recommended
C. H.
Free comedy night with great comics, lots of laughs. No complaints.
I. F.
Found this venue online and went on a whim. Terrific night with 6 tremendous acts (4th Feb 2017) including Masoud one of the best MCs I've seen in a longtime. A cosy and friendly environment. You dont have to see the comedy (which is free, by the way) you could just have a drink...but why would you!
G. D.
We had a great time here tonight! Amazing little bar, and the comedy was very funny! Thank you .
K. H.
A community comedy club?! What's not to love. Nice staff, reasonable beer costs, cracking intimate gig venue. I'd give it more stars if i could.
G. C.
Amazing show, super funny comedians, cheap bar and free entry. What more could you ask for!
N. V.
This place is a lot of fun. Quirky venue as well.
J. M.
Travelled over seas and walked round the corner from my cousins to this joint. Delighted to find Maria Shehata as a judge. Have listened to her on the unpops network before and found the show just as entertaining. Thankyou
J. E.

Great atmosphere but too cramped inside the venue. Won't stop me going though as it always has a brilliant line up at a good price.
T. M.
Awesome comedy venue. Really friendly, vibrant place.
M. C.
I love that place. Comedy gold. It's a small and cosey place. Friendly. Be weary it is popular, so get there early, if you want a spot.
T. M.
Okay acts, cosy venue. Could do with some structural refurb.
D. D.
One of the best comedy clubs in London. Great place to see new and established comics for a good price.
A. W.
Small venue that can definitely get crowded in the bar area if a bigger act is on. I was there for a touring act but no problem with the venue, with good beers for before the act (though expect usual London prices). My tip would be to head out into the beer courtyard even if not a smoker as it will be quieter if people are crossing the bar.
D. A.
Free to go in, great fun great laugh 😂 you have to book hour and half in person to see a show, well worth it though lol
L. M.
Small but pleasant, the same feedback I've received from past girlfriends
S.
Truly amazing. Drinks and comedy, what else could you ask for?
H. S.
Went to the roast battle and it was very funny. Nice little pub, much better than all the loud ones closer to the centre.
s. s.
Absolutely loved my time here! All the acts were hillarious, if im ever in london again I am for sure coming back.

H. R.
Good outside seating...small but friendly...did not check theatre...No food available ...just chips n nuts.
j. c.
Awesome comedy venue attracting some big name comics. Very friendly staff. Goid outside area.
Z. M.
Not comfortable but fun. Get to know your fellow punters as you pack like sardines in the pub, waiting to be released into the comedy space where there's not a lot more room, honestly. But it says something about the entertainment value when someone who refuses the tube because it's too crowded voluntarily submits to this kind of claustrophobia. Staff are really lovely.
Z. K.
Great comedy club! I highly recommend a visit! The show is free but please donate at least £10 for the guys!
M. S.
Iconic. This is the hip place to see comedy. And a lot of it is free! It's not big, it's not easy to find but it's worth it.
