Had afternoon tea here few days ago, the experience in general was okay but I wouldn’t say it was one of my top list for afternoon tea in London. The staff were nice and polite but we felt we were rushed. We should have an hour and a half but they put the bill on our table after one hour even that we didn’t ask for it and we’re still having our tea and that’s a mean reason why I give it 3 stars. The venue itself is very nice and the food was good but again nothing outstanding. Scones was delicious and warm but I found the brioche bread a bit dry and the meringue cake a bit messy. Tried different tea options which was nice that we can try different options but only like one of them. It was nice to try the afternoon tea in the palm court but I don’t think I will become a regular.

Beautiful place and beautiful afternoon!
We had to get a jacket and a tie in the last minute because of the strict dress code, and I’m glad we did as all the men in the room were wearing a jacket and a tie despite it being a very hot day!! My partner was sweating as the AC wasn’t that strong. I , on the other hand, enjoyed the warm temperature in my dress. :)
4 star only because the waitress came over and offered to pack our scones that we didn’t finish… but he didn’t realise my partner was saving the sandwiches for the last and took away our tray and threw away all the sandwiches 😱😱😱😱😱😭😭 it all happened so quickly - he took away our tray with no time for us to explain that we’ve been saving the sandwiches for the last and we want to eat them!! ( apparently they don’t allow sandwiches to be packed away). Well, my partner always leaves his favourite food for the last so I told him maybe in the future he should change the strategy after this happened. 😂
So tips for everyone: EAT the sandwiches first before they Chuck them away before you realise what’s happening! So 3 stars in memoir of our sandwiches- otherwise I would have given a 5.

One of the best afternoon tea in London, great service and lovely atmosphere.

Love this place.. my partner brought me here for drinks on our first date. Every now and then he brings me back.. Great service always and good cocktails!

Fantastic experience. Beautiful surroundings and atmosphere. Soft piano playing in the background. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was dainty but plentiful. Ladies restroom was beautiful with sofas table, real hand towels. Everything was perfect.

We enjoyed our first ever tea and champagne experience. It was lovely and worth the visit. The biscuits were delicious, the sandwiches very good., and the cakes so good.
C. N.
The restaurant was very busy and had a great vibe. Our waitress was really helpful advising us on the menu choices due to a dairy intolerance, ensuring the dishes served did not contain anything to upset my stomach. The prices are very reasonable here considering its location.
Would definitely go again if in the area.
M. R.
We went there for an afternoon tea. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the decor is beautiful. Good selection of teas and treats. Overall great experience, we really enjoyed it.
L. M.
A wonderful experience, with delicious sandwiches, scones, cakes, tea and champagne, all served by very polite and attentive waiters. All the staff we came into contact with at the hotel were friendly, polite and respectful
A. M.
A beautiful location. I expected exceptional customer service but instead felt like we were part of a process, sitting promptly at 3.30, we were taken to a table for 2 (we were 3), we were given the wrong tea each, all s bit of a rush and encouraged to finish up ready for the next sitting. Not quite the Ritz experience.
K. C.
Fantastic experience having high tea in the serene setting! The staff were all super friendly and the food was delicious. Was surprised at the variety and tastiness of the vegetarian champagne high tea option.
林.
Had a set of classic afternoon tea. Chose wild cherry for the tea and loved it. The sandwiches were amazing. Desserts with chocolate favors were a little bit too much for me.
P. F.
Lovely afternoon tea with bottomless bubbles. Great selection of sweet and savoury treats on offer. Beautiful setting, great ambience.
T. P.
The service was a miss, charming, but everything took too long but management did address this. Sandwiches were also too cold with dry bread. Scones and pastries were, however, nailed to a high level. The setting is lovely.
K. D.
Fabulous Afternoon Tea (as you'd expect), service great ), tea delightful and I'd definitely recommend for the experience. If you're only in London for a short time though and can only do 1 tea, I'd suggest Fortnum and Mason instead.
D. M.
As Afternoon Teas go, this place was perfect. Really reasonably priced with delicious food, teas and staff that went above to beyond - special shout out to Claire for making it a really special birthdays
S. M.
A totally unforgettable experience, everything about this visit was amazing
L. L.
We very much enjoyed our afternoon tea at the Palm Court! The service was fantastic and it was very informative. We had both the classic and vegetarian options and all the finger sandwiches were delicious. I highly recommend this place for afternoon tea and get the free flowing bubbles if you are in the mood!
A. A.
Wonderful high tea. Great teas, fresh scones, luscious pastries, decadent clotted cream, and that chicken sandwich is a winner.
J. A.
Beautiful place and overall good afternoon tea. The service a little rushed.

Impeccable service and food. We had afternoon tea and champers as my wife got a birthday gift from her friends and were not disappointed. Has to be the ultimate in London for this type of experience. The entire Ritz Hotel just has effortless old world charm and class.
M. B.
The best afternoon tea I have ever been to. The staff are very attentive, polite and delicate with the presentation and delivery of your food.
My friend and I received a voucher for the classic afternoon tea so we booked it for a weekday, evening time slot, which was the best decision we made as atmosphere was magical. Dimmed lights and candles made us feel cosy and secluded from other surrounding tables. They also had live musicians performing piano pieces, accompanied by a talented singer.
It began with us selecting our desired teas, followed by a tray with delicious food items. As soon as you are finished with the plate, staff come around and ask if you wish to have more. The experience ended with staff coming out with bigger desserts, such as lemon cake slices. At no point did we feel rushed with our experience and we truly had a wonderful time.
T. A.
Very pretty place for our afternoon tea. Splendid service & yummy food.

We had our celebratory lunch there with my family and the ambiance was great and service from Ruziel was excellent! She made great recommendations from the menu and was very hands on. She’s an asset to the place. The food was good, not a lot of choices but it was decent. Will come back again!

Lovely afternoon tea. I would definitely reccomend. Staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble.

5 ⭐ experience! I was bought afternoon tea gift experience for my birthday last December and we finally got round to using it. It was absolutely amazing. Staff were attentive and could not do enough for us, the setting was stunning, walking in to the iconic Palm Court felt a little surreal. As for the food, it was simply delicious, the sandwiches were lovely, the Egg mayonnaise on Brioche was my favourite. The selection of cakes, each exquisitely made, were beautiful. The scones were scrumptious with jam and clotted cream. Thoroughly enjoyed by my husband, our daughter and myself. If you get the chance to go we would highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
J. W.
The Ritz is class personified. A truly unforgettable experience having Afternoon Tea here. The staff were exceptional....and of course the food!!
B. E.
Afternoon tea at The Ritz is everything it should be. Try the house champagne, and do remember to save space for the scones!
R. A. (. j.
The best afternoon tea , perfect, really good atmosphere with everyone dressed smartly makes it feel special as it should.
A. K.
The bubbly was tasty, the waitstaff attentive, the pastries and scones fluffy and flavorful, the tea selection interesting, the decor elegant, and the harpist pleasant to listen to. Exactly what we wanted from afternoon tea. Not cheap, but worth it for a treat.
C. J.
Afternoon tea was lovely, extra sandwiches if you want them and endless tea of which there was a big selection. Attentive waiters as you would expect and lovely surroundings. Catered for all dietary requirements.
S. G.
Lovely experience
Lovely building
Very polite & welcoming doorman
V. j.
Just wonderful. The staff are top tier so professional. They make it truly special.
K. M.
t was very disappointing, sadly! It wasn't the quality, the quality was good, but the selection! I was expecting so much more than this, 3 desserts?! Really? I don't go to the Ritz for the sandwiches, or scones, I wanted show off patisserie, and all you get is 3 choices, none of them blew my mind either, I have eaten so much better in a simple french patisseries! and for 57pounds, sounds like a 'never again'.

My friend and I really loved the Lock & Co. themed afternoon tea in the Palm Court. The food and pastries were exquisite and crafted beautifully! Moreover they tasted divine! I am a vegetarian and the food was wonderful. I was in heaven! The staff were welcoming and charming. The choice of teas was extensive. I had the Jasmine Pearls and I thought it was delicious. The art deco decor is so gorgeous and the downstairs powder room is equally as stunning. The harpist added a dreamy atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place for a perfect afternoon to be thoroughly spoiled.
M. B.
A marvelous experience! If you enjoy afternoon tea, this is a place you must visit.
We booked our table for Traditional Afternoon Tea at 19:30 and the atmosphere was wonderful. The tables had candles and ceiling lights were dimmed, whichs added a private and cosy feeling. There was a live music played by the pianist, violin and an amazing singer.
The staff are excellent in everything they do. They always make sure you have tea in your cup and food on your table. As soon as the plate is empty, you get offered a top up.
Later in the evening, a tray of complimentary desserts and cakes was offered to us.
J. M.
After visiting the Palm Court in the summer for their Hat partnership, I was very keen to try the new 1920s inspired afternoon tea. The whole experience exceeded my expectations, and it has officially become my new favourite afternoon tea destination in London!
Ravi and Mahmut took such great care of me as soon as I entered the venue. A live harpist played the smoothest music as we drank free-flowing Perrier Jouet champagne - our glass was never left empty.
The Waldorf salad (in a delicious brioche bun), lemon curd scones and Strawberry & Champagne opera cake are absolute heroes. The whole experience was unforgettable - thank you to the staff and chefs involved in creating my best afternoon tea yet.
The only place to have Afternoon Tea in London!
S. G.
Afternoon tea at the Ritz London, nothing more to say
R. L.
Gorgeous setting with lovely pianist in place to entertain and soothe you while you have aftetnoon tea and hopefully champagne. Afternoon tea is up there with the best of them but the settings beat all of them hands down! Everything is meticulously presented and delicious. I'd recommend over any of the cream teas I've had in London, particularly over the more modern ones i.e. the Sanderson which for some reason is reviewed really well.
M. G.
As you might expect for the price (£58 per head), it should be good - and it was. Prompt but not rushed service, and all options available as gluten-free, so I didn't feel like a second-hand citizen. Gluten-free breads fine; but gf scones very good. Recommended if you want the classic English tea experience - need to book well in advance.
M. S.
It is amazing hotel. 7 of us( mothers socialising since we met through our kids being in same primary school) went for posh afternoon tea with unlimited prosecco...it was lovely, but we do get overtaken by wealthy ppl and that reflects on the service. Our waiter dissapeared for at least 20 min at the time...smooth operator.....If guests are paying for 5* experience, give it to them regardless their wealth status...
Would I go there again? Yes, but only with wealthy friend 😁
P. D.
Best place for afternoon tea. Service was excellent, everyone very attentive. The food was delicious and plenty of it. Even give a box of left over cakes.
M. P.
Decent room, service was attentive. Sandwiches seemed like a Tesco meal deal, sweet options were beautiful to be fair. Tea was fine. Was my first time and I was a bit disappointed considering the idea I had about the Ritz for High Tea with my Girlfriend and for the price we would go this one time as a treat.
I. B.
I had been there a couple of years ago, pre-revamp, my the new design and setup is spectacular. The staff are wonderful, and the harpist at afternoon tea is excellent - setting a most elegant and relaxing atmosphere.
L. B.
Really really great high tea, especially with bottomless bubbles. Class service and great food
J. H.
Little smaller than expected. Great yea and a fabulous experience
N. A.
Wow incredible Ritz afternoon tea. Beautiful setting, great food and location and amazing staff. Highly recommended and great prices
S. F.
This was an amazing venue for a sumptuous Art Deco afternoon tea, for our 1920s hen do. There were 10 of us in total and we left like we were centre stage. The surroundings were utterly beautiful, the harpist was amazing, and the staff were so friendly and attentive, happy to supply us with more sandwiches, cakes, and tea if desired. It was perfect.

This is rated one of the best High Teas in London, probably due to the quality, the quantity and the variety of the menu. You should normally avoid a heavy breakfast if you are planning to have such an experience, with excellent sweet and savoury delicacies. An area of improvement is probably service, which can be variably effective despite the luxury setting.
M. B.
Hard to think of anything bad to say about the magnificent tea they lay on here. A real treat from start to finish. Loved the delicious cakes, scones and sandwiches washed down by interesting teas and bubbly. The team are super attentive. Worth the trip to town.
W. H. L.
I came here in 2011 for the Valentines afternoon tea with my girlfriend. The service was faultless: attentive yet uninstrusive to our dining experience. In addition to our afternoon tea set we were given complimentary cakes and a rose.
The tea selection was extensive and the silverneedle is a definite must for first timers. I'm a huge jam fan and the gooseberry jam they served did not disappoint!
S. C.
You will not regret coming here for afternoon tea. Staff can't do enough for you, food is fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.
K. M.
Absolutely lovely, the surroundings and service is second to none and the flowers are amazing. The food...we've had better, meager fillings in the sandwiches but plentiful offerings but pricey. Wouldn't have missed it for the world as a one off.
D. R.
Fabulous time once again. Service and food exemplary. Can't wait to visit again very soon.
P. W.
Went here the other day and it was excellent. The service was excellent, very attentive. The food and drinks were great and the atmosphere was just what you'd want from an afternoon tea.
A. O.
Lovely food with impeccable service. The powder room was perfectly clean. I particularly enjoyed the piano music and range of teas on offer.
I. D.
A treat for our holidays.

Its the Ritz, whats not to love? Attentive, polite and professional staff, outstanding quality of food and beautiful surroundings. Will most definitely return.
S. T.
A brilliant afternoon tea so many different sandwiches and cakes and two scones one plain one fruit endless teas to choose from staff on the ball expected nothing less from the RITZ a afternoon we will not forget
M. S.
Great cocktails! Lovely interior!
S. R.
Simply beautiful here and beautiful tea and cakes . Stunning surroundings. Service was excellent.
S. L.
This has to be one of the best afternoon teas in London. The service was amazing as are the loos. The spread was great and the catered to allergies and dietary requirements well. Just make sure you are dressed for the occasion as you might get turned away- we saw it happen.
G. H.
Wonderful experience thoroughly recommended visited the Ritz for their famous champagne afternoon tea which will exceed most expectations.
L. D.
This place is amazing. Like stepping back in time. Exceptional service and friendly staff. Would love to come again
G. W.
A wonderful venue for afternoon tea, served very quickly, delicious food in a very congenial atmosphere.
H. R.
Delightful. Been twice this year. Was quite warm inside but it was a hot day. There is so much food that we ended up taking the birthday cake home. It was a sublime raspberry cake.
S. I.
I had a voucher to use here. Due to Covid it expired but had absolutely no issues extending and using it. Second time I've been for afternoon tea. Highly recommended. Staff are fantastic.
L. G.
Absolutely amazing. The food, the service, the setting. Not cheap but you get what you pay for, first class.
M. E.
Champagne tea yesterday afternoon was an amazing experience.
One special needs member of our party was served 'lemonade' in a Champagne flute which was such a lovely thoughtful touch.
L. B.
Very nice afternoon tea. Well oiled machine and friendly staff. Touristy but nice.
M. B.
Great place for afternoon tea. beautiful setting and excellent service

Superb, fabulous, Romantic surroundings. Top class service. Delicious, exquisite food & drink.

Loved it brilliant day out. Staff were awesome tea and food scrumptious

Exquisite......both food and surroundings. Sebastian, our waiter was wonderful and made us feel very special. Thank you.
S. B.
We had a delightful afternoon tea. The selection was well presented and very tasty. Our waiter Mauro was very attentive, kind and enhanced our experience even more. Thank you for a memorable evening.

The perfect afternoon tea. Great staff and service!
B. W.
I had the pleasure of experiencing a delightful afternoon tea here. Everything- tea, sandwiches, scones, pastries- was excellent. Amazing place to have tea!
A. G.
Best afternoon tea with sparkling wine I have ever had so far.
M. T.
Delightful Afternoon Tea time we had at The Ritz. Very fancy location, pleasant environment. Delicious scones, tea, and cakes. Very nice food quality. Will definitely come back.
S. E.
Swanky venue for afternoon tea although it feels a bit less formal since you sit on couches & armchairs. Impeccable service, unique jams and curds for the scones, and decadent desserts.
B. D.
Had a great time it was a surprise for my daughter who birthday it was everybody at the palm court were fantastic i really recommend excellent
A. G.
Absolutely prefect, in every way. By far the best High Tea we have ever had, and probably ever will. The service was top notch, the servers took time to explain and recommend certain teas that we would like (great recommendations by the way). The food was beautiful in every sense - who knew sandwiches could possibly taste that good. But it was the scones that really blew my mind, the texture and flavours were just exquisite. It was expensive but so totally worth it. I would do it again or recommend it in a heartbeat. The piano player was lovely, we chatted away to him for a while and he played a couple of songs my wife requested, he was a Malaysian, as is my wife, and once she found out they had a little sing along to some Malaysia folk songs, so cute.
The original is the best!
Only thing that got me was the dress code is somewhat skewed, men have to have a suit and tie (yes a tie) but ladies can wear almost anything, there were a couple that had sports shoes on... I would have been turned away if I missed the tie but there's no checks on them, a bit unfair I say.
J. Y.
Wonderful afternoon tea. Beautiful surroundings. Top class staff. You are surrounded in elegance and glamour.
D. L.
We went for Celebration Tea for my wife's birthday. Beautiful property, attentive staff and excellent service. And of course amazing tea, cakes and scones.
D. T.
Everything you would expect from a fine traditional experience in a world class hotel. The delicious sandwiches and cakes were only eclipsed by the elegant surrounding and highly professional staff. Special mention to the concierge who helped my 80 year old mother meet the dress code and gain admittance. Thank you.
D. B.
Amazing experience. If you want super-stylie afternoon tea and really lovely nibbles, then this really is a fantastic option.
R. D.
Excellent afternoon tea at the ritz jotel
A. H.
Fingure sadwiches were awsome and a lot. Pastries and skones were very good. Refill is always at hand if you want more. Enviroment was very good, especially with harp music. Just remember that they have a dress code.
A. C.
Very good afternoon tea and friendly service. Great 1920s ambience although the music was out of sync with decor.
v. w.
Regardless of who you are or where you come, Afternoon Tea at The Ritz is the ultimate treat. It's my most favourite place and I'm looking forward to my 7th visit later this year. From the moment you step through the door you are made to feel special and will get swept away by the ambience and opulence. Palm Court is the perfect setting for celebrating all of lifes big events. Facing the pianist, you are treated to beautiful music and he kindly takes requests. You are spoilt for choice with teas, the most delicious sandwiches you'll ever eat before indulging in decadent cakes and scones. An additional cake trolley also makes the rounds and you can eat until you can take no more. Word to the wise...don't eat before hand and don't plan to do anything else afterwards except get comfy and vegatate. A truly magnificent place to experience
D. K.
Overpriced. I appreciate the interior, but the teas and coffees taste as if they are made at a petrol station.
J. D.
Lovely way to start 2020 with friends and family. Impeccable service, tasty food and perfect ambience.
O. D.
We were staying in Sheraton London. The restaurant is located in the hotel and we visited it for the traditional English afternoon tea.
The setting is very impressive in the Art Deco style. The afternoon tea is quite expensive and, unlike other places, snacks and desserts are offered not in a cage, but in a hat box, which is slightly disappointing.
S.
Very good tea, highly recommend to anyone who wants good and tasty tea and talk with some friends.
r. j.
Outrageously brilliant. War a place to celebrate an occasion. Or impress your partner. Or a proposal. Service was amazing and the tea was delicate and beautifully presented. Blown away! God venue for after a theatre matinee.
J. T.
Only 3 stars as the name is the draw. However it loses 2 stars because you feel like you're on a conveyor belt...in then out. The sitting time isn't enough for you to really enjoy the experience as you will be rushed out after a certain time. They clear all tables at the same time ready for the next round of conveyor belt customers. The tea and cakes are nice. However, all in all...it's a bit of a rip off. Just saying ya know?
G. E.
Crem de la crem, the top place for afternoon tea. Excellent service and food
D. H.
We visited the Palm Court for a traditional afternoon tea and the Ritz staff were amazing. If you finished your cakes they brought you more, sandwiches gone they brought you more, and they kept refreshing the tea throughout the time we were there.
I only wish we could come back again soon, but that's only because I don't live in London.
L. T.
Lovely afternoon tea good selection of sandwiches and cakes
J. R.
Very nice place but felt waiters were a bit snooty as I was on my own. Felt more comfortable at The Dorchester x
S. C.
The refurb has lost some of yhe gorgeous faded splendour of the Palm Court. Quality of afternoon tea and standards of service have slso dropped
K. P.
Stunning. Just what youd expect, our whole experience was seamless. Would recommend
L.
I wouldn't fault the decor, ambience or service. The tea and sandwiches are excellent. We were offered fresh pots of tea. If you get close to finishing the sandwiches another plate appears spontaneously.
The cakes are average and the scones are very poor. The scones were warm, but soft and spongy like bread rather than crumbly like cake.
Unfortunately the scones are my favourite part of tea.
I did mention the scones to our waiter just to check if ours were a one off but it seems that is the way they make them, so fair enough.
I will go back to the Hilton on Park Lane for my next Tea, the cakes and scones are exceptional, though the surroundings and service are no where near the Ritz. Anyway we had a very nice time.
k. m.
The Ritz hotel , afternoon tea party. Wonderful food and variety of teas. Cakes and hot scones jam clotted cream. 😋😋👍
H. B.
Afternoon tea: Food was good but not exceptional. Average service, and quantity of food was way too little compared to those offered in hotels of the same standard.
P. M.
Highly over rated though.Very cramped place. Not much place at all between tables. Settings two hours only and are rushed..u only go there and pay as its Ritz..I hav had best afternoon tea at Burj al Arab Dubai..Ritz can learn from them
A. G.
Server were great, Loved the foods and perfect place to experience for British afternoon tea
S. M.
The best afternoon tea in Edinburgh. There is no place like it.
A. V.
Always love it here! You can't go wrong at the Ritz
B. M.
Always amazing to have High Tea within Palm Court. Atmosphere is beautiful and the waiters are extremely attentive! Worth the experience!
h.
The height of quality service and elegance. Ridiculously expensive but worth doing once in your life.
J. K.
Took my wife for her 60 birthday. Truly amazing
K. L.
My favorite place to got for afternoon tea / high tea. It has everything you need for an enjoyable experience.
J. D.
Lovely ambiance and decor. Their afternoon tea starts at £50 per person with unlimited refills (however, they do not allow you to take home leftovers). I loved their tea selection but their sandwiches and scones could improve. Still had a lovely time and highly recommend for amazing photos or for a good time with your girlfriends.
P.S. they have a beautiful loo ;)
T. C.
Afternoon tea at the Ritz should be on your bucket list. It's a very grand and lavish but cosy at the same time. The food was of the highest quality as you would expect for the prices your paying and I didn't know that they had that many types of tea in the world. Dress appropriately or you will not even get in the door. It's also brilliant for people watching. I was seated near an elderly lady who had so many diamonds and Jewel's on her she looked like a Christmas tree got sick on her but she seemed very pleasant. I couldn't give it less than five stars.
M. G.
Out of this world experience everything absolutely divine about this place
P. N.
Traditional venue. A pleasant afternoon
with a variety of finger sandwiches,
cakes and scones. Silver service with pianist. A lovely experience.
J. B.
The best afternoon tea in the world.
M. S.
Too popular to be comfortable. The service and food are top notch though.
L. M.
Had a wonderfull high tea something real special
G. Y.
We arrived at 2pm as we had lunch arranged for 2:15pm. Have to walk past the area to the left where Afternoon Tea is served, and my two main impressions were, how busy it was, and how utterly English and stylish it looked. Even after we'd finished our lunch about two hours later, it was still just as busy. There's just something beautifully British about Afternoon Tea, and the Ritz clearly know how to do it extremely well.
A. B. (.
Afternoon Thea in London? This is the place you want to come to...with a good selection of tea and a impeccable service it is the best experience I had so far. Very good value for money considering place and what you get compare to many other places who can only aspire at this 5* experience, The standards here are kept high and customers here are required to dress smart (jacket and tie no jeans) and this is one of the main reason why I love so much coming here. No fancy smart people but The good people in London, The well mannered, classy and trully successful crowd.
C. B.
Excellent service . Lovely surroundings and atmosphere...pleased it was a gifted afternoon tea and I wasn't paying though .
N.
Top notch service, great afternoon tea and beautiful surroundings. Made to feel very special
j. s.
Had a lovely afternoon tea there
H. B.
Beautiful surroundings, serene live harp music and delicious sandwiches, cakes and tea!

The place you have to bring friend if she visit you in London. Pink and gold even the loo is cute as well .

Tea @ the Ritz
M. D.
Excellent service and great meal.

I have had many afternoon teas in London and this one was my second least favorite. The room is dated, it felt like being in an old version of The Palm Court at The Plaza hotel in NYC.
My teacup was chipped! The Maitre D kindly apologized with a complimentary glass of champagne.
I was underwhelmed by the quality of the sandwiches.
The lack of atmosphere and touristy crowed took away from a traditional afternoon tea experience.
M. S.
I’ve been here twice now once for an afternoon tea with my husband and second time with a group of 7 women as a baby shower. It is a definitely a better experience with a small group as the experience is more enjoyable. The larger group we had some dietary requirements - majority of the group was vegetarian the sandwich selection was mainly meat. It also felt really rushed and a production line just felt the staff wanted us to leave after 90 mins to prep for the next seating for that claridges is better as you don’t feel rushed. Apart from that both experience service and food quality is exceptional. The choice of sandwiches is great. The cake trolley is my favourite. The decor is magnificent!
L. K.
Service good as expected, the only disappointment were the cakes , scones were appalling , clearly bought in frozen and barely a sultana in them , I have been before and the cakes were much nicer maybe their cutting corners ..really need to raise their game at that price.
J. N.
A wonderful experience to have an afternoon tea at the Ritz. The dazzling venue and live classic music create a cinematography and sophisticated atmosphere, combined with the very friendly and gentle staff serving the delicious tea, sandwiches and sweets.
D. C.
Very nice experience and would recommend.
K. C.
It's a beautiful environment, however we ordered a vegetarian meal for my dad, and they served us cucumber sandwiches, with the price and the prestige of the ritz I expected more. Additionally I felt as though they really were rushing us, I understand they need to make the tables available for other guests, but they could of done it in a less abrupt way. Overall it's worth a visit, but if your looking for high tea In London the Savoy is much better
B. G. (. W. P.
Beautiful, lovely and delicious. But, don't forget a tie.
H. F.
Amazing afternoon tea experience
K. F.
Beautiful atmosphere lovely staff ☺

5 star service and amazing staff.

The Ritz is all about their afternoon tea felt like a number rather than a guest
C. J.
Great place for afternoon tea
V. L.
Overall, excellent Afternoon Tea for several reasons.
1) Staff is very friendly - we've been to a wide variety of London restaurants and we found that a lot of their servers and hosts are very condescending and very strict on dress code. My husband and I were visiting London so our attire for the day is usually smart casual - buttoned shirt but occasionally with sneakers (not runners). The staff did not comment on our attire and pleasantly greeted us and led us to our table
2) Excellent finger sandwiches - you might expect afternoon tea places to have the usual smoked salmon, egg salad, ham sandwiches, but The Langham elevates these basic sandwich flavours - for the egg salad they added artichoke hearts, for the deli sandwich they actually had a play on corned ham/reuban sandwich
3) petits four/small desserts on the top tier - well crafted at a high level; excellent patisserie - though I would say it is a little on the sweet side, I would still recommend trying it; anyone who likes cute presentations would love it! - very photo worthy!
4) we also got to experience live piano music - the performer was very accommodating and when we requested to hear a song from the Wicked broadway (gravity), he was able to pull up the sheet music and play it with great style!
Price is quite costly - 50 pounds - but quite worth a try if you've had afternoon tea before and just looking for something more special!

Had a beautiful experience for my mums 50th birthday. The harpist played happy birthday as they brought a decadent cake out after our afternoon tea. The tea is delicious and the food is really filling. An experience everyone should have. Love a good occasion to dress up.

Having recently had a fabulous tea at the Palm Court Hotel for around the same price, my wife and I were very disappointed with tea at the Ritz. It was more formulaic, more sparse and more hurried. Finger sandwiches came in sets of 6 with different fillings, whereas one can choose individual sandwiches at the Palm Court. Scones were OK but when I asked for more, I was brought more scones but no more cream and jam. I could have asked for more, but that should not have been necessary. We were given 5 cakes between us as the initial ration and they were nothing special. At the Palm Court we were given 6 very individual cakes each. The waiters were friendly and efficient but hurried; at the Palm Court we were allowed to take our time and made to feel that the occasion was special. At the Ritz we felt a bit like we were on a conveyor belt. They even brought us the bill without being asked - their way of saying "We need your table now"!

Just ok tbh the cakes and food . Service was fine .... not much to report

You get what you pay for here, the experience and service. Only do it once in a blue moon, but it's really worth it.

Lovely tea selection!

Despite the letter insisting on dress code, i.e. men to wear smart trousers, jacket, shirt and tie. No jeans, trainers and ladies to wear smart attire. We were disappointed to see men and women in jeans and trainers, no tie, jackets etc. and to be perfectly honest women quite scruffy. Despite this we had a wonderful experience, but you need to tighten up on dress code.

Amazing Experience, everyone should go at least once

I attended the Plam Court for dinner fairly recently and the food and service was exceptional and am attending again very soon.

Gorgeous champagne high tea

The waiters knew the routine (took photos, had the 'patter' etc) but it didn't feel either special or personal. The scones were pappy in the middle (mum asked for them to cooked a little more) There was no choice of sandwiches; they had set fillings - several were off limits if you don't like mayonnaise. Despite the 'dress code' we were sent, there were a lot of scruffy patrons.

Not quite the service you would expect but lively nevertheless.

(Translated) The Ritz London Afternoon Tea
📍150 Piccadilly, London W1J 9BR, United Kingdom
You must go to Ritz for afternoon tea in London. From the beginning of the reception at the door, you are very heart-warming. Tell me with a fluent English accent, enjoy your afternoon tea, which gives Ritz a lot of points!
After walking in, Ritz's luxurious and elegant pavement came, the whole decoration style is Louis XVI style, once known as the masterpiece of the times. Afternoon tea is hard to find. Even in this situation, there are not many tourists and there are no empty seats. Many British people are well-dressed and come to have an English afternoon tea and feel a leisurely afternoon.
From the very delicate sandwiches at the beginning, to the freshly baked scones, to the beautiful and delicious desserts, accompanied by a bottle of champagne and 18 different teas, the whole afternoon tea experience is very good.
The chandeliers and elegant mirrors of Palm Court also make the whole atmosphere more elegant. If you come at a coincidental time, you can still hear the music ensemble of professional pianists and harpists. It would be nice to spend the weekend here.

Palm Court

(Translated) The dress code is also solid, is it exactly like Ritz? In a sense, it would be a sightseeing for the countryside people around the world, including me, to make tea in accordance with the rules.
Unlike afternoon tea at a hotel in Tokyo, you can freely change anything.
If you want scones, you can replace them, and if you want more clotte cream, bring them.
Reservations are mandatory and it is recommended that you book as soon as you have your travel schedule.

(Translated) Our experience at the Palm Court (Ritz Afternoon Tea) was great, we had some setbacks but it was quickly resolved by Jackson which made the evening unforgettable!
One important thing I have not read about anywhere is that it is necessary to prepay when the group is very large, in my case that there were 7 people, I had to pay in advance.

(Translated) When I enter the tea room and get in, I am relieved to say anything comfortable. . . Prior to the solo performance of the piano was beginning.
Is there food allergy first? He asked me. Then I ask for your favorite tea, teapot and cake stand are brought and will explain the dish. All the sandwiches were luxurious and finished in a complex taste.
It was fun to think while tasting what was in it. All of the cakes are beautiful, so you can enjoy a variety of tastes, so you will not get bored. Supplies turn around and change around the guest's table and pour the tea, do you agree with your mouth? What country are you from? They talk to me with a smile.
The scones I was looking forward brought me freshly baked freshly baked fish. It is luxurious.
When you saw it, the waitresses carried many candles. And the piano song turned into a happy birthday. Today was the guest 's birthday. When this performance ended, guests in the tea room became one and applauded! We celebrated with multinational people.
Well, are you going to be full of stomach soon? I think that the cake wagon is brought first to our table and you have your favorite cake!
Oh wait for me (haha)
The part that I could not finish was put in a box for takeaway. happy! What a wonderful person!
Well, take home to the hotel and open the box, do not you have plenty of scones and cakes! Thinking, I am smiling. And thank you for today. And I got an e - mail.
Thank you for the nice servants. A
Also, thank you for taking a lot of pictures.

(Translated) It's tea time.
The tradition of wearing a jacket and tie continues to this day. Anyone who doesn't have anything with gets borrowed everything. Without it, you can't go to the table. Great to see them dressing everyone up in the dedicated bathroom.
Once you've done that, you can expect an incredibly great tea time experience.
Snacks are always handed in later. Great champagne and rooibos tea is served.
When it gets cozy, the request comes after 1.5 hours to finish slowly. The slight feeling of mass processing arises.
Conclusion: just do it, because it's great.

It’s Tea-Time.
