Reviews of The Questors Theatre
s. l.
Local theatre always has a nice atmosphere good priced drinks in the grapevine and lovely volunteers. Plays are sometimes a bit random but so cheap and well produced and acted. Never seen a bad thing here. They are still socially distancing the seats and the toilets (which means you are queuing needlessly) hopefully they will stop that soon.
d. s.
I love Questors Theatre, it is friendly and welcoming and has so much to offer. As a Charity that is run by volunteers it is incredible the amount of work that goes in to each performance. With shows that stretch from pantos to comedies and plays with serious adult themes.
There are wonderful sets, costumes and performances and the chance to take part in classes for children and adults.
So, if you just want to see a reasonably priced play, volunteer or become a member, come along and take a look.
P. S.
A good expansive stage that plays forward (thrust style stage) giving the audience different viewing options of a production.
Great sound to the room and all in all an very good experience.
Seating over time can be uncomfortable for long productions.
The bar is run very well and is priced perfectly.
Quite a few stairs for people that may cause some an issue.
D. N.
Superb place that I just love to bits.
Great acting and a lovely audience.
The little Studio theatre downstairs is an absolute gem where you are actually next to the production and consequently it lives long in the memory. Everyone needs to try this kind of production at least once or twice as it's utterly unique.
M. M.
Lovely local high quality non professional dramas. Good price, cheap bar....so lucky yo have this close by. So good to be back to live theatre.
K. A.
Difficult to find, but box office staff gave clear directions over the phone. Once there, staff were welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxed and relaxing. Performance space gives good views from almost anywhere. Bar area good for post performance discussions. I would definitely attend future events, now I know where it is. On street parking available
D. G.
Great local small theatre occupying a space between am-dram and mainstream. Quality of acting tends to be very high and the size means you get to see performances close up in a way you wouldn't in the West end, especially in the very small studio theatre sitting aside to the main auditorium. Nice bar and cafe for the interval.
W. O.
The best community theatre in London. If you don't know it you must try it. Theatre folk will love it. Great little bar, often quiet, gets busy on show nights. Check it out.
W. P.
Very amateur theatre with drama lessons with a wide age difference.
Very good architecture with a area to sit outside and wait for productions.
Great customer service from the ticket booth.
There wasn’t much leg room when seated.
The performances were spectacular for the youth productions and up to standard for the adult productions.
The bar is strangely nostalgic and very crowded but it adds to the buzz you receive after watching one of their productions.
In summary, customer service is great, seating is relatively cramped, performances are done well, the after-show bar atmosphere and architecture is done well.
M. L.
Lovely staff, lovely venue! Really liked the cosy bar area

Lovely quaint theatre. I was very surprised in the bar area, people weren't wearing any masks considering Covid is still quite prevalent.
A. N.
Had gone to see a play for kids.
Loved the whole setup and the arrangements.
We had gone a few minutes late. The guy outside spoke to the person inside to let us in so that we don't disturb the entire crowd.
The seating arrangements were well spaced and they kept to covid regulations.
Definitely have to go atleast once to see the plays here.
Kudos to all the actors!
J. S. H.
Great little theatre with a lovely bar area. Saw a great production of The Ghost Train.
N.
Great performances and a local asset which needs to be supported.
T. B.
As well as producing a mixture of mainstream and more challenging productions Questors promotes local artists in its exceptionally good value bar , The Grapevine - I've had 3 exhibitions of photos myself!
M. H.
A great amateur theatre with a lovely bar attached.
W. C.
A great theatre. Two stages inside with a cafe area plus a very welcoming pub. The staff are friendly, very efficient and do a great job in running this theatre.
M. P.
Fantastic theatre and a great bar

I’m very grateful we have such a wonderful theatre so close to where we live. On Friday I watched Private Lives and was in stitches the whole way through! All the performances I’ve seen here have been thoroughly enjoyable and there is a real sense of community when you visit. The theatre itself is modern with comfortable seats - all of which offer an excellent view of the performance. Looking forward to my next visit!
O. G.
I went for my daughter's dance show here. It's a really nice, quite large theatre. Lighting is good, comfy seats, easy entrance and best of all nice location. It's next to a beautiful park near Ealing Broadway so get there early and have a look around the area! 😁
A. P.
Nearly passed by this place it's near Walpole Park and it had an exhibition on. The Questions Theatre is the largest amateur theatre in the UK and possibly Europe. We were given a very informative welcome which made us want to see inside this place. Do visit, it's absolutely fascinating. Besides it's great history there is a really friendly and welcoming staff The exhibition showed everything from costumes used in plays, photographs, small miniature models of theatres. Art and artefacts associated with theatre were there. Above all do visit the bar. Very friendly chap who is very welcoming. The theatre is very functional and there are refreshments too. Some paid parking opposite the building is available along with disabled bays. This was one of the best off spec visits l have done. I will certainly go back to see a play sometime and l shall be able to tell my friend Allan who lives in Ealing that this place exists for those interested in the theatre and arts.
D. L.
Amateur theatre with near professional standards; both the building and the performances. Looking forward to their getting going again after the lockdown.
G. H.
Lovely place, real sense of community and very welcoming.
C. D.
I've been involved with this theatre for years now, and can't see myself leaving any time soon; even though I live quite far away! The theatre has amazing facilities - a studio space, the Judi Dench Playhouse and also several rehearsal spaces. There's a cafe upstairs and an extremely nicely-priced bar downstairs. The people are all welcoming and friendly. The theatre also runs several educational courses for different ages, abilities and time commitments. Can't recommend it highly enough.
G. Y.
Great performanc! My 10 year old twins and I really enjoyed the set, Hairspray is one of my all time faves🤩. Nice atmosphere and lovely helpful staff. Would recommend
P. S.
Very good amateur theatre with plays round the year. Their Christmas Panto is a very celebrated affair across the community. The youth theatre classes are quite engaging for the kids and provides a natural progression to the stage for budding actors.
J. C.
Questors is the best. Wide and varied range of ambitious and high quality productions. They always make sure you enjoy your visit and your entire night will be less than a round of drinks in the West End. We're incredibly lucky to have this in our community.
d. w.
Great little theatre lots of shows on offer covering all aspects of theatre. Classes and courses are run here throughout the year. Good place to start an evening out at the grapevine bar and if your lucky you may even see my photography on show. #dwickphotography
G. S.
Great night out, cheap bar made it even better! The only thing i'd say is that it was quite stuffy in the auditorium, but then again it was literally the hottest day of the year today! Great experience, nice venue.
N. N.
Have been going to this theatre for two years, travelling from central London. I found their comedies to be so-so, but dramas are often unforgettable. Plus great bar and homey atmosphere.
H. S.
A brilliant community theatre with an ambitious programme of great productions. One of the best things about living in Ealing.
J. S.
Excellent community theatre. Has a studio stage, the Judy Dench Theatre, rehearsal rooms, cafe and bar.
Have seen some really good performances here both professional and amateur dramatics. And have attended sessions for children with disabilities too.
And hangs local artist's work on it's walls.
Summer drama classes are also held.
I believe one can become a 'member' too.
It's only drawback is it's uncomfortable seating.
Lots of voluntary staff. All of whom are enthusiastic, approachable, friendly and informative.
Wheelchair accessible.
Wee carpark. Alternatively there's a carpark behind Percival House.
In close proximity to Walpole Park, Pitshanger Manor Museum and Art Gallery, and Ealing Studios.
Nearest station is Ealing Broadway.
E. M.
It is a great local theatre. They offer lot of different shows. Pub inside is great!
J. H.

Fantastic community run theatre with a great bar. Don't be put-off by the fact that the productions are 'amateur'; most of them are very close to being professional-standard.
J. R.

G. R.
