Reviews of The Troubadour
A. D.
Unique quirky restaurant and bar. They serve food with a French twist. We ordered few plates to share and a glass of wine. Pretty reasonable prices and good service. The decorations inside the restaurant are very eclectic. There are old signs hung on walls and mandolins and teapots decorating walls and ceiling. If you like some music, you should check out the club downstairs. They have live music few times a week. Book in advance if you can.

I love the Troubadour, I've missed it. The food was really delicious, much better than last time I went (pre lockdown) the band were also amazing. Its a great spot, always entertaining, great place to people watch too!
S. G.
Characterful, atmospheric place with a delightfully hodge-podge, grubby decor. Club downstairs is fun too with a nice mixed crowd. Only came for a drink and a dance, next time will try the food.
S. O.
Iconic Cafe-bar and music venue. Full of music history. Very eclectic and well worth a visit if you love tine venues and new artist. Drink prices are above average, even for London but none of it is big standard and it's not the sort of place you go to get drunk, so fair enough.
S. H.
Great meal - the beef cheek dish was superb. Busy, fun, friendly staff and live music to follow that. Pretty hard to beat that!
P. S.
I went there for lunch. What an iconic place. The service was top notch. The food was nice but average. I had gratin de macaroni au formage (tasty), sweet potato chips (too salty), and hummus dip. Overall, I would recommend the venue.
R. E.
Really cool venue that does live music and sometimes pop-ups outside selling oysters.
Went in here with a friend and we ordered some cocktails and snacks. The friendly waiter recommended Singapore sling. I ordered that and can guarantee it's AMAZING. Also followed that up with an espresso martini which was very nice. Not too sweet and overly decadent.
Ordered some sweet potato fries which were nice. Warm and well cooked.
Really nice visiting at least once for a good London pub experience and cocktails, especially the Singapore sling.
M. B.
Well, a bit of a a gem really. Looks a bit tired on the outside, but was actually fantastic. We sat in the "secret garden" at the rear, which was lovely. The service was great, food quite tasty and the cocktails yummy, good value and selection. On top of that, a great price of 20 century pop culture history.
N. T.
Went in around lunch time. It has a very nice and unique feel but not the best for pushchairs.
Good selection for food and drink, a little pricy but not too much.
12% surcharge on the menu
N. I.
Great place for a few drinks with friends with a wide range of options. Table service was great and drinks came out quickly
R.
Had the full English breakfast and a pot of Earl gray tea. What could be better? Excellent service and friendly staff.
S. W.
Great ambience at The Troubadour and amazing to hear live music again after so long, with the audience singing along too. Lots of interesting displays about the history of The Troubadour and some of the many famous artists and bands who have played there in the early days of their careers in the music industry.
The staff worked hard with table service drinks and we enjoyed chatting with other customers.
S. F.
I love the Troubadour but I prefer to sit down where I please rather than be shown to a table that was too close to others who were a bit loud. The Garden is a bit small and it felt a bit cramped that is my only complaint. The inside is nicer and the service is very good.
M. P.
Always love coming here with my partner for one of the delicious thin and crispy flatbreads! We usually share one with some kind of ham on it, it's creamy and delicious and always cooked nicely.
We got fries which as usual were golden brown and crispy.
Slight disappointment there were no longer Halloumi fries available, because we love them.
Cocktails are always nice, we've been able to order delicious white Russians each time we visit despite them not being on the menu, which is a really nice gesture from the staff.
Lovely Irish coffee, though definitely very expensive.
This visit had a bit of a lull with the service being a little slow and having to try to wave someone down to ask for sauces, or a spoon for the coffee (I ended up stirring it with my knife handle) and our empties weren't collected when additional items were brought over so we were lacking in space and struggling with it a bit.
The server was still polite and friendly and let our friend plug in her phone to charge it, so we were grateful for that and usually the service is much smoother and more efficient, so it definitely hasn't put us off from our usual monthly visit.

This place is wild. Went for a last night out in London, only bar open till 2am in the area. Really great staff who are very friendly and efficient
M. P.
I loved at first glance. Beer is great and music even more from rock in friday to jazz at sunday . When you go downstairs… we’ll you jump into the 60’s alike!
P.
My love took me here, and I will always be thankful to her for letting me discover such a beautiful place. Never had such a wonderful birthday.
M. H.
A favourite of mine and has been for many years, great atmosphere, I love everything about the place.
2.
Great low-key venue with a wide history of incredible musicians passing through, such as Dylan, Hendrix etc.
A. I.
This is a fantastic venue, I saw my friends superb band Seven Days and Doesn't Die at the Halloween Weekender with two more great bands Lady Rage and Healthy Junkies.
P. S.
After splashing a fortune on flash restaurants in a weekend break we decided to come to The Trobadour as it seemed like an interesting place that promised live entertainment and the kind of food we all actually like to eat. In my view the quality of the food in terms of flavour was ten times better than the Dorchester Grill where we had eaten at earlier on that day. The ribs were tender and moist and succulent. The potatoes were well seasoned with salt and herbs unlike the bland ones we had received earlier at the Dorchester. The tarts are similar in appearance to pizzas and must be tried. If I'm in the area again I will definitely come back for one and try other things from their small buty cleverly though out menu. The blues duo were excellent and deserved more attention from the younger people who decided to stay outside. Had a great time and service in a pub with decor that could best be described as orderly clutter.
L. G.
Had a lovely Sunday morning breakfast. Avocado toast with poached eggs was very good. Friendly staff
D. R.
Lovely music and fantastic service, we also really enjoyed the freshly cooked food. Would recommend for a lovely atmosphere too. A lovely evening 😁
R. S.
Great place!!! Good Food!! And amazing music "The grove" last night. Definitely coming back 👌
G. D.
We've has brunch here. Really good. They're currently having maintenance works in part of the bar (July 2021), which is a good sign, but it wasn't noisy or any kind of nuisance.
D. G.
Very good hot chocolate. The place is quite baby friendly too.
b. b. M.
Good music venue and nice place to eat.
Good food, from breakfast to dinner, friendly staff.
A. D.
Immaculate vibes! Great food and superb live music - will definitely be back.
S. R.
Great service, great food. Would recommend lunch or dinner. Staff so kind and caring.
E. J.
Loved the garden. Food was also great. Had the polenta chips with truffle and a flatbread with salmon and a veggie flatbread to share. The veggie one was super!! Only downside was the toilet being in broken so you had to walk outside to the next unit.
j. b.
This wisened and hardy survivor of the “pre-swinging” London’s hip boho coffee club scene, morphing into a significant incubator/hangout for the burgeoning sixties “folk explosion”+ subsequent proliferations.
Loomed large as an influential presence encapsulating the ethos of the times.
A quirky, ramshackle venue with an authentic and atmospheric “get-up” now mostly functioning as a bar/eatery with live music.
Or as Paul Simon (a habitué in the early days) would have it …” still crazy after all these years.”
And still very much worthwhile.
M. B.
Live music pub with great vibe , history and atmosphere. Serving food and drinks.
S. P.
Great little place, amazing service, thanks to the barman who came running out with the phone I'd left behind!
D. B.
Amazing atmosphere, great live music, excellent, friendly customer service.
J. M.
Top place, Sunday brunch here is a must. Love the Tarte Flambé.
D. M.
Good pub with great ambience live music and amazing history of British pop music
B. C.
Full of character and ambiance. One of the original legendary London coffee shops. From the folk revival to Adele, this had hosted amazing music. The ground floor had a couple of bar/restaurant areas with the base member being the venue. They offer a good selection of drinks including cocktails and food. The service we mixed some staff were warm and friendly, others less so. Highly recommended.
a. h.
Great music venue with some great food......
P. Y.
A unique pub with beautiful and varied interior.
F. B.
Great place, had dinner there in the garden!
Would be nice to be able to book also inside so you can enjoy the live music.
S. R.
Went with a grouping friends, had food upstairs before going to listen to the music downstairs after we'd finished eating. Cocktails are 2-4-1 before 7pm so they were very good, menu is not extensive but the fish and chips I had were very good. Music downstairs was excellent three bands for £8, toilets got a bit rank towards the end of the night
C. B.
Quirky and picturesque bar with beautiful garden. Staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommended
T. M.
Fab friendly restaurant with grate music venue in the basement
C. L.
great venue. really enjoyable evening. would recommend.
J. H.
I love this place, it had live music on Sunday which was lovely. I had sweet potato fries and a tea, the fries were pretty good. The vibe is nice and I'll definitely come here again at some point to try more things on the menu and hopefully enjoy some music. I love the quirkiness of the place and the cool front door.
S. N.
Quaint little place. Cafe by day, pub and club by night.
m. B.
Lovely old venue! We came to watch a band and dinner before. Dinner wasn't good sadly. Service was patchy, we had one forgotten dish, soggy batter, mushy chips, wooden halloumi fries, chalky sticky toffee pudding. We had a good night though. Downstairs was fun with the venue being intimate. Decent beer
A. P.
I loved this place, awesome vibes and full of artists. 10/10
D. D.
Favorite bar in all of London. I live east but will cross town any day to get a beer or food there. Showed up one night and stumbled upon a nice live jazz session. In the summer time the terrace at the back is loveliest. The food is top notch. Service real good. Great concert venue downstairs. Couldn't recommend this place more. x
H. T.
Great pub experience with good selection of drinks. Two venues on site provide a selection of live music to enjoy. Unfortunately did not have the opportunity to taste the food, however, had massive food envy after catching whiffs of dishes missing my table.
R. D.
On a whim, I went to the Troubadour as a weary traveler looking for good food, music-minded folk and great tunes on a Tuesday night. I got all three. I recommend the steak and mushroom dinner. Staff were friendly, jazz trio were spot on and drinks reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
Y. M.
Very friendly staff and a comfy atmosphere. The food was a little pricey, but the generous portions make up for it and the taste was good. One of the few 'anime pilgrimage' locations in Europe due to the K-On movie (and they even have a small K-On picture outside!). You should look up when the live jazz music plays to get the best experience. The toilets are kinda unique though (and kinda dirty).
D. L. H. S. a. m.
I love this place. Staff are great... good locals... music downstairs and on Wednesday... well the best fun open mic I think you will ever experience. Food is good too. During the day great little place in the garden to have a coffee. As I say Weds is the best upstairs. Fri and Sat downstairs has a good vibe too
M. C.
Sitting in the lovely garden at the back was a treat. Food and service was good. I missed the robin that used to visit the tables.
M. P.
Tiny little pub with a live music every now and then. They've got an interesting rustic interior with lots of different tea pots on the walls and ceiling. There's a table service there so don't wait at the bar for too long as no-one will serve you there 😅🤷 drinks menu was pretty standard nothing over the top. Just a simple place.
C. K.
Excellent atmosphere. Courtyard at the back is well covered so surprisingly warm (relatively). Staff super friendly and attentive despite us being outside/tucked away. Burger and chips hit the spot, I'd say std pub average.
B.
Amazing cozy place with impressive decorations and menu.
D. M. N.
So awesome. My daughter and I had breakfast here the last day of her visit. My omelette was gigantic and filled with great tomato, mushrooms and spinach. Her French Toast looked great and the Mimosas were wonderful. Great rock memorabilia on the walls. Jimmy Hendrix played here !!! More recently ... Ed Sheeran !!! Love even the exterior and 60s look painted door.
L. W.
Great authentic pub, good food menu with veggie options. Lots of beer and wine choices. Beautiful courtyard garden at the rear to enjoy the outside space.
C. G.
I had a great time at this music pub about 10 days ago. Really authentic surroundings and good food too. Jazz band on the ground floor and gig in the basement with two young very talented female artists. Do check them out on YouTube. Superb evening.
S. S.
Just had a drink. Nice cosy place.
H. J.
Legendary rock 'n soul bar - a special place in my heart this one ❤️
I. J.
One of my favourite places in London, trully unique in West part for sure. Quirky, beautiful garden in the back that is offering some quiet time if you wish so. Great music selection, many greats played here as well. Food is great, though a bit more pricey but still worth of the overall vibe and the experience Troubadour offers.
I. C.
Amazing breakfast and tasty lunch. Nice terrace outside and lovely decorations inside.
S. K.
A wonderful and vibrant occasion. I met loads of great people and listened to some awesome music. I’m really happy with the place and it offers excellent food upstairs. Highly recommend.
E.
Decor is cool, staff are really lovely and friendly, coffee is great, but oh god the food. Nothing terrible about it really, but it's all something you could easily whip up yourself at home after a trip to Tesco. The portions are very small too, all for a fairly heft price. One slice of ordinary bread with some avocado spread on, and 2 poaches eggs on top cost 9.50. As soon as I saw it being brought over I was very disappointed. I'd go back but definitely for a coffee only.
E. W.
Gorgeous place with great atmosphere. The food was really tasty and the portions healthy :-) The staff were helpful when I told them I have a gluten intolerance and explained everything on the menu that was safe for me.
Downstairs there is a bar where my Husband's band played a gig, and it was a great venue for that too. Cosy, atmospheric lighting, great crowd, great band (biased much? :-)
a. p.
Brilliant bar and restaurant with an amazing basement venue. 5* any day of the week
C. R.
Visited this place multiple times while in London, the atmosphere is amazing. The music is great and the menu itself is super cool. Cocktails and food are delicious, the breakfasts were super yummy too!
K. B.
Great location and atmosphere for a couple and the family. Prices are slightly above average but the food was nice enough and satisfying enough to say you had a nice night out
A.
Very good atmosphere but let down by the quality and price of the food. I would definitely recommend this place for drinks, as the decor is fantastic and the outdoor terrace also lovely. However, the food was overpriced and not very nice! We went for brunch and ordered eggs and smashed avocado on sourdough. What came was a piece of bread with a tiny scraping of pureed avocado and two undercooked poached eggs. Coffee was good, however!
F. S.
Great atmosphere. One of my favorite london pubs that has a great vibe. Cocktails are lovely. Breakfast is amazing. Have come multiple times and I love it
P.
If you love music do not miss this place as it’s unbelievably inspiring. Great musicians every night. Tasty food. Amazing crowd. Historic place. If you can only go to one place in London go here!
B. M.
We went for the music - totally enjoyed it and we'll go back, but there are some things that a newbie should know: It's a bar upstairs, there is a garden area with tables in back, and the bands play downstairs. It's a little sticky (beer sticky), and in our case a little smokey (due to the kitchen fire it seems). Nevertheless, a good time seems to be had by all. It's a popular place!
A. K.
A very nice place with a medieval vibe. I had breakfast in the outside area, at the back. It was especially enjoyable on a cool morning with grape vines running overhead and birds chirping. The breakfast was good and customer service was great.
C. R.
Was taken for a drink. We had cocktails...rather enjoyable 241 until 7pm. Most were in the garden but rain was forecast so we stayed inside.
O. A.
Great talent and quite varied styles from indie to blues/ jazz. Lovely ambience. Entry fee is low but expect to make up for it in the price of drinks
F. P.
An excellent coffee house come pub, a little over priced but worth a visit. Just spotted a coffee on the menu for £12! stick that in your pipe and smoke it. I guess the American tourists probably do.
H. S.
The place itself is really nice and with a good atmosphere. However their breakfast menu is pretty standard, and weirdly enough eggs that we ordered were completely bland and tasteless! (which is rather unusual for eggs...). We waited over 20 min for our breakfast and it definitely wasn't busy...
R. M.
What a fabulous place, which I have been to over the years, and was there with a group of friends the other evening: great staff, very atmospheric venue, lovely private room, and excellent food and cocktails. I will be back soon to enjoy the garden, which is magical. Thank you!
J. M.
lovely distinct character that sets it apart from most other london pubs i've been to
M. M.
Lived in the area for 10 years, and only after I moved just saaf of the river did I go and visit this place, wish I had done so far earlier. It's a very cool spot, with really nice friendly staff, good varied mix of people, and an incredible history (which I knew but never ventured there for some reason). We ate there, and the food was a pretty good standard, nothing to complain about, I would prefer to be able to order a medium rare burger, but being English, Im used to that limitation. Only 4 stars as I wasn't a big fan of the custard for my desert, bit lumpy, but that's just my personal preference I guess. We took a friend who had just moved to the city and country from the US, and he certainly found it an enjoyable and quirky place to discover in his first weeks. Certainly a place to sit, eat, drink, chat and chill. Worth a visit, if only to sit in there and read about the amazing history in a quiet unassuming establishment and area.
C.
Fantastic place for breakfast - amazing eggs florentine and the best coffee. Not the cheapest venue but friendly staff + great atmosphere. The poetry club every other Monday night is a blast with a great mix of new and established artists. In the summer months, check-out the garden at the back - it's like going into alice in wonderland's garden - really beautiful and lit-up at night. I always take family from abroad here when they're visiting.
M. G.
Yesterday I went for the first time in this coffee. Me and my old friend went there to get a cup of espresso. It was the perfect place with fine atmosphere. We enjoyed with a fancy coffee and delicious food! The staff is polite. I will come back again :)
S. R.
Lovely wooden cosy nook with beautiful beer and food! We ate here for breakfast and it was great. Will definitely be visiting here again next time we are in the capital! I highly recommend the eggs Benedict! 😊
M. H.
Very interesting and unusual restaurant food and atmosphere great. Great lunch in back garden and everything possible.
V. 0.
Love the british pub-flair. Stuff is very friendly and the Drinks and the food is good! We spent 4 hours in there and had a lot of fun on the concert in the basement! Its said that Jimmy Page is a regular of this place ;-)
D.
Just wanted to nip in and grab a coffee and was welcomed by the most amazing looking premises and friendly staff who made me a sublime cappuccino. I had to leave for a meeting but I really did not want to leave - I felt at home from the moment I sat down. Absolutely considering coming along for some live music!
S. A.
Brilliant on New Years eve :) we had nice drinks and chapagne, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Live jazz on upper floor was great fun and disco downstairs had a dj playing punk! Loved my evening and would recommend this place to anyone!
Y. C. C.
Amazing service! The staffs are super thoughtful and friendly. They prepare candles for us to present our birthday cake!! The atmosphere is really nice as well! Strongly recommended.
T. M.
Decent treatment from staff, no gluten free snacks, not much food really.. fair though, tiny venue, can't really walk through but must be a good price for hire downstairs because I've attended events there... it's an okay venue.
P. M.
A really iconic London venue with a growing top-drawer jazz programme! Today was the future with young musicians from NYJO, everyone was well looked after, the atmosphere was great and it’s a place you should definitely check out!
A. C.
The troubadour's food and drinks are surprisingly good, better than any pub tried so far.
J. M.
This is a very popular place and that's the main reason why it gets busy even on Monday night, when most bars or pubs would kill for some tables. The staff is attentive and you can be sure, they'd do their best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Tasty sandwiches, nice cocktails and reasonable prices. What more could you ask for?
J. M.
It's a great place to come- good food, fun decor, good drink, good location, and one of the best places to meet with a group.
It's not the cheapest place to get a meal, but the portions are pretty good, the food is very tasty and it's got a good, nostalgia bohemian vibe. Also nice to pop along to West Brompton Ceremony for a walk before or after.
S. M. (.
Really interesting looking place, seems to have a restaurant, cafe and a lot more to it that I never noticed on the night I went! I was there for the basement music venue which was great. A lot of people dancing and just enjoying themselves. The toilet area was interesting too, especially the sink :) Slady ( Slade tribute band, all women) they really rocked, then Daniel Takes a Train were Brilliant too! I had never been to the venue before, would defo go again :) Also got told Jimi Hendrix had played there, must look into the history of the place..
F. T.
Nice atmosphere, feels like you are in France. Music was lovely! Tasteful small plates, reasonable prices, nice people and friendly staff. Service was good.
А. К.
The atmosphere and food are really nice. Menu is small but at the same time there is a lot of options. The only delta for me is that it’s really cold inside because of the door that sometimes stays open for a while. It’s nice to set near the window but I don’t recommend it if it less then 10 degrees
C. A.
What a nice place! The Wednesday jam is amazing, great vibe, super talented musicians and a lot of energy and emotions along the night. If you are in London, please don't miss this!
S. A.
Quirky, fun, quaint, interesting pub with good food and great live music. Perfect for after work chill out time and friends' nights out. Love the bohemian vibe!
S. H.
Quite hipster for West London in a low key comfortable way. Definitely something a bit different with a great musical legacy. Table service, drinks a bit expensive. Worth a visit.
J. B.
I have been to the troubadour several times with a couple of my artists (@hernameisark & @joshvinemusic) and have always loved the place; intimate, welcoming (if a little odd in shape) venue, lovely little restaurant above and a real sense that you’ve been somewhere steeped in history and full of stories!
B. R.
Great little place. Well deserved reputation for its awesome character. Menu is good and a little quirky. Used to come here often on Sundays for a leisurely post-hangover brunch and would definitely recommend for same.
T. O.
Legendary London music venue that many great artists have played over the decades.
They still have great music here! The basement is available as a function room for events.
j. c.
Awesome. Atmospheric, friendly. Interesting. Just great fun with great food and very friendly staff all except the managers who seemed constantly stressed thus taking the edge of an otherwise perfect evening.
P. T.
Very groovy! Looks like it hadn't had q luck of paint since Keith Moon was looking about in there, but it's all the better for that. Good music too...Wanna authentic boho 60s vibe? That's you joint. Dunno about the food. Didn't eat
J. S.
Long running cosy café. Has really tasty menu.
Staff are welcoming and friendly.
Has garden, serves alcohol as well as tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Venue for live music!
In close proximity to Brompton Cemetery, and Earl's Court.
Nearest station is West Brompton
E. t.
Nice staff. Good service. Food can be better but I like the cocktails.
L. G.
Had a delicious vegie burger with kumara chips, the beer is local and yum. It's a really quaint little place with a big sound, really nice music till midnight, sometimes 2am. The front door is a carved splendour and the downstairs toilets are like a scene from Hogwarts.
Check it out!
L. M.
Good wine and board. Quirky spot.
J. G.
Would like to give this place 5 stars, and in would have before.
We visit this place every time we visit London. Especially for the eggs Benedict.
Though this year they seem to have fallen a bit off on the food.
But the atmosphere, the service and the coffee:-) excellent
e. s.
Tiny space but Spicy atmosphere...very gnammy PIMMS 🥰😉
K. G.
A really lovely place to meet friends, to eat (and drink) in a wonderful, friendly atmosphere.
The Troubadour has been going for years and years.
The staff here are always so genuinely happy and helpful. Highly recommended.
-.
Nice and cosy place, good brunch menu with many old English favourites, good selection of drinks and a relaxed atmosphere.
Service a bit patchy but not horrible.
F. R. a. P. S. L.
Nice place, average food
A. B.
Blurry eyed after travelling and being up for 72 hours looking for hot food--this was our first dining experience in London. No reservations and tables were booked but the staff found room for us at a most charming, candle lit table. Wine and beer provided along side incredible cuisine--ah! Nirvana! We were casually dressed and didnt feel out of place. Very bohemian atmosphere. Tis difficult to dine elsewhere after dining at the Troubedour...
B. H.
I love this place.theres music upstairs near the entrance which varies from roma gypsy fusion music to blues.then you walk around the back to cosy wood interior, lots of history,Dylan played here. Led zeppelin.lots of interesting pictures on the walls of rock music if your a music fan.also more gigs downstairs.Relaxing and cosy areas to eat. Riendly staff too.I brought a group of 8 people there to eat and drink.tasty simple food.
Plus,if your looking for a photo op buy a steiner of beer....the glass is the size of your head. Il definitely revisit again.love it.
M. T.
If you want to show something different to somebody visiting London, or if you’re a tourist looking for something off the beaten track, you can’t miss Trobadour. With a prestigious history as one of the places where many bands started doing gigs, and it’s quirky decor inspired by tea and music, you’ll definitely experience something unique here.
Don’t miss the gigs that still happen on the basement a few days a week. They vary in quality, but they are always lots of fun. You never know, you might discover the next Jimmy Hendrix! (who used to play here)
A. F.
Great atmosphere and staff. Prices are a bit high in food but worth the quality. Has a lovely garden to sit outside and relax. Would love to see what it's like when the live music is on.
M. A.
Lovely atmosphere. Friendly waiters. Chill and laidback. Beautiful decor. Been open since 61 years. So good for breakfast. Wish it serves halal meat though. All in all great place.
R. P.
Great atmosphere and interesting decore. The coffee is great with non milk alternatives available. Also offer a great deal where ou get a free coffee or tea with a main meal over lunchtime.
G. B.
Stopped here for breakfast earlier today, place had a lovely old style vibe, some really nice jazz and swing music playing. Breakfast was delicious, staff were really nice. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town
S. O.
This place is unbelievably nice to go and relax. 2 band played last night and it was very nice. We got cocktails during the happy hour and they were very well done. I strongly recommend this place.

Excellent breakfast/brunch in a cosy friendly spot in Earl's Court with the most amazing interior! So amazing, everywhere you look there's something intriguing to grab your attention. Also very good coffee, sensibly priced food and welcoming staff.
A. S.
The Troubadour is something of a West London institution, but it isn't coasting on reputation alone. The food is very tasty (if nothing out of the ordinary), the decor charmingly eclectic and the staff are more than happy to explain the history of the club/cafe/restaurant. Despite the odd group of tourists wandering in for a coffee, this is still very much a spot for the locals living nearby. Definitely one of the more interesting spots in Earls Court to go for a drink - and still going strong after 50 years!
S. K.
The best coffee makers in the UK hands down. Must try their hamburger, I've found nothing tastier or full of flavour. We went back two nights in a row just for the burger.
B. A.
Charming café, bar, club, and bistro, offering homemade quality food as well as a friendly service. Often very busy and service can be a bit slow at times. This is more than compensated for by the eccentric decor and cosy atmosphere. The garden is a gem in summer days.
J. B.
Brilliant place great good and music
B. L.
A nice venue but slightly confused as to whether it is a pub, restaurant or cafe. We were there on a cold day which exposed insufficient heating but I’m sure that’s not normally a problem. Loads of character and interesting French vibe.
a. f.
Staff and service were good. Food average/nothing special. Full of ambiance and I'd like to go back for one of their jazz nights
S. H.
Nice vibes, nice food and nice people.
A. W.
Very cosy, but a little cramped some may say, the food was spectacular but it would have been more enjoyable if my knees weren't either welded together or locked into my chest.
But on the whole a very experience
4 stars
M. F.
Very good food, we had hamburger and bangers with mash, and nice location with lot of history, being open since the fifties.
After 8 pm, music in the basement ( you have to pay 6£ supplement, worth it)
M. N.
Cozy niche pub with jazz music at night. Serves food and drinks/cocktails. The prices are average for London. Very liked by the locals.
T. F.
Excellent venue, family friendly, good food and drinks selection. The downstairs stage offers superb acoustics, the sound technician is professional.
D. r.
Honestly, I come here because of the live music I’m not so impressed by their cuisine. I don’t mean it’s bad, what I’m saying is I’ve been eaten more delicious restaurant food. Other reason I’m a regular customer at The Troubadour is the casual atmosphere, I like that kind of places.
J. R. N.
I'm trully happy I came across this place.
Amazing environment and service, good music and the food was just Wow! Definitely coming back with more friends!
J. W.
Troubadour is an awesome place to get some coffee from. They have a good selection of blends and some nice breakfast options. However, the staff can be a little slow-ish and that is my main reason for the four-star rating.
S. S.
A unique experience really. One of the original 'bohemian' cafes has outlasted most of the rest and is still one of the best. Always a pleasant way to spend time with friends.
F. C.
Not my best experience in London. In a music night, from 3 acts, only one was actually good.
By the way, they had only Heineken on tap. Not cool for a British pub!
L. H.
Firstly I can say that I eally like the fact that this is an art gallery and a restaurant in the same time, it does improve the whole atmosphere. Decoration both inside and outside is outstanding. Never seen such a wierd place before, of course weird in a good way. Its colourful and old. On top of that, thereis a nice weekly programme. Food is delicious, but I couldnt say that something enough to get your mind blown. Prices are affordable if not cheap. Staff are nice, polite and welcoming as well as professional.
S. K.
Found this place by searching online, it's hidden away underground underneath an off licence - so you'd hardly know it's there, but it's worth the find as this a really cool little club!
It's proper jazz music here, as opposed to a number of other 'jazz' clubs in London (I won't name names but they know who they are) - raw, live and underground. Tables are spaced nicely around the band(s) to ensure intimacy but without being in their face, and as well as more established jazz acts there are also a number of great up and coming acts given a chance to shine.
The price of the beers is a bit on the steep side, but worth it for the quality of music and the setting.
E. L.
One of my favourite spots. Cute outdoor space when the weather is nice enough. Live music pretty regularly. The food is good quality and freshly made.
S. M.
Great atmosphere, also good for people watching. Live jazz on the Sunday night was buzzy. The food was ordinary, but who really goes for the food?
J. K.
Gone a little downhill. Been going here for 30 years. They have become a little mean. I really do not mind paying whatever is asked but I expect a reasonable plate of food and service.
Hopefully they will turn this ship around
E. K.
The drinks were wonderful!! Great 2-4-1 happy hour deal. Cozy and different place for a good pint.
T. D.
A lovely pub located near the Brompton cemetery. If you visit the cemetery, you can stop off at the pub for a drink. It looks quite quirky inside and it's very cozy.
s. c.
Just went to the club. Great bands. Old fashionned low benches make for intimate atmosphere. To be on the look out for unisex toilets when too drunk! Will have to go to the cafe part next time.
T. A.
I've always liked this place. Can't wait until it opens up fully again.
J. P.
quirky and fun locale. Everything I ordered from the menu was great. Tartar sauce was one of the most unique I've had in London. The mash is also one of the best I've had, it was buttery and well seasoned.
S. B.
came to the bar to see the appy mundays they was fantastic so like the real band probably better, the bar was fantastic just takes you back in time and the food and service was great friendly staff look forward to going again when in London next.
A. A.
An excellent restaurant, available at a very convenient location. There is even live music some of the nights. The food is good and the service is even better - the staff are always polite and friendly to the customers.
L. W.
My favourite place in this part of London, maybe in all of London! Continues to hold up its reputation for hosting amazing and diverse talent in the club downstairs and it's a lovely place for a catch up & a glass of wine with friends.
P. M.
Always an amazing place despite some irritating garçons and excessively loud music. The atmosphere and food make up to it. Don't go there if you are tired and have a headache
M.
A music venue with a great history. Very small and intimate downstairs. Make sure you get there early or you could find yourself stuck round the corner unable to see the (tiny) stage.
S. G.
My daughter plays here, and we love the vibe, ethos the rock and roll!!! Welcoming, supportive and warm staff. Here is to continuing to support true, unmanufactured talent- Persia Holder Check her out on Sound Cloud 🍀
L. W.
Great pub with an amazing atmosphere. Lots of history and friendly staff. Food and drinks were really good and prices are really reasonable.
A. V.
Super nice place to have drink , coffee. Cool place to chill , listen nice music Come and enjoy!!
T. B.
Great little spot in quite a commercialised area. Offers a friendly approach and a nice selection of food and drinks. Music is often very good as well in the downstairs club.
T. C.
Rustic decor with a traditional vibe. Beautifully relaxing music for the ideal brunch. Has a garden, tavern-like main room and staff that just lets you be. This hidden gem is a must
A. V.
One of my favourite hangouts during my college days in the 90s, studying at Imperial and living down the road, I use to come frequently here to read a book, meet a friend and enjoy a cappuccino. Glad to see this place is still as popular today.
V. M.
Very nice food and lovely service. Friendly and special place. Only one recommendation - needs cleaner toilets...
D. I.
The service was okay and the atmosphere nice but the food left a fair amount to be desired. We ordered the charcuterie board to start which was nice but came with a pathetic amount of heat-at-home baguette, the kind you might pick up for 80p at Tesco. For main we had the lemon and herb chicken with sautéed potatoes to share. The potatoes were overcooked to the point of being crisps and the whole dish was an unappetising shade of brown. May have just been a bad day but I'd be reluctant to go again, at least for food.
S. N.
Troubadour has a beautiful garden where you can spend a pleasant afternoon with tasty food and not overpriced. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating.
J. E.
Fantastic food, decent coffee and good service. We are also welcomed warmly with our baby and pram in tow so we couldn't ask for more!
K. T.
Quirky jazz restaurant near earls court with live music. It's very cosy and the drinks and food are pricey but there's no cover charge for the music!
A. B.
Love the laid back atmosphere, food was OK, nothing special, it seems to be more of a drinks place than a restaurant as I had remembered from a few years ago.
M. W.
Nice enough food, good service, cute ambiance and a sweet ass little live music venue downstairs with a nice bar. Been many times, never been let down
N. C.
Fear and jest in the Wild West seems a fitting anthem for the Troubadour. Jest aplenty, there is a fine selection of beers served from a pint sized bar. But break the seal and darkness lies within. With loos bearing astonishing resemblance to the Chamber of Secrets slash at your own peril for Moaning Murtle could surface any time - if not it will just be the local toilet trading pensioner spouting agèd political anthems. By this point even I'm wondering why I've given 4*,but hey, life is life.
Y. S.
The places is extremely cute, great wines and good however the service was slow and they forgot our drinks ... service definitely could use some improvements.
E. C.
Really great place! The music, the food and the feel of it were amazing. 100% recommended!
S. M.
Good coffee, and service, we didn't like the food. Eggs benny was cooked solid, and we almost needed a steak knife to cut the muffins...
M. C.
Shook to my core to learn this place was here before the one in LA. Has a charming historic vibe. Good beers on tap and nice live music.
E. M.
Decent food, very nice decor and excellent, cosy venue next door if you're in the mood for some good jazz music.
C. H.
Friendly staff, cool ambiance, and great community vibe. Traditional English breakfast was tasty and cozy.
C. B.
A super coffee bar, restaurant (wine too ) A bit pricey from a South African perspective with the exchange rate. Loved the food and the ambiance. Great service.
M. C.
Always a pleasure to pop in for a coffee.
K. v. S.
Lovely place, good food and drinks. Really nice and friendly staff
N. Y.
A tavern with big plates of food and food was good too. But really noisy there, music very loud and not all plates were as clean as they should be.
H. s. !.
Its ok. Vibrant atmosphere. Staff were friendly. They don't let you choose your own tables. Table service and cutlery need more attention.
N. D.
Great vibe. Love the decor and the collection of old instruments. The highlight was the jazz band Sebastian de Krom and friends which plays every Sunday & Tuesday
V. R.
You MUST eat in the secret garden out back! The food was delicious, the servers friendly and helpful (this was our first day in London), but it was the atmosphere that will bring me back.
J. B.
A very pretty cafe with delicious English breakfast and a nice shady garden seating area. Very pleasant place for a summer brunch.
D. E.
It's indeed a very nice quiet place to be
N. W.
Attending Jazz event, great venue, atmosphere and wonderful food.
Steeped in history and living in past makes this a charming characterful place.... 5 Stars
S. M.
Excellent venue for live music from new and upcoming acts. Get there early for the best seats and there is a happy hour from 8pm to 9pm.
E. O.
Such a cute find! Sit in their secret garden in the back! Charming, breakfast served all day! Wait staff very friendly. Would recommend.
M. B.
What a little gem this place is. A tonne of music history, cool vibe, lovely fish and chips and super friendly staff. Loved it!
A. O.
The best bar in Earl's Court by some way.
Lovely old fashioned bar, live music, quaint garden out the back and, exceptional staff.
Z. H.
Very cozy and has a rustic vibe
N.
Had good average eggs benedict on a Sunday morning with my family.
Cute cosy ambient, some guitars in vitrines. In calm South Kensington area. Not close to city centre
M. K.
We stayed for a week in West Brompton and this was our local. Realy nice live music, very polite personnel and great decoration/atmosphere.
D. F.
Great place, good atmosphere, good food, nice staff. Live music. Worth a visit.
L. L.
Great ambience and decor. The burgers are so good. Also recommend the Margaritas
R. M.
I visited the open mic night and it was a good night, not to crowded, if you're interested in electro music there was some okay performances 👍🏾
d. m.
This was almost my second home when I lived in London. I now live in Devon, but the troubadour is always on the agenda during my frequent visits to London. Food and music. What more could I want.
J. B.
Watch the service charge for 2 Beers!! Otherwise enjoyed some proper German Beer
v. m.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff
T. A.
Quite simply a fantastic location. A bit of authenticity in the river of pretentious tosh in West London. Great drinks, and service!
S. A.
Must visit on a summer's night for drinks and delicious food. But more importantly - the quirky, hippy and relaxed athmosphere with a high class clientele.
R. D.
A really nice place to have a drink and meet friends. Don't have to many cocktails though as you may have to Re - mortgage your house to pay for them!
B. B.
Lovely coffee house , been going for 20 years. Originally a 1950 coffee house. Since the 60 has had poetry nights. Visted in the past by Hendrix and Dylan.
E. B.
Very nice location and amazing interior decorations, a real throwback to the past, a little pricey in my opinion but still good quality for both food and drinks
F. D.
The Troubadour truly lives up to its bohemian tag! Great little cafe, staff are so friendly and it is well priced for the quality of food!
Love it!
S. C.
I go there regularly on Sunday mornings. Great friendly service. Reliability good coffee. Tasty Eggs Benedict. 👍🏽
E. Z.
Great food, wide selection of drinks and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again!

It is really a special place, allowing you to enjoy the ambiance of 1950s/60s music venue.

my last visit to the troubadour would have been in 1975..I am amazed it's still going..I was 16 years old and lived just up the road at 296..my mum, friends and me visited the troubadour regularly as a friend new the chef..I remember feeling very grown up being able to go in a 'mingle'..it was a fabulous place...I look forward to visiting it again soon;-)
M. S.
Eccentrically fitting décor and excellent streak salad, coffee is pretty good too. Both staff and customers good for a chat.

C. S.
Had a delicious breakfast in this unique venue, the art work and front door carvings are eye catching. Glad I made the journey to grab breakfast here!
A. F.
My favourite spot in London. The staff are so friendly, the food is great, the history of the place is fascinating. Love the Troub.
C. R.
This famous venue has only a faint hint of its former exentricity and Harry Potter atmosphere. Largely redeveloped. Very expensive these days.
E. C.
Wonderful jazz on a Sunday evening. Cozy seating and great cocktails. Will make for a lovely evening.
S. T.
Lovely place to have a drink!
M.

K. P.
Very good food , nice atmosphere, friendly staff couldn’t complain 👌 , only improvement is better pricing as it is a bit expensive but food is of a very good standard and worth the price
J. R.
Nice breakfast, traditional Caffe, cool theme little steep but hey it's west london
M. R.
A venue on the Old Brompton Road, which is steeped in music history. The onward march of time has done nothing to diminish its character and while the prices aren't the cheapest, the food and drink here are excellent.
d. h.
Nice friendly helpful staff.<br/>Interior design is lovely. Food mediocre and overpriced. Left my lattewas disgusting. Could do better!
M. A. O.
Great place for jazz type music. Food service during the say wasn't the best but still will go back here for the music scene
Z. B.

Cosy and cool little music venue with a long history in folk and jazz and rock but I can't imagine Jimi Hendrix liking the price of a pint in this place.
