Poped in during an afternoon. Was welcomed by super friendly people behind the counter. They served me nice food and drinks. The fish was gentle, chips were crispy, the pint was tasty. I felt welcomed and loved it. Will come back when in Manchester again.

Myself and my friends have been Visiting via for many years even during covid, always love the place it’s a home from home amazing staff always busy and drink prices are reasonable. Always come to see the drag shows and every night iv been it’s always been a blast some queens may have the same songs most time but they are always fun to watch and the way they engaging with the audience is always comical. Adding to that, Last night was amazing. the music, the vibe, the DJ was on point playing song after song that I adore always smiling and dancing away. What can I saw the staff look like they enjoy there job there as well always a friendly welcoming face at via. Amazing night will be coming back very soon.

We have stumbled upon this venue when having a day out shopping in Manchester - it's peaceful atmosphere and very attentive staff was just what we needed after busy day shopping. Loved the unique charisma of the interiors but we took advantage of a nice weather and sat outside, it's just a nice and lively place. Food was great, salad was massive, colourful and very tasty! My daughter had a pizza, nice crispy base, fresh basil, really good, can only recommend 👍

Food is excellent and cooked to perfection and it fills you up, especially the Sunday roast. Just be aware of long wait times during busy periods but it's worth the wait. Staff are very friendly, this is a nice venue and is a credit to Manchesters Gay Village We always come here for something to eat.

Excellent venue, perfect starting point for my nights out. Always served by friendly staff and great atmosphere both inside and on warmer days sat out on the street. Lots of lovely areas you can sit in and the decors cool and the club bit downstairs is really enjoyable. Over time via has grown to be fave place of mine on canal street over the other bars.

I absolutely adore this place! Been a couple times and had an amazing night. The bouncer (think his name was Lincoln) was so friendly, warm, smiley, helpful, it honestly makes such a difference to your night out! The bar is spacious, plenty of tables and dance floor space. The drinks are a bit pricey but the service is quick and friendly so I didn't really mind. I will definitely be back!

Gorgeous, gorgeous bar. All dark wood and private little alcoves at the back, open areas towards the front. Club room downstairs. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Good atmosphere inside, welcoming to everyone. Drinks aren't overpriced and are good. Love Via. Don't tell too many other people though, yeah? I still want to be able to get a table!

Nice bar by the canal, we sat outside and ordered the pizza cone and some cauliflower wings and some drinks. The drinks were moderately priced for the location and the pizza cone was very exciting and also tasty. The cauliflower wings were unique and had an almost onion bhaaji type batter, they were very very nice though. Only downside was that the table was on a slant so our drinks kept sliding down the table, I feel like this is something that could be fixed with something under some table legs potentially. I visited with my boyfriend and a friend and were able to get a table outside, I’m bisexual. I’m just including this information because I saw a review by someone who was refused entry due to being too intoxicated and claimed they were denied because they don’t present in a certain way.

A little disappointing I've been visiting for about 30 years The menu when Tony was the manager had a good selection Sadly its just a little limited. No jacket potato No steak No Gammon (my favorite) No fresh steam veg The staff friendly but what ever happened to choice. Very dissapointing today and if worried about Covid 19 anyone serving food I feel should wear fresh gloves per service and a mask.

This is pretty much my go-to place in the Village. Great on sunny days to sit outside and watch the world go by. Fabulous decor and plenty of quieter seating areas. Pretty decent food as well. Generally good music and friendly bar staff. It can get a bit crowded on weekends/some evenings, and it's not the cheapest of places, but always the first place I recommend.

Great bar. Have been many times pre lockdown and a couple of times since bars reopened. Staff very good and they actually do great food too if you fancy pizza, burger, fries, fish and chips etc. One of our favourite bars in the Village.

The best thing about this place is the friendly vibe. Customers are quite mixed leaning towards the older age group. It's been decorated in a semi Gothic, semi church like style with pews, church benches and such placed around the venue. Bar staff are pretty quick and friendly. Come at the right time and you can enjoy a DJ in drag commandeering the music for the night, peppering the evening with witty comments and light bantering with the customers.

Went on Sunday with a few friends. The glamorous DJ Roxy was incredible, so funny and entertaining wish she was on more, more so a Friday/Saturday when we usually go out. The bar staff were great and it was all in all a good atmosphere.

I've enjoyed coming to Via for years. The decor is great, though. An Alice-in-Wonderlandesque combination of furnishings, multiple levels, and various corners and crevices make for a great atmosphere. Food and service are a mixed bag. Staff have never been rude to me but it's ranged from really jovial and friendly conversation to a vague acknowledgement of my presence as I handed over my money in exchange for drinks. Food has been similar. I've had undercooked meats and fish in the not very distant past but lately it has been much better. The one and only time I was persuaded to get up and do karaoke was at this venue. I embarrassed myself here and felt able to go back, so they must be doing something right.

I was there recently on a Saturday night, my fave bar in the area. Food is lovely here and the staff are very friendly and all seem to enjoy what they do. Great music later on, another area downstairs more like a nightclub kinda vibe and dancefloor, really cool place.

I love Via. It's my favourite local bar with various indoor seating locations for pretty much any occasion, including food, where they have a reasonably priced and good quality menu. Also outdoor seating is available and the staff are lovely. Highly recommended.

N8ce clean n friendly place. I won't go there at weekends as I can't stand toilet attendants. Plus if you use the lock-ups you need to go see the toilet attendant for tissue. I really don't want everyone to know when I'm taking a pooh. So I never go at weekends even if my friends want to. I think it's cheap for girls to have to queue up for bog roll. You've enough cameras and we security. The place is a joke at the weekend. Order food, order drinks then order pooh paper nice.

Fantastic decor, lots of original pieces of furniture. The drinks and food range from bad to average. Drinks are often served in plastic, sounds snobbish but it reflects the quality of the drinks being served. Staff have never been bad but nothing positive to report. I hesitate to go again by choice.

Great portion for £12.50, bigger roast potatoes would be my preference but definitely recommended. Beef, pork and veggie roasts also available.

Via Fossa (latin for Canal Street!) was once the star of the street thanks to its swanky decor and spacious split level bars. It has perhaps lost its crown to the wealth of new places that have sprung up in the area but remains very popular with a mixed clientele. I love the maze-like quality of the place with unexpected seating areas springing up around every corner. i particularly love the strange carved witchy chairs in the back of the upper level, and have spent many a winters evening getting cosy there with friends and a few pints of cider! There are regular events held at Via such as drag performance, singers and clubnights downstairs. Great in summer when they open the front up to let the crowds spill out onto the street. Used to have a restaurant bit but a recent visit revealed that area is now another dance floor?
