I started square dancing last year and haven't looked back, just wished I'd discovered it before. I had no idea what it entailed when I went along for the first lesson, but am now totally hooked. It's so much fun and the people are friendly, welcoming and kind. You can go on your own or with a partner. Our caller Kevin makes it lively and entertaining and sometimes dances with us. If you haven't tried square dancing give it a go.

I started square dancing 2 years ago and have loved every minute. I didn't really know what it was but gave it a go and would recommend it to anyone who wants something that exercises mind and body and loves to have fun. The club members are very welcoming and helpful.

If you don't know what Square Dancing is and would like to have a go I highly recommend you come along to this club. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, we have fun and giggles and no one minds if you get it wrong. It focuses the mind, you forget all about troubles of the day and any stress melts away. We dance to all sorts of music genres and Kevin, our caller, is fab. Come on, what have you got to lose?!

My partner Sarah and I first went for a taster session in May last year. After that first experience there was never any doubt that we would be in it for the long haul. Everyone welcomes you in and supports you throughout the “newbie” learning process and beyond. Kevin is a magic caller and teacher and you develop this “In the present, moment by moment” concentration in order to be in the right place at the right time to the exclusion of any other thoughts. Beats anything in the “Mindfulness Handbook” I recon. SSpellbinding!

I initially went along in October 2019 for some taster sessions I saw advertised on Meet Up with no preconception of what square dancing was - Well I never expected it to be so much fun - you could not want to meet a nicer group of people all so friendly and welcoming feels like joining a nice large happy family - Kevin and Anika are also so experienced and take time to ensure you feel ok and all the Angels (experienced dancers)that help you to learn give up their time - I would recommend it for anyone - after a hard days works you think what a day go to Square Dancing and your mind is cleared lots of laughter and dancing - I just enjoy it so much and have met some really lovely people and felt so welcomed
