Came here for Gin Festival so wasn't sober enough to take good photos I'm afraid! Beautiful building inside and out close to train station. Outside seating available but we were inside sampling lots of fab gins and dancing to band. Would be a great venue for party but don't think there's any parking

Attended a 1920s themed event. The venue was beautiful, the drinks were reasonably priced and the staff were lovely.

Parking is bad before it was free for party goers not anymore either get a taxi walk or take a bus to this venue the staff are brilliant as is the manager service is 5 star and there is a good feel to it

So sad this very special place is closing its doors. My Dad, a musician. worked for the Michaelides brothers in the 60s. And I worked behind the bar in 80s. Best of all, son Anthony hosted our Wedding 1991. Lovely people and an amazing place. Another family business lost.

The building looks very grand from the outside. The interior is a little sad. A carpet wash and brush up wouldn't go amiss. The conference l was at made sure we had enough to eat but what is it with the tiny tea cups ( actually they were coffee cups ), no choice of tea bags, and having to ask continually for a hot water supply if you have brought decent ones with you. I'm afraid to say l took my afternoon cuppa elsewhere.

What an amazing venue! If you're looking to hire a place that oozes style & sophistication then you can't go wrong at The Assembly Rooms. The staff are so helpful & friendly and our event went perfectly as planned. Highly recommended!

Old, quaint building. Needs some redecorating. Only 1 elevator. Locks were broken in gents toilet. Easy access from Newcastle railway station - 3 mins walk. Good hotel and restaurant facilities nearby.

It is a lovely venue with a great atmosphere. I was there for a big event though and the queues for the toilets and for refreshments were huge; it was a big cramped. I loved the building though.

I went here for my prom and loved it, however no vegetarian options were offered with the food and several of my friends had nothing to eat

Canny Christmas night out (in), drinks were cheap food was lovely although pudding was more like a mousse than a Cheesecake, dj was rubbish and floor was bouncing up and down when everybody was jumping donna didn't really feel safe but I did have a good night, atmosphere was good and the waiters and bar staff were excellent, loved the gin pitcher 'home alone'!
