I had the pleasure of performing here as the bass player/JPJ of a Led Zeppelin tribute band and was not only treated exceptionally well by all techs + staff, but was also given the extra bonus of an incredibly energetic and positive crowd! This is an excellent gig venue. Not too big so you can see what's going on. It is standing only . Bar prices are as you would expect....High however the staff were very efficient at serving people in rotation so although very busy waiting time was not too long. It appears that wheelchair access is ok as well as I saw several wheelchair users at the gig. I'm not sure that they would have been able to see much in the main auditorium as every one else was standing. Overall for my first visit to the roadmender o was impressed.

I looooove small venues! Parking's easy in the area. Plenty of bar space so not too much queueing for drinks. And plenty of toilets too. Oh but the air conditioning since the 'C' word is bloody freezing, might be nice in the summer, but on a frosty November evening not so!

A great music venue, a little on the small side, so don't go expecting something like the size of Rock City. But an intimate venue that gets some fairly big name bands there. The sound there is always great as well so you don't have to worry about trying to hear the music through a layer of audio mud. One small problem being the fact that it is a small venue, the lack of bar space is annoying. Expect to have to queue gor a while. But that minor grumble apart I highly recommend The Roadmender. Go support your local music venue.

A decent size venue, well laid out with a good bar at very reasonable prices. The Roadmender centre has always catered well for the punk, ska, indie, new wave scene and much more. The building doesn't look that great from the outside and at first glance you'd think it might be closed down, but you can't judge a book by it's cover. Northampton itself is a bit of a dump but I'm only reviewing the venue ;-). On this occasion I went to see Theatre of Hate supported by Derek Forbes (ex Simple Minds) and his band and both were brilliant.

Always a friendly welcome and we appreciated the new air con as the gig we were covering was packed. As a photographer, the larger pit was good, too - it used to be a squeeze getting in. Good clean loos, although in the bar area a light would be good: if the bar door closes you're in the dark until you find the loo! COVID passes or clear tests from that day were obligatory - I have no problem at all with that. Good sound, as ever and, for a fan, the light was good. Photography wise, I've now got a new Lightroom preset: Roadmender orange! Photos downloaded from camera to phone and edited in Photoshop Xpress.

Still a bit deaf after witnessing the Wildhearts here last night. Perfect town centre venue. Plenty of bar staff, no queuing for the toilets. Ideal for any hard rocking man.

It's great to have any live venue in the area you live. There aren't that many acts there that I want to see but I am quite old so I would not expect there to be. However, the venue is just right for live music. When I've visited there has never been any sign of trouble and although there must be security it seemed low key and didn't stop people having a good time. There is a bar and the sound quality was good.

Lots of cheap parking nearby with a short walk to the venue itself. It is painted black inside but not particularly dark with a good space for the merchandise sellers. A good sized bar with lots of plastic glasses. This venue is fantastic for bands as it has a fantastic sound system and they can put on a terrific light show. Gigs are not overly expensive and there is always a good range of musical tastes catered for. I have been a few times now and am always happy to come back for a gig.

As a first timer I went to the xmas R&B party...staff friendly & welcoming, music/dj/atmosphere spot on! Not too cramped which was nice. Only thing I'd say is the toilets could do with a revamp!? More seating? I'm definitely looking forward to another night there.

Went there for a Ska concert. The place is nice and can accommodate lots of people. My critic goes to the bar 2.... Only 2 people serving so it took long waiting times to have a beer and at half of the concert they've closed because all the drinks were finished..... Good but not great place

We visited the Roadmender last week to watch the Brand New Heavies, and late last year for a ska and 90's house event. On both occasions we had a brilliant time. The atmosphere was great, drinks priced well, friendly crowd, not a hint of trouble. The venue today is just as good as when I visited it 20 odd years ago, as a drunken student, well worth a visit.

I like the roadmender. The main room room has 2 sets of doors (front and back) making it easy to get into the room when bands are playing. The back bar (when open) is a sure fire way to get served quickly. Sound quality on point. All good.

Been here many times over the years, great sound acoustics for gigs. Toilets could do with improvement though. This time when we were there the ladies lights were completely out and everyone had to get there phone torches on! Haha

I am a long term fan of the Roadmender and been going since the 70s. Relatively small venue most recently watched Heaven 17 and their top quality live show. Been there and done the big bands but will always prefer a small venue where you can see the whites of their eyes 👍🏽 The Roadmender always punches above its weight with the quality of the bands and long may it remain that way 😀

We were here to see Krysthla. It was the basement by the side, around the back of the Roadmender. I never even knew it was there. It just basically a downstairs cave. But there is nothing wrong with it. It seemed a bit devoid of atmosphere to begin with but soon picked up when the bands came on. You can see the stage easily no matter where you stand. The bar staff were friendly, which makes a nice change. Beer weighed in at £4.50 a pint. Loads of parking nearby and at only £1 for the evening to park in a multi-story that was a bargain for keeping your car safe.

Been to Roadmender a couple times before, good amount of events here for all ages and music fans. Several stages which also adds to the variety of stuff going on. Drink prices are somewhat reasonable and good staff.

Popular music venue in Northampton. There is a multistorey car park situated opposite, which is ideal. The venue itself is clean and well organised. The bar doesn't sell snacks, but the drinks weren't badly priced. There is a seperate area to the main stage, but no seating. The sound quality was quite good, although a little boomy. The toilets were even clean! A great little venue and I'd definately come again.

I have very fond memories of working at the Roadmender Centre in 1988-9 as an arts worker. I used to occupy a room downstairs where i taught screenprinting to small school groups and interested parties. It was a venue back then but probably on a smaller scale. I saw a few bands while i worked there, mostly goth bands such as The Mission, Fields of the Nephilim and All About Eve and i nearly saw the Happy Mondays but they cancelled on the night. Northampton's very own goth lords Bauhaus apparently used to rehearsed there. i was a massive fan but sadly never saw them live though it definitely made me apply for the job when i saw it in the job centre. Im glad to see the place is still a venue.

Not overly pistaking prices for a club in the City, £4 for a Carslberg Extra Cold, like the layout that was good for the multi stage Fusion Rave, I like the rooftop smoking area. The bouncer burst into the cubicle to scare the life out of us before he said he was only joking, nearly dropped a load outside of it, HAHAHAHA!
