F. H.The pub itself is very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. But, the sound quality of the bands isn't very professional, alot of feedback with all 3 bands last night.

M. M.This has always been a fantastic venue & has a reputation for being one of the best venues for live music in Norfolk. Charley & the team who have been running this for many years have done a fantastic job and have brought some fantastic bands to Norwich. I have enjoyed playing here many times over the years & hopefully will continue to do so. Unfortunately this pub is now owned by Enterprise Inns who unfortunately are a disgraceful company only in it for short term profit...& they penalise Landlords for turning a failing pub around & try to increase their share of the profits despite the fact it is through the hard work of the Landlords & staff & not them. It's been a real shame & the ongoing story has been well documented in the local press. Onan encouraging note though,I do hear the pub is being taken over in january by the landlord of the Walnut Tree Shades....which also has a fantastic reputation for live music. So there maybe hope that this fine venue will continue to grow & thrive. I certainly hope so xx

I. P.Brickmakers has been a long-standing post for live music in Norwich, for many decades.
Hosting ticketed gigs, open mic nights and events for local colleges it is important to understand how many people this venue has impacted over the years.
The venue is large, with three separate stages in and outside of the building.
Drinks are reasonably priced, and the staff and very friendly and welcoming.
H. G.A fantastic venue to perform in as well as watch great bands. Staff always make you feel valued and welcome.
As a musician, I cannot fault the tech support, sound engineer is always knowledgeable and friendly.
As a spectator, there is always a great atmosphere and plenty of choice at the bar. Located near food outlets for when you need to go and soak up all the beer you've consumed.

What a lovely little gem this place is, and now one of my favorites! Start to finish a lovely experience. I’ve ate in some of the most expensive restaurants in London, but the Brickmaker is up there with them!! Politeness doesn’t cost anything, and this place certainly lives up to that! B2 - amazing little spot. It’s like being in your own world. We hired this venue for a very sentimental event. The staff were continuously helpful and nothing was too much bother.
The Brickmakers and B2 are real gems, get down here to support them or we will lose another incredible live venue.

Amazing sound and lighting. A great venue. Use it or lose it. With so many venues closing down this place has had there fare share of fighting to stay open. So folks please support music venues. Especially this one.

S. P.Great place to go for a pint or to see some live bands. Has a great general atmosphere and friendly staff. Toilets are always clean, which is always a plus when you're popping down the pub. Would definitely reccomend the place.
Also it's along one of the main bus routes (first buss 11), or about half hour walk from the city, so easily accessible. They do have parking, so handy if you're coming by car also.
A. N.This is definitely not my favourite pub, but it's not terrible. I only go if we want a round of pool or darts, or there is a good band on. As for the atmosphere, it lacks a bit. The beer is reasonably priced and they have a decent variety. There are nice little nooks with sofas in which makes it alright for a cozy chat, but again still lacking in atmosphere. Great for a gig or a night with mates around the pool table, but I wouldn't go here any other time.

Charity fund raising days are excellent here and a highlight of the year.
Car parking is available on site with wheel chair access from the car park into the rear beer garden or straight to the public house.
A smaller music room is also available, so as much music as possible can be performed together and with the garden in Sumner, it is a three stage-venue!
The Brickmakers is on the bus route to and from the city, with a cash point machine nearby as well as a superb fish & chip shop, kebab & burger bar and a local newsagent. Food vans are often serving on gig nights here and an outside seating area is incorporated at the front of the venue.
Please adhere to any notices about smoking or noise levels as it is opposite a residential area, so be respectful upon leaving.
Of recent times, this pub was almost lost to the city with owners hiking the rent, forcing the passionate staff to take a pay cut to be able to keep it open, for all people and all genres of music.
Hats off to then all.
