JT is a fantastic play to play, practice and record. Ran by the fabulous Phil Booth, this is one of the Musical hotspots you need to get to. The venue space is great for shows and can supply a good 50/100 cap venue. The recording studio has recently been revamped and is now one of the leading recording studios within the United Kingdom. The mountains of vintage gear and Phil’s creative skills mean that every artist he records there has a touch of JT.

J.T. Soar is an absolutely brilliant cultural space. Incredibly welcoming and friendly, I always absolutely love attending gigs at there. The people running the shows are always very conscious to make sure everyone is having a good time and that the space is welcoming and inclusive. Even though I'm not from Nottingham, I always feel very at home when I'm attending a show there. The recording studio upstairs is also absolutely brilliant and Phil, Rich and Robin are rightly very highly regarded for their work. The practice rooms are also a godsend and I have used this when touring and needing a quick practice before a show. To me it feels like JT has become a really central part of the DIY music, culture and arts scene in Nottingham. 100% recommended!

Probably my favourite venue in Nottingham. Huge variety of bands, usually around a fiver, and BYOB. Plus, it's usually a great, respectful crowd. Earplugs recommended for some gigs, it's small, and can get loud!! Recently had a bit of a refurb for even better sound now.

J T Soar owner Phil is the most attentive and accommodating business owner there is. He is a really great musical motivator and helps bands and artists get the best of of their music. The building has great character and serves as a rehearsal space, music studio and live music venue and has been keeping the Nottingham music scene live and kicking. There is no better intimate music venue in my view and I am proud to have this in the heart of the city. Any musicians that are interested in recording and working with Phil....... I cannot recommend this place enough!

I basically live at JT Soar when all is well - Love going for gigs here and also practice in 2 bands and we've recorded our last 2 eps here. Phil is a true diamond providing such an important place for the local independent music scene. So so lucky to have a place like this in Nottingham.

Record / Great place to record, real easy going vibe. Phil will listen to what you're after and will be sure to get you the sound you want out of the sessions. Reasonable rates too. Rehearsal / Equipment & rooms are up to scratch, reasonable rates, lock ups available and 24/7 access is a big plus. Nice community feel. 5 Stars

The best little indie venue you could come across! Tickets for 7 quid or under, 3 or 4 bands and bring your own booze. What more could you ask for?

Phil and JT Soar have been incredibly supportive in making our record. From polishing previous bedroom mixes to recording from scratch Phil has an incredible ear for detail and went above and beyond to achieve the record we wanted to make with a variety of acoustics and styles including cello, harpsichord and violin.

What an amazing find for experimental live music in the heart of Sneinton Market. Had the opportunity to perform here in January 2019, and was blown away by the atmosphere of creativity, & avant garde experimentation. A small unpretencious place, run amazingly on a shoe string, rather chilly so bring your big winter coats but no lack of warmth in its welcome or audience. This place is what makes nottingham great!

This venue is epic, electric atmosphere, bring your own booze, I really can't say enough good things about this venue, it was well worth traveling from Birmingham to Nottingham just to see the Damn Craters & Hibushibire, If you live in Nottingham and love music and you haven't been to this venue, I ask you, "why not and do so as soon as possible".
