Stayed a month ago; nice site but warden by front gate said he wished he was on his own site and didn’t really like this one! Good advertisement! The site was nearly empty but when booked it said it was full? No ventilation at all in toilets and showers - windows won’t open.

Been coming here for over 11 years. We live in Lincoln, 70 miles away. Why drive hundreds of miles when the best site and area is down the road! There were some very officious wardens for sometime, upset a lot of people but now moved on and a much pleasanter ambiance.
The site is always well maintained and straight out of site into Nene Valley Park, the best park ever. Fantastic for dogs, walking and biking.
Two cafes, one overlooking water sports lake.
Several fantastic play areas for kids. Just spent another glorious four nights here in our motorhome.

My wife and I stopped for two weeks in September, two wonderful weeks. We stayed at Ferry Meadows Caravan & Motorhome Club Site last year ( 2020 ) and fell in love with Ferry Meadows and the Club Site. We have already booked for next Spring and are looking forward to it. The Site is very good, and the staff and facilities are great. We are in our seventies and have electric bikes, and I can tell you, there is no where better than Ferry Meadows and your site for us. Thank You very very much.

We absolutely LOVE this place.. 👍🏻
The site is always immaculately kept and very peaceful and always up to the standard expected at a caravan club site. The Wardens are friendly and helpful and nothing seems to much trouble for them.
The site is located close to the country park, the Nene Valley Railway and the Showground so there is always plenty to do and see for adults and kids or for a short drive you can visit Peterborough City Centre for some shopping..
We have visited this site many times and im sure we will visit many times more which is testament to the quality of this place..

Nice, clean and tidy site. Good facilities that are well looked after. Close to ferry Meadows Park with lovely walks. Friendly wardens. Nice for a short break in the caravan.
M. G.
Amazing place to stay. Friendly staff clean showers and Toilets.
And just a short walk to a lovely park
K. C.
Nice site, great location next to the country park. Loads of traffic free walks and cycle paths directly from the site.
C. J. M.
This Club site is of a standard you should expect. It is In a great location for access to Nene Country Park and the cycleways fanning out into the Cambridgeshire Country Side & Peterbourgh City Centre. Unfortunately as you approach the City along side the River Nene the unsightly tagging on bridges & other structures is a shame with excessive litter & signs of drug taking disturbing. Once into the City it is better cared for & the Cathedral is stunning.

Always know that the clubs sites are 5 star. This one is no exception. Clean tidy, well set out and so close to the park. Ideal
A. H.
Only walked past the caravan park but it's in a fantastic location.
Our grandson love to fly with his balloon there
C. P.
The park is idea for families dog walking great cafes in both parks cycling and sailing all good x reasonable car parking fees
D. Q.
Very good 'club's site. Nice welcome and helpful. My only gripe is the speed bumps...no need for them. At ALL.
I will stop now before I get really angry.
T. B.
Great site but poor TV service and mobile signal. Toilets are very unpredictable - we had no toilet/washing/shower facilities for over 2 days
C. S.
Plenty of space on this large site and even more over the other side of the road.
All pitches are flat. Shower blocks are centrally heated so you can shower in the warmth at 4.00am if you like. All to a good standard that's become expected with Caravan and Motorhome Club.
There is a bike loan scheme enables you to explore the huge Nene country park that the site sits within.
There's the Nene Valley Railway to take you into Peterborough aboard a steam train.
Your quite near to the East of England Showground say a ten minute car journey.
So a good base to plan a visit to the many events that are held there.
S. B.
Lovely big, dog friendly site split into 2 sides, East and West Side. East Side with the large children's play area if definitely the family side and is perfect for the kids to play freely on the park or on their bikes around the site and if you want a quieter stay then West Side is the best option. Good, clean facilities, currently open with Covid restrictions in place limiting numbers. Chip van comes 3 times a week and ice cream van comes every day! The best part of the site is how close it is to Nene Park which is beautiful, great for walks, cycling and water sports.
M. H.
Love this camp site, facilities are great and within walking distance to transport hub or into the country park. Staff friendly and helpful. Pitches are of good size with electric and tv hook up if required.
D. V.
Really lovely site the staff are helpful and friendly the site is really clean and tidy. Nene park is really lovely the walks around the lakes are beautiful. Pub just up the road and also the train into Peterborough. If you run out of anything Tesco express is a short walk away. We'll worth a stay at this site

A great place to go. Lovely pitches, next to Nene Valley Country Park, loads of great cycling or walking, close to Peterborough. Really great get away.
H. M.
Lovely site, very clean, staff helpful and always give you a smile, site is a short walk to the huge park, with plenty of paths and cycle ways, you can even walk into Peterborough from the site. Shall be back.

Already said GREAT SITE PEOPLE GREAT SERVICES GREAT AND CLEAN. location is wounderful. Got to the park and lakes plenty to do.
J. S.
Very nice site, spoiled by wardens who succeeded in making us feel an unwelcome hindrance on our arrival.
Despite our friends having a pitches either side of them, we were instructed to cross the road and pitch on the East side.
Whilst we sat relaxing on Saturday morning, someone turned up with an incredibly loud mower who spent the best part of 30 minutes mowing the small secluded patch immediately around us.
Whilst this activity could not have been postponed until Sunday lunchtime when the site was pretty much deserted, I don’t know. It just seemed inconsiderate, as was shutting the loos between 10:00 and 12:00, just as everyone was leaving, and may have needed to pay one last visit before a long journey.
Other than that, the area is delightful, loads of activities on the country park, and good, well priced food at nearby pubs.
C. E.
Great site and great location. Brilliant for people with dogs or bike riders. Love the steam train just down the road from the site
H.
Lovely site ,busy at weekends. Went when the weather was hot but managed to pitch under trees on the East side . Lots of walks and things to do cycling, sailing ,canoe hire etc.
D. C.
Been coming here for years, 2 large sites, Nene valley park right next to the site, us and the dogs love it!!

The wardens at the caravan club are unbelievable he approached. Me he was rude the site showed full on the grass 17 spaces took out of 100+
R. G.
Really nice park, well laid out and tidy.
J. M.
Beautiful caravan park and well looked after. We really enjoyed our stay.
Thank you to wardons, MARK and ANDREW for helping us to get the caravan moving. You gave us your time when we know you were very busy 😃 🙂

Absolutely brilliant caravan site. Excellent facilities, extremely clean and covid-19 safe. Brilliant hard standing pitches and so close to the excellent nene valley Park, which has superb dog walking.
B. H.
Lovely site, well organised and beautifully kept. The staff here are pretty amazing, very friendly and helpful. Lots to do nearby, good cycling and walking.
K. H.
Usual top standards, internet ok,quiet site in east and west sides, one mostly hard standing, the other mainly grassed,no recycling facilities though ! ,Fair distance to public transport. Excellent walking and cycling to Peterborough, five miles, from the country park, which is one hundred yards away.small Tesco ,half a mile from site.in the park, there is a cafe, toilets, miniature train ride, boat and cycle hire, parking. The Nene Valley steam railway station is just across the road and is well worth a visit. You can buy a day rover ticket to visit Peterborough, returning on a later train .I enjoyed my stay at this site.
C. M.
One of my favourite sites and open all year.

Lovely camp site and facilities are very clean and friendly staff. Made to feel very welcome.
J. R.
We've been here a few times now and still find it really good. The site is well kept and the wardens are friendly. Next to Nene Park which is great for walking etc. Will be back again soon.
J. H.
The site is next to Nene Park with many walks through woodland . There is a visitor centre with cafe and a Marina with a Farm shop and Cafe . It is three miles from the city centre which you can walk or cycle to off road.Childens playgrounds in the park.
The Nene Valley steam train is a short walk away .There is also a Beefeater Pub and a garden centre with cafe a 10 minute walk away . Golf course close by .

Always LOVE coming here. Beautiful site with close approximaty to ferry meadows park and peterborough centre. On our most recent trip we had a problem getting our awning up as it was a new caravan and first time out but we were rescued by Ian ( the geordie) who was FANTASTIC and without his help we would still be struggling. Many Many thanks to Ian and his wife.
Cannot reccomend this site enough would give 10 stars if I could.
😁😁😁😁😁

Lovely site. Clean and well kept. Plenty to do for kids with plat area and a country park 50mtrs away with loads to do.
P. H.
We live in Peterborough but as we took delivery of a new caravan last week we decided to stay at Ferry Meadows to get to know our new caravan before going on a trip to Scotland next month. We also had our grandchildren with us so thought it would be a treat for them. The welcome we got was warm and friendly. The site was well maintained as were the showers and toilets which were extremely clean. The pitch was a great size. We chose a couple of days of very hot weather and then there was a massive thunderstorm. There were mosquitos and we did get bitten but that is not something you can do anything about. The children had a lovely time and were very impressed with the play area. We have visited a number of different sites and this was up there with the best.
j. s.
Very clean well kept site that's divided into two parts. One side more for families and the other a little quieter but both very accommodating. Staff friendly and helpful. The big bonus is the country park and lakes on your doorstep.
P. R.
Large site, split into two areas. Very close to large country park, River Nene and Nene Valley Railway. Lots of walking and cycle routes. Good on site facilities.
J. W.
Nice relaxing site. A very large site, doesn't feel busy, even when it is! Nice walks in Nene Park for the dogs.
Dog walk on the site (east side) was poor as very small and only fenced to 3 sides so dogs had to be kept on a lead and our boys do what they need to do better off the lead. And bins became full very quickly although regularly emptied.
Clean toilets, good playground for the children
P. C.
Amazing with beautiful scenery and a gorgeous park and football pitch. A park only a walk away with waterworks activities and other activities. Perfect for all ages.
L. M.
Not sure why some bad reviews?
This site is brilliant. Amazing customer service from all wardens and assistant wardens. Went into the shop a few times and were served by friendly staff who are genuine and have a positive approach. Toilets, pot washing area and site itself are all clean and neat.
The site is a nice size with good sized pitches. We walked around the site, crossing the paths of wardens, each one said hello, or good morning- making the day so much more pleasant :-)
Can not fault any of the wardens/assistant wardens.
Really really good site with amazing staff :-) keep up the amazing work!
J. G.
Lovely tidy site. Friendly staff. Excellent location for the country park and lots of cycle routes nearby. Only thing that I would change is the time the bins are emptied in the morning. Got woken up by them 2 out of the 3 days we stayed.
A.
We were on the side without the big kids park, it was very good. We love coming here. They keep it very nice and a lovely place to stay for a little while. But, one problem, on the side we stayed, the ladies toilet door where you have to put the code in is very difficult to open. It and the buttons are a bit to stiff and is a struggle to open and put the code in. Besides that one little thing, it is an extremely lovely place to stay.
P. N.
Great site and great location, well situated for walking and cycling. Will definitely return..
C. L.
The Good points: we camped in non electric field, there are only 4 pitches so there was lots of space and also sheltered from wind. The facilities were good, nice family wash room and lots of clean toilets and showers. Awesome play grounds for kids on site and in nene park with little steam train, big wide green meadow for games etc. Bad points: BE WARNED! There was an issue with mosquitoes and I did get bitten a lot! Also, very close to town centre which you forget being in lovely park so make sure you lock your bikes, personal belongings up as bikes were stolen when we were there. Also, can be bit noisy late in night being close to pub, town etc.
S. T.
This site is well kept by the site wardens who are friendly and informative and very good at what they do. Amenities blocks are always clean. The country park is wonderful for both humans and our four legged friends. The park is also kept very clean and tidy. The public toilets are also well maintained.
B. B.
Lovely peaceful site wite nice big pitches
L. G.
Fun for all the family. Well run site with big pitches for Caravans & Motorhomes.
Location excellent
D. R.
Lovely site - the usual warm welcome on arrival - very handy for walks into Nene Park which is just ‘next door’ and a gem for walkers, cyclists & runners - there is usually the weekly Saturday 5km Park Run here in non COVID times.
H. L.
This is a large caravan and motor home site ,one of their many good locations, close to Peterborough and Nene Park with great walks .Very busy site, and well worth a visit.
I. M.
Fantastic site. One of the best we've been to. Flat good sized pitches. Spotless toilet block. 7 Good sized showers with seat and constant water flow (not press button as on many sites). Separate private cubicles and free hairdryer. Can choose your pitch. Lovely helpful staff. Newspapers can be ordered daily. Acres of dog walking next to site with lots for children to do. Close to Peterborough and many other attraction's. Open all year. What more could you want.
t. j.
We visited this site on 4th July 2020 when they reopened after the Covid lockdown. They were very busy, well organised and very friendly. Lovely clean site. Great staff and good facilities. The toilet blocks/showers had restricted wristband entry, but some just ignored this or walked off with wristbands, which left queues and other campers waiting around unnecessarily!! They were clean with plenty of hot water.
There are 2 sites opposite each other. We were in the West site, which is smaller. There is a small shop for essentials. The East site has a chippie van a couple of days a week and an ice cream van. There is a much bigger playpark in the East site. Great location for walks, cycling, fishing, water sports, twitching, golf and steam railway.
There is a pub nearby, but doesn't allow dogs. We walked to the Cuckoo at Alwalton. It says 30 minute walk, but closer to 45. 90% of it off road, by walking the Green Wheel. Lovely walk in Summer. Great food and large beer garden.
P. B.
Great site in a great position you can even hire cycle here
R. W.
Stayed at ferry meadows park had a brilliant two weeks kids loved it very much .staff are one in a million. Staff were very friendly very welcoming and would help you out in any way that they could.Very clean caravan park 10 out of 10 for cleanliness. Facilities were always clean and in perfect working order .will definitely be coming back to stay again in future. And plenty of attractions in walking distance.
M. L.
Lovely site , well run and very friendly staff , extremely clean vacilites and very close to lots of lovely walks and pubs
C. S. P.
We only live in Northamptonshire so this is very local for us....but for allowing us to winter caravan its perfect. The grounds are beautiful and we are right next to the nature park, love love it here.
A. H.
We love this site it has everything you want on a holiday. And a fantastic country park to walk or cycle around.
G. W.
This was our first visit and we had read previous reviews that to be fair were mixed. We had no problem with the staff who seemed professional and courteous
The site was clean and set in lovely grounds next to the Country Park, which is celebrating 40 yrs so there’s lots happening
Lots of children on the site but we expect this given its summer holiday time
Despite the bad comments we decided to have Fish and Chips which were perfectly satisfactory
The park next to the site is fantastic and the main reason for coming here. Stunning scenery and wildlife make this a brilliant location for young and old alike. Perfect for walking and cycling
We went by bus into Peterborough which is not far. The cathedral is the star here
We will definitely return here
m. s.
The site was situated perfectly for the purpose of our visit which was dog walking and relaxation.
Hard standing pitch, clean and tidy toilets and showers and a most convenient service point.
The wardens were friendly and helpful and the lovely Ferry Meadows country park is right next door.
The site was easy to find as well. Really hope to visit again so that we can explore the park a bit more
will I return it has got to be a yes as this a lovely quiet site with plenty do around the Nene park, walks, lakes, canal walk, Steam railway line, pub, and even a fresh herb box outside reception for people to use, even a garden centre thrown in just up the road. The pitches are very generous and very well kept. The staff are very helpful and will do that bit extra for you. Well done Ferry Meadows.
Thankyou especially to the warden who gave me some helpful tips on how to put our awning up as we have been struggling with this since we bought it.
Thankyou thankyou thankyou
D. B.
A very nice clean and peaceful site . Fish and chip van visits Friday and Saturday. Also right on the doorstep of Nene park with all its attractions.
N. S.
Lovely site and area, been coming here for years. Very unimpressed with the way COVID - 19 is being treated. The campsite is packed, Social Distancing left to the 'campers', no Hand Sanitising points at the Service Points, only notices to go and sanitise hands after using the area! The Fish and Chip van staff are not wearing masks or face shields, nor are those in the queue.
D. B.
First time here for me... I've come away without wife and son.... Just dogs! This is a truly wonderful site.. We have fabulous weather so this is helping with all the beautiful bike rides I'm having.. Sitting by river at mo on horseshoe walk writing this. Wardens are great.. Facilities are the best I've seen... Super clean in men's toilets. Everyone so friendly. Hope you enjoy your stay too.
D. P.
Lovely site with spacious pitches and next to Nene Park. Good for children.
K. S.
A great day out with the kids! A game of cricket before moving onto one of the many play areas. We all sat and ate on the grass by the lake. After the lunch the kids enjoyed a spot of den building in the wooded area. Plenty of clean, well maintained toilet facilities and a water fountain to refill your bottles on a hot sumners day! For those not taking their own refreshments there is a cafeteria where you can purchase food and drinks. A great day out for all! Well worth a visit
D. J.
This is a large well organised campsite. We stayed here for 3 nights in a motorhome on an all weather pitch with electric hook up. As with all Camping and motorhome club sites the park was following strict social distance guidelines which h meant only 3 people allowed into shower/ toilet block at a time which didnt appear to be a problem during our stay.
Site was clean and well maintained. We were lucky enough to experience the chippy van which visits the site 3 times a week and the ice cream van which visits most days weather permitting.
Good location handy for country park and lots of cycle routes including "The Green Wheel" which is worth a try. Also not too far from Burghley House.
J. D.
The site itself is very well run, tidy as you would expect. However, we have 2 newly adopted dogs, and were told off for allowing them to wee on site. They were being kept up against a fence, being walked off site to the dog walking area. Sorry, but it made us feel uncomfortable and impossible to stay on site as we would have done.
D. U.
Large caravan site divided by a road through the middle so West side busy but East side not so busy so if you want peaceful visit go on the East side. West side lots of hard standings, East side grass pitches but all with electric hook ups.
D. K.
Lovely site had a great week cycling.
C. S. (.
Lovely site very friendly staff
S.
Stayed here several times and love it. Easy access to the flat trail around the lake which is excellent for both walking and cycling. Nice spot for lunch or drinks next to the sailing club. The site it well maintained and ran. Can’t recommend enough.
C. a.
As with all Caravan and Motorhome Club Sites the facilities were excellent and well maintained. There were however some real oddities with the site. Why do you have to use a card pass to get out? In, I understand. Why are there not footpaths short-cutting to the exit which, from some parts of the site is a long walk round? Best of all why is the Motorhome grey water emptying point so positioned that the user vehicle has to block one of the access roads on the site and for which a vehicle with an off side drain point has to face against a one way driveway. The majority of the users in January seemed to be Motorhomes.
D. U.
Large caravan and camping site run by the Caravan motorhome club. Tents also allowed. Facilities open but precautions in place due to Corona virus. Site in two halves East and West hard standings on West grass on East side. Pitches arranged in clusters with some 12 on each. All pitches except some tent pitches have access to electric. Pitches mostly level and quite generous size. Lots of trees on site so some shade if needed. Plesant site near Nene Park so take the kids if you want it quiet choose East side.
A.
Usual standard under the conditions of covid, difficult for the hard working staff. Still strange restrictions within the toilets, but they seem to be working and as long as they do we can enjoy this great site near a great park!
A. “. L.
Great site, very clean and helpful staff. Very close to the park where there are plenty of walks and things to see. Close to the bus route that will take you into Peterborough and if you prefer to cycle or walk there are plenty of safe cycle paths through to Peterborough or throughout the area.
S. K.
It was our first time at Ferry Meadows but we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. There is lots of space between each caravan and the wardens and other campers are so helpful when we needed help. Had a slight problem trying to get into the toilet block but after a someone showed us the code all was fine. The toilet block is immaculate and pleasant to use.
We can't wait to go again soon.
M. H.
Beautifully located site just next to ferry Meadows water park. Campsite is split in two across a road which is a bit strange but was not a problem. A lot of grass pitches rather than hard standing but this was not a problem. All amenities clean and in good order. Nice play area for the kids too. Will definitely bring bikes next time to cycle round the park (2 minutes walk away)
P. D.
Great place, plenty to do, fairly peaceful, during week and in term time. Can be very busy rest of time. Great for motorhomes, easy reach to park, Peterborough (walking and by train or bike), pubs in walking/ biking distance. Good for dogs and children too!
J. M.
What a lovely friendly site. 1st time at this site and was welcomed by helpful friendly staff. Even the people camping here were all very friendly. Site right next to beautiful country park with loads of walks. The wardens even put on a hog roast, buffet, quiz and did raffle tickets for prizes, loved this site hope to come back
I. J. C.
A great site based within Ferry Meadows country park. Ideal for folks who need to rely on wheelchairs, or the like. Tracks nice and smooth and access into Peterborough is possible, having walked that route, along side my late husband, who was wheelchair dependent. A nice visitors centre c/w tearoom is within 10 mins walk. My friends and I had breakfast there. Also, in the opposite direction, is a garden centre, also within 10-15 mins walk and with a coffee shop. Next door to it is the Beefeater Granary. We had the Christmas menu there and was very good. Staff so helpful. Yes this site deserves 5 star rating + facilities are up to the expected standard of the C & MC
A. B. M.
Site is great always nice and clean. Staff are brill, and help if needed. The present manager has tidied up and made the site a lot more attractive over the last three years, than it was and is well maintained throughout
G. T.
My partner and I have been coming here for about twenty years ,twice yearly it's a fantastic place to visit so much to do . there are two caravan and motor home club sites here both opposite each other the main site is mainly hard standing's while the other opposite is mainly grass pitches..They both have good play areas for children also the Nene valley steam train station is just a short walk from the site .you won't want to go home our two Jack Russell's just love running free in the park .
H. S.
Quiet site in a lovely position away from road noise. Lovely to see some wildlife, even in January and -2 degrees. Squirrels & rabbits aplenty! Big spacious plots with 16 amp EHU. Toilet & shower block is immaculate. Loads of walks available from site. We walked along the river to the boathouse for dinner & back, about 5 miles. (And you can take your dog in). Friendly staff and a little shop onsite if you forget anything. We had a fab 2 night stay & will be going back. 👍🏻
D. R.
Chaos booking in no system in place queuing on ham Lane to enter site only one person booking in .Early days yet should improve hopefully.
J.
Large site divided into two by a minor road. Usually plenty of dogs. Lots of children at weekends and school holiday which tend to be attracted to the side with the play area. Toilet/shower blocks excellent and clean. Bus service to Peterborough with onward destinations from there.
D. W.
Busy on a Friday and pitching tricky unless you know the site. COVID restrictions OTT in toilet block. Wardens friendly even though busy.
D. L.
Arrived last night for a 3 night stop. Very quiet and tranquil. Check in straight forward. Just find a spot you like. Facilities very clean. You can go by train into Peterborough. The station is a short walk from the park. A bit further down you can catch the bus into town, which will cost you about £3 One way. Or you can catch a taxi for about £10 one way.
T. R.
Kids play area is much improved. Large pitches and good prices during the week in school times. Clean and tidy. Good showers. Will continue to visit.
M. G.
Excellent site, friendly and helpful staff. Has everything close by. Lovely walk and scenery. Cant think of any negatives. Toilet and showers really clean, loads of points to get water or empty waste. Will definitively try and return
S. C.
Lovely campsite, toilets and shower block very clean, well kept site. The only thing that let's it down are wardens who speak to you like you're children! The minute we arrived we were given lots of rules and told we would be watched!
m. l.
WARNING!!! BIKE THEIVES OPERATE ON THIS SITE!!! Nice clean site, friendly wardens, lovely area. Great for walks and cycling but not the most secure site. Was warned about theives operating in the area. Almost had our bikes stolen through the night. Luckily we heard a noise and we got up to investigate and scared them off. They are coming tooled up, Cutting through 2 good sized locks. Felt very uneasy knowing that a person and/or people are sneaking around your motorhome through the night. Shame because its ruining a very nice site.
c. c.
Always a great site, Lovely facilities, friendly welcome. Good to see and hear the wildlife! Easy access into the city by bus, even though it's a bit of a walk to the bus stop.
M. G.
A lovely lively site close to the town centre and Nene Park. The park has everything. Water sports , cafe , play ground , cycle paths and bike hire . The site is quite big therefore offering pitches to suit everyone. Three fish and chip nights a week , Ice cream van and extensive walks all around .
S. S.
Great quality & standard of toilet & shower block. Superb location to walk or cycle into Nene Park or small Tesco's.
R. S.
Excellent site for a great gateway. Perfect for families especially those with dogs. Staff are friendly, facilities are clean & there are ample toilets & showers. If you have a bike then there are cycle ways to everywhere.
D. A. (.
Fantastic place
Pitches are a great size , lots of space for caravan / awning & car.
Toilet is spotless at all times, we went when we had lots of rain so the grass sections were very sodden so you had to be a bit careful.
There is lots of walks & cycle routes around nene park. Plus a couple of cafe's on the park.
V. B.
Nice site , unfortunately the staff just seem to think the whole place is there just for there benefit.. not for the customers
L. C.
Enjoyed very much we go every year and sheldon next year

Well what can I say about Ferry Meadows Caravan and Motorhome Club Site? There is just too much! My husband and I (and our dog) recently spent 15 nights here 10th to 25th August and we had a fantastic time. I was a little worried after reading quite a lot of negative reviews..........I shouldn’t of worried at all!
Firstly, the campsite is excellent, split into two halves with one side focusing more on families and the other side being a bit quieter. We chose the quieter side on pitch 29, which was a lovely pitch with sun nearly all day. The only reason for choosing this side is our dog gets anxious with bikes, scooters etc. and we didn’t want him to bark and disturb other campers every time one passed our Motorhome. The site itself is lovely and very well run and maintained. The staff are very helpful and pleasant, particularly Alan who stopped for a chat or gave us a wave when he passed. He also gave us some great dog training tips and some great information about the area.
The site and facilities are spotlessly clean and all the staff go above and beyond to keep them this way - which is no easy task considering the state some people leave them in. There is a good system with security when arriving at site which keeps things running smoothly during busy times. A fish and chip van visits 3 times a week and an ice cream van in the evenings. A few items are also sold in the reception shop, but to be honest I didn’t really look much in reception, just popped in on one occasion.
The site is situated at the Nene country park which has an abundance of outdoor activities for families, couples etc. It is very flat for cycling, pushchairs, wheelchairs and the Nene Valley Railway is just outside the site. There are loads of places to walk and the pubs in adjoining villages were all nice with good menus (particularly The Cuckoo and The Woodman) so we never went hungry. Plus you can get everywhere on foot if you don’t mind a walk along some of the lovely trails. You can walk into Peterborough in about an hour (3 miles) and there are various routes to get there. We didn’t walk the same path twice other than getting from the campsite to the path we wanted.
On the whole, we had a thoroughly lovely time and walked the legs off our poor dog, who consequently snored all night 😂. Basically we just chilled.......walk, eat, drink, sleep and repeat!!
Fab site, thanks Alan and Dee, keep up the hard work.
P. H.
Excellent caravane club site on nene Park with lots for children adults to do.
G. T.
Great camp site! The kids had an onsite play area to keep themselves entertained which really helped the adults enjoy the trip! They have a fish and chip van at the entrance every evening too, if you struggle (or just too lazy) to cook on a portable burner.
Just round the corner there's also a watersports centre which we used to go sailing and kayaking. Would definitely recommend.
C. R. L.
Great place to stay. Well run site split into west side providing play areas for children and east side for more quieter pitches types. Site is immediately next to Nene Valley Park with lots of walks, open areas and lakes. Fabulous.
B. R.
Long wait to be served despite the appearance of lots of staff. Choice limited
S. M.
Very nice good dog walking fish and chips Friday's great
Lovely staff clean showers. Lovely park area. Plenty of places to look at near by Nene trains Peterbrough walks etc good for older and young. Disabled toilet showers.
A. R.
Superb site. Hard standing pitches. Arranged in oval sections. 16A EHU, usual standard wash blocks, plenty of service points. Near the NVR railway and close to Peterborough. Pubs nearby along with nice walks by the lake. Easy access from the A1. Good little shop inside reception.
N. P.
First time we have stopped there and it was Christmas, very nice site, clean facilities and well maintained, Christmas eve Carol singer's and and finger buffet organised by the warden's that was quite nice. Was made very welcome by the warden's that were friendly and answered any questions we had, will definitely be going back
P. L.
Toilets and showers are very clean, staff very friendly and shop well stocked, reasonable prices. Close to Nene Valley outdoor area. Good for walks and outdoor activities for children and adults.
I. H.
Been before , loved it first time , this time, not sure if it's the weather but there's mosquito's everywhere, didn't think to bring repellant, but thats no reflection on the site, it's friendly, level (smaller motorhome) child and dog friendly , it's a local site to me so very good for a quick weekend away.
M. H.
Ferry Meadows was recommended last year, as a great place to go and not being more than a few miles from home (it had the feeling of being miles away in the best possible sense), makes it a fantastic option for a weekend/Bank Holiday break - we were not disappointed.
Great staff and facilities and to top it all fantastic weather
Will definitely return in the not too distant future I'm sure
M. F.
Went on the East Caravan site, it was superb. Clean and newly mown, although the children's playground was closed due to covid. Lots of cycle routes around the Nene park.
i. p.
great place for all types people .dog walkers cyclists walkers and especially kids great adventure playground caters for everybody. campsite is best on circuit in my opinion my second stay this year so far and probably come again our favourite place clean peaceful what more could you want .5 stars not enough....
S. G.
Convenient for town centre and some.nice walks and cycle paths. Only 5 miles from A1. Well managed and great showers. Small shop on site too.
J. T.
Lovely site and the wardens very friendly. The site is split into two sites split by the road into Nene Park which is well worth a visit. Great base for exploring places like Leicester, Peterborough and Burghley House
s. r.
Beautifully kept site, with immaculate facilities, easy access from the A1. Friendly staff and plenty of room given to each unit. Close to Ferry meadows park and many cycle ways.
J. T.
Very nice site, week organised, good pitches, good toilets and shower block, helpful staff. We stayed on the grassy side where some pitches had been taken out of use due to the recent flooding. We will come again.
C. P.
A popular site that is split in two halves either side of Ham Lane. Can get very busy during school holidays, but the kids will love it.
The west side with reception is mainly hard standing, preferred by couples and older members. The east side has mainly grass pitches and is preferred by families with children.
The site sits just inside the beautiful Nene Valley Country Park. Plenty to see and do for all ages and abilities from this location, including walking, cycling, water sports, nature, golf, and steam train.
A fish 'n' chips van sets up on the east site three times a week, and there is a daily late afternoon/evening visit from the ice cream man. I can recommend both.
Supermarkets are a short distance.
I usually walk or cycle to a nearby Tesco Express, which stocks most things.
A. J.
Wonderful to come across a pair of swans on river Nene, swimming upstream with a cygnet nestled on mum's back, have never seen this before
P. C.
Brilliantly positioned for cycling or walking around miles of paths and walkways. A few nice pubs and eateries nearby. Will be back.
C. M.
Nice site close to park. Typical Caravan club, good facilities and pleasant reception staff. Just a few too many barriers now to get in. Also motorhome dump not the easiest for access. Cheaper prices midweek here.
m. p.
Great campsite with lots to do without using your car or Motorhome.
E. H.
What a fantastic site coupled with staff who go out of there way to help.
We arrived on site with a punctured jockey wheel and non functioning motor mover , good start to our stay.within a couple of minutes the site staff noticed we had a problem and came to our assistance we tried a puncture repair device that didn't work one member of staff fetched his personal tyre inflator to help and when that didn't work he even offered to loan us a jockey wheel till we could get ours repaired or replaced the next day.
All of the staff with whom we came into contact during our stay could not have been more friendly or helpful ,they are certainly great ambassadors for the caravan club.
we wil be returning very soon to fully explore this wonderful site.
J. W.
Can get really busy at times and the cleanliness of the toilets suffer for that. The grass pitches are great if you can get here early or you can get trapped in one or two less impressive areas .... in the middle
S. Y.
Loved it no complaints definitely recommend
C. B.
Nice site,lovely walks.
N. G.
Ferry Meadows is possible one of the best caravan sites going. Very well organised and run by the Caravan and Motorhome Club with excellent facilities. Easy walking distance to Nene Park
( 5mins) with great walks or cycling around the lakes. Very good for children with play area, steam trains and huge field for football/games etc. Great place to visit and relax or whatever you feel like doing. 5 🌟.
L. R.
Felt safe on site . Following all covid rules .
i.
It's a great site to stay at with a play area on each side for children. The ice cream van that comes around most nights is an added bonus too. I would recommend for those with children.
D. P.
Not good as no on site restaurant
A. R.
Great site, superb location with plenty to do for the whole family. Slightly odd having the site split over two sides of a road. Cafe in the park does great all day breakfast and only 10 min walk away.
D. B.
Lovely well cared for site, nice wardens. Cars leaving the country park very noisy, clanging constantly from 7 in a morning till 11 at night. Puts me off coming back.
N. M.
Nice site showers and toilets nice and clean and lots of hot water.
A. W.
What a rude warden Dee is! Arrived at 11:35, was told off for being too early, when I explained that the traffic wasn't as bad as expected we were told we should have waited in a layby!! I asked if we could pay while we waited until 12:00, told "no wait in your vehicle until I say so!" Not very friendly or helpful - felt like she was talking to a child!
T. M.
Came on 5th August cause hubby working here at the moment. We're now booked up til 1st November. Plenty of other sites around here but staying here as this is best by far. Friendly staff, kept clean and tidy xx
C. T.
Excellent site, very well run, spotlessly clean and staff very friendly and helpful
A. P.
Great year round site. Warden told us that dogs can no longer be walked/exercised on site (although I'm not sure how they could possibly police this), but not a big issue at this site as you are situated right next to Nene Park.
R. S.
Great site, good facilities, we'll laid out, neat and tidy, helpful warden. Special area for kids so great for them, quieter areas for older folk like me who are trying to escape the noise.
I. G.
A great place to family and friends to enjoy in all weathers (all though a warm day and a picnic sure make the best days!)
Charlie the engine takes the kids (and adults) across the park, segways group events are also available. Perfect for long walks, feeding ducks, playing in the parks or gmaes on the field. Dogs, Kids and the Adults will love it.
M. C.
Lovely, clean, friendly site. We come every year for that reason! Great proximity to Ferry Meadows country park and Nene Ballet Railway. Great boat rides on the lake.
S. N.
Superb location in Nene Park. Facilities at the high standards we come to expect from the caravan and motorhome club. The Stewards could not have been more helpful or friendlier. We will be back and thoroughly recommend this place to others.
a. H.
We have just spent 4 nights here, warden is a lovely man, he even knocked on every caravan with a little gift on Christmas day, a great clean site we would like to highly recommend.
I. H.

Great for walking, nature and education, loads of space just on your doorstep, the caravan site is well spaced out with superb facilities, beautifully clean and tidy, the "boss" is brilliant, along with the rest of the wardens.
J. W.
Lovely site.Clean big toilet and shower blocks.Friendly staff.Easy access into Ferry Meadows and nice pub for food and drinks located 5 mins walk away.Golf course and cycle hire to.
G. S.
Amazing surroundings very pretty and the kitchen bar and grill is well worth a look! Situated by the the river relaxing and unspoiled.
j. a.
Ok a bit busy campsite clean and comfortable. Also very central TV reception was poor when we were there. Otherwise plenty to do. Nene Valley railway and lovely villages (Oubourn) Hope I spelled it correctly
C. W.
Ferry Meadows Caravan and Motorhome Club site is a well kept and spacious site with the added convenience of having Nene Park just outside the gates. This gives lots of walking for dog owners, also on the large lake there are pedalos available to hire should you wish to get closer to nature. Running past the site is a heritage railway, Nene Valley railway, operating both steam and diesel trains at various times of the year. The on site facilities are of the usual high standard given its a Caravan and Motorhome Club site with well maintained pitching areas of both grass and hardstandings, though the grass pitches were closed during our stay due to the very wet weather.
b. H.
Best thing about Peterborough. Wonderful big dog friendly park. Loads of different ways to walk, along the river or roubd the lakes. Visitor centre does tea coffee snacks. Free loos there and at Watersports centre. Park free at Ferry Hill for two to three miles of uninterrupted off the lead walking in lovely park. Dog bins provided. Just watch out for warnings of blue green algae (posted around the lakes when it is a problem) as its harmful to dofs going in the water. We try to come every weekend as there are lots of different routes to take my dogs never get bored of Ferry Meadows. Love it here!
d. H.
I had a pitch booked in advance but was told to go find a place and let them know it's number. The site was very busy and it took me 15 minutes of driving around the one way system to find a vacant pitch.
I expected to be shown to a pitch or to be told which pitches were empty but no just "Go find one and let me know"!!! 1
T. J.
Lovely site, large pitch, spotlessly clean showers etc. Site kept clean and staff couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommend.
S. G.
Excellent site would definitely go back again
G. A.
Started out very good, was a bit restricted and made to feel like a criminal even though I had no intention of breaking the rules. Nice area with the park yards away.
D. H.
Big site and in children's holidays always full as it's right next to Nene Park. Out of season and during the week it is quiet and apart from Nene Park you can walk to a lovely garden centre.
M. B.
Nice site, brilliant position for some lovely walks on good generally flat paths.Good choice of pitches both hard standing and grass.Discount at Nene park cafes and Nene valley railway.
C. A.
Very friendly staff running the place. In the thick of things with ferry meadows activities. Near a city centre with good shopping but you wouldn't realise it from the site. My ideal of heaven!
J. H.
Lovely site located next Nene park. We'll kept with friendly and welcoming staff.
c. J.

K. A.
Lovely site and as always helpful and friendly wardens. Been to this site many times and its always clean and tidy. Would highly recommended
R.
Little bit of a unfortunate surprise to have shouty man lecturing from away over a fence when we had just arrived. Apparently, little Hitler type needed to enforce 'the rules relating to our dogs! Although there were no obvious signs, our trained and obedient dogs were off their leads when exiting our vehicle the moment we arrived when they got out of the car and stretched their legs before they had leads put on! Didn't mention the missing Achtung sign nor dogs can't read but was just so old Lil'Hitler! LOVELY LADY, did speak politely before but Achung attitude rather prevails!!! It's a supposed campsite but hey, some just have to be the Colditz Velkommen!
j. b.
