Stayed here for 3 nights. The room we had booked didn't show on they system. They had booked us into a twin room. But they sorted it very quickly and gave us a really nice room. Breakfast on Monday was really nice. The staff member serving us, very nice and helpful. Tuesday morning a different matter. What I didn't like was that the woman, who was on breakfast duty, wasn't very professional to me. She took our plates away without even asking whether we had finished or not. But that was a minor hiccup. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would not hesitate booking this hotel again.

We stopped over at the Bull Inn for one night.Upon arrival, the lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The room was very well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom had a really strong shower spray and was easy to control. All in all, a very pleasant stay in an hotel that is literally just across the road from the Westgate Shopping centre and a few yards from the theatre.

Loved it here. Beautiful old fashioned building. Lovely, friendly staff. Good rooms (on the warm side in the bedroom, but fans provided in the wardrobe). Great breakfast. Came on a "special" so I can't fault it for the price.

Very nice rustic look inside nice big pictures of our past monarchy. Nice warm feel inside with the setting. Front of house staff very professional. Used the venue today for training the room was adequate for my needs water in room as well as hand sanitizer. Masks optional when in public areas. There is parking at the hotel. Would use this venue again. Overall I liked the setting.

We booked the hotel very short notice and managed to get in late at night as it was the only hotel we could find , I’m very happy this was the only hotel we could find as the stay was absolutely amazing ! Staff where brilliant attentive and a great help. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was lovely and the rooms where spotless. The room came with toiletries , mini fridge tea and coffee etc
Would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.
Would give the hotel more 5 stars if I could !

Amazing value 2 night break found on Travelzoo. Rooms spotless and comfy beds, individual shower, shampoo etc which is unusual at these low prices. Towels also changed every day and room cleaned. A little disappointed that although the reception too a restaurant booking there was no restaurant as such! Although they were serving food in bar area. But it is the mad Christmas season and they had alot of people having party meals. Meal deal menu £22.00 for 3 courses ok but pretty basic. One member of staff went that extra mile and sorted out tables for us, took food / drinks orders etc before dashing of to do the Christmas party groups.A big thank you to Aneta. She definitely made us stay to eat and drink in hotel our group of 4went on to have a lovely evening and enjoyed the breakfast etc.

Had a lovely couple of days stay here. Had to walk a long way around after parking car as there was a huge puddle in the car park. Staff were extremely pleasant, polite and efficient. Room was lovely and clean, air conditioned (albeit a little noisy when on full). Two electronic keys supplied. Full size wardrobe, fridge, trouser press and iron in room. Hair dryer in bathroom but wasn't very powerful or warm (recommend taking your own). Shower was brilliant! Brewing facilities on a high shelf, excellent idea if you have young children with you. Had to ask for extra milk and sugar. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. No sockets near bed so had to leave phone charging on dressing table which meant having to get out of bed to turn alarm off. Loss of star as a bulb went in bedside lamp on 1st night of stay. Reported at reception but wasn't replaced and lock on door didn't work, had to rely on chain.
Building itself is very old with lots of lovely features.
Had sandwiches in bar on 1st night, they were lovely. Breakfast was amazing and good value.
Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Fabulous old coaching inn.Beautifully furnished and in perfect location to shops etc. Plenty of room to relax and chill in public area. Very comfy beds and good breakfast. Helpful staff. However we found the noise of doors banging from 5am quite disturbing. Soft closures on doors may need servicing. Car park at back.
P. S.
Our afternoon tea was excellent and our waitress also, didn’t get her name but she was from Russia, thank you for looking after us x

Excellent vfm. Good service. Excellent breakfast. Very good rooms, though the temperature can be lowered by a few degrees.
The taps for the shower and the bath need a good scrubbing, tho'.
Having a chocolate biscuit wth the coffee was a good thought and showed how he Bull can compete easily with larger chains like Holiday Inn and Marriott. And win.
Reception service much improved.
Parking a car and having it validated each time was a bit of a bind, as was the lack of lifts.
But when everything else was so satisfactory, it's a price worth paying.

Lovely place to stay, centre of the town. Comfy rooms. Efficient staff.
J. M.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds and good sized rooms. Breakfast was very good with fruit juices, yoghurt, cereals and full English with tea, coffee and toast. Hotel centrally located, very close to all amenities and sights. Definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Had a meeting here in the festival room. The staff were very accommodating. The room was a suitable venue. The refreshments and lunch were very good.
E. P.
I was not resident, but attended a private meeting in one of the large rooms. The food and tea was very good. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the place is very clean.

I tried the three course Christmas menu at The Bull hotel and I enjoyed the food and the hospitality. The interiors are warm and cozy and was beautiful with all Christmas decorations.Enjoyed our lunch

Great base for exploring Peterborough, town centre location with free parking. Our room was freshly decorated, very warm no air con but they provide a fan. Breakfast was good, staff were very helpful and approachable. My one negative would be that other guests doors were very loud when going in/out around us but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Would definitely recommend.
J. E.
Lovely hotel, staff very polite and helpful. Good breakfast. Would recommend.

We provided our inflatable photonooth for a local school prom, and it was a fab evening
Lovely venue and easy access. Many thanks from Gary James Discos & Photobooths
H. D.
Clean room, comfy beds, good shower, quiet and very helpful receptionist and you can get a really good pizza
M. H.
Firstly The staff are excellent and go over and above their positions, right the way through from car parking, housekeeping, bar, restaurants, Reception staff and night staff. They all work extremely hard.
I've had a catalogue of niggles for my stay but they were all dealt with promptly and efficiently.
Unfortunately we are in an older part of the hotel and although very clean rooms the decor is very dated and could do with a luck of paint and some extra touches. Having said that the rate for our room was competitive. Would definitely stay here again.
Well dobe
J. B.
Rooms were ok and food was ok. But the draught beer was rough and warm coke in your JD is never good.
R. Y.
Absolutely lovely hotel and the room is very clean and the staff are very friendly too the room has everything

We had our wedding reception there liked it ever since
M. B.
Lovely place to stay. Will be going back . Good food and very nice staff.

We went for afternoon tea which we had booked before Covid. The food was ok, sandwiches very nice, scone very floury, cakes ok, not enough cream or jam. Had to ask for tea cup to be changed when we had coffee, the waiter came with a cup, no saucer or spoon. Thank goodness we didn't take friends with us. We have been twice before and on both occasions it was very good, today it was very poor service and it wasn't even busy. Would not recommend at all.

Great hotel in the centre of Peterborough town centre 👌 quiet now so take advantage and take a break when 🛍
Clean and friendly
Lovely sauvignon blanc!
m. s.
A very nice hotel. The staff on reception were very welcoming and helpful. Recommend this place, very close to cathedral square and all shopping, dining places!
r. n.
I probably have slept in a more uncomfortable bed sometime in my life, but I can't remember it! Bad sleep and then a luke warm shower ! Not a good combo.
c. t.
Alway good quality here ..good food and drink with good service
i. f.
Went for a afternoon tea, finger sandwiches, scones with butter and jam, a selection on cakes and a Sorbie. It was very nice. Staff helpful and friendly a all round pleasant experience.
j. k.
Unexpected traditional decor. Went there for training so can only rate daytime service which was excellent. Staff very helpful. Training room sufficient for company needs -presentation equipment provided. Only minus was lack of lift in that part of the building as carried training equipment.
R. C.
A great place to visit for coffee. Just don't be in urgency of toilet as you need a code fiddly to enter
E. G.
Afternoon tea was ok with a Groupon voucher but would not pay full price in the future
W. L.
Had some lovely cocktails here.
r. b.
Had 2 coffees very pleasant and comfortable
S. P.
Friendly welcome at reception however did not provide the WiFi password but a quick phone call to reception resolved this. Room was big and clean with a nice selection of toiletries. Bed was very comfy however no sockets next to the bed was a negative. The restaurant has a good set menu. The food is tasty but service was very slow. Buffet style breakfast with a good selection but was a bit odd that you had to stand and wait to be served at the buffet. The rationing was a bit odd too. Only allowed one hash brown on a plate but could have as much bacon and sausage as I wanted. It seemed the hotel staff was a mix of experience and very little experience. The staff with little experience did seem to get confused and flustered but would manage to get things sorted eventually

I used this hotel to hold a Christmas party for the staff members of my company , end of November last year. I was so impressed with how professional Shannon from the events team was. I had three weeks to arrange this and she was so supportive and helpful every step of the way. Shannon is like a great bra, amazing support :-) The bull offer great value for money too and the hotel itself is exceptionally beautiful. It felt very homely from all the decor. The customer service of the staff at the Hotel was amazing too, everyone from the cleaners, to the Hotel manager ,is always happy to help you. We loved this venue so much we are very strongly considering returning for our Christmas party this year. The rooms were also very nice. I slept so well as the beds are really comfy ! I would strongly recommend this venyue for staff parties and i would consider it to for a wedding. Whilst there are no garden grounds because of the high street location, it is perfect for a Winter wedding
N. D.
A lovely quiet place for a drink and a meal etc.

Should be 1 star if the hotel was not so lovely, comfortable and by the fact that Liliana was such a good host in Reception. You can thank mostly Liliana for the 3 stars.
The experience with Ms. Aneta was different. First contact was to be asked if I was staying with Hotel when passing reception which I have politely confirmed. When going for Breakfast and while queueing I was called out of the breakfast queue by Ms. Aneta to approach reception where I was asked for my room number which I confirmed. I have rejoined the queue and was again called over to reception to be told that my room does not include breakfast and that I would have to pay. Now annoyed I have replied “So what?”. Not polite but by this time I had enough. Been in the Uk for almost 17 years and I can recognise a racially driven micro aggression and now I had been targeted multiple times in front of other patrons. I have rejoined the queue to be insistently called again to reception to be asked if I had paid a deposit for incidentals which could have been easily checked by Ms. Aneta. At this point I have told Ms. Antes that I had enough and requested check out and went for breakfast somewhere else. Which was cheaper and nicer. I will be placing a formal complaint with the Hotel.
Even if the treatment was not racially driven my looks and Ms. Aneta’s prejudice there is some space for improvement on customer service. Some training on discretion, unconscious bias and customer care is in order.
I would like this to be an learning event for the Hotel and that no consequences come out of this for Ms. Aneta.

Positioned perfectly in the city centre. Attentive staff and loved the 3 day break. Air con would have improved the experience as it was a hot weekend!
K. L.
I asked for a white wine and could only offer me Chardonnay which was disappointing. I then had a diet coke but it seemed to have been watered down. We then had Afternoon Tea and the bread for the sandwiches seemed very dry although the scones and cakes were good. A lovely pot of tea.

Nice stay at the hotel. Room was very clean. Slight issue with the night porter. After coming back from a meal and relaxing in the bar area the guy had a problem with one of our guests and said that we were all talking about him. Only saw the guy once and that was because I couldn't find the toilet and out of no where he appeared, to me that shows he was camera watching. But then to have a blazing row about the fact he believed the party we were with had nothing better to do but talk about him.
That was a very strange experience if im honest.
Bar that good value for money and the girls on the desk were nice and friendly
A. P.
Nice room, nice hotel, friendly staff, especially Ala in the bar, would recommend
m. m.
It's not too bad the room was extremely hot and had to have a fan on all the time

We chose this venue for our wedding reception. . The regal decor is exquisite. We had butler service to serve our 3 course wedding breakfast. Red carpet and dri ks on arrival! The service was superb. Followed by a buffet later in the evening. A little disappointing that there was so much food left over but we wasnt allowed to take it home. Even though we paid for it. If you decide to have your wedding here, I would say choose your options of food and times carefully. Having the buffet within hours after the wedding breakfast is way too soon. Guests were too full to eat! We stayed in the honeymoon suite for the night as husband and wife. The room was clean but The four poster bed could definitely do with replacing. The breakfast in bed service was a little disappointing. Really not worth the money. The staff cleared all our personal items off the wedding tables and placed them in the boxes that we provided so that was a great help. We also had afternoon tea here on our 1st anniversary. Service was good but like anywhere that serves afternoon tea, is very much over priced. Would i recommend this hotel? Yes. The location is perfect if you live out of town and need a place to stay over. The hotel is pricey but its clean and has good service.

Stayed over Christmas and had a great time. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was very nice. The room was really nice but my girlfriend appears to have been bitten by bed bugs. She has contacted the hotel about the issue but never had a call back which was disappointing.
Y. N.
Good lunch in civilised surroundings. Reasonable price.

You can sense the age and atmosphere.A great stay.Relaxing with cheerful, helpfulness from all the staff. The food and room was very tasty. The Bull Hotel is located centrally in Peterborough and is apparently haunted by a dog,but we didnt experience anything going 'woof' in the night..
E. S.
Very nice interior, and beautifully decorated, but it took ages to find the car park! The post code takes you to the wrong side of the bollards, so you have to do a loop and approach it from the other side. We visited the hotel to have afternoon tea, which was nice. Not everything looked homemade, but it tasted fine. The tea was teabags, not leaves, so a bit disappointing. The service was good.
B. M.
Let's start by saying that for the most part we liked the hotel. I like to think of it as a very good three star hotel rather than a not up to standard four star hotel. Staff are all friendly. They struggle in the bar. There is a cocktail menu but don't have the ingredients for a lot of drinks. Staff apologise saying that aren't trained in this.
Breakfast is a little disappointing & definitely not worth the £15 per head. However overall I like the hotel
A. R.
Went for afternoon tea, beautiful table set with lovely China tea sets, all mismatched which adds to the charm. Lovely setting for the baby shower of a colleague. Sandwiches very nice but only 4 each, the waitresses took away the couple left on the tray and didn't ask if we had finished. Cakes and scones OK. I have had better at my church afternoon teas and half the price but I am used to such a high standard. A delightful afternoon in a lovely setting.
M. C.
Yearly Christmas man beers visit. Apologies for laying on the table. We'll be back.
R. A.
Lovely hotel, fantastic location and very kind staff. Had a booking elsewhere which was awful, and booked here out of desperation. Ashanti (i think that was her name) welcomed me at the desk and was very patient and understanding and made me feel very at home.
Rooms are a bit old school, but clean and well presented.
Location is ideal, situated just in front of the lovely Westgate Arcade, and with free secured parking. Breakfast is sort of what you'd expect from any hotel, but again the staff were so friendly and happy to help.
Would stay again!
M. R.
Visited for afternoon tea. The restaurant was almost completely empty; we were seated immediately and there was little delay before the food arrived. The sandwiches were basic but unlike a trend I've noticed elsewhere were not dry. The scone and cakes were good, the sparkling wine nice if nothing special and the tea hot and plentiful. Good value, well looked after, happy to recommend.
F. O.
Beautiful old fashioned building super afternoon tea particularly when cheaper on Groupon. Comfortable seating areas to meet and relax with a drink. Excellent murder mystery evening. Dinner was delicious.
J. C.
This is a really nice hotel nice and central for the pubs and there is a shopping centre opposite and lots of shops on the street next to it. The rooms are clean and our bathroom was a good size. The staff were very pleasant in all departments. The one thing our party was not keen on was being served the cooked breakfast, they do prefer to help themselves but the food was nice with a good choice. I would stay again in the hotel but Peterborough is to far away from Newmarket races for my liking.
M. M.
Great hotel to say the least! Amazing place with amazing atmosphere and very friendly staff. Great variety of different meals and drinks in the pub and restaurant! Very spacious rooms with lovely bathroom. Best location!
Recommended and will definitely visit again!
C. D.
Wow a big makeover! Pleasant rustic layout with small restaurant section adjoining the bar. Really nice. Still small but perfectly formed! Menu is very user friendly! Sandwiches we had on rustic bread with ham n mustard, roast pork and stuffing were delicious and was £5.95 with a salad and dressing and crisps. Good value. Cooked options looked like healthy portions. Give it a try it's good value and very welcoming!
K. S.
A cracking hotel! Very smart for what I paid for a room. Great cooked breakfasts. Located in the bang on centre of town which was nice. Want disturbed by the Saturday night noise at all and was on the first floor. The bar is really quite expensive when compared to other pubs/bars locally. Great experience overall. Makes being in Peterborough a bit more tolerable. 😊
N. S.
Played here for new year's Eve. Lovely venue, staff were fantastic, bedroom was comfy and food was good (we only had sandwiches at the bar but they were nice and well presented). The guests at the event had a great night and the venue had clearly put a lot of thought into the evening and their package, which clearly paid off. Only tiny niggles were heating being difficult to control in the bedroom, lighting wasn't bright enough to do make up well and the room was a little predictable and middle of the road - not as nice as the communal areas. Certainly nothing bad to report, most definitely more good than bad. I'd stay again if in the area :)
S. l.
Exquisite place to stay top notch in my eyes amazing rooms and showers.
Breakfast was okay but not the best. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Only thing wrong is the price on drinks in there £4.50 a pint 🙄🙄🙄 we ended up just going out anyways because your in the middle of the town centre so theres loads to do while your out there there was was about 30 of us that stayed there because we all went to decoy lakes for the weekend so the hotel is bang on because its only a ten fifteen minutes drive 👌🏼👌🏼 happy days
M. G.
On the inside it's very nice, I liked the layout and the service I received was excellent. A good meeting place for drinks with colleagues and decently priced. The only drawback for me is the location - very busy outside and lots of traffic. Taxis blocking the road and doesn't make for the nicest of settings. Good for drinks, so did the job
J. S.
The afternoon tea was delicious. We had a glass of prosecco to start with and then a pot of tea. We all had the same sandwich selection, but one of us had the savoury selection (see middle photo which was a cheese scone with chutney, a quiche and a samosa) and the rest of us had the traditional one which was a scone with jam and cream and cakes.
s. c.
We went for Christmas dinner. Brilliant atmosphere and staff very attentive and had a laugh with you. Food unbelievable and lots of it. There was even a singer there while you ate. Highly recommended and will be going again next year.
J. D.
Would stay again for sure. Ample free parking, very clean room. Very good service. Good facilities, couldn't ask for more for a very good price. 4 star because I never had any food there. If that was good too then it would get the full 5 star.
P. R.
Used to really like it here, but this time there was a shortage on drinks, and the barmaid really didn't have a clue unfortunately and kept having to ask my order as she was busy chatting and a lanquage barrier even though I was the only person at the bar!
Just not getting the service we're used to or pay for here now.
M. l.
Very nice traditional English hotel well located in the centre of Peterborough. Decent size rooms with a shower that tall people fit under! Good size secure car park at the rear, that leads you straight into the hotel. Breakfast was ample and we'll cooked. Choice of coffees would have been good at breakfast and my room was a bit noisy from the kitchen extractor fan, but would stay again.
M. H.
Lovely place for a Christmas work party. Service was swift and the staff very helpful. Food was a bit average in places with some rather dry turkey. A shame but not a deal breaker
J. R.
I have fond memories staying at the Bull, The service and stay was excellent.
B. F.
My room was lovely and almost too comfortable to get up in the morning! The staff were friendly and also very helpful when I realised that I had left an item behind in the room. The bar area is very relaxed and was a lovely place to have a few quiet drinks with friends in the late evening.
C. B.
Clean and tidy with nice staff. Unfortunately room 124 has an air conditioning unit next to the window, this did not turn off at all during my stay and sent a droning noise into the room keeping me awake. I was allowed to park motorcycle near rear entrance door and out of site from the public which was really good.
G. C.
The Bull was a happy find. The building is old and has a lot of character, but still has modern amenities and comfortable everything.
The staff was helpful and friendly. The towels were soft. I'd be happy to stay here again.
The location is excellent, a short walk from Peterborough's history sights and the train station.
R. G.
Outstanding Place, Food and all the very helpful staff.Going back in four weeks for more pampering and drinking. Room also was very Outstanding.
S. B.
I do not know how this hotel has 4 stars when it doesn't have a lift/elevator or air conditioning in all rooms. I have just returned from a 4-day stay and it was ok. However, the "how to find the carpark" information on their website hasn't been updated to reflect local road closures, of which there are many; also the service at breakfast on a one-to-one basis is excellent until there is a sudden influx of people, and then there are simply not enough staff to seat, serve and clear tables. Rooms were obviously being done up during my stay - thankfully I was far enough away not to hear the noise or smell the paint and glue unless I was walking past. I know others from my party were not so lucky. My feeling is that although this was once an extremely comfortable establishment, it hasn't quite kept up with the times. The bar staff also require more training as they hadn't hear of Cointreau, which isn't that uncommon a drink. Also this is the first hotel that I've ever stayed at that shut the bar before all the residents were ready to finish their night.
S. B.
Good hotel in the centre of town. Car park entrance is very hard to find, so do reads hotels directions first. Road looks like a dead-end but hotel car park is through an archway on the left. Bedroom clean and modern, restaurant and bar.
T. W.
Some staff extremely helpful and friendly, others let down the ambience.
Very good value for food and drinks.
A quaint maze inside the hotel that takes a little making sense of, but easy enough to get around.
It is certainly of higher standard than nearby alternatives, though think it is overrated simply because of alternatives not due to its own merit.
P. M.
Stayes at the Bukl many times reception staff, bar staff fantastic. Comfy hotel need bit of TLC. Breakfast was disappointing long wait, not offered tea or toast had ask after long wait for breakfast as nothing cooked on hot plates, and what was there beans, Tom's been there to long. Shame.
B. C.
Friendly staff & clean venue. Only complaint would be the warmth of the room, did manage to find a fan in the room so was tolerable. Would stay again when in Peterborough.
B. O.
Was shown to a table by a pleasant smiling young man who displayed confidence and traing. Unfortunately he disappeared to work elsewhere. Breakfast quality not 4 star, rubbery fried eggs and the rest was only just warm. Breakfast pastries were clearly carried over from day before and not fresh coked on the day. It's a buffet but not self service so had to wait for the girl to finish shuffling around a table whilst clearing it, to be served. Service sparce and slow, definately not fast and attentive as you will expect from 4 Star hotels. The rest of the hotel seems in line with a classic and historic 4 star hotel. I was in a meeting room for the day which was well equiped and spacious. Overall a good experience but sort out the breakfast quality please.

This used to be one of our regular hotels for
their Christmas and New Year event's when we lived in this area.
Ideal location right in the city centre and a short walk to the shops and restaurants.
Spotless room and plenty of seats in the lounge area.
Having a car park makes this a perfect location.
M. W.
Really comfortable hotel in the heart of the city. Situated opposite the Queengate shopping centre, there are lots of pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for evening meals and the cathedral if on a leisure break. My room was comfortable with a great bed. Tea and coffee in the room and free wi-fi as you would expect these days. A quiet peaceful nights sleep and a good breakfast to start the day. Short walk back to the train station. I'd recommend this hotel for location, comfort and convenience. I'd be happy to come back again.
G. W.
Lovely central location and surprisingly quiet too. It is good that you can easily get parked. The hotel is stunning and had great history. The staff are friendly and helpful. The menu is great and has a good range.
C. F.
Just enjoyed afternoon tea at the Bull Hotel with Prosecco! Fabulous. Each morsel was delicious, from beautiful sandwiches to tiny tasty pastries and scones. Attentive service. Would recommend.
S. C.
Very comfortable traditional hotel right in the centre of Peterborough. Easy access to the station - about 10 minutes walk and large private car park. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Pity the real ale had run out... that cost you a star I'm afraid!
D. A.
Used here as a venue training. It was pretty good and the refreshments were plentyful.
Only issue was that the toilets were hard to find and seemingly miles away in a maze of corridors.
Would use again though.
J. D.
I had a positive experience here. Rooms were clean, modern and well kept (coffee, tea and biscuits always restocked). Reception was courteous. Location was good. Breakfast was good too.
Some people have said bad things about the food and prices for the lunch and evening meals, but who eats lunch or dinner at the hotel anyway? I mean, c'mon...
M. W.
Decent breakfast and central location. Room was a little dated though and very warm. Fan didn't touch the sides so required the window (which seemed to open onto a flat roof accessible by other rooms' windows) to be open all night. A number of DIY filled holes around the room. Shower leaked all over floor even when using curtain as instructed. No coffee in room. Didn't check out the other facilities.
R. W.
I went for a beverage at the bar with a friend and the bar staff were very friendly and helpful. They were welcoming even though it was late at night and they advised that public have to leave at midnight unless staying as a guest in a room. They gave us extra time to finish our drinks so we left at half past 12. It was a good experience and will definitely go again.
K. S.
We popped in The Bull Hotel for a meal on our way to visit our new grandson. It was lovely, the staff were polite and friendly, the meal was delicious and the surroundings were wonderful. Comfortable, clean and tasteful.
A. P.
Lovely historic building, friendly staff. My only gripe is that all room don't have air conditioning. The car park is secure and it's handy for the city centre. I've stayed twice and will stay again.
d. B.
Held my wedding here on 3rd June 2017. Absolutely wonderful day. Food was excellent. A special thanks for Shannon the event organiser for making the day go without any problems. And for all her help in the organising beforehand a brilliant member of staff.
A.
Great stay, room was lovely, shower was very powerful. Only gripe was the twin double which meant I couldn't sleep in the middle. Beautiful grade 2 listed building. Would stay again.
A. A.
Good quality Hotel in the centre of Peterborough. Rooms clean and well furnished. Very welcoming bar and restaurant staff. We ate in the Brasserie - top quality meal at reasonable price.
R. P.
Food is really good and rooms are warm and reasonably comfortable. Unfortunately the air conditioning was quite noisy. Bar staff were excellent but breakfast was a little slow.
N. B.
Good hotel, just after staying here 4 times in the last year I have never felt that the staff here really give their all in being polite and welcoming. My last stay here was the worst of the four visits. Disappointing in terms of service but a pleasant enough stay which is comfortable enough.
b.
Manned, and polite reception. Excellent interior. Bar and food served till late. Very helpful staff, when I got lost inside (hotel is not small), offered help themselves without me asking. Would come again.
g. r.
Great little room. Arrived around 1am agter 30 hours on planes and trains. The cool little pub off the lobby was still open. Room was very nice, with a tiled bathroom, warm shower, free wifi. Couldn't crawl out of bed in time for breakfast though.
A. v. H.
Nice hotel with very "pillow full" room. Al least 10 on the bed. So choice enough . Near to city centre and train station. Breakfast is good and nice quality, it could have a bit more choice. I would certainly come back.
C. H.
Booked an afternoon tea through Groupon. Staff werent too welcoming. Arrived a few minutes early and had to sit in the waiting area for the table to be set. Food was lovely. Lots of other customers around us complaining of various things.
M. P.
Good and clean rooms
H. R.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is brilliant. Atmosphere is relaxing, love it. Resident DJ also provides a good night.
J. W.
Nice hotel. Rooms are very good. Bed a little uncomfortable for my liking.
Breakfast not so good. Food only just luke warm. In general its ok and once you fi d the car park its a secure and safe one.
J. R.
Don't let the view from the car park, or indeed the difficulty finding the car park, put you off this clean, comfortable hotel. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Excellent shower.

Main area of the hotel is nice and staff are very attentive, but the only thing that lets it down is the room which could do with some updating. However it is very clean, good WiFi and comfortable bed.
D. R.
Visited last Saturday for lunch while in Peterborough. It's got a nice quirky informal feel although can be hard to get a table. Food was good, the rump steak burger in particular. Not so sure about the recent addition of pickled onions to the fish and chips meals.
P. P.
Beautiful, clean hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. However, I am 190 cm tall and when showering it was difficult to wash anything higher than my shoulders.
D. L.
A lovely hotel close to all amenities. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Only downfall was the bathroom needed work, though it was clean.
The hotel had its own bar and restaurant.
C. H.
Lovely building in the heart of the city. We had a table of 30 and the food still arrived quickly and was very tasty. Good selection of real ale, including JHB which is delicious!
S. G.
Good facilities and really nice food. Would be five stars except for the parking. Not enough spaces and if we had found a space the charge would have been extortionate.
j. A.
Excellent service and food was delicious. The lady who served us was very thoughtful and treat my dad like he was a king, helping him to our table and gave him extra care. Well done to you all
D. H.
Comfortable, didn't really use facilities, few people having what looked like tasty well presented cream teas, thanks to the receptionist who guided my drunk friend to his room at 3am
d. j. d.
Excellent service, high quality food, good atmosphere. Superb guitarist.
Some noise guests complaining and belittling staff, but not sure what there was to moan about.
P. L.
without any doubt this is the best hotel in peterborough, great staff, super easy check in, very large car park at the rear, good restaurant and good choices of drinks. quality comfy chairs in the lounge area. give it a try you wont be sorry you did. peter nolan letts
V. B.
Good service, caring staff and in general enjoyed my time in there. Besides, I have been going there for a while - quaint, cozy feel and nice place to spend on Saturday for a drink and meeting with friend 🙂
j. s.
Just went for a few drinks, really nice atmosphere and reasonable price drinks. the toilets where clean and tidy but just had a slight smell to them. seating areas where cozy and relaxing.
R. G.
You pay a bit more for drinks but its a nice quiet place where you can actually have a conversation. The menu looked good too.
F. E.
The staff were very helpful and when tv wasn't working moved us to a better room.
M. k.
Stayed a few times here and no real issues. Rooms little aged but friendly staff
K. N.
Exceptional staff, particularly Ian. Very friendly and helpful. Great location although the room was quite small. Would stay again!
D. “. C.
Great looking interior and exterior, close to local amenities in Queensgate, comfortable room and friendly staff. Would stay again
M. M.
I visited the bulls head for the first time to meet friends for drinks. I am happy to pay a premium for hotel drinks when good service is provided but when the barman's communication skills are not fantastic and I have to ask for pints to be topped up when they are obviously short I am not so forgiving.
N. S.
First in. Last served. 25 minutes wait for drinks. Carbonated drinks flat. Complaint not investigated. Pigs without blankets. Same meal which was returned was sent back to another member of our party. Bread roll not cooked.
J. O.
I love the bed and breakfast feel to it. The rooms are adorable and warm. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Food is also good. Smack in the middle of town so everything is within reach. Including some peri peri chicken from nandos.
g. a.
Nice room. Awful untrained staff at the bar. Not what it was....you can see the owners are filling it with cheap young Labour without any thought for customer experience.
M. S.
Pleasant hotel conveniently located in the heart of Peterborough. The rooms are a reasonable size but have got to the point of where the hotel needs to spend some money repairing all the little details (cracked tiles, missing screw covers, scuffed wallpaper etc).
Breakfast was sadly understaffed and it took over 5 minutes before we could get anyone's attention to get a table. The coffee that we were promised when we sat down arrived just as we were finishing.
J. G.
Pleasant surroundings and friendly service. Can be very busy with wedding receptions but rooms are still quiet.
S. H.
What a beautiful hotel loved the building and rooms
The breakfast is a big disappointment
I can't stand breakfast just sitting for hours getting all stale, dry and crispy, looked very unattractive and unappetising!!
Such a great shame!
J. B.
Had a really good day at the bull hotel celebrating my best mates wedding. Only 1 problem and that was the beer pumps weren't working in the private bar. That's the only reason I marked it down 1 star
A. B.
Just got back from having afternoon tea it was excellent food was excellent and the waitress was really accommodating nothing was too much trouble would defiantly recommend this place for afternoon tea hopefully you will get the same waitress as I got cus she was excellent .....
M. R.
Went to the boxing Day lunch.
Pleasant food, good service and an excellent live guitarist.
A thoroughly pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
W. P.
Awful lot of money for a Xmas party with under par cold food. Service was not good either, very disorganised. The only thing that saved it was the Murder Mystery Play as entertainment.
M. P.
Comfortable room and good food try the brasserie if you can. Friendly professional staff made my stay enjoyable.
B. P.
Excellent city centre hotel with great rooms. Very clean and excellent staff. Nice bar and restaurant. Best location for a trip to the city ... highly recommended.
T. C.
Lovely food you are treated well in the restaurant. I did try and book a reception here but the staff were quite difficult about it so I didn’t bother.
B. N.
Not really 4stars hotel according to the EU norms... not the best access for disabled people in wheelchair. Doesn't have an elevator and for this only cannot be considered 4 stars.
J. M.
Clean and tidy and food is good however the room I was in on ground floor was noisy . The noise was from other guests talking in their rooms so soundproofing could be better
j. r.
Nice friendly staff. Food is good. Rooms are good, although beds are not the biggest in the world. Recommended
F. F.
The place is lovely inside apart from the dining area we had afternoon tea in. Very little atmosphere and the afternoon tea itself was very disappointing and over priced. Wouldn't recommend
T. B.
Nice carvery on a sunday but what made it 4 stars is the staff were extremely attentive. Would definitely return.
P. H.
Free parking, lovely clean room. Freeview on the small TV. Check-in was busy, only one member of the team at a peak time.
D. W.
Very nice place to stay. Nice rooms with comfy beds
A. J. H.
Friendly staff and good restaurant in a convenient city-centre location. Only significant downside was that some of the rooms could really do with some new beds, or at least mattresses.
k. k.
Place is really good for bookings and party had a work Xmas party amazing except need to spend 10£ to pay with card. Cmon it's 2016 and still this thing. 4 stars only for that
S. K.
Great place, good location friendly staff.
K. H.
The car parking is a bit limited and the car park entrance is quite difficult to find. The interior is nicely decorated. The staff are friendly and cheerful. It is located in the centre of Peterborough opposite Quensgate Centre.
M. B.
Surprisingly good for a city centre hotel. Comfortable bar and dining area. Interseting selection of food and really well stocked bar. Pleasant experience alround.
K. D.
Nice hotel. Stayed for a family wedding good function rooms. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Good service
H. S.
Excellent hotel...five stars
J. R. W.
We just stooped off for a drink so I can't comment on the rooms but the entrance and bar area where lovely, the staff very helpful and the atmosphere very cozy .
R. M.
Magical Christmas hotel!! We always return at Christmas. It’s a home away from home with excellent rooms, friendly staff and AMAZING food. Great location right in the town Centre!
d. b.
Friendly and relaxing for a quiet drink with friends.
M. P.
I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this was certainly one of my favourites. Only negative was the TV - pretty old with no schedules I could find. Not enough to knock off a point though.
E.
Nice setting and interesting decor. Room was perfectly fine, bed comfortable, didn't stay for breakfast but looked good!
A. F.
Nice hotel, beautiful Xmas decorations tho finding their parking is a nightmare! I didn't, use any other as you would waste your time.
D.
Afternoon tea, food was ok but fruit scones very dry would of been nice to have a table cloth? Don't think we would visit again.
N. C.
Been to a few events here and it's definitely one of the nicest hotels in the area. Great food and really nice rooms!
J. R.
Good and decent hotel. But for Peterborough, it's looks costlier for the place. Even in London we are getting a cheaper price, this too much for the place it's located.
I. A.
Antique vibes if that's your kinda thing
j. k.
Lovely hotel room was great. Could not arrange an early check in before 2pm so had to hang around.
H. A.
Had a lovely work do here over Christmas. The bar was a bit slow however the hotel looked after us well
M. P.
Despite a few glitches, the staff were excellent and issues sorted quickly.
S. R.
As always, the bull hotel provides a classic, clean and professional atmosphere. Friendly staff and good quality food add to this great experience.
R. H.
Classic coaching inn. Friendly and efficient staff. Clean and comfortable room. Great central location. Guaranteed car parking.
M. B.
An amazing entrance, rooms were nice, pub meals and good selection of beer. I enjoyed the breakfast.
J. H.
It was a pleasant enough hotel. The rooms where satisfactory and the offroad parking was nice. Overall very standard satisfactory experience.
J. D.
Loved it. Very popular with the locals. Staff were fabulous. It gets very popular at lunchtime but the food is good.
D. C.
Fabulous place an absolute favourite
E. D.
We went for a Mother's Day tea of sandwiches and cake it was all very nice and the staff were friendly and attentive
T.
Friendly staff, close to the bus station and the room was clean. Not much of a view but for the price, well worth it.
J. H.
Drinks were a little expensive and the food wasn't very nice at all, but the staff were really freindly and everyone had a good night, there was plenty of space for dancing and socialising
O. S.
I've stayed there just for two night's. Everything was fine. Located in the center of the town, close to railway station.
C. M.
On reviewing this hotel I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer attention to detail that is focused on the customer it was amazing an amazing experience and it will be a pleasure to visit again!
S. D.
Food tasted nice but it was not worth £45. This was a birthday gift for me and far too expensive for what we got
L. H.
Had afternoon tea, food was kind of ok but wouldn't have again, staff were very pleasant though!
Car park annoyingly expensive!
S. P.
Nice historic place good for a function staff mixed bunch some very good some can't be botherd meaning some bar staff and waiter's but generally good
S. T.

Nice hotel, staff we're good, first room smelled smokey, buy they moved me to a much better room , nice breakfast
