Brilliant night celebrating NYE here. Lovely environment. Nice crowd. The staff were both efficient and warm and welcoming. The comedy was good. The food was excellent Definitely freshly prepared and not food service. Plus, I have a couple of food allergies which they catered for without issue, giving me complete confidence to enjoy myself. Will definitely be returning.

Spent a rather enjoyable 4 hours lunch catching up with a friend over excellent wine and a fantastic deli platter. The baked camembert was out of this world. Fitz, the owner, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The staff were attentive but not too in our faces. We were seated outside on a sunny day, overlooking the harbour, and time just flew. Being from Manchester, I found this to be exceptional value for money, at least 1/3 cheaper than I'm used to. Already booked in again to try the seafood platter in a couple of weeks time. If you're reading this Fitz, open your second in Westhoughton!

Wow what a find, don't miss out. Stunning food and hosts who really go the extra to ensure your best experience. The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, great quality and value for price and can cater for intolerance. Lovely atmosphere, really know their wines (obviously) the clue is in the premises name, we did come away with a stunning bottle of Portuguese red as recommended by the owner, not disappointed. Will definitely return and 💯 recommend.

We attended the Christmas Party last night and it was amazing! We arrived a bit late so we had to sit outside but the owners were very attentive and accommodating and we were given pillows, blankets, hot water bottles and our own heater. It was such a cozy atmosphere and the music was amazing. The food and drink were also 10/10 and the owner came to sit with us and chat on multiple occasions! I recommend this place highly and thank you for such an amazing evening, great team!

Visiting Plymouth and read about this cool place. I love a library, but a wine library is completely my thing. Fitz, one of the owners is the most enthusiastic wine connoisseur. Breakfast @ HonkyTonk. Fantastic breakfast at the HT last weekend. Tried their sharing platter which is easily enough for 2 people and came with a great selection of fresh fruit, avo on toast, perfectly crisply bacon! sweet waffles and pastries. Filled croissant also excellent. Great service as always.

Went here for my husbands birthday on 26th November. Absolutely wonderful food and the wine suggestions matched perfectly. The staff were fantastic! Sharing boards are really great value and so tasty. Nice to see the fish/meat option changes depending on availability of local produce - moules marinière on this particular weekend and you could smell the delicious garlic upon entering the venue. Great decor and wine too. Also, so lovely to see a mini toiletries shelf in the bathroom which is a nice, considerate touch.

Sadly, at the moment, hidden behind hoardings because of building work next door, this is still a lovely place to visit. We tried the four-cheese cheeseboard and, as you can see in the photo, it was a real feast and very well-presented! Service was friendly, helpful and efficient. We'll be back again, hopefully with a view of Sutton Harbour next time 🙂

Fabulous! Our first visit and we will definitely be returning. A great bottle of Cava and the most delicious Seafood Sharing Platter. Super fresh fish cooked to perfection, and the Moules was one of the best we've had, as was the Mackerel Pate and Squid. Despite trying hard, we still couldnt finish everything it was so generous. Excellent service and a great vibe.

The cheeseboards at Honky Tonk are beautifully presented, almost like works of art that are a shame to destroy! The staff are fantastic and do a a great job of asking if there are any cheeses you do and don’t like. The place itself is also really lovely to spend time in as there is a nice cosy atmosphere. Fabulous place, amazing food, great for dietary requirements (I am gluten and dairy intolerant and could have loads of options and they had gf crackers and bread!) Provided blankets and hot water bottles so kept us lovely and warm sitting on their outside tables and provided hand sanitizer. It’s a great place to dine with friends. The owners have great knowledge of wines and their recommendations turned out to be really good ( even though I’m not a fan of red wine, I liked the wine they suggested). A gem of a place on the quiet waterfront. Billed as a wine bar that does a little food- but that food is excellent!! Could not fault the service - attentive but not overbearing. We sat at the front outside as it was a lovely evening. The waitress was really pleasant and said that they are a wine bar that serves food rather than a restaurant, but we certainly weren’t disappointed. We ordered the full platter between four of us. The board was full of delicious food to share. A mix of hot and cold with fresh bread. We started with a bottle of fizz but the red was good too. An excellent few hours in a lovely setting. We will be back soon.

Yeah!! Walked past it hundreds of times.....it seems to have changed hands sooo often! But now, perhaps this is the real deal. Certainly smart and the greeting from Amber and her subsequent people skills throughout the evening were perfect...and...she was very cute. They had mulled wine so that was a wonderful start. Such a choice of mini bites but ultimately we went for a "sharing platter for two" which was presented brilliantly and tasted unbelievable. Such a choice too....but way too much for us to eat!! Walked past this place earlier in the week, and it looked very inviting. Having then researched it a little, and checked out the reviews - we were lucky enough to get a table for two this last Saturday. Well, what a wonderful experience - we shared a platter, and a bottle of wine as recommended by the lovely waitress. The food was faultless, as was the wine, but it was the little touches that make this place stand out - the hot water bottle for my partner, the rug for her knee, the mini bottle of sanitiser on the table etc. The owner and his staff were so welcoming and attentive, and we had a wonderful time. Even allowing for the excitement of a first meal out in six months, this was a real treat. Reasonably priced, and definitely value for money. Cannot wait to go back. Highly recommended.

Great sharing platter, it's literarily the platter that keeps on giving. Slightly strange seating allocation (even after booking weeks in advance for high tables) we were still giving the couch. We've been informed if there's only 2 of you, they'll put on on the couch regardless of your preference. But the waitress was kind enough to switch our table for us from being next to the toilet to a high table on the other side. Great service and good food.

what a little gem of a place! Brought my husband here for a birthday lunch and we had the Full Honky Tonk Sharing Platter - every mouthful was a "taste-sensation". Our waitress could not have been more friendly and helpful, nothing was too much bother for her and she was patient and chatty, explaining how everything worked (a credit to the restaurant). It's a lovely location on a sunny day and they had funky music playing in the back-ground. The toilets are beautifully decorated with an extensive range of lotions and potions, hand creams and body sprays. Even at a stretch, I don't think I can find any negatives other than the fact that I now need a bigger skirt!

The most amazing place. I was worried it may be a little pretentious as its a wine library and my knowledge of wines is minimal at best, but I couldn’t be more wrong. The team were all so warm and friendly, with such an attentive service, striking the perfect balance of leaving you enough to enjoy your evening without interruption but never being left to long you feel like you’ve been forgotten. The food was also amazing, with a lovely gluten free flat bread and gluten free onion bhaji (100% recommend). It can sometimes be hard to find great gluten free places where you leave in a food coma, but I certainly didn’t struggle here, with the team letting me know what I could and couldn’t have but making changes where they could so I could still eat what I wanted. Lastly lots of lovely little touches like hand sanitizer at the table, and various toiletries in the toilet. Overall we had a lovely night out here, I will be recommending to anyone and everyone that will listen, it’s perfect for any occasion and I can’t wait to go back!

An elegant and welcoming little place away from the hustle and bustle of Plymouth’s ‘strip’. We really enjoyed the sharing platter and a bottle of white wine. It was really cold but they provided hot water bottles and blankets and even asked if we would like a refill! The platter was a jungle of amazing food and is highly recommended. The bathroom was an added bonus, it feels like you’re in a really homely house!

Quirky little bar and eatery down by the water. Managed to visit on a friday just before the lockdown. The food and wine were really good but the really outstanding thing was the overall experience. It just had a great atmosphere. Everything was done with a smile (even behind the masks) and nothing seemed too much trouble. When all this current painful stuff is over go and see for yourself. We don't live in Plymouth so probably wouldn't have known about it if our friends had not booked it. Really worth a visit. Very casual, warm and friendly with excellent platters to share and some cracking red wines.

We had such a great experience here and will be back. Great food and lovely staff. The sharing platter was one of the best I've had, anywhere, plenty for 4 people. They also have their own rum, which was delicious. At first, I added ginger beer, but then I had it on the rocks. The wines we had were also great. You can see and taste the time they have put in to selecting everything. Loved the music and ambience of the place.
