I first attended the ferret 9-10 years ago and it had a very real and grungy charm, it just felt real and had soul. Yesterday I revisited it and honestly that charm still remains and grew more bits over the years. Great new stage area as I was used to the outdoor one and the staff are full of great character. I also loved how there was women's sanitary towels for free in the girls toilets, made me really smile as its very thoughtful. Honestly if you fancy a drink with some character, come here.

An awesome night out full of live music and an amazing atmosphere. Worth booking a ticket if you're going to one of their premier events like the annual Whinge Festival. All contactless payments and covid safe as you can be. The bar staff are very polite and helpful with the prices about what you'd expect for a Preston bar. All in all. Five stars well earned,,☆☆☆☆☆

Love this live music venue in Preston. Great to be back watching bands again. Barry Gammon were great tonight at the socially distanced gig. Only downside is having to try and download a QR code App to order a drink at the bar but that will all change from Monday. 🥰👍❤️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazing venue, lots of talents to step on they're stage, from bands to djs. Reasonable prices on drinks and food, which looks good and tastes amazing, also the food comes in huge portions, amazing value for money you won't be disappointed. If you in to the electronic music scene you wont be disappointed with the unique drum and bass nights that they host here. If you haven't tryed this place yet give them a go! You won't be disappointed.

Went to the ferret to watch some bands, got to be said its a brilliant venue to watch band's or just for general drinking. Nice friendly crowd in there and the bar staff where highly efficient. If you're in the area get yourself there for a drink, you won't regret it!

One of Preston's most famous pubs , saw Rae Morris here and Ed Sheeran bobbed in once ,( before they were famous) . Catch some amazing up and coming artists here . New landlord is a gent.

This little pub is a gem. There's a good selection of real ales, beers, wines and spirits for its size. Great food with several veggie, vegan and gluten free options. At weekends and some mid week nights there is love music. Also, all my friends live here 😊

Amazing value here, I personally had ‘the apocolypse cow’ burger which I absolutely loved, two fresh and juicy 8oz burgers in lovely bread, with amazing sauce and fresh salad, also came with some nice and crispy fries which were tasty, and some coleslaw, which came to a total of £14.99 which I think is personally reasonable, great atmosphere inside, with lots of indie music playing, plus some incredible artwork, aswell as really nice chatty staff, will definitely be going again. Nice and casual, excellent place to go with a couple of friends for a good catchup with some nice music, great burgers and friendly staff.

First time in Preston visiting son and d.i.l.friendly staff and plenty of them. Good food, had rack of ribs. Gorgeous dressing and meat fell off the bone. Getting old now so music a bit to loud to have conversation. Enjoyed it in the beer garden though. Reminded me of hope and anchor in London during punk era.

The place is nice with a good atmosphere! I did however order wings with a sauce that was supposed to be very very very hot, but kind of just hit the tongue as a mild Nando's sauce. Other than that the staff was friendly and we had a good time.

Great bar with loads of bands on throughout the week and also the weekend. Good beer and everything else, ask for jonny behind the bar to make you an Old Ferret cocktail. They are so good. The bar is a little small but it only builds on the atmosphere

Situated near the university and their community this venue has often free acts on throughout the week and is unusual in that the stage is next to the front door as you come in but the bar is where you can easily see the bands. Caters for smaller acts including local ones which is just up my street being in a crowd of around 100 at most.

Absolutely amazing night down here at the ferret. Ivan Campo and Nick Harper was amazing. So head on down for a night of fun and fabulous live music.

Saw Rosalie Cunningham here last night. Seen the fabulous Rosalie before but it was my first time at this venue. Incredible venue, wonderful staff. Walked in at the door, my 14 year old autistic son was clearly struggling. The guy at the door said "is he okay?". I said yeah, he has autism. The guy said "cool, you put his wrist band on him, my daughter is autistic, shout if you need anything". 🥰 Got to the bar, Scarlet the bar lady instantly knew my son's social and communication needs without a word needing to be said. I loved chatting with her. Amazing, beautiful woman. 🥰 Then we sat next to some fellow gig punters who instantly knew how to communicate with my son. That was after some other gig punters gave us their seats! 🥰 Then out came the venue owner, Ian... autistic himself, and he took my son to see the light tech behind the scenes. 🥰 It was surreal. The sense of community at this venue is out of this world. My son had a rare sense of belonging and normalcy in his life. This venue and its people are precious. Long live this beautiful place. 🤘 I'm truly grateful for its existence. 🙏
