Honestly? Haven't been there but Google thinks I have. I was in City Screen next door! There's a brilliant art exhibition in there by Navigators Art @navigatorsart on social media. Check it out! But I'm sure Revolution is great. 😉

We had some drinks here they were really nice and you see the staff make them. The happy hour drinks is a great idea however you have to have same drink which not everyone likes the same.

Late lunchtime on a sunny summer Saturday, the outdoor seating at the end of the bar still had some free seats, unlike the bars on King's Staithe. Started to get busy with hen and stag parties, so was glad to be outside. Used the app to order drinks, as the bar was a few people deep at one point, and they arrived quickly. Unfortunately they hadn't refrigerated the bottles of Rekorderlig 0%, which were in the store room at the back of the bar. Although they provided a glass with ice the first two rounds, with the cider being so warm, the ice melted really quickly and served more to water down the drink than cool it. This was a little disappointing, as a properly chilled bottle would have been very welcome on a warm day.

Lovely outdoors area and food was nice. Drinks appeared to be watered down and took ages to arrive (we got our food before our drinks, people on the table next to us waited over 1h for drinks before they went to speak to a manager after already complaining to staff) Staff were generally nice too but were rushed off their feet.

Found this bar/eatery almost by accident as it is tucked away off the main shopping area. Great views of the river, indoor/outdoor seating and on both tourist visits staff have all been welcoming and helpful. Clearly explain the current ordering options (get the app!) and if possible choice of seating. Will keep going back.

We went on Monday for the 241 deal and I had the mother clucker burger which was 2 beef burgers and topped with chicken breast. It came served with a massive portion of fries and I struggled to finish it off. Great that they do deals such as these for good value. The cocktails were also 241 and although small could definitely taste the alcohol! Outside seating area lovely in the summer but we sat inside in a booth type seat.

Awesome bar as usual and on a hot bank holiday Monday was perfect for the sun all day! Literally just baked in the sun all afternoon whilst drinking. Only problem was by about 4pm most cocktails had ran out so the choices whittled down fast. Could of stayed for 12 hours easily if not for this. Will be back for another weekend away later in the year.

Put a complaint in after my first two visits and the manager got back to me really promptly and offered a complimentary meal for two with cocktails. When we came for the meal the staff were really friendly and the food and drinks were lovely. The manager even came out to say hello personally. I was really pleased with the experience and has definitely made up for the last time.

Just like every revolution I've been. Cheap cocktails 2 for 1, download the revs app before you go and sign up then you won't have to waste time waiting at the bar cause that hows you get 2 for 1. I'd recommend going if you want a couple of drinks right on the river. I went when it was flooded so not the best. Would like to imagine it would be nice on a calmer day cause they have a lovely outdoor seating area at the back of the building.

5 of us walked in. Were told there were free tables around the corner, were absolutely no free tables so tried to sit at one that was booked for an hour and a half later. 2 members of staff turned up and told us we couldn't sit there (the one that told us there was loads of tables literally hiding behind the other). Found a table, tried to order some drinks at the bar. Bartender asked me what I wanted and then told me I couldn't order at the bar and I'd need the app anyway? I'll no be back

We, self, wife, son. 2 fossils and one 30 year old, sat outside for a beer and hot backsides wet, because clearly the seats had been left out, and absorbed the rain. Sooooooo, we go inside, though soggy bums aren't comfy. And before we go I, dad, fossil one, use the loo. And awful is an understatement. So, overview nice, after inspection, not nice at all. 😡

We did the cocktail making class which was bloody brilliant! Our host was amazing and hilarious, we all got to make multiple cocktails and then we all sat down to eat out food. You do have to pre book the food like a week + beforehand which kinda sucks because does anyone really know what they fancy to eat a week before. The bbq glazed half chicken with chips was lovely.

A hidden gem, tucked away in the corner of a busy street. Its front looks out onto the River Ouse, with its fab outdoor area. Dont be fooled when you first go in, walk to the right and the garden opens out. Fabulous selection of cocktails, often 2 for 1.

It was busy, so can't really blame them for the shortcomings, however there doesn't seem to be a proper backup plan for when the new "order-from-your-phone" system doesn't work. We waited for 45 minutes before being able to order at all, after having to find a waiter, and then it took another 20 minutes for two lemonades to arrive. Not my best experience, I'm afraid :/

We had our work Christmas Party on the 14th of December. Great food and excellent Customer service. Friendly and attentive staff, especially Amy (Manager on Duty) , Sophie, Chloe ( Floor Manager) are credit to the business.

Visited here for a meal with work colleagues. The bar itself is lovely and modern and had lovely view of the river. The staff were pleasant and nice. The food was average, ordered a burger and chips and ate it but portions too small plus no salad. My gripe was the smell of marijuna wafting in from outside and the staff doing nothing about it.

Good value cocktails (2-4-1) and vodka shots, especially if you get a Revolution card. Bar service can be slow when busy due to cocktail orders, better to get a table and have waitress service. Would definitely visit again.

The only downside at the moment is having to order on an app rather than in person. Whilst this limits contact with other people for health and safety measures, there is no way of requesting certain items of food be removed from a meal, e.g. a fish finger sandwich with no sauce. We asked a member of staff if we could have it without sauce and they informed the kitchen, however, when it eventually arrived it was covered in sauce, so had to be taken back and made again.

Visited here on a nice sunny afternoon, for a quick drink and bar snack. Has a decent enough rustic outdoor area overlooking the river, a nice little sun trap - then again there are quite a few of those in York. Nothing wow, but I'd expect it's popular enough with younger crowds especially. I'd say it's also a popular evening drinking venue too!

Very busy place, very loud inside and hard to here the others you are with. The bar staff are better at serving though, they get those drinks out dead quick. They only have one bathroom which is located upstairs, so if you are downstairs and down the back it is a long walk to get up there.

We bought two and paid 14 quid for them, which is excessive, especially considering they weren't that nice.

People have bad things to say about revs for working there, but as a club I can definitely say that the bouncers are lovely people. All of them checked on someone who was too drunk rather than just kicking then out. Much better then other york uni nights where they're quite violent with you and I respect them a lot. Prices are a bit high but it's in keeping with the up market feel. Would recommend.

Very nice food overall I ordered a Smokin Bacon Burger which comes with a set of fries and two free sauces. The burger was seriously just a firework of flavors. Astonishing. Espacially the meat. It could have been a bit bigger though. The fries seemed alright, a bit soggy but for the price of 10,95 that's alright in a region where most of the customers are tourists. I'd definetly go here again.

As far as revs go this is quite a good one. Nice location on the river, and nice layout inside. Service at the bar a bit slow. There was trouble with a drunk group. The staff dealt with it well and removed the trouble makers.

If this was based on Jamie alone then it would have been a full 5 stars. Jamie hosted a cocktail making session for a hen do this weekend and was fantastic. Unfortunately the food took ages, it was almost impossible to get a drink and it was definitely not the fault of the staff. They were over run, understaffed and it put a little bit of a downer on the hen do. Would have likely stayed all evening if we were able to get to the bar - or bar was open upstairs and taking orders.

More for the younger crowd and overlooking the river. It was a great day when we visited so had a quick drink on the deck. What impressed me was the attention one of the bar staff gave my daughter. She asked for J2O which they didn't stock and she insisted on creating a homemade cocktail with all my daughters favourite ingredients and she loved it.

Pretty poor Revs, if I'm completely honest. Upon arrival, our IDs were checked and we headed inside. The higher levers were closed off for a private function, and only the main lower level was open to the public. We grabbed a booth and went to order some drinks. The bar staff were slow at dealing with the customers and could of sped up to assist in serving the customers. The drinks were OK, perhaps a little pricey, but the bar was poorly lit, I understand the revs atmosphere of dark and relaxing, but this one was far too dark. We ended up jumping ship and going to another bar as Revs simply didn't do it for us!

Food is really nice and the range of alcohol and cocktails is also really good. Venue is stylish and comfortable for day dining to evening clubs. Only thing is that the staff are very slow (or understaffed) and a bit disorganised so if you want a nice drink or a nice meal at a decent price then make sure you go with plenty of time to spare. On a last good note, the outside seating looking over the river is really nice.
