Visited yesterday for an eye test. I wanted a second opinion after having recently had one with a different well known optician. The actual examination was professional and the answers to my questions were clear and reassuring. However I was spoken to as if I were a young teenager, knew nothing about health in general and given a lot of unsolicited advice. I said that I was not looking to buy glasses but only wanted an eye test. This was ignored and I was “passed to a colleague” who tried to sell me glasses, the cheapest of which were £500 for one pair of basic vari-focal sunglasses . As the shop consists of only one small room this meant that all the staff were able to hear the ongoing conversation. To add insult to injury I was then asked to pay £70 for an eye test (this has only ever cost £25 anywhere else) .and no copy of the prescription was given to me

I went to the ASK opticians during the week for an eye test as I haven’t had a eye test in a while. Being a family business with the next doors pharmacy, also being family to the owner of ASK Opticians, they provided excellent customer service and made me feel comfortable. They helped me in finding the perfect glasses as well as providing me with vital information on eye health. As I was waiting for my eye test they also provided me with some beverages and some lovey champagne which made it the extra special. Would definitely recommend this opticians.

Popped in on Monday for some advice, and went back today to buy some new specs! The staff here are super friendly and helpful. There’s no pressure selling (like specsavers). There’s a nice “family” atmosphere in there with the mum on reception. They have a good range of glasses, organised well and there’s a good range of price points - but even the lower price points are nice frames and they have the usual brands like Ray Ban etc. Highly recommended for a much nicer experience than the likes of Specsavers etc, with the same range and value, and much nicer service.

Visited yesterday. Very professional service. Thorough explanation of procedures and came back with better glasses than Vision express for less money. Felt safe and confident in knowing that Arjan has my intrest at heart.
