Had my annual eye examination here this week, the optician and staff were friendly and professional, covid protocols are in place so I felt safe. This is my local optician, I've been going here for a few years. It's an independent family optician, I always see the same optician, the service is always excellent, there's a good range of frames on offer without the hard sell you get when you visit a franchise. I highly recommend this optician

I recently had a eye condition, i couldn't get a same day appointment from my last optician but got it at Hamstead Eyecare. The service was friendly and professional, the optician (Jeeven) realized i had a problem and sent me to the hospital for a urgent referral. Luckily my condition wasn't serious but i'm glad Jeeven spent a hour to check my eyes properly. I will be recommending Hamstead Eyecare to all my family and friends in future. The service is far better than the big chains, I've used many opticians over the last 30yrs since wearing glasses.

Excellent customer service and terrific selection of frames. I hadn't had my eyes examined in years and was impressed with how quickly and efficiently the optometrists took care of me. The equipment and facilities were all cutting edge, clean and comfortable. I'd highly recommend the store to anyone.

2017 A first-class service from start to end, and - even better - this a family business with an excellent reputation, local to Handsworth, Handsworth Wood, Great Barr and Walsall. I've never been so pleased with my specs before. I had two pairs of varifocals made up for HALF the cost quoted by Boots. I took the optician's advice and had lenses in my prescription sunglasses which improved peripheral vision above and beyond my previous prescription. But cost was not the only factor: no optician has ever shhown such interest, care and professionalism in measuring me up and fitting my spectacles as Mr Rai and his wife. A very good experience all round. I'll not use anyone else in the future, and shall be recommending them to everyone I know. August 2019 Just back from Mr Rai's Hamstead Eyecare, having picked up my gorgeous new spectacles. It is lovely to have such a superb local service right on your doorstep. Mr Rai genuinely cares about his customers, remembering important little details about them and their families. It was great to catch up too on the Rai family news - son awaiting news of his GCSEs, elder daughter is now at King Edward's Handsworth, and the little one is a character! Amazing attention to detail! The optometrist made a referral for my father to the hospital as he suspected my father had Glaucoma. The consultant at the hospital complimented the optometrist on spotting it at such an early stage. Thanks to you Jiv Rai, my father has had an early diagnosis of ‘Acute angle closure glaucoma’ and is booked in for a procedure to correct this. We appreciate you taking the time to write and make the referral, professionalism at its finest!
