I spent £950.00 here. Glasses - great. Eye Test Impressive . All co-workers were helpful and very pleasant. Such a pity that a woman Paula, I’d not met before, behaved in a most unpleasant manner towards her colleagues. She had an unseemly dispute over a discount I had been offered and said in front of me that she would blame him if some trouble resulted ( from whom ?). I hope this review will deter her in future :)

I'd been putting off buying new glasses for years because I find it hard to choose frames I really like. But Frames in the Lanes had such a good selection I was spoilt for choice. Their collection is so well curated there were several pairs I could have bought. I know now I should have visited sooner! Karl helped me choose & make sure I had the best frames & Paula helped with aftercare to make sure everything was just right. Strongly recommended if you want cool glasses & great service.

Incredibly friendly, attentive and knowledgeable front-of-house staff - Paula and Carl are absolute stars. The eye test itself was thorough, calming and reassuring. I popped in here while I was looking for new specs just to see what they had and right away knew it would be the right store for me. The staff were not just there to assist a sale, the gentleman who served me was able to assess my face shape and existing style to pull out only the frames that would suit me. He was helpful but also not too in my face and didn't make me feel like I was pushed to buy something he liked. Also, the eye test tech and other staff who helped me were really nice and professional as well. I ended up finding what I wanted as well as a great experience. Thanks!

Wonderful place to find high quality and chic glasses! Very professional customer service! I find it extremely hard to find the right frames cause of my big head! They were extremely patient and went above and beyond to find the right frames and suitable lenses! I can't imagine going anywhere else and got so many compliments from people on my frames! I have been using Frames in the Lanes for some years now, and they have always delivered more than five star service. They have a fantastic range of frames which is what attracted me there in the first place. The whole team are super professional and their knowledge is second to none. I recently had my scratched lenses replaced with Optifog lenses, they have a coating to stop them fogging up. They work really well and especially when wearing the now obligatory mask. Apart from not fogging up, my new lenses seem to stay smear and dust free all day. Thank you for your help in choosing them and as always your professional and welcoming approach.

Great frames to choose from and Bernie and Freya have been incredibly helpful to me, spending a lot of time to help me choose frames which will suit me, including being tactfully honest when I was tempted to a style that wouldn't look good on me. I have a challenging prescription, and Frames in the Lanes were very thoughtful and helpful in making sure that I got the right lenses when I needed reading glasses as well as my regular glasses. And every summer, people give me compliments on the prescription sunglasses I bought from them 5 years ago, which is always good for my self esteem!

Reviews are a blessing and a curse, you have no control over what people might wish to write whether it will be delightful or damning. Do I read them and am I influenced? Absolutely. Do I write them myself? Rarely. However I allowed myself to pick 2 negative reviews over the other positive ones and be influenced no to go back to this store when I had personally already had my own positive experience prior to the negative reviews. As you have probably guessed I did eventually go back and this is why. Stay with me it's a worthwhile true story that will hopefully help you balance your thoughts... I've been hunting for the 'perfect' frame for years having already had a pair that I loved and still love, I did try to get the same ones again but sadly couldn't. If I love them so much why do I need a new pair? Because they are looking a little bit too well loved! So despite my reservations based solely on the 2 negative reviews, I went back in and tried on some frames. I actually knew in my mind I'd probably find frames I'd like as they have such a great selection of designer frames. They were really good didn't pounce on me allowed me loads of time to try on and then helped me out when I was ready. They listened to my ramblings and suggested they could polish my old beloved frames for me. I was so pleased as no one else had ever offered to do that. It cost £25 and was worth it. I also had new lenses put in having seen the optician for a sight test (who has been the best optician I've seen, really patient and listens to all your concerns). So yes I not only got a fabulous new pair of glasses, had my old ones refurbished, I got the best service I've ever had in an optical store both from a customer service viewpoint but also eye care from the optician. Now you're probably thinking "meh so what, doesn't sound that outstanding"... You're wrong! I am also an occasional contact lense wearer and my last opticians just could not get my lense prescription right, in the end I bought a month's supply as I thought couldn't be that bad for the odd day's wear. I just couldn't see very well when trying to wear them. I gave it a good go, but admitted defeat and resigned myself to only wear glasses going forward. The Frames team convinced me to let them try to help, I was skeptical as it had been a very long torturous process to only end up with lenses I couldn't use. I warned them of this and that I really didn't have it in me to do it again, anyway I took my almost full boxes of lenses with me, had my appointment with Jo and she had me try some lenses which were immediately better than the ones I'd brought in with me. They had originally told me they didn't deal with the brand I had, but when I had my appointment they told me they'd signed up for an account just so I could get free trial lenses! Now surely that has blown you away just as it did me. Jo only told me this as I'd brought up the subject, I'm pretty sure she wasn't intending to. When asked why, she said it was a more advanced contact lense and would be better for me, their current supplier (whilst still good lenses) didn't offer free trials for astigmatism. In addition she also looked at the other lenses and discovered that the boxes had been marked up wrong! So I'd been wearing the left one in my right eye... Despite finding that out she said they were too strong anyway. So now you're thinking "wow that is exceptional service" and you'd be right. So the moral of my true story is, yes reviews are useful but make up your own mind based on your own experience. Or at least take a balanced view. I'm pretty embarrassed I was influenced by the negative reviews as all I did was deprive myself of an amazing selection of frames from an amazing team, all of which I cannot recommend highly enough. I will not be going anywhere else. I have never received this kind of dedicated customer service, ever. I hope this helps to neutralise the negative reviews. Finally huge THANKS to everyone at Frames in the Lanes. I would give more stars if they were available!

Very thorough and re-assuring eye test followed by much assistance trying to find the right frames to fit my tiny face! All staff are very attentive, patient and a pleasure to deal with :)

My kids had bought me a brand new pair of ray bans for my birthday, a week latter I managed to achieve shutting my head in the car door causing the lens to pop out and however hard I or others tried could not get it to fit back in Called these guys who said pop it down we will have a look, which I did, they asked could I leave them with them for a couple of hours, but seemed confident they could help Later I rang to see how they were getting on to be told all done and it's only £5 Well I have to admit I was shocked by the price I was expecting at least double that So on my way down to say thank you I purchased a small box of chocolates The staff were very happy and then one noticed my reading glasses had lost both nasal guards, can you see a theme with me and glasses Anyway they took them and there and then fitted a couple straight away with no charge Thank you guys and hope you enjoyed the chocolates So nice to see a small independent thriving and it's no wonder if you give service like this Brilliant Andy
