I had an optical scan today plus an eye test. My eyes have been uncomfortable for a few months, and I came away with ideas for home treating them. Having tried these out tonight - heat on my eyes, drops, cleanser, I feel better, and relieved it's easily treatable. Thankyou Specsavers team.

I found the staff extremely warm and professional during my visit to this Specsavers store. The optician I had was knowledgeable, polite and made me feel very comfortable. I had a lot of trouble deciding which frames suited me and the staff were helpful and honest, selecting frames for me which they felt would be a good fit for my face shape. They were also very patient with me while I made my final decision. This was my first visit to Specsavers in Portishead and I will definitely be back.

Very attentive and professional service. After the test for my gf they were willing to try a specific advanced prescription that could have solved some of her tricky issues. It turned out that didnt quite work and it was no problem getting a normal prescription replacement. Really appreciated to take that risk knowing they may have to replace the lenses. Would definitely go back again.

Mixed feelings on my visit as the booking in, pre-consultation screening and general welcome was good. The optometrist was very polite and carried out my sight test in a very professional manner. However, when I asked if it would be possible to get my Pupillary Distance for ordering some sunglasses online - simply because they do not stock the brand I was interested in, I was rather coldly informed there was a charge of £10.00 on top of the standard £22.00 cost for the sight test. This seems a bit steep for a measurement that can be taken in moments with a ruler. I gather that the optician in question is not alone in refusing to give this out - perhaps the fear of losing customers to the online trade is very real, but it won't stop me from ordering my sunglasses elsewhere as the store simply do not sell them.
