Very busy store.
I had an appointment and it was running over 25 minutes late, i had to ask someone what was going on and it wasn't until then, that I was seen.
The whole eye test process was very good and the optician was very patient with me as I had a young baby with me.
The whole process was good, but I just think it takes too long even when it doesn't seem to be busy. I was in there for over an hour and 15 minutes, not great, and I had already chosen my glasses on a previous visit! So that was just waiting for the appointment, having the eye test and then the ordering of the basic lenses.
My partner had an appointment the week before and he was in there for over 3 hours!
Not the best place to go if you have young children or are short on time.

I was referred by my gp to have an eye test as i've had a few problems recently. Despite the appt. running late, I would like to say that the optometrist who I saw did a thorough check & put me at ease. Excellent service, as I've had in the past.

I have used vision express for a number of years and always been very satisfied with their service. I recently made an appointment for an eye test after having some problems, presuming I just needed my glasses updating.
The thorough inspection resulted in me being immediately referred to the eye hospital in Bristol where another health problem was detected. Thankyou for your very professional approach and immediate response.

Great service. They were running late due to a power cut, I was told they were running about 15 minutes late. So I went off and came back. ( didn’t want the staff thinking I was rushing them, as it stressful enough )
The service when I re arrived was fast and very professional. Staff were very welcoming and willing to help with advise to purchase new glasses.
I must admit, the selection of glasses wasn't what I expected but with Covid etc it must be difficult, as they have to take them off to clean each time someone touched them.
I wanted to pay half cash and half on my card, as they are on a temporary move they couldn’t take any cash, the walls were thin and you could hear the next rooms conversation, but this was at no fault of the staff more an environment issue.

Starting the review off in a positive tone as for the most part, I have had a good experience in branch. Adrian in particular supported me to choose some new glasses, and he did so in a patient & genuine way. The problems have come in paying for & ordering the glasses.
Firstly, they won’t accept cash in branch so had to use a card to pay & bank the birthday money I was given at a later date, which was a nuisance. I know we’ve made strides towards a cashless society - accelerated by the pandemic - but it is still legal tender…!!
Secondly, I was discouraged from collecting my glasses from the branch and instead had them fitted there & then so they could be posted to me ready made. I was instantly dubious and remained that way until I was sadly proved right when my glasses arrived with absolutely no difference to them, rendering them too loose to wear straight away. I need them more curved around the back & this was established in branch but hasn’t translated to the glasses I’ve had in the post. This isn’t attributable to the branch itself I imagine, more from where the glasses are made.
So getting the glasses in the post….I phoned up on Thursday as they still hadn’t arrived (it would be two weeks on the Saturday since I ordered them) and then miraculously I was told they were getting made today & then I got the email saying they would be sent Sat. Classic “forgot order & rushed them out” response which is disappointing for a £309 pair of glasses…!! I had made plans for Saturday predating the glasses so naturally missed the delivery, then was told on DPD that driver would attempt again on Sunday….then Monday….then back to Sunday!! For them then not to fit….
When phoning the branch to ask if they do the fitting service, no answer….after phoning Head Office twice, I got through and spoke to Scott who advised me that they were open for another hour today so come in & have them fitted, which he did professionally and thoroughly. One star taken off as fab experience in branch (with Scott & Adrian), but too much of a faff re. postage / delivery of specs, considering the spend.

Last went here two years ago, and it has improved immeasurably. Staff are all polite and welcoming, they have vastly improved product knowledge from last time I attended and the eye test was more thorough. I feel far more confident in using them in the future. Well done to the staff and keep up those high standards.

First ever eye test at age 27 so was pretty anxious, especially in Covid times! But the atmosphere was good, where to go and what to do was clear and everyone was really friendly and helpful. The staff member who then helped me understand my prescription and choose my glasses, Ben, was wonderful. He was kind and knowledgeable and explained things really clearly to me. I can only say the service I received was first class. I was not pressurised in having all the extras, I did however discuss the options and opted for better lenses that suited my needs.

Hugely helpful. I had had my annual eye test back only a few months ago, with an all clear, but developed a blur in one eye which concerned me. The gentleman who saw me carried out a thorough check of my eyes, confirmed that there had been no change sinec my previous visit, and concluded, after a bit of detective work, that the blurring might have been caused by sinusitis, which I had been experiencing and hadn't given a second thought to about its effect on my eyes. So, a very reassuring check-up, at short notice, and five star treatment. I always use this branch for my eye check-ups and glasses. Thank you!

Eye test was very thorough and those involved with it took time to explain findings. Where it all went wrong was when I was handed across to the SALESPERSON who ‘advised’ on my requirements. Not very patient at all and rattled everything off so quickly I couldn’t understand her properly. My constant need to clarify what she was saying obviously annoyed her and towards the end of the consultation I felt she was quite rude and not customer focused at all. Really felt like being in a car showroom getting product pushed at me. Annoyed that I eventually paid up. I should have taken my prescription away and had it done elsewhere. I don’t think I shall return or if I do in future just to get the prescription as that part was ok as I said.

the clinical team were good, I had a change of my contact lens prescription, I was given 1 lens to try. I was told that I had to bring my unused packs to the shop before they could order the new prescription. I would have preferred to ahve one spare lens just in case I lost the current one. I bough a pair of lens at Vision Express about 5months ago, on January had a retina detachement on my right eye unfortunately i lost some vision so i had to go back to vision express to order a new prescription for my right eye. What is my amazement when i am told that i would not have to pay for the new lens and they would offer me the left lens as well. The lady who attended told me that I had had enough. Vision express show that sometimes big corporations care about coustumers i ndver thought they will look after me so well. Thank you very much for this exceptional service.

Had my routine eye test and health care appointment on 25/03/21, everyone was wearing masks and also face shields where required, it was well organised and i felt safe. the optometrist was Ria and she carried out a thorough examination which showed no change in my prescription and healthy eyes, ria requested a repeat of the eye pressure test and a field test to be carried out. I was considering having some old glasses re-glazed with varifocal lenses so I was introduced to Ben, he checked the old frames to see if these could be re-glazed but unfortunately they could not as they were off the shelf reading glasses and not suitable, so I decided to choose a pair of cheaper frames but before this Ben carried out the eye pressure test and field test.
I eventually chose some frames and during this time talking to ben he enquired as to what I intended to use them for, which was computer screen and reading documents etc while at the computer, he suggested that a lifestyle reader lens would work better than the varifocals and explained how these worked, i decided to go for the lifestyle reader as they sounded more suitable for what i needed.
I never knew these existed so thank you Ben.

I got my glasses from this store using a prescription from a different opticians. Turns out that opticians had done my eye test wrong so I ended up with the wrong lenses!
Vision Express very swiftly re-tested my eyes and gave me the correct lenses, all without any additional fees on top of what i'd paid.
Having been in a few times now, i've dealt with a fair number of their employees, everyone's been extremely professional, friendly and competent - it may be a tad pricey but it's definitely worth going to Cribbs for their excellent service.
