The man who served me in store was lovely and very welcoming also kept making my child laugh which kept her entertained for the short time we were in store. Went in for sunglasses as I had seen deals online. They matched the online price. Allowed me to try on pairs and helped me settle for the right choice. I left with just what I wanted at the online price with a soft cloth and the hard protective case. Really looked after me. Excellent staff and customer service.

The place has a good variety of options to choose from. Me and My Wife, bought three sunglasses but were treated as if the staff wanted us to just leave as it was closing time. The staff needs to have a bit more polite attitude and should be welcoming rather than wanting customers to hurry and leave. It seemed they were not bothered to serve us which is evident that despite buying three sunglasses we were not given a carrier bag despite asking for it. They were in such a hurry which was disappointing. If they need to close, they shouldn't bother customers Inside near to closing time. Overall satisfied but highly disappointed.

Visited Vision express Cardiff today for my eye test and seen Martin the Optom and after my test Mary and Charley helped me pick some nice glasses. Very friendly and helpful service and everything was getting cleaned after use. Back in 7 days for my glasses 🙂

Receptionist (female) was polite and professional. I was then shown into a room for the usual retinal photograph and pressure test, etc. The guy performing the tests, who was not wearing a name badge, was dismissive and not very courteous, like he really couldn't be bothered with me. The guy who did my actual eye test (Mr Bates) was very professional and conversational - full marks to him. After that, the first guy took me into a third room for a peripheral vision test. Yet again, he was terse and didn't seem to be interested at all. He then took me to the till to pay, and still didn't seem interested in dealing with his customer! I only wish he had a name badge so the manager at the store could give him the customer service training he so clearly needs.

I visited Vision Express Optitians on Sunday to get a new pair of sunglasses with prescription lenses. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the lady who helped me, she has brown short hair and blue eyes and I think she is a new starter. I booked in by telephone as wanted to be seen for contact lens and eye test. A week later call to say slightly changing appointment time by 10 mins. Call on the day from VE saying appointment time was the original time! Attended the store 5 mins before original appointment time and asked to wait in waiting area however I was not booked in by reception so the optometrist was not aware I had arrived so I was kept waiting for nearly 20 mins and told I was only booked for a contact lens appointment and not eye test but they would complete an eye test. Appointment system seems to be a shambles. However the optometrist herself was excellent and provided a great service. The choice of frames is another positive.

Arrived at the branch the store was well sign posted due to Covid-19. The store was welcoming and clean. Hand sanitizers was available. Two metre rule was followed in store. Equipment was sanitised ready for the next patient. Staff was friendly and helpful towards choosing my frames listened to my needs. I feel the service is spot on. You felt safe in store.

It’s bit late too post though but good things must be shared and appreciated. We visited Cardiff end of 2018 ( we live in Midlands )and I suddenly developed some problem with my eye . I visited the store and they offered to see me straight away . The staff was very polite and helpful . Apparently , you have to pay for this service in Wales which I was of course willing to but they mentioned as there would be no fees in England for this service , he is not going to charge me for this . How lovely 😊

I only went in to look at options for new frames but the assistant was so helpful I ended up phoning up and arranging a free eye test a week or two later. The eye test itself was one of the most thorough I've ever had...and I've worn glasses for over 30 years. The optician (Chris) was also very professional, conscientious, helpful and pleasant. Last but far, far from being least was team leader Alice who couldn't do more, she was fantastic. She spent time going through pair after pair of frames and specifications with me and couldn't have been nicer. I ended up getting variofocals for the first time. A pair of Paul Smith and a half price pair of Hugo Boss as I wanted something a bit different. Admittedly even with the free eye test and the second pair at half price they are possibly not as cheap as some other chains if you really looked around, but you get what you pay for and in this case with Chris and Alice (and two stylish brands) I received great service and two pairs of glasses that I'm delighted with. I'll definitely be returning in the future.

I've been to this Vision Express branch 3 or more times: 1. To buy my everyday glasses. They had the best selection of any shop in Cardiff that I've seen and, as far as I can recall, the process was fine. I was given various options of lens thinning as my prescription is quite strong which ended up costing me £100 to £150 (I don't recall how much exactly) but, as far as I'm aware, this wasn't a ripoff or anything. 2. To trial daily contact lenses. This the only real reason that I've deducted a star - because they weren't upfront enough that the trial itself was free but the required eye test wasn't. Ultimately, I didn't end up paying for it anyway, though. 3. To buy prescription polarised sunglasses. Again, they had the best selection of any shop in Cardiff that I've seen and the process is going pretty smoothly, although it's taken almost twice as long as I was told for them to be delivered but that's likely not their fault. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful in my experience.

Brilliant service such caring considerate staff at the Vision express st David's shopping centre .I was seen as an emergency case after trying other opticians .Specsavers dismissed me, boots were unhelpful but vision express fitted me in gave me a thorough examination and found a serious condition , they referred me to the hospital eye clinic where I had an operation to reattach my retina .Vision express were excellent and very professional I can't thank them enough .
