I bought a pair of glasses a year ago, The service when I bought them was good, I went away happy. Now, over a year later, I needed some help with the glasses, and I received very good after sales service. That is why I have chosen to give them five stars. I have found them to deliver consistently good customer care.

I had an amazing experience with Tracey who helped sort out my 6 month old little girl with glasses that actually fit her (another opticians had horrifically let us down). She went above an beyond. She called us to update us about step of the way as she knew I was keen to get things sorted asap. She also went out of her way to look into eligibility for funding for a 2nd specialist pair of glasses as a spare and gave us the info we needed to try and get that sorted. I'm so thankful for the experience I had here and I am looking forward to go back each and every time my little girl needs a new pair!

Following a routine eye examination my optician informed me I have narrow chambers in both eyes. He made a referral immediately to the hospital. I have seen an ophthalmologist who will be operating on both eyes in the coming weeks as my condition is so severe. This condition presents no symptoms and my eye examination has potentially saved my sight. I am so extremely grateful to optician, Pratik Patel. Sincere thanks.

I highly recommend Bethell & Clark. Having previously used a well known High St opticians their service and products just do not compare to Bethell & Clark. From the eye examination through to receiving my glasses and contacts the customer service is impeccable. The choice of frames for myself and my children is extensive and as they have a glazing lab in house I received my glasses within 24hours. The professionalism from all staff members is outstanding and made the whole experience enjoyable for all my family.

Have just purchased two pairs of glasses from Bethell and Clark and felt very satisfied with their professionalism and customer service. I had come to them them after a bed experience with a local chain opticians and wish I had gone there first. The lenses, frames and coatings offered are far superior to that of local multiple chains and the prices are very competitive too! I took my 3 year old daughter here to have her first eye test. The lady who tested her eyes was very good and made my daughter feel at ease and enjoy her first experience of going to an opticians. She then subsequently needed a further appointment and glasses. The optical consultant; Ian was very good with helping my daughter choose her glasses, talking to her at her level and making her laugh. We saw Ian again once the glasses had come in and again he was very good at making my daughter feel at ease and talking to her at her level as to how to wear and care for her glasses. Thank you Bethell and Clark for making my daughters first experience of an opticians a really positive one.

Without a doubt the best Opticians in Colchester, if not Essex! Great staff, all local, with a real family feel. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my eye tests or glasses. The optometrists are 1st class and the receptionists are lovely. The dispensing opticians really know their onions and are always happy to help, even after I have purchased.

First visit - in short, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Despite an afternoon appointment, I wasn't kept waiting and so was even more surprised that the optometrist took his time with the examination and explained everything as it progressed. The professionalism of the gentleman who took me through lens and frame choices afterwards was exemplary and he clearly knows his trade and how to look after his customers.

They were the first professionals to pick up our sons eye difficulties and refered us the hospital for further investigations. Their concerns were justified and our son needed patching. They have provided us with changing prescriptions extremely quickly and offered us frames in designs that makes our son the envy of his friends. B&C have been consistently thorough in assessment and fast in supply of prescriptions . We really cannot recommend this opticians enough. Brought my 2 year old daughter in with concerns with a turned in eye. I wasnt ignored like i had been at other places! come to find my little princess really needed a very strong prescription lense. All the staff made her feel very grown up and chatted to her she was filled with confidence and did everything they asked of her to complete her eye examination. We where then handed to a gentleman named ian to pick and size up her glasses, he aswell has a very professional, kind & gentle manner with my little lady, advising us takeing us step by step providing with the things that are best for her. I was so very worried and concerned after hearing the visual struggle she has but the examiner heard me talking and came back to reassure me (which was lovely). Heres the added bonus her glasses where ready for collection the very next day!!! You cannot ask for more. My little lady is so proud and showing her wonderful glasses off to everyone. Thank you all and b&c it couldn't have gone any better and she says your all her friends. so great impressions all round. 🙂

Collected my glasses, always pleased with the service would not go any where else but i do wish the ladies on reception would smile more especially the lady with the dark hair that sat in the middle of the three on the reception today she did make me feel she did not want to deal with me and i was taking up her time there was no chatting or smile i was just told how much i owed, my money taken and that was it which was disappointing but other than that first class service .Appointments are on time and glasses always ready when they say they will be and a text to let you know that your glasses are ready is very handy.
