I can't express enough how fantastic Simon and his staff are. I went there with quite an unusual eye problem after having complicated surgery. Simon helped and explained it all so clearly to me. He is an excellent optometrist and optician, extremely understanding, kind, caring and passionate about his work. I highly recommend Simon Kleyn, I am so fortunate to have found him. All I can say is wow what a fantastic service. Needed an emergency appointment last Friday and rang in the off chance they could help. Despite it being nearly 4.30 the amazing receptionist messaged Simon Kleyn who was working at the Frinton store who immediately arranged a referral to Colchester emergency eye service. We were contacted to let us know this had been done and given a phone number to ring if we didn’t hear back from. The hospital rang about an hour later and we were seen the following morning. Absolutely amazing service from both Simon Kleyn opticians and the eye clinic. Thanks ever so much.

I cannot speak highly enough of Simon and his team. I was very concerned after noticing one pupil was bigger than the other and started catastrophizing and becoming very anxious about it. I rang at midday and by 5pm that day he had seen me and totally put my mind at ease. I suddenly experienced a serious eye problem. I contacted Simon Kleyn and was seen straight away, examined and referred the same day to hospital where I later had surgery for a detached retina. Simon uses Optomap imaging equipment which enabled him to clearly and easily diagnose the problem. This combined with his kindness, professional approach and speedy direct referral to hospital has hopefully saved my sight. I highly recommend Simon Kleyn Opticians Optometrist.

Excellent service. I had a swollen eyelid that was an infection GP referred me to Simon. Made an appointment quickly but then my symptoms got worse with blurred vision and he got me an emergency appointment at the eye clinic the next day. Even responded to my e mail in a Sunday. Thank you

Simon is an excellent optician, i have visited him a few times now, he has always been very thorough and left me feeling reassured with my eye health. He is professional with his service and provided me with some of the best advice for my eye health. I suffered from dry eyes a few years ago, it was getting to a point where i had no confidence using a computer which is imperative for my job. Simon advised on using a heated compress on my eyes and recommended a plug in heated eye pad from America. Whilst it was expensive at the time, it was well worth the investment and has worked wonders. I would always recommend Simon as an optician to anyone looking. Definitely worth a visit, 5 star service, very rare to find nowadays.

My GP referred me to Simon Kleyn, Optometrist, as a I had a problem with my left eye which appeared to have a small spider moving across eye. I phoned Earls Colne practice and spoke to Charlotte who took all my details and noted my problem; then she explained that Simon was at the Frinton Practice on Friday so I thought no more about it. 45 minutes later I was surprised to get a phone call from Emma at the Frinton practice asking if I could come to an appointment that afternoon. I therefore attended that afternoon and saw Simon Kleyn who did an Eye and optos camera examination after which he explained the results very thoroughly. Simon Kleyn was available to see me at short notice. He was able to diagnose my eye problems swiftly and professionally, explained them well, and could refer me to specific treatments which were detailed in a follow on text. I wanted to find another optician as my previous one stopped fitting new lenses into existing frames on the premises and wanted to send them away for up to two weeks, which is ridiculous. I saw Anna initially who was very helpful, asked lots of questions and suggested I see Simon. Simon took the time to discuss my dry eye problems in detail which no other optometrist has done before, and I am very happy with the service I received. My new lenses are now on order. Had an accident at work and didn’t want to sit in a&e so I phoned Simon Kleyn Opticians to see if could help me. A lovely lady calmly took my details and let me explain what had happened and she explained that they could help me and to come straight in. Was seen within 5mins of arrival even with this dreaded virus all around us!! I was treated by Simon personally and he examined my eyes and took close up picture to reveal a solider burn on my eye. I was given pain relief and antibiotics. I couldn’t believe I only had to £6 for antibiotics no charge for anything else. What a service. Please everybody need to know about this place. I will be storing number on my phone ready for next my school boy error!!

However, recently I developed a small problem with one eye, which gave me some discomfort and caused me anxiety. I would thoroughly recommend Simon Kleyn Opticians. Simon has the qualifications, and all the latest equipment to undertake any eye problems that could occur. Throughout my recent health emergency Simon showed the utmost personal care and attention, professionalism and prompt action, to ensure I received an outstanding service.

Requiring surgery Simon referred me to Moorfields. During the 6/7 months after the operation I have had a couple of queries which I have seen Simon about. Each time he has squeezed me into his busy schedule, carried out the necessary tests and has explained in plain English what has happened and why. Because of his excellent service I have not had to spend time chasing up to London, waiting to be seen at A & E, for what turned out to be a minor problem and would have wasted the precious hospital time.

Very friendly optometrist's in Pole Barn Lane, Frinton On Sea I had a problem with my vision and my eyes were thoroughly examined using Tendring District's only Optomap Eye Care scanning machine, a quick and easy process. The problem was soon identified and I was referred to Colchester's Eye Clinic straight away, operated on just two and a half days later. Got to be my optician of choice from now on.
