Really friendly and helpful staff, excellent service. I had issues with my new prescription glasses. The team listened to my concerns and took them seriously and were so helpful to get them sorted and fit new lenses in time for me going away. Best optician service I have experienced (and I have been wearing glasses for 20 years!) Thank you.

Great place to get your eyes tested. I've been coming here for many years and now my son has started to come here. Very thorough examination of his eyes due to a genetic disorder he had, the optometrist was very patient and understanding. Gave a lot of time to him and was very calm.

Brilliant service - I have never had an eye test before and all the staff were friendly, chatty and generally happy to help me and answer any questions I had and made having an eye test an enjoyable experience. I was worried that I would feel pressured into buying glasses there and then, but this was not the case. The testing was thorough, well explained to me and did not feel rushed. Will come back for future testing

Good opticians, booked online 2 days before going and got a call to confirm my details and found out that my eye test will be free as there doing an offer. I had to confirm my details again when entering. The eye test took about 25 mins although they where running late. All the staff seamed very friendly.

Lovely opticians, all the staff are smiley and seem happy to be at work. They don't badger you when choosing specs which i like and when you're ready there is always someone waiting to help. Makes having an eye test an enjoyable experience.

The new measures for COVID-19 seem to be working well enough. Small issue with fogging up when using some of the apparatus,but no worse that glasses fogging up because of wearing a mask. I've generally got at least a couple of questions about why my eye sight is getting worse or my current glasses aren't working as well as they possibly should and the staff manage to come up with the answer,which isn't always a simple change of prescription. There always happy to help out when I've used them. There's definitely cheaper places to buy glasses off the internet,but with the issues that both myself and my partner have had with lense choice, adjustment of frames and graduation of varifocal lenses, there's no way we would have got them correct without professional help. I'm happy to pay for that.

Absolutely superb service! After suffering from CoViD-19 symptoms my vision was left somewhat diminished and so I thought best check my eyesight is okay and of course Specsavers were the ones to call as I had been isolating in Durham anyway. Despite being closed during lockdown they were able to test my eyes by having an optician give me a call whilst I was on a drive. We all know that's the best way to test your eyesight. Whilst driving towards a local castle they asked me approximately how far away signs were, if I could read them, whether my wife thought I was driving straight and not crossing any road lines. It was honestly the best eye test I have ever and was made all the more special by the fact it was the first time I'd ever driven a car!

There really are no deals. The added utility items pile up. Process of trying display frames on seems unhygienic. Copies of retained retina scans not offered, perhaps worth asking. Quite efficient process overall.The driving varifocals are not astonishing but seem effective. Will use Specsavers again.

Obviously this is a difficult one. Given my recovery from Covid, my love for my child and the 260 miles I had driven to love my family even more than we had forseen possible in the nation's capital, it was the competition of service provided to us by Barnard Castle where I feel my eyesight was better trusted with a 30 minute drive, toilet break, sit-down and play-time in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the North Pennines. When, and only when, do Specsavers resolve to offer a comparable situation will these three stars be reviewed.

I have visited Specsavers for many years I went for an appointment last Friday at your Middlesbrough store. I regret that I did not ask the eye test examiner for her name. I have to say that I was much impressed. I was given a full and careful examination. The young woman was most caring and explained about macular degeneration very fully. I came away comforted and full of praise for the service received
