I booked my eye examination here having never visited this branch previously. I arrived early but was still greeted cheerfully and booked in by someone at the desk. The member of staff who did my initial checks was called Bilal, they were extremely polite and professional and a good ambassador for the brand. I then went on to see the optician themselves and the excellent service continued. I’d never look at booking anywhere else now for my eye exams. 👍🏼

Went in to try on frames, was given a box to put worn frames in which was good that you still had the normal experience of trying frames yourself and also safe as they’ll be cleaned before being put back for next person. While mask wearing and social distancing made the experience a bit different than it would have otherwise been (lots of fogging up of lenses) they were patient and we made the best of it. Well-mannered staff. Eye test went smoothly. I just wish there were more glasses to choose from and for the staff discuss your lifestyle more with you and how that affects vision. The glasses are overpriced through so for that I'm leaving a 3 star review. But the staff did their job properly. 👍

Over £400 per pair for a poor product. After an absolutely horrible experience at the Rutherglen office, where it was very rushed, 2 appointments were required for one exam and the person from whom I received my glasses refused to fit them, the St. Enoch store was the opposite experience. A huge thank you to the employees who assisted me! I dropped in without an appointment, and they patiently heard the issues with my glasses...that I could not wear because the fit was so poor. They took the time to attempt to fit my glasses with friendly efficiency. Update: Despite the attempt to fix the poor fit of the extremely expensive glasses, 6 months later, they were very difficult to wear causing headaches. No offers to replace or refund. I would not trust this company with something this important. Very expensive, poor product and overall poor service.

They didn’t pressure me into buying certain glasses and so on. Helped me pick something that suited me as a person which is what I was worried about when wearing glasses for the first time. Went in for a check-up, Thea was super helpful and friendly. She spoke to me about dry eyes and gave me a few hints and tips to help throughout the year. Had laser eye surgery done in aug 2017, service was fantastic, they were professional and helped me through each step. The after care is superb as well and they made sure your eyes are adjusting and don’t just forget about you.

Excellent service from the friendly staff at St Enoch Sq, Glasgow. My only moan is with their appointment scheduling software: Made an appointment with the branch over the phone for 2pm; confirmation email said 1:45pm; and reminder email said 1:50 pm. I wasn't phased, though, as the exact same thing happened on my previous visit over a year ago. Very weird that they don't sort this out, as it obviously spreads confusion and customers will question if Optical Express know what they are doing.

Firstly, Joanne was absolutely amazing with my 4 year old son who was very anxious about his first experience at an opticians. She instantly made him feel at ease and her warm and friendly manner kept him calm at all times. He found it to be much more enjoyable than he’d anticipated and is now the very proud owner or two very cool pairs of glasses. Secondly, Joanne tested my own eyes. She was professional, informative and honest. I can not recommend her highly enough. After selecting my own glasses, Jennifer processed my order, informing me that our glasses would take between a week and ten days to arrive. I was delighted to see that 3 pairs were here within 3 days and the fourth pair arrived a few days later. Excellent service all round and I will certainly be returning.

They called me letting me know my eyes were due their regular test, which is just brilliant. The staff were kind, courteous and very understanding, especially Amy who, due to a mix-up on my part, spent a long time making many many phone calls trying to sort it out for me. She went well beyond what almost any staff member I've ever been served by has ever gone. Despite me being the cause of the mix-up, Amy, nor any of the other staff, never once made me feel uncomfortable (far too many retail staff we encounter today treat the customer like an annoyance, like something that's disturbing the smooth running of the business). Most importantly, the staff at this branch of Optical Express, especially Amy, made me feel valued. If that's not proper dedication, then I don't know what is.

Lovely service and professional staff in a relaxed atmosphere. I had the smoothest, easiest and most comfortable eye test here after being to other stores of other franchises. The staff also helped me pick out stylish pairs of glasses and sunglasses within my price range which I appreciated a lot as I get lost choosing glasses.

Booked in for an eye test, and to purchase new glasses after my current pair finally broke after a 4 year relationship with my face. That's enough to drive anyone to snapping lets be honest. Staff were very friendly, Sophie was extremely patient as I had to go full 'clockwork orange' on the eye puffing machine just so she could get the shots needed since I'm a complete wimp who apparently can't take gentle puffs of air to the eye. The optician was fantastic, was only in for around 10 minutes with the gentleman who was welcoming to my numerous "Can ye show me the other one again" requests. David, the chap who showed me glasses around the store was great help, helping me pick out 2 or 3 sets to look at based on the remnants of my now in-pieces ex specs. We set on a pair, and picked a backup set too. All is well, get the fancy driving lenses. Here we go. Price is what you'd expect, not cheap but then again if you force your eyes to see the things my eyes sometimes see on the internet you can understand paying a fair amount to get them working properly again. So far everything is 5/5 with the visit, and it would have remained this way had it not been for being asked to post this review while in store. I had already told the staff that I was going to do it, and I can fully understand that a lot of people would say this, but then not do it, but I genuinely was going to. But being asked rather awkwardly if I could post it while in store was a little...off putting. I'm not sure if it was the staff member's choice to ask me this or if they are being told to ask customers to do this, but honestly - don't. It comes across as really disingenuous. All in all in terms of the services actually provided by the staff it was 5/5. But yikes guys, lay off the pushing for reviews part.

A couple of highlights from my visit today: - Full range of eye tests, and I had my inner eye photos e-mailed to me free of charge, - My work situation was taken into account when writing the prescription so that I could save money on new lenses, - Absolutely no issues when I asked if my old frames could be re-used, and the price of the service was very friendly. I was also told that it only takes a day to reglaze frames. Joanne and Laura provided a very good service - I was hoping for an optometrist visit which focused more on lenses and eye health than frames (I like my old ones), and it's exactly what I got.

They keep in touch to remind you when appointments are due, the eye examinations are always professionally done and they follow up with your results immediately. Don’t like being sold sight correction surgery on every visit but accept it is a business. From last visit just want to add that their protocols to reduce any risk from Covid 19 are very good, from reduced numbers in the store, to spacing to disinfecting surfaces. Felt safe.

Booked an eye test on Saturday and had an appointment by Sunday afternoon. As soon as I walked in the door everyone I came across were helpful and polite. Was offered a member of staff's seat whilst I waited and was seen within 5 minutes of arriving. I bought my glasses in February this year. Like the glasses although I felt they were very expensive. One of the screws just came loose and the lens fell out scratching it. Went back in today (October). Just been charged £240.00 for two lenses. Not happy, but I do prefer their lenses.

booked a next day appointment for Glasgow St Enoch Branch online, at a time that suited me. Went through a battery of tests, (history of Glaucoma in family), all came out well with exception, of slight decline in nearsightedness, and advised needed drops for dry eyes which they would put on my prescription for my GP to put on repeat order for me. Good Selection of Frames, I opted to go for 2 pairs, (distance and reading, rather than Varifocals) and at my request opted for Glass lenses, as i find them clearer. Was advised may take a few days longer for my specs to be ready due to my choice of Glass over plastic lenses, which was slightly disappointing. but Overall would give an A+ rating, for the Staff, Layout of Branch, and Service on the day , I visited..

From the initial Free consultation, I knew my eyes were in good hands. Excellent care and no hard sell. On the day of the surgery, I arrived in good time and efficiently passed through the checking process to ensure complete accuracy and then on to see the consultant. Shortly after, it was my time for zapping. A few eye drops, a little discomfort while they created the flap and then the flashing started. Completely painless. Then repeated on the other side. Everything was explained as it happened and everyone was reassuring. A few more drops and my eye flap was replaced. I think it took about 10 minutes. Then, on my feet to a recovery area where I sat for an hour or so. A chance for a coffee and a chat with others who had just had the same. Another quick examination and I was on my way home with sunglasses on to rest. After a few hours there was quite a bit of stinging, but this only lasted 60-90 minutes. Shortly after that, I was playing pool. I won! Follow up appointments the day after, week after and month after showed my sight was stable and I was very pleased with the outcome. I had considered laser eye surgery 10 years ago, but was put off by the unprofessional Harley Street Opthalmologist I visited. Optical Express undid the bad experience I'd had 10 years earlier and I wish I had seen them years ago. If you are considering, but unsure about having laser eye surgery, or don't know which company to use. Look no further. Optical Express will look after you and you will not be pressured into anything you don't feel comfortable with.
