Kind, friendly and professional service from all the staff. Easy to figure out where to check-in and comfortable waiting rooms, albeit for quite short waits. Prices for tests are very economical and glasses are averagely priced with good options and styles (mirrors available for checking the latter)!

Don't know why they bother giving you a appointment time as we we half hour late being seen and then it's a case of more waiting. More a game of musical chairs without the music. However, the woman who helped with chosen specs could not be faulted, great service given by her.

Having purchased new Glasses at your Ipswich Shop about four weeks ago, I found my mid sight and long site vision fuzzy. There seemed little point in accepting this, so I visited the Shop for more advise. Although very busy they found someone to rectify this matter, and I cannot speak more highly of the service I got from their employee Jesse Scopes. She explained what the problem could be and what remedy would be successful. I came away feeling I was an individual and not a number on their computer. She also explained that should this not cure the problem, I had 3 months from the day of purchase to return for more free advice. Ten out of Ten.

I have been going every 2 years for eyetests for the last 30 years and I have not had any complaints. The staff is very helpful and I am more than happy with the ophthalmologists. Excellent customer service. On a practical point, Specsavers has, in my view, a wide range of frames and styles which suit every purse. Finally their 2 for 1 is great.

Friendly staff and service, and the optician made me feel at ease, explained things well and gave me an opportunity to ask any questions I might have. They were slightly insistent wrt getting new frames rather than reusing old frames, but not a hard-sell by any means, but it gave me the impression that they might be commissioned on these sales - this may be an issue for some who may feel 'guided' to spending on new frames than reusing existing ones. However, be aware that there is no phone signal inside most of the store, and no available guest WiFi (there is a BT wifi point but it I couldn't connect as it was full - which is the only place I've ever encountered a full Wifi hotspot!)

Great service, their in depth eye examination turned up a bit of a problem, they referred me to hospital for emergency treatment of that problem. Hopefully having caught problem early it will be sorted out successfully but let's face it without their tests problem would not have been found!!!!!

Attended an appointment to pick up my glasses. I haven't had an bad experience before with Specsavers and have used since I started needing glasses. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment time and advised the staff member I was there to pick my glasses up. They directed me to a table and chair without taking my name or the time of my appointment and advised someone will be with me shortly. I struggle with anxiety and it is helpful to me for someone to explain what is happening, if their is a delay or what to expect at this visit. After 10 minutes of waiting I asked a team member who was walking past, he if was aware of how long I would be waiting as I have another appointment to get to (as it was past my appointment time). After he finally acknowledged me, he advised he would have look and let me know. He stated it would be a further 10 minutes and there was a delay due to the time of day and school children appointments. Up until that point, how am I supposed to know there is a delay? All I was told is that someone would be with me shortly! I personally felt bad for disturbing them and now couldn't wait to get out the store. After a short wait the same team member stated he would assistant, tried on my glasses, tightened them and appointment was done. Although I hope he thought he was being helpful, it honestly made me feel like I was being an issue for them and wanted to get rid of me as soon as possible. I left the appointment feeling bad and that I was rude when that wasn't my intention - I just wanted to know what was happening. I personally think this is a good company which is why I use the service but just wish more were curteous to people who struggle in social interaction.

If i had to find a complaint, was a bit too hot!! Was met at door, & shown to a seat in a perspex 3 sided cubicle, my partner in the next one. Waited about 10 min's before i was taken for pre appointment test's & the scan of my eye's i had decided to have which cost's £10, regardless of your circumstances. We were then taken to the other side of shop to wait which was about another 10 min's. I went into the small room & just about managed to get in the quite high wheeled chair(i walk with 2 stick's) which wasn't easy. The Optician was very thorough with the test's, he looked at the eye scan I'd had done, he looked for a very long time. Cutting long story short, i went & chose 2 pairs of glasses, had another scan & turns out i have a problem with my left eye, which I've been referred to hospital for. So that £10 was definitely worth it. Staff were polite, & all wore mask's & gloves.

Urgently needed to repair my Glasses a Ten minute wait turned into 2 mins, Plus service with a smile upon entering the store and upon leaving. I literally received Top Class Service. Two hour plus wait, over £200 for one pair of glasses. Staff excellent as always but not enough staff considering how busy they get; this was mid-week. My problem is with the phone/online system: I want to change the date/time for picking up my glasses so I tried to do so online but you can only book new appointments. I phoned, was told to leave a message after the tone or speak to someone - there was no tone and it went to engaged every time I phoned! Poor organisation letting you down.

My intermediate glasses were way off focus and was served by a guy called Richard @ the Ipswich branch. He took time to understand what was wrong with them and got them altered. He was very good with his advice too as I was thinking of varifocals and he believes in a few years off that. Great service.

Good for adjustments to glasses however the home assessment for older people is not good if the glasses arrive and are not suitable not allot of chance phoning to get them sorted. This service is organise by an outside entity and I now have to wait till the end of march to get my mother in laws glasses corrected.

We nipped in for a repair job today and didn’t even think about booking ahead, the place was heaving ( day three of summer holidays ) and we were still seen within 10-15 minutes. The only thing that made me consider leaving a lower rating was that the lady who helped us came across stressed but quite obviously - I work in a retail setting and appreciate when it’s busy you are stretched on time, but you just got to express your frustration away from the customer. But I won’t let one person being stretched effect the overall rating of the entire place and team.

Please give my many thanks to the ear care team in regards of cleaning out my ears due to wax build up. This seems to be a yearly occurrence for me as I working in the dusty environment with jobs overall. Before I used to go down to GPs to get this done by the nurse to get my ears syringed and they no longer do this and had to go private and I felt quite sceptical with Specsavers as I always associate them with eye care. Booked the appointment the nice audiologist gave me the run down of the procedure using Microsuction (which was new for me) and I found the whole process to be straight forward and quite a relief getting rid of the wax build up. All the way through the audiologists were so careful and gentle :) I recommend and I will be returning again :) Thanks for your services.

I like going to Specsavers as the choices of spectacles are very good but I have to say I sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed by the variety, sometìmes i feel a bit like I can't make a decision. The staff are really polite and friendly, always keen to help. Sometimes you do feel like you are at a train or bus station! Seeing th tv ad I was quite looking forward to having my face mapped by computer to see what frame I should go for but they don't have that facility in the Ipswich branch.. very disappointed but instead having got a collection of frames on my arm I had the manager tell me what to go for. The frames are always so expensive and even if they have an offer it's never for the frames or lenses you are having. The price you have to pay for the frames and lenses is always so much more especially as they top it up with various bits and pieces. I really don't think spectacles should be as much as they are and Specsavers should lead the way forward having cheaper specs. I don't think so called celebrities should be able to put their name to several pairs of frames so the cost is made much more to be able to enable them to have a cut... they probably haven't had anything to do with them!

I had a contact lenses stuck in the back of my eye which was very painful. My usual branch in Felixstowe could not offer me an appointment until late afternoon so I contacted the Ipswich branch who invited me in immediately. I was assessed by Kelly who was fantastic, despite trying everything to bring the lense forward she was unable to locate the lense, Kelly contacted the on duty ophalmologist at IPH for advice, I was given an appointment for the same day!
