Overall the staff and general service was very good. Everyone was polite and helpful and my appointment ran smoothly and on time. What I wasn't so happy with was that I now feel a little misled. After I saw the optician they ushered me out into the store to "pick out some new frames", a helpful lady then made suggestions and handed me ones to try on etc. She wasn't pushy or anything but at this point I was unaware of my prescription (reading glasses), so picked out some frames and we proceeded to the desk to finalise things. She brought up my details and took a measurement, then took payment. Only then did she print off my prescription and give it to me. It was a very basic +1 in each eye, not once did she looks at my prescription and suggest that I could buy some reading glasses "off the shelf" so to speak. I have now spent a lot of money on glasses when I could've gone somewhere and picked up similar ones fairly cheaply. Had I have seen my prescription before I made payment that's exactly what I would've done.

New to the store and I was greeted with a warm welcome. The eye test was very thorough and the staff were very friendly, welcoming and informative. I was helped whilst choosing glasses and at no point was I pressured into buying something I didn’t want. I was helped throughout the whole process and it was nice that I visited different departments/stations throughout. The process flowed really nicely. Plenty of choice and a good range of prices. I found all the staff at the White Rose Branch, very helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. The optometrist was very thorough, although I would have liked her to explain to me the outcome and reason for the various tests that I had, including a referral to the eye hospital. The eye test was very thorough prompt. All the staff were efficient, professional and polite. I am not a fan of being escorted around the shop when trying on frames. I feel more under pressure and didn't feel I had the space to try all the frames on that I wanted to. Whilst Yasser was a very amenable person, it still felt like the car sales forecourt experience. Yasser very kindly offered to tighten up the arm of my existing glasses which had come loose but in the process left two scratches on the lenses right across my line of sight. I also have one nose pad missing now. He has offered to send them off to be mended but obviously not ideal.

Although the team were running late, they did not rush the initial eye examination and then the customer service team took over. The COVID element was adhered to and all glasses were not returned to the stand but sanitised once touched offering confidence with all the products. My expert was Galina Bramwell and she was fantastic. There was no rush even though the team were up against a large client attendance in store. Galina spent the time finding me the perfect glasses. Galina explained the difference in the styles I initially chose. We got down to three and they were honest with their thoughts as an expert. Some glasses were slightly too small, others were not right for me but we found what I can only describe as the perfect pair. The next stage was the measurement of the lens as well as being fully explained, the options available were described effortlessly and with expert knowledge on any questions raised. Once the measurements were completed, a full debrief of what I had purchased was explained as well as the aftercare service. I could not fault any aspect of this service and if there were any staff/colleague incentives I would happily support Galina receiving one of these as I will not only come back to your business but I would also promote the work completed. I have vouchers through work at other opticians but I would forego these to return to Galina.

I felt relaxed and at ease I just found that the hand over was not great as the girl who was sorting me out was very nervous and was not 100% sure what she was doing and also when it came to picking my glasses I felt rushed and was not left to myself to have a look but we are always treated well and respectful. I visited with my daughter and she was not even asked whether she had any benefits for NHS vouchers and we are on universal credit but she said she was too scared to ask and for me to leave it but it bothers me she was not asked with her being 21 but looking 14 felt they should have asked her more than asking me to be honest

Impeccable service. Friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable staff throughout. Infection control measures were fantastically executed without too much disruption. Only negative and not the fault of the store is the longer delivery time on products and the way they have to be distributed at a cost passed on to the customer. I’d rather collect them from store but that option is removed due to limiting numbers in store. Get it... but it shouldn’t be passed on. Lost a star there.

Eye test good, felt very comfortable but right from the start the sales pitches started and this continued throughout the time I was there with three different people - can’t complain about the service but I do feel that you need to calm dow Vision express with the £10 extra for this test, £10 extra for an eye compress, £ for anti glare, £ for better lenses and so on and so on .....which slightly distracted from the great customer focus from each if the team members, and a little bit overwhelming! Oh and btw you charged me for the eye test despite your team telling me because I’m 65+ I wouldn’t pay for. Choice of glasses I’m very pleased with.

Called at the White rose shopping mall on very quiet Tuesday lunchtime. Thought I would try Optical Express, but was surprised they were doing appointment only, so was unable to look at the range of sun glasses they had to offer despite them been open and having staff stood around with nothing to do and no customers. I Left feeling this might be the case for all optometrist selling glasses and that my hour drive might have been a waste of time. After a short walk I came across Vision express, which was open and they were more than happy to advise and let me select and try any of extensive selection of sunglasses from budget to high end designer brands. Chose a set of ray bands with polarised lenses after trying lots different styles from a good range. Selecting glasses has to be done in store to get the right glasses for your face so internet shopping was not an option for me on this purchase. Was assured by the staff that any store selling like for like, price would be matched if cheaper along with internet 20% price discount. Pleased with my purchase, only cheaper by £9 online, with no option to try on on in a store. Good friendly helpful staff and COVID safe.

On my recent visit to vision express I found it on the whole quite pleasant experience. The optician was very attentive had a pleasant manner about her and she explained the procedure very well The associate Yasser Mahmood who helped me choose the frames and the measurements for the lenses was very helpful and had a nice manner about him However at some point he called a fellow associate over to check the procedure and this person I found to be very unpleasant and quite rude towards me when he talked to me , at the time I didn’t say anything but in hindsight I wish I had of done afterwards. I didn’t catch his name he was quite a slim man not too tall but lacked empathy quite cold and very rude and harsh. I have been coming to vision express in the white rose centre in Leeds for quite a few years now for my eye tests but after this recent appointment and because of what happened to me it has made me question if I will come here again in the future.

Vision Express were really helpful, and I’m happy so far. I just need my glasses now! I would have given a 5* review, but I was just a tad disappointed with the masks they wore at vision express. Even the optometrist wore a standard face cover, and not the N95 specification mask that I am required to wear as a healthcare professional. I wear N95 mask, visor, apron and gloves for work as a Podiatrist, while attending to the feet. The optometrist gets very close, to my face, yet he and all staff wore the flimsy masks with the gaps over the nose and cheeks. That’s my only niggle. Apologies.

Hit and miss here. Easy parking and open late, and they have one of the best optometrists I've ever come across. However there are lots of younger optometrists who can be way off the mark. With my own glasses I had to go back three times to get the right prescription (until I got sorted by the more experienced optometrist who is brilliant). Have also been taking my daughter, and the first couple of experiences were with a young woman who clearly had no experience with children, talking to my 5 year old as if she were an adult. It is a very slow store as well. I waited 45 mins for my appointment today. That isn't it out the ordinary when I've been there for eye tests. There are never enough seats in the waiting area when it is busy. The floor staff are generally very nice and really quick to get you a seat when you need to sit down with them for fitting/purchasing/discussing issues, but I'm never too sure what I'm buying with them, and how they make up their minds on the various offers/deals available. I've also tried booking through the website a couple of times and they either don't call me in time, or there are no appointments as it is a very busy store.

Great experience! I’d walked out of the other White Rose opticians after poor service and ended up at Vision express, what a difference, offered a warm drink, friendly staff spoke to me, explained my needs and the offers they had, helped me choose my first pair of glasses with a promise to swap if I’m not 100% happy after a few weeks wear!! What more could you want!
