I had my Lasik treatment two weeks ago and I still can't believe that I can now clearly see without contacts or glasses. I had - 4.00 diopters for both eyes and do have now 0.00. It's just incredible! I had my pre check and all aftercare in Leicester and the eye laser treatment in Birmingham (as they offered an appointment on a Saturday). Both clinics and their teams have been fantastic and I can definitely recommend Lasik treatment with them.

I have worn glasses since I was 11 years old and contacts since I was 16. I had accepted this would be forever however after turning 40 I decided to face my fears and have laser eye surgery! All I can say is WOW! The whole process from start to finish was smooth, informed and patient centred. Every member of staff I came into contact with was professional, kind and caring. I felt confidant in whole process and all risks had been explained and explored. The laser itself was uncomfortable but was over very quickly. Within less than 24hrs I had driving standard vision and on my second check up I was told I no longer had a prescription! Fantastic clinic! I had LASIK and a very good experience with Optimax, they were very nice and helpful. They were so nice during the procedure, the surgeon was very reassuring and made sure I was staying calm as I was nervous when I went into the procedure room. They explained all of the eyedrops and aftercare things I need to do. During all of my appointments before and post surgery they were professional and very helpful. Most importantly the information such as risk etc. were very well explained. I definitely recommend this place and the price is very reasonable compared to other places I went for consultation.

I underwent Laser Eye surgery with Optimax over six weeks ago now and I can't fault the experience at all. From initial query, to consultation & 'surgery' date, the team were helpful, honest and completely transparent with regards to treatment, costs and recovery. My second consultation was here and I found Optimax to be a much better option over the first company I visited. The first felt quite pushy towards a decision on treatment, but there was no pressure to go ahead from Optimax. Following consultation, the fee the first company were to charge was much higher than originally indicated. This was not the case with Optimax, who have a fixed fee per eye, with no hidden costs. Six weeks on & my vision has fully recovered. I suffer from allergies and dry eyes any way, and as a consequence of the surgery, the dryness has got a little worse. However, this side effect, is easily treatable through regular use of dry eye drops & was made clear to me before surgery. It is definitely worth it to not have to worry about glasses or lenses! Overall, the team in Leicester, notably Kelly, who was my 'patient adviser', Deepak, who helped prep me for the procedure and worked on reception, as well as my surgeon Dr Bhojani, have all been shining examples for Optimax. A honest, friendly and warm team. I truly would recommend the procedure & Optimax themselves, to anyone. David Martin

Can't speak more highly of my experience with Optimax Leicester. Everyone was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. After wearing glasses for 14 years I decided to bite the bullet and get LASIK. Fantastic, highly recommend from the initial consultation. I am now just over 2 weeks post surgery for lens replacement. Absolutely amazing experience at this clinic and I know have perfect vision! From the start of the process to the after care appointments, the staff have been amazing. They have shown great care and explain every part of the process so well. In particular, Kelly was amazing from the outset to explain what will happen and what stages are coming and shared her experiences which helped. Also the optician Arif made me feel like I was in the right place. He is so knowledgeable about the different techniques and has a way of explaining them so anyone can understand. He has great patient manner and I always enjoy the appointments with him. Even in aftercare he always looked after me and made sure all my concerns were answered and I felt at ease. The surgeon was also very professional and personable. On the day she made me feel at ease and the surgery was done in 10 mins. All this let me know I came to the right place here. Other clinics (Optical Express) try to sell a big marketing gig but here it's brilliant service and my vision has been amazing since my surgery and it didn't cost as much as other clinics. This was the best investment I've made!

Recently had laser eye surgery at Optimax and it was very straightforward. Staff were very friendly and informative. The surgeon introduced herself beforehand via zoom, went through the importance of consent whilst being fully informed of the procedure and was as informative and considerate during the procedure. The optometrist, who I’ve seen the most was sincerely kind and warm. Only flaw would be after the procedure I was just left to find my way to my locker and chair, and although my sight was pretty good straight after, the process is slightly traumatising and a supportive guide to my stuff and chair would of been great. Would fully recommend and so grateful for my vision.

After many years of having to rely on varifocal glasses and disliked wearing them so much, I made the decision to have replacement lens surgery. I did a lot of research before hand as this was a major decision for me and I wanted to go to the best specialists around. I chose Optimax as they were local to me in Leicester and because of their great reviews. On arrival I was greeted by a member of staff who took all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of myself and their staff against Covid-19. I was seen quickly on my first consultation and every visit thereafter. I was given lots of tests on my eyes before meeting Arif the Opthamologist who then checked my eyes thoroughly and decided on the correct strength of lenses required for my eyes. He answered all my questions and reassured me as I was very nervous about having the procedure, especially as I have glaucoma. Arif recommended I have distance lense replacements and just buy cheap over the counter readers. I was happy with that. My next appointment was to meet and discuss the operation with the surgeon Mr Christopher Stevenson. He was a lovely man who talked me through everything and told me exactly what to expect on the day of my operation. The big day came and again every member of staff were really nice and friendly. Mr. Stephenson saw me again checked my eyes again before i went to theatre. I was first taken to a room where a lovely nurse put drops in to my eyes, anesthetics etc. In theatre I was made comfortable on the operating table and then Mr Stephenson began. He talked to me throughout and explained everything as he worked on replacing my lenses. I had one eye done then the team re scrubbed before the other eye was done. In total I think I was in theatre for around 45 minutes. I felt no pain whatsoever during the operation or afterwards. I was on my way home after about an hour and a half. I was amazed by the results so quickly. The first night I had lots of strange lights in my eyes but that soon disappeared the next day. I had lots of eye drops to put in to my eyes for the next few weeks but I find them easy to administer. I was seen 2 days after my procedure to check all was well. I was seen again 10 days later and I was told I could start wearing eye make up again. I am now 3 weeks post op and I'm so pleased with the results. I would recommend Optimax to anyone who is thinking about getting rid of their glasses for good. A big thank you to all the staff who at Leicester Clinic who were all very helpful and professional. I had multifocal lens replacement surgery. Everyone at Leicester surgery were friendly, welcoming and professional. Dr Stephenson was great. He talked me through each step of the procedure, what he was doing and what I should expect. He did this for each eye, one week apart, so didn't assume I'd remember! Deepak, Kelly and the surgical team were really helpful. I had a slight problem, as the second lens hadn't arrived and I went into panic stations as it was slightly different to the first one, to deal with an astigmatism, but in the end all was well and they used a standard lens. The aftercare was excellent, Arif was supportive and I was given the reassurance I needed at times when I was unsure of progress in seeing my vision improving. I would say to take your time, do not expect miracles. Listen to the advice given and accept that your vision will not be perfect, but it is better than wearing glasses.

I would like to thank the whole team at Optimax (Leicester) for giving me my eye sight back. I had a +6.5 prescription in both eyes with a huge astigmatism that was deteriorating further. I visited the clinic for a consultation and they advised me to consider refractive lens exchange. In February 2021 I had multifocal refractive lens exchange at Optimax Leicester. Being very shortsighted for many years and having recently become intolerant to wearing contact lenses, I decided to enquire about vision correction at Optimax following a recommendation from a friend who had had laser eye surgery. After a thorough consultation and assessment RLE was recommended to me. All aspects of the process and procedure were thoroughly explained, as well as the reasons for recommending that particular surgery, and the outcome they would aim to achieve, allowing me to make a well-informed decision to go ahead. I was quite nervous on the first day (each eye is treated individually a week apart) but all the staff at Leicester were so friendly it quickly put me at ease. The nurses really looked after me, and my surgeon was such a calming presence, gently reassuring me as he went. The procedure itself took only a few minutes, was completely painless, and I could see much better pretty much immediately afterwards, I was amazed! A few weeks on and both eyes have settled nicely and I am now glasses free! It still feels like such a novelty to wake up each morning and not have to fumble around for my glasses to read the time on my alarm clock, thank you so much Optimax Leicester!

I have had a really good experience with optimax. From the moment of showing interest to finally committing to surgery, I never felt pressured into making any decisions and was given all the information needed to make any decisions. Optimax were calm, understanding and really wanted me to understand the process and the procedure itself. I would recommend this clinic to anyone considering laser eye surgery!! I started by journey back in October and was only considering having surgery, I had LASIK treatment in the December. There was no pressure into making a decision and I feel like I was informed well. Every member of staff I came into contact with were friendly and made me feel welcome and safe. On the day of surgery, I was very nervous but every member of staff (especially Kelly) went out of their way to make me feel at ease. I had LASIK surgery done with Optimax Leicester in October 2020 and what can I say - the results have been incredible (previously sliight astigmatism and -3, -2.75)! All of the aftercare was included in the price (£3590) and the information given a few weeks before the surgery was thorough, detailing past outcomes on patients of my age group with the same prescription. Kelly, Deepak and Arif in particular were incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful at all appointments, really making the experience feel personalised, a factor that made me want to stay with Optimax. Unfortuntely, one star is lost as I would've benefitted greatly from Dr Bhojani, my surgeon, talking through the procedure a lot more as it was being performed - I felt in the dark at times about what was happening and there was no obvious warning when my vision would go dark, blurry, or when something uncomfortable was about to happen (I'm not an anxious person but at times I felt panicky although I convinced myself everything would be ok!). In addition, the Optimax experience could've been improved on surgery day by giving a little more time to "have a moment" immediately following surgery. Be warned, the emotional toll of this life-changing surgery is barely mentioned if at all, but may be considerable! The follow-up appointments (for me!) were very brief (5 minutes if that), it could be beneficial to have these organised at no extra cost with a local optometrist (2 hour round trip for me to my nearest clinic, Leicester). All in all I would highly recommend Optimax Leicester for LASIK, even now during COVID as the cleanliness and protection measures in place made me feel very safe!

I have not long had the contact lense implants at the Leicester branch. From my first consultation right up to today I cannot fault a single aspect of the service I have received. Every single member of staff I had an interaction with was outstanding. I had the lenses because my corneas were too thin for laser and I was also a -8.25 prescription. I now have 20/20 vision it’s absolutely amazing. The procedure was fine and the healing process really good zero pain. I 100% recommend choosing Optimax. Their pricing is the most competitive and they are very transparent with everything plus there’s free life time after care I don’t think the others provide. The only thing that was difficult was the numerous trips to the branch where you can’t drive so arranging child care and for someone to take me and take time off work from Nottingham was a pain maybe a subsidised taxi service would help for those that don’t live close by. Other than that I am over the moon with the whole experience :)

Cannot recommend this clinic enough!! I had LASIK treatment last November and within hours my vision was clear. The treatment itself was absolutely painless, and any discomfort in the few hours afterwards was immediately relieved by the eye drops given. I’ve spent the last 30 years wearing glasses, hard lenses and for the most-part, soft lenses. I’ve always wanted to undergo laser eye surgery but was too frightened in case something went wrong, but finally, in the year of 2020 vision, I decided to bite the bullet! I did my research and it was apparent that Optimax had carried out a huge number of surgeries and with a tremendous success rate. I only chose the Leicester clinic due to its proximity to my home and I certainly wasn’t disappointed, as everyone involved have been so friendly and ultra-efficient, particularly given the current situation surrounding COVID-19. Whilst everyone in the clinic have been amazing, my after-care Optician, Arif, has really gone above and beyond, assisting me with Army medical applications and ensuring any information needed has been provided. My eyes were -5.75, I was advised to have LASIK and I’m over the moon with the result...the difference is staggering and truly life-changing. The recovery process was exactly as described, the after-care was fantastic and I would highly recommend having the surgery, especially at this clinic.

l was a bit squeamish even though my husband had his eyes done at optimax years ago. l needn't have worried - everyone at optimax Leicester was wonderful. I had LASIK surgery last week and the whole process has been very informative and I’ve been made to feel comfortable especially with all the covid restrictions- masks worn and temperatures checked on arrival. I had Lens Replacement surgery for both eyes at Optimax Leicester in June 2021 and have been thrilled with the results. I was extremely impressed with the care and professionalism of all the staff who I encountered. I was more than a little anxious about my procedure as I didn't know anyone who'd had it done previously and Arif the Opthamologist was extremely patient, taking me through each stage of the procedure answering all my questions with real zeal. I really appreciated his clarity and honesty. Kelly was the main nurse that I had dealings with and she couldn't have been more helpful. She has a very positive energy about her and was very good about guiding me through all the elements that the surgery involved. I really valued her opinion especially when it came to the after-care aspects which are so important to get right. I'd say that she was the main reason I went ahead with the procedure after vacillating about it for so long. I trusted her. Mr Stevenson was my surgeon and I really couldn't have asked for anyone better. During the initial consultation his skill and expertise spoke volumes and it was reassuring to be able to talk to him candidly about the risks involved in surgery. Having him operate on me was an incredible experience. He was incredibly skilful in what he did and constantly reassured me throughout the procedure as it did feel quite bizarre. I didn't experience any pain or even discomfort at any point which might sound strange but it's true. It just feels odd and not a little dreamlike. My final outcome has far exceeded all my expectations taking me from a minus12 to a point where I need off-the-shelf reading glasses. I am constantly struck by the sheer clarity of my vision and stand around marvelling at details I've never previously been able to see. I hesitate to use the term life changing but that's what it has been: not having to constantly rely on my glasses has really made a huge difference in the overall quality of my life and I owe all that to the skill and professionalism of the team at Optimax Leicester.

I had my laser Lásik surgery 23th Dec 2018 at optimax in Leicester !. A week and 1 day later my eyes are fab. My whole experience with optimax has been absolutely amazing . All the staff are wonderful, great and they listen to you . I want to thanks Arif the optometrist, Dr Bhojani the surgeon, Faye and Camila on reception, they were absolutely amazing. I was very scared of having laser treatment but they made me feel very comfortable. Everything was explained to me in detail and nothing was rushed . It’s pain free and a great result at the end. I had my treatment at 12:30. Went home slept for a few hours and by 4:30 I could see , my vision was perfect. My only regret is why didn’t I get it done sooner. Was nervous about going to this place to have Cataract Surgery. But first step, the consultation was great. Staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions I had. They even offered to show were I would have the operation. Meet the Surgeon Met the surgeon today who was very pleasant guy. Struggled to hear him as he was very softly spoken. Talked through the surgery and was asked if I had any questions. Had to fill in a few forms which I could not see to read them. Surgery Day Waited for a little while for a lens review which was just a chat on what expect when I have surgery and had some drops put in my eye had to sit and wait in the waiting area for the drops to take effect. About 30mins later was called through to a small room were I had more drops in put in my eye and had my blood pressure checked and asked a few questions. Was ask put a lovely fetching white hat on and shoe coverings. Was taken through to the operating theatre were I laid on the table had a cushion placed under my legs to help with back pain. Had my eye cleaned then had a cover placed over my face. Could not see much what was going on the surgeon was great told what was happening and going to happen which was nice. After about 10mins or so the cover was removed from my face and was asked to sit up. Was given a tablet to take to reduce pressure in the eye that makes you pee more. Was taken to the recovery room were I got a coffee and given my medication and was talk through what and when to take. Found out later was slight issue with misprinted information on the medication box and the information sheet you get but the staff were more than happy to help to help. Another issue was we have had no paper work to say what we had paid or what we still owed. So admin could be improved but as for the staff and surgeon I was very impressed with how kind they all were. Sorry for the long review but could find any reviews on the surgery side. So hope this helps anyone else going for cataract surgery
