I recently had my cataract surgery carried out at Stoneygate. (02/02/22). I must say I am very pleased with the outcome. I found the staff very approachable and helpful during the entire process. Right from the initial referral and contact I was made to feel very assured and welcome. This made me feel comfortable and at ease. On the day of the surgery the staff and surgeon made me feel so comfortable and everything went so smoothly with the entire process and I was home within a few hours! I would recommend this hospital. I have had reason to attend this hospital on two occasions and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The service from start to finish is exemplary and very professional , whilst the staff are able to put the patient at ease. Every stage of my treatment was explained thoroughly, and the surgeon talked me through each stage of the procedure as he was doing it. The discharge and follow up care was excellent, and every member of staff were very kind and approachable. It is a small hospital but i would definitely choose it again if the need arises.

I am absolutely blown away with the result of my lens replacement procedure. I have worn glasses every day for 50 years but not any more. To be able to read even the smallest print is amazing. I am very happy to review Stoneygate eye hospital, Leicester, following two visits from the clinic for removal of two cataracts . This is an amazing laser operation, painless, quick and truly eye opening. The staff are very friendly and reassuring , answering all questions and concerns you may have in a very professional, informative manner. My consultant Mr Savant, and nursing staff are excellent and I feel a total different person, after wearing contacts and glasses for over 60 years. Any concerns I had about my lens replacement surgery were dispelled as soon as I walked into reception. All staff were so calming, offering drinks to my wife and I. No time to drink my coffee though, as I was soon called for various procedures prior to the operation. At all stages the staff were friendly, always making sure I was OK. Throughout the laser treatment and final operation I felt very comfortable in the modern operating room, surrounded by lots of modern, hi tech machinery. Again Mr Sampath and his staff made me very comfortable and reassured. Results of the first operation on my right eye are amazing. I have no concerns or hesitation about going ahead with the second. I was extremely worried about having my cataract operation. However, from the minute I entered the Stoneygate Eye Hospital I was met with kindness and reassurance. The Consultant put me at ease before and during the operation, and I had a nurse holding my hand throughout. I wondered why I had been worried in the first place! The Consultant, and all nurses, and staff are wonderful. As I have to have my other eye done at some point, I will definitely be requesting to have it done here - and will know I need not be worried next time as I would be in good hands. I attended the Stoney gate Eye hospital on 17th January 2022. I was very nervous about having cataract surgery but knew it was necessary if I wanted to continue driving my car 🚙. From the moment I walked into the hospital I was put at ease by the wonderful staff and nurses. I was probably in the clinic for about 2 hours but most of the time was spent with the nurses doing eye tests etc and administering eye drops (not painful). I was seen by the surgeon prior to the procedure and he explained what was going to happen during the operation. From there I went down to the theatre and lay on the bed. More eye 👁‍🗨 drops were put in which the surgeon said was anaesthetic. After that I felt nothing other than water running and I heard him say that's the old lens out and a minute or two later he said that's the new lens in. I honestly never felt a thing. And that was it. Now my sight from the eye I had done is amazing and in fact everything was so bright that I had to wear sun glasses for a few days. I would recommend this procedure to anyone and it is absolutely painless. I want my other eye doing now and I wouldn't be worried again. 👁️‍🗨️😊Many thanks to Mr. Sampath and all the staff a the Stoneygate Eye Clinic.

My husband, Peter had a cataract operation at Stoneygate Eye Hospital, Leicester 2 weeks ago. Prior to the operation he received explanatory paperwork regarding the operation and this was followed up by a phone consultation with the Dr who was performing the operation. He arrived at the hospital at the appointed time and everything was so well planned. The staff went through everything that would happen and asked if he had any questions or concerns. No sitting around waiting. I was telephoned approx 1 hour later to tell me that the operation was complete and Peter was ready to be picked up and taken home. He was sent home with eye drops and instructions plus a letter for the opticians who he should see 4-6 weeks post op. 2 weeks post operation he is really pleased with the result of the operation and the service from Stoneygate Eye Hospital.

Following cataract surgery in both eyes, a week apart, with Mr Sampath, I am delighted with the results and impressed with the personal service I received. From the greeting on arrival by the friendly reception staff, carrying out thorough Covid protocols, to the medical staff conducting the tests and procedures, I was made very comfortable in a safe, spotlessly clean environment. I saw Dr Sampath on the 7th of February 2022, i then had anther meeting on the 21st to prepare for surgery . This took place on Friday 25th all went well and came out 2hours later, i had a phone call the next day to make sure all ok ,then returned on the 2rd of March to make sure everything was ok which it was. All i have had to do since them is apply the drops provided i am due my final appointment on the 30th March to make sure all is well and discharged. I was so impressed by the lovely warm response I received from the moment I was met at the door until I got into the tax after the procedure. I was treated like a VIP. Mr Sampath, the surgeon, was amazing to me always checking to see if I was ok and fully explained what he was doing. I was so amazed that the procedure was over in no time and I only felt a minute amount of discomfort. The whole of his team were professional and lovely. one lovely nurse held my hand and reassured me throughout. The whole team worked so well together and I could feel a lovely sense of calm. Having had 3 months of restricted vision I was referred to yourselves. I was nervous about having cataract surgery. Upon my arrival I was greeted by really friendly and helpful staff which put me at my ease. The surgery was not at all painful and took about 15 minutes and my vision is drastically improved. I can give the Eye Hospital a Five Star for Excellence of the Consultant who treated me and also to the staff for the friendly atmosphere , the spotless cleanliness of he rooms and care which was taken. I had no idea that a Cataract Lens could go cloudy and make your vision rather Murky, but a trip to LRI Emergency Eye department I found a needed Laser Treatment to clear my Vision, and the option for early Laser treatment was Stoneygate, which is also very handy to get to. What an example of how things should be in a perfect world, I am a senior citizen and extremely dubious of things like eye surgery in my dotage, I also suffer from a severe breathing disorder, all my fears were dispersed within the first three minutes of entering the hospital ! It may be called a hospital BUT it is more friendly and professional than an "A" graded hotel. The consultancy was pleasant, professional and totally answered all of my worries. The staff who greeted us have to be mentioned so courteous, pleasant to speak to and most helpful in every way possible. The surgery was as explained at the briefing, my wife suffered no pain or discomfort whatsoever, my Wife Joan cannot praise her surgeon Mr. Sampath as anything other than absolutely brilliant. I have had both of my eyes done here now. The most recent being the 5th of July. The staff and consultants are absolutely fantastic here. They really make you feel so relaxed and comfortable being there. Always checking that you're okay. Always a friendly smile when they pass by you. When it comes to the actual surgery they are so attentive and constantly ask if you're okay. The surgeon is fabulous. He has a great sense of humour and made me feel so comfortable. He talked me through the process which I really appreciated. One of the nurses even held my hand for a while and that was so nice. I would Highly recommend this hospital. I recently had cataract surgery at Stoneygate Eye Hospital, with IOLs put in both eyes. My experience with the hospital has been absolutely fantastic. Everyone is a true expert in their field, but just as importantly they consistently demonstrate that they genuinely care about me as a patient. From my very first phone call with Nick, through my multiple appointments, the exceptional reception staff made me feel welcome, well informed and well taken care of. But where the hospital really shines is in the level of technical expertise and access to the latest equipment and procedures. In particular, Mr. Savant is truly brilliant, and his precise and careful management of my condition and the resulting surgery produced simply astounding results. I went in with a cataract in one eye and after two procedures now have better than 20/20 vision in both eyes. I've worn corrective lenses all my life, and now I no longer need them at all!! Having received catarract surgery at the above hospital I must express my overall satisfaction with my short stay I was most impressed with the staggard admission process. Patients were not admitted at the same time but at specific intervals. I was admitted at 10.45 and discharged at 12.15. The whole procedure was quick and efficient. I visited this Eye Hospital after being referred to a corneal specialist by several Ophthalmologists in my home country. I got in contact with Mr. Nick Frith, who scheduled my appointment with Dr. Savant and answered all my questions as it related to cost of the visit and whether the specialist could treat my condition. I received treatment from the team at Stoneygate Eye Hospital with Dr. Vijay Savant being my main specialist. This was by far the most professional service I have ever received in my lifetime. I got all my eye scans and tests done in one location and the fee was already included in the cost of the visit. Dr. Savant was very professional and knowledgeable of my condition and assisted me greatly. He also explained every process he was undertaking and every medication prescribed to me. He was very helpful and answered all the questions I had regarding my condition, which doctors in my country could never answer. I am very satisfied with the level of service and the treatment I received from Stoneygate Eye Hospital and will be visiting again in the future if the need arises.

One might approach eye surgery with trepidation, some perhaps with fear, but my experience at The Stoneygate Eye Hospital was very positive. I attended for cataract surgery on 27 February 2021 and was confident in the Covid19 mitigation measures which were taken.. All the staff at every interaction were helpful and understanding. The various procedures were carefully explained, and during the surgery I experienced only mild discomfort and no pain. I was given very good information prior to, and following, the surgery. I was also reassured to receive a follow up phone call the following business day. I would have no hesitation in returning to Stoneygate Eye Hospital for similar surgery on my other eye.

The surgery went extremely well, and I returned back to the clinic in May to have cataract removal & lens replacement in my Right Eye, balancing up my vision. On visiting my optician I can now confirm that I have 20/20 vision in my right eye, I do not need to wear glasses/contact lenses to assist distance vision & I only have a small prescription for reading. Mr Mokashi was my consultant and the surgeon who preformed both eye operations. He was exceptional & is a lovely man. He explained everything to me both in my original consultations and during the surgery. I understood fully what the operation entailed, and the risks involved. I would certainly recommend him to anyone requiring eye surgery. I recently underwent a cataract procedure at The Stoneygate Eye Hospital. Of course I was a little nervous when I first arrived. However, within a few minutes of 'checking in', meeting the lovely reception staff and being offered a cup of coffee, I soon felt totally at home. Everything that was going to happen to me was explained in detail. I had some drops gently put in my eye, and before long I met the surgeon who was go to operate on me and was escorted to the small theatre where more doctors and nurses greeted me and assisted with the short procedure. Absolutely fascinating. Absolutely brilliant. Going to the hairdresser is a more painful experience. No discomfort at all, and within 15 minutes or so, even with a transparent patch over my 'new' eye, I could see clearly for the first time in ages. Our eyes are so precious, and with such a professional Team of Experts with up-to-date technology at their fingertips looking after my surgical needs, I couldn't have been in better hands. During the Covid-19 pandemic it has been difficult to access health care but this has certainly not been my experience when needing cateract surgery. The NHS contacted me within days to discuss options (NHS clinic or Stoneygate). I opted for the Stoneygate and here I am less than 6 months later having had surgery on both eyes. The whole experience has been fantastic and I don't just mean the result. From the telephone consultations, the contact with the reception staff in advance and on the day, the clinical team and of course the result of seeing clearly it has been fantastic. I was made to feel at ease througout while Covid-19 precautions were taken. My husband dropped me off at the door and waited in the car park for me but was allowed to use the facilities and even got a coffee. If he had needed to get some lunch there is a co op next door but he didn't need to use is as just over an hour later we were on our way back home. I would recommend them and if anyone else is given the option of NHS or Stoneygate I would opt for Stoneygate as contained, no long hospital corridors and clean, efficient and friendly.

I recently had laser (Lasek) eye surgery at the Stoneygate Eye Hospital. I selected the hospital based on a personal recommendation from my mum who had cataract surgery here. From the initial consultation I knew I would be in good hands, Mr Savant and his team were amazing. During my very in-depth consultation that included many tests I was told that I was suitable for the surgery. Mr Savant discussed the different options available to me and I was able to decide what option would be best for me based on the information that I was given. On the day of the surgery yet again I was looked after so well by every member of staff. Everything was explained to me in detail and I had the opportunity to ask any questions. The surgery itself was totally painless and Mr Savant and his team were fantastic and ensured that I was ok the entire time. Before I left everything was explained to me that I would need to do and an appointment was made to be seen the following day to check everything was ok. I can honestly say the pre op, during op and post op care has been top notch. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I can honestly say that the care and treatment that you get here is amazing, they have an amazing group of people working at the hospital (Consultant, doctors, optometrist, nurses, technicians, admin/reception staff) each and everyone that I came across are a credit to the hospital. I personally believe that I 100% selected the right hospital for my surgery.

I found the staff at the stoneygate eye hospital to be very friendly and professional right from my initial consultation all the way throughout my treatment. There was never any pressure to have the treatment. All of the possible risks were clearly explained with booklets given with the available treatments and possible risks. Mr Sampath and his team did a fantastic job, I had laser assisted phacoemulsification with torric lens implant in both eyes. Now after 45 years of wearing glasses I do not need to wear glasses anymore. The aftercare cannot be faulted, a number is given for 24 hour contact in case of any complications, which I did not have to use.

What a great experience , no more need for any glasses and a wrongly diagnosed eye lid issue completely resolved . About eighteen months ago my Gp told me he thought that a growth on my eye lid was excess cholesterol I had no reason to doubt what I had been told. Thank goodness I subsequently went to the Stoneygate eye hospital for eye lens replacement. After a thorough examination they correctly diagnosed what my Gp had previously said was “excess cholesterol “ as skin cancer ! After an operation they completely removed the tumour and after a few months to allow for a full recovery they completed my lens replacement . The cancer has been completely removed and I can now see with my new multi focal lenses as good as I could forty years ago ! I have a small shadow at the extreme of my peripheral vision but have been assured this will continue to fade as the time goes on and my brain fully adjusts to my new lenses.

My experience deserves more than 5 stars. After wearing glasses for over 40 years and varifocals for at least 20 of them years, I had laser assisted refractive lens exchange performed by Mr Sampath. I now do not require glasses at all. It is truly life changing. From booking the consultation, to the welcoming staff and the reassuring words all the way through my operations from Mr Sampath, I would highly recommend this hospital. My father has also had cataract surgery done by Mr Sampath. He was told he could not drive on the Tuesday, had appointment with Mr Sampath on the Wednesday and surgery on the Saturday. He was back driving and wearing no glasses within two weeks. He wants me to say how blown away he is by his care, treatment and the results achieved.

Very professional initial meeting on 12/12/18 with the consultant and his team. I had a multifocal lens and astigmatism correction on 13/12 and second eye lens replacement on 22/12. The procedure was painless and quick. Ive been wearing expensive varifocal glasses for reading and driving for over 20 years. My vision is now transformed, thanks to Mr Sampath. I can read, drive and watch tv without glasses. Furthermore, the cost of intra-ocular lens replacement will ultimately save me money over the cost of regularly replacing broken varifocal spectacles.
