I had my original consultation for laser eye surgery in the chester branch which has some fantastic staff who were very helpful & so friendly then I had my surgery in Liverpool. I was only there about an hour an half in total but was given lots of information regarding what would happen, the outcome & possible after affects so I could make the right decision for me. Within 24hrs of having i-lasik I had better than 20/20 vision with my original prescription being -5.5 in both eyes. It's amazing, it feels life changing for me, yes it's not cheap but the results were worth it for the peace of mind that you are getting a truely professional service & a guarantee of continued after care. I wish I'd had the surgery years ago!

This was the best decision I have ever made. I have worn glasses of a very strong prescription since I was 2yrs old (nearly 50 years}. Lock-down computer screen work led to visual stress, meaning my sight deteriorated badly and I struggled to see any detail at a distance. I now have better than 20:20 vision - only needing a small prescription easy reader for very small print or close work. The difference is life-changing. The operation was no problem. Before, during and after, the care has been fabulous. I would recommend this to anyone and have already told just about everyone I know.

I went for an eye test today, 24th May 2021. As usual, Optical Express went above and beyond in terms of both medical and technical aspects. They were very thorough and efficient. The frames available for people on low incomes and or benefits are still stylish and there is a decent range to choose from. I found a nice frame design and for £12.00 you can have UV protection on the lenses. I am a revisiting customer and I shall continue to put my eye care in the hands of Optical Express. I would definitely recommend this company.

I had my laser eye surgery yesterday. The procedure was quick, there was discomfort afterwards however my surgery was at the end of the day so I just went home and slept it off. Woke up today with slightly swollen eyes which is normal for some people but I actually have better than 20/20 vision which is amazing! I've had to wear glasses full-time for nearly 10 years now and I decided to get LASIK just over a month ago. Within a month I went from not having the consultation to actually having the surgery. Throughout the whole process, from consultation to surgery, the staff were so polite and answered any query I had regarding the surgery & recovery after the surgery. The surgery was over within 5-10 minutes and the staff asked me what music I liked and played it for me. The first few hours after the surgery was uncomfortable, but it's been nearly 2 weeks now and I can't remember life before glasses. It's been a massively life changing experience and it's definitely been worth the price. Obviously there are risks with any surgery, but for me personally, it's been amazing from start to finish.

Had LASIK done here last month. Didn't feel pushed into having it and was offered alternatives. Side effects and risks were explained to me. The service has been amazing. Staff are all lovely very polite and helpful. The LASIK itself wasn't that bad I was very anxious but the staff made me feel at ease. i had been thinking about getting laser eye surgery for the past 10 years, always a bit weary about how intrusive the surgery is, what the after care would be like, the chance of anything going wrong etc etc. must have broken a hundred pairs of glasses over the years. i couldn't use contact lenses. All i can say i massively regret waiting so long to go through with it. the procedure itself isn't pleasant i wont lie, but it takes a matter of a couple of minutes. it's not painful at all, just feels weird. i'ts 100% worth it to get your sight back. the staff are all extremely experienced, knowledgeable, friendly, and understand their duty of care. its been over 3 months since i had my surgery, had 3 post opp appointments which are quick, but thorough, and i can't thank sue and her team enough. my eye-sight is better than 20/20, it's actually funny thinking about how i used to get on, squinting at everything and everyone! if you're unsure, just book a consultation, you won't regret it

My eye surgery was a LASIK surgery. Really Great service from the team I got to meet. Every question I had was answered honestly which made me feel more comfortable and confident the surgery was right for me to improve my lifestyle. The surgery itself was way quicker than I imagined. No pain at all. A little discomfort from the machine to help keep the eye stay straight and unable to blink but well over 100% worth it. My wife had Natural Lens Replacement surgery in December 2018. To date her distance vision is not at an acceptable level yet, her near vision is excellent. The after care has been thorough with extra appointments in Liverpool to monitor progress. My husband had lens replacement surgery in March (2019) and had a great experience from original consult to aftercare, and although very expensive, as my eyesight was worse I decided to also book the surgery. The consult at OE in Liverpool One was all good and date arranged, then the confusion started. You get many emails and letters confirming the same stuff, dates location, surgeon etc and eventually just file them BUT on one letter I noticed the date and location of my surgery had changed without consulting me. I almost didn’t notice this as it was a standard letter and did not state “changes made” or similar to get my attention. I was very concerned about the way this was handled. The clinic staff at Manchester were very good and helpful as were the staff at Liverpool one when I queried this. The original clinic (St John’s Rd) was closing and moving to another location (Bridgewater) no one had mentioned this before. What lets the whole process down is the Glasgow call centre who repeatedly contacted me quoting wrong dates and times, never called me back when they promised to and I was speaking to a different person each time rather than one contact, this misinformation made me feel very nervous. My husband had one contact at the call centre and had he not had such a great experience just 8 weeks previously I would definitely have cancelled the procedure. I seriously considered doing so. The main difference seems to be that I had already signed up and paid the deposit at the initial consult, where as my husband went away and thought about it for a few weeks. The calls he received were always from the same person and were informative and helpful but not pushy. In comparison my experience with Glasgow was awful, I just felt because they already had my commitment and money they weren’t as bothered about my concerns . We spent almost £13k in 2 months but I didn’t really feel they valued this spend. The surgery itself went very well and I am glad I had it done as my eyesight is considerably better. The procedure is not painful and the staff at Manchester put you at ease on the day. I would definitely recommend the surgery but something needs to be done about the contact centre as whilst I was waiting for my surgery, talking to other patients, they also had the same issue with Glasgow. That is why I only gave 4 stars.

It’s 4 months now since I had my lens replacement surgery and 2 months since my husband had his. We can honestly say it was the best decision we have ever made, neither of us need glasses and we have better than 20/20 vision. I would recommend it to anybody thinking of having this procedure. Nothing was too much trouble from appointment making to ringing up and answering any questions we did have, they are very knowledgeable. Optical Express are excellent from initial consultation all the way through to surgery. Mr Kazmi and his team were incredibly knowledgeable and efficient on surgery day, and really put me at ease, despite me being nervous during the procedure. I really did feel like I was in safe hands! So far, just 2 days after my LASIK iDesign procedure, I have excellent (better than 20/20) vision, confirmed on my 24 hour checkup and will return for another 3-day checkup to confirm this. The recovery wasn't overly painful and was made better as I had improved vision immediately after the surgery, with it getting better every hour throughout the day! Overnight, my vision became excellent and I woke up in a completely different world! Although the procedure was like nothing I had ever experienced, I am very glad to have done it and think it was well worth it so far! The only negative I would add is that they do try to push sales just a little bit too hard - it felt a bit like a used car sale after my consultation. I imagine this is something from head office, rather than just the Liverpool store, however. My advice to patients for this would be to relax and take as much time as you need to decide whether you'd like to go ahead with the procedure - but rest assured that once the surgery is booked, the service is exactly as you'd want it to be, with excellent aftercare too!

I had my lasik eye surgery yesterday. The entire team was so supportive from the moment our car broke down to my arrival. They accomodated the fact that I was almost an hour late for my appointment. Everyone was so welcoming and polite. The surgeron -Waseem- was absolutely amazing. He made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I knew i was in safe hands. The procedure took less than 20 minutes - little discomfort but not pain. Drive home was teary...it was as though i had chopped onions but bearable. Vision instantly improved although bit blurry as the healing is still happening. Have my post op appointment today so should know more about it. So far very pleased. The eye test was free. The optician was thorough and very clearly explained answers to my questions. The sales staff were very pleasant and helpful. I was expecting a hard sell to get glasses or a change of prescription. I was surprised that wasn't the case they confirmed no change and didn't apply any pressure to buy glasses. After growing tired of wearing glasses for a year I decided to invest in having laser eye surgery to restore my vision. I opted for the Lasik iDesign procedure and was booked in very quickly at the Liverpool branch. All the staff are very polite and helpful. Talking you through each step of the process and taking very good care of you. The surgery itself takes no longer than 10 minutes and is completely pain free. You really do notice a difference at the end of the surgery as your vision goes really sharp and HD. In the chair for about 10 minutes in total. It's like watching a cool blurry psychedelic light show. Numbing drops worked like a charm. Didn't feel a thing and I actually quite enjoyed it to be honest. I noticed improved vision straight away but still a bit blurry. This should improve over the next few days. Eyes are quite light-sensitive at first too so I'm wearing sunglasses everywhere like I'm part of the Blues Brothers! Both eyes are still a bit red around some areas but told this is normal and should heal very quickly. Also been given 3 types of drops to take 4 times a day for the first week. A big thank you to my surgeon Dr Muhammad Kazmi. He makes you feel at ease and has done over 50000 eye surgeries. What a legend! Another big thank you to Danielle and Charlotte for their fantastic support and friendly service along the way. Always very welcoming with a big smile on their faces and very informative from the initial consultation right through to the post-op. They both deserve a Nando's voucher!

I had iDesign iLasik laser eye surgery on 9th November 2017 at the Liverpool One Optical Express. It was a smooth and pleasant experience with a life changing outcome. I used to struggle daily with contact lenses, glasses and dry eyes as a result of the contact lenses, the surgery has given me better than 20/20 vision and it still blows me away to look over distances with such crystal clear vision, it's like my eyesight has gone from very poor to 4K high definition. However the standout part of this experience was the staff, I visited three times for eye tests, quoting and consulting with the surgeon. Each time we were greeted with smiling faces and a great atmosphere, especially Jamie, who was warm and welcoming at all times, he was the perfect mix of humour, professionalism and compassion. We also spent some time with Callum who was knowledgeable and friendly. My eye tests were done by optician Charlotte, who also was very warm, intelligent and thorough, making me aware of all possibilities with the surgery, but her confidence in the process in turn filled me with confidence in Optical Express. Before my surgery we were looked after by Alex in the surgery suite upstairs, she was clear on what I should expect from the surgery and she was great fun too, having a laugh with my mum who accompanied me. My surgeon was Mr Kazmi who I consulted with over the phone a week prior to the surgery and again in person before going ahead, he was patient and concise, I knew I was in safe hands with him. We could tell from all visits that this must be an exceptional place to work, as everyone was like a happy family who knew their jobs to perfection and always had their customers satisfaction at the forefront of their minds. The surgery was over in a matter of minutes, my eyesight was perfect the following day and my recovery in the following weeks went without a hitch, it's almost 3 months on now and I haven't looked back. A gentleman greeted us upon entry asking if he can be of help. When I presented the flattened sunglasses he expression was 'Ohhhh', nonetheless he offered to give it a try. I had my Idesign surgery on Saturday 21st January and wanted to leave a review for anyone thinking of getting laser eye surgery. I would definitely recommend it. Only two days later and I now have clearer vision than I did using my contact lenses previously. Apart from an uncomfortable afternoon after surgery where my eyes felt like raw onions had been rubbed on them, I felt great later that evening, even better the day after. Customer service was great, everyone really helpful and it is the best thing I have done. I was short sighted before and was worried what level of reading glasses I might need afterwards (this is due to my short sighted prescription so not the same for everyone but as far as I was concerned small price to pay for perfect distance vision). Turns out I do not need readers! I am deighted so soon after surgery that my vision has improved so dramatically and there is still time for more improvement!

Through standard LASIK eye surgery on both eyes I now have dramatically improved distance vision, well worth the money as it completely eradicates the need for glasses. The service is very friendly and professional even in times where I was a pain in the backside and changing my mind over treatment. If I was to temper the positive review with minor criticism I would say that different stages of the service are a little contradictory which led to my uncertainty. In effect, from the outset the sales professionals are bigging up the surgery so you pay a £500 deposit which after a cooling off period you can't get back. You then meet the surgeon for a final consent discussion where you get a more reasoned pragmatic voice telling of the potential risk of side effects. In effect the non-refundable deposit is probably the only reason I saw it through but I'm so glad I did. They pretty much hard sold me into making the best decision of my life so despite the fears I had, I'm glad they did and wish I had done it a long time ago.
