Love, love, love Adam Simmonds (Optometrist 87 Regent’s Park Road, Primrose Hill). I’ve been a loyal customer since 2013. He and his team are passionate about what they do, it’s obvious. They go above and beyond and always give me their time, honest opinion and excellent customer service. Today I purchased another pair of frames (Lapima) from Adam Simmonds, which I just adore! If you desire luxurious designer frames whether bold/statement or something more subtle, go and see Adam Simmonds and his fabulous team.

I f-ing love my new contact lenses. Adam is terrific. You can tell he genuinely cares about the health of his patients' eyes, versus just getting you a prescription and sending you on your way. I discovered Adam Simmonds completely by fluke. I’d been wanting to purchase some cool looking glasses and I wasn’t finding what I wanted in the usual high street stores. By chance I passed Adam Simmonds windows and saw a selection of interesting glasses and wandered inside. Best decision I’ve done for my eye sight. I’ve since purchased a pair of Theo frames that I’m very happy with, while also having very thorough eye tests. Adam has managed to improve my eyesight that I didn’t think was possible - I’ve a stigmatism that means I can’t get normal lenses. The frames are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. If you want individuality and character definitely check them out. If like me you only buy glasses once in a long while, a pair of glasses is a hard decision to make - it’s more than just seeing correctly. It’s your personality on show too. The staff at Adam Simmonds know their stuff. I’m terrible with too much choice, but the ladies helped the decision making process feel comfortable and easy. Definitely a place I’ll visit again in the future.

What a great team! I’m located in California so most of our communication was via email but they truly provided excellent customer service. I was searching for a specific pair of frames and they communicated regularly, provided pictures and very quickly shipped them to me in the US. Bloody love Adam and Immy, Immy just that just a little bit more. They are a fab team. I have been getting my eyes tested for many (too many to remember) years by Adam, I find his straightforward and honest approach a joy. Immy gives fab advice on frames and has the patience of a saint when I spend at least an hour choosing glasses from their amazing and unique range. I have an Adam Simmonds addiction, not him (obvs!) but his choice of glasses. Can’t recommend enough, great, honest and brilliant service. It is worth mentioning they have the most beautiful range of sunglasses too.

Adam Simmonds quite simply is London's finest optometrist. I grew up walking into lampposts as a child with one eye being long-sighted and the other being short-sighted, and when I was younger I just accepted that hand-eye coordination will never really be a strength. Yet ever since I met Adam, I have experienced marked improvements over the years. His technical proficiency is exceptional and the quality of service is consistently impeccable. It's always an enjoyable experience heading down to Primrose Hill. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The range of eyewear is extensive and actually appealing - which isn't always the case elsewhere! If on the off chance you can't find what you're looking for (for instance, a particular colour for a hard to find frame) the team are very accommodating, and will endeavour to track down your request. It's a shame that Adam is a Spurs fan, that's about the only negative I can say about this remarkable man and his talent for helping people see clearly (which we all take for granted)! Adam Simmonds what a find!!! Up until recently, my opticians were a well known large chain. For years every time I had to get new frames and lenses to be honest was always a long drawn out painful process. I went to Adam Simmonds at the recommendation of my sister in law after I had told her of yet another failed attempt at finding frames I liked that suited my complex prescription. As soon as I walked in they were immediately attentive and friendly. They asked just a few questions about type of frames I was looking for, then suggested that I have contact lenses put in temporarily to help me try on the new frames - Adam was v helpful in placing the contacts in and it took no time before I was back with Immy and she had already selected a handful of frames for me to try. This was a new concept to me as I had always been told historically “to go and choose my frames” with no guidance or help. Immy cut down a lot of the stress by choosing for me and she picked frames that suited my colouring, style, face shape and the limited bridge on my nose! Second pair I tried on, I had the biggest grin on my face - I had found my new glasses 🤓. The technology Immy used to measure and get the right spots for the varifocals meant again it was a painless and enjoyable experience. The glasses were ready in just over a week (at the big chain it used to take 4-6 weeks for my glasses to be made!). I cannot recommend Adam and his team enough and this will be my go to place for years to come. Thank you for making such a happy experience for me.

I have accidentally snatched my glasses and Adam Simmonds was one of the very few opticians in London that was reselling the brand. The team was incredibly helpful and ordered a new front for me. I love this shop! Been going there since 2005. The owner Adam has great taste and style and I can always count on some witty repartee whenever I visit. And he handles my complex prescriptions without even a blink. (well, maybe a small sigh) I am a film editor and I have 5 pairs of glasses.. Driving, TV, phone, editing, sewing and they are all bifocals with different combinations of the above. Most optometrists would hide as soon as they saw me coming. Not Adam. Hes the best!

I had been suffering with dry eyes for about a year and a half – I’d been to several places – my doctor, 2 x eye clinics and even to Moorfields. I was basically told I had to deal with it. I did some research and found Adam. He understood my situation and what I was going through and I had 4 x treatments of IPL. These treatments have helped me so much, my eyes feel so much better and I’m now able to wear my contact lenses again for a few hours a day. Adam also recommended the best eye drops I’ve ever used as well as eye lid hydration wipes that really help the condition. It’s been a great experience for me. Thank you Adam!

The search for the best optician in the whole wide world is over - it is Adam Simmonds. The service at AS is second to none. After a very thorough and exact eye test it was time to select frames. I broke the arm of my glasses. Nothing is easy in this C-19 environment and made no easier by the fact that they are manufactured in France. But the re-order of the arm was made swiftly and when the arm was slightly less than swift in appearing, Adam did his best to speed things up. And then opened up the shop to use the proper instruments to fit the new arm. Honestly Adam, I'd have managed - a little screwdriver and a quick dab of superglue - can it be that difficult? Probably the answer is yes, and I'm very grateful for the above and beyond service.

Many inhabitants of Primrose Hill feel that its village atmosphere has been lost. However, there is one business that combines the latest technology of the modern era with the warmth and friendliness that you would expect in a village. One does not visit an optician very often - but I find it extraordinary that I can go in after an interval of months or years and be greeted by name. Adam is a star with the computerised equipment that enables you to be shown parts of the eye that you did not realise could even be checked. He is always spot on and ethical in advising whether a changed prescription would or would not be of benefit. Immy not only shows endless patience in choosing the right frames, but has the well-practised eye for helping each customer to find the frames that would suit them. And in between she does running repairs on frames that need a little TLC. At the risk of sounding gushy, you walk away with glasses that work, feeling that even if you are not their only customer, you are certainly the most important one.

I couple of months ago I learned an expensive lesson! I was away from london and had lost my glasses that Adam had done me. I really needed some g for driving so went to a reputable optician that had been recommended to me, got my eyes tested and got some glasses but each time I wore them I felt a bit spaced out and off balance! I thought the hi tech machines read my eyes and told the optician what was needed, I had no idea how the optician read me and my eyes and then decided which direction and how much help was healthy for my eyes. On getting back home I went straight to Adam and explained and that’s exactly what he did tested my eyes, read the help he felt I needed and did me a new pair of glasses which Im back to comfortable wearing. Lesson learnt, Adam Simmonds is a great optician with the skill of knowing when you are comfortable and happy with the direction he has taken you in. People that are great at their job have a passion and interest in what they are doing and are constantly looking for improvement in their field, it’s never just texted book! I am almost certain that i qualify as Adam’s longest-standing (but definitely not oldest) client. Back in the Soho of the mid-80s, Adam’s Eye Tech was without doubt the coolest eye place in the Land. And the impeccable service and attention to detail has not let up, even though the decade have passed that have made us, ahem, more mature. I have the distinction of having introduced Adam to Oliver Peoples and, thus, of introducing that game-changing brand to the UK. That was easy, ihad seen them in my native Sitzerland, where i bought my first clips-and-all pair. The credit for entrepreneurship in building a mega presence for OP goes to ADam, and he has not stopped innovating, and seeking out fresh trends and brands, since. That’s why today his space in Pretty Primrose Hill has undoubtedly the most original selection of frames - from statement pieces to no-statement minimals - in this, Europe’s fashion capital. One of the very few to stock limited edition Jacque Marie Mage (I, peronalluy, am khalishing the Yves model), Adam Simmonds has stock that adapts and keeps shaping new looks, and it’s hard not to find a frame that fits. That's the hardware. The software, i.e. the optical science, up to d`ate tech, analysis, the testing and the inference are superb. Adam has discovered tiny alterations in my sight that have identified causes of ailments that weren’t even optical in nature. He has also produced the solution to them. Like a revealing health check. The team - lead by the authoritative and rakeish Rush, the capable and impressive Immie, and too rarely the beauteous Ms Juliet Simmonds - is super-knowledgeable and will really help a glasses-obsessed lense-swapper like me: often flipping lenses and frames (of which i have many), even to the point of distraction, even for items i haven’t bought there, free of charge. Plus they figure out complicated screws, metal and techy bits too. Plus, Adam is mellowing with the advancing years, though his caustic repartee remains as sharp as ever.

Great store with a good collection of sunglasses. The service is also superb. I accidentally bent one of the arms of my sunglasses a year after I bought them. I brought them in a and they fixed it for free and shipped it to my place at no cost. Thanks for your help and great customer service!
