M.As someone with a painful eye condition that is hard to manage, I have seen a number of optometrists here in London and quite a few ophthalmologists, including some eminent ones in France and Japan.
Nicola Wood was the first to be able to pinpoint the root of the problem, and went the extra mile to find a solution, patiently answering all my questions.
Caroline Hodd knows everything there is to know about medical contact lenses and is a person of real integrity.
I have seen all 3 optometrists here, and can attest not only to their clinical knowledge which is exceptional, but also to their professionalism and empathy, a rare combination.
If you need to see an optometrist I highly recommend this place, they are the best.

So things are pretty normal ..you arrive, the office where yiu usually order solutions, etc is indeed a spacious waiting room (no mags but smart hand sanitiser) and you are temperature checked on the way in. You need to wear a mask, btw..,so I wore one of my new smart ones as I came by train 😊
I saw Caroline, who came down to collect me wearing a clear visor, scrubs, gloves and an apron. Nothing more ..no sci fi kit here ! The exam went just as normal, I had my usual slew of various tests designed to try the patience of the saintly Iulia, a quick discussion, ordered some more lenses, got my specs tweaked by Jovi, paid my annual dibs ( this appointment was due as we went into lockdown) and off I went. So masks and gloves on the staff were the major differences of note. It is still the same efficient and fantastic practice. Go see them with no fears if you are due an appointment. Thanks to everyone, btw !
S. K.Best optometry I have ever visited. Very professional, kind and highly specialized staff. The service is exceptional. I'm not sure if I can ever go anywhere else. I am getting custom lenses for my eye glasses and fitted for contacts. Their selection of frames are also very special and beautiful.

J. P.This was my first trip to an opticians that isn't Boots or Specsavers and WOW! I saw Dr Caroline Hodd who was professional and welcoming. After having my prescription checked, I was sent into a room with an array of very high-tech looking machines that took various scans/pictures of my eyes. Caroline patiently went through and explained each test that I had undergone in great detail. I was then accompanied down and introduced to the dispensers to choose some new glasses. All in all I couldn't be more impressed. I left feeling extremely re-assured and even the spectacles that were made seem better vision that ever before! Beautiful building, friendly professional staff and great service!
A. M.Have only just returned from visiting this historical building today and was really astounded by the service. My optician was Connan Tam who showed real sensitivity to the particulars of my case. They have many great machines within the space but i think i was most happy with how i was welcomed. While being in the centre of london it is rare to come across such friendly people.
This was added to when i was choosing my frames. I have worn glasses for many years but the one to one service by eliane was quite superlative. Her eye for fashion and style is quite amazing and i am over the moon with my glasses.

B. H.If you are very particular about getting your eyes spot on, this is the place. It's not a cheap High Street experience, but when you're told to get yourself down to A&E on the hurry-up for emergency laser surgery because bi-lateral retinal tears have been discovered, it suddenly becomes amazing value.
The exam room is like the bridge on the Starship Enterprise. Pretty much every machine known to optical science. In fact, these guys had more equipment than the hospital!
Cool team in dispensing as well. Down-the-line adjustments of your designer frames come as standard.
Not that I use lenses, but I'm given to understand that these boys are top line contact lens practioners. They manufacture many of their own and additionally for other opticians across he UK.
R. V.Have been a customer for over ten years. I am strongly myopic, so have specific needs and the practice has been meeting them exceptionally well. Everyone I have dealt with has been professional, attentive, and going an extra mile to make me happy. Not cheap, but gets a big Thumbs Up from me nonetheless.
