Absolutely fantastic experience. Jeanne is friendly and accommodating, even amidst the extra work needed to manage the restrictions in place. The optometrist was very good - spotted something that 3 other optometrists had not commented on - and the service was second to none. I found the store through a recommendation and have no hesitation in passing on the recommendation - in a day of impersonal optometrists where you never see the same person twice, this shop is a return to solid values and personal service. And if you are specific about your sunglasses, the shop carries the Tavat range, which you have to try to see the difference it makes in terms of clarity.

Highly recommended. This is a beautiful, high end optician with a wide range of quality glasses and lenses. The eye test was done using modern equipments. Jeanne, the owner, is professional, friendly and incredibly patient. She allowed me to take my time trying out the various models and helped me chose the best suited frame. I highly recommend a visit to Eyes on the Common! I was greeted by the lovely Jeanne who helped me chose a lovely pair of Tavat sunglasses. Jeanne was patient and kind. I did not feel pressured into buying anything as I had in other larger optitions. They have a lovely selection of both luxury and affordable glasses all brilliant quality! I called into Eyes on the Common looking for an eye test. I was warmly welcomed and a thorough professional examination was organised for a couple of days later. Thankfully my eyesight had improved and contact lenses were suggested by the owner, Jeanne Waas. I would add that there is also an extensive range of exclusive eyewear on offer and thankfully not the same as you see at other high street opticians. Suffice to say, I stuck with the idea of contact lenses and have trialled all sorts from daily disposal to monthly permanent wear. I have now settled with weekly disposable and Eye on the Common have ensured they are the best for my needs. Complete professionalism, infinite patience and charming people. I am delighted. Highly recommended.

I am so grateful to Jeanne Waas for her attention to detail and skill. I had been managing with dodgy reading glasses from Am***n for years but was getting increasingly fed up with needing pairs for, close up, distance, sunglasses, reading sunglasses etc ......I literally had a pair for every occasion. Anyway the optician did the most accurate eye test I've ever had and then Jeanne use a computer simulator or something to get exactly the right progressive lenses and they arrived in days. Wayhay they are amazing. I now need to find some charity to send this box of old ones to as I have just one pair f beautiful glasses. I can read, use a computer, watch TV and see in the distance with no trouble and even better they change colour outside so I don't need sunglasses. This has changed my life and made getting older just that little bit more bearable. Thanks Jeanne you are a legend in eye care.
