Very professional and helpful staff. Eye test was simple and the optician was very clear with what she was doing and communicated well what I needed. Steve helped me choose my glasses and he was really great at choosing the ones that suited me best. He was completely honest and didn’t push me to spend more money than I wanted to…even working out how much things would cost so I could make informed decisions about what I wanted for my glasses. I felt completely at ease and had a laugh too! Everyone was super lovely and their covid procedures were extremely reassuring. Thank you very much! A pleasant morning for sure!

Fantastic service.. optician friendly and very proficient..l purchased some varifocal glasses which were on special offer..l have never worn varifocals and the assistant explained to me how they worked...she was extremely helpful and polite..added bonus l did not have to pay extorsonate price for my new glasses..very surprised!!..would defffinately recommend vision express to anyone wanting to purchase new glasses.

My first time in Vision Express and it was fantastic. I met Marissa who was so friendly and helpful, she advised me on buying some new black glasses. We had a lovely chat and a laugh which was refreshing, i felt so at ease. A young man called Mark was training, he was very attentive and friendly. I hope he gets the chance to join your excellent team at Newcastle.

I was assisted by a lady called Amanda who was friendly and helpful. There was another woman who approached me in store as well who appeared to be a supervisor. She was abrupt and surly. When I was first looking at frames after my eye test she approached and told me I would need vari focals. I pointed out I was only in need of reading glasses. She snatched my prescription from the tray and walked away. She then returned and told me someone had given me the wrong prescription znd it was not her fault. I have no where she got the vari focal idea from as she hadn't even looked at prescription at that point. She later hovered over Amanda while she was taking my details of frame choice. She was abrupt towards her making her nervous and unsure it seemed. She then started talking about how I needed blue anti glare coating. I said I did not want that so she abruptly repeated " you need the green coating that's what you need that's what you need ". I felt a bit pressured and agreed. Later at home I looked at my receipt and decided to ring the customer service number to remove the anti glare coating and I felt a bit resentful that I had allowed myself to be bullied into agreeing to it initially. I am not sure I will be using vision express in future and I do not feel that I could recommend them to others.

I was well pleased with the treatment I received at Vision Express, starting with the eye examination I received from William Moore I have been having my eyes tested by William for a lot of years, myself and my partner have followed him wherever he has been working. After my test he passed me on to Toni a very pleasant young lady who helped me choose my two pairs of glasses, very professional, it hardly took her any time at all, with in trying only half a dozen pairs we both agreed on the two pairs I choose. Toni certainly knows her job and you can tell she loves her job. Toni also had time to explain and help a new staff trainee called Lisa who also was a very pleasant and friendly young lady. If the glasses are made to the same standard I will be well pleased. Regards Melvyn.

I have already reviewed Vision Express Newcastle on Trust Pilot but the staff definitely deserve another shout. My experience has been a massive positive on both visits. The staff are totally customer focused, they have given me advice based on their knowledge, have explained the procedures fully and they were so attentive when I had to have my glasses altered, the staff I have had contact with were Sandra C and Toni both and I think the members of staff deserve to be praised for their commitment in customer service and friendliness to the customer. I've used Vision Express for at least the last ten years because of the consistently great service they provide. I have tried other opticians every now and then when they have deals on or if I can't get an appointment at Vision Express but always regret it. The people who carry out the eye tests at Vision Express are always very friendly and knowledgeable and spend plenty of time with you explaining what they are doing and going through the results of their tests. The dispensing staff are equally helpful when it comes to choosing from their wide range of designer and budget frames and lenses, which usually has a "buy one, get one half price" offer on. It's a shame they no longer make the lenses on-site within 24 hours but it's never usually a long wait for my glasses to be ready. I couldn't recommend any other optician and don't think I'd ever try anywhere else after several bad experiences with other high street brands and independent shops.

Wonderful service. Was seen on time at the store. No waiting around. Social distancing and hygiene was all first class. The optician was extremely thorough, pleasant and explained everything then a new prescription was issued. Staff were very helpful and professional. I’m definitely recommend going to VisionExpress. I had an appointment to see if Ian suitable for contact lenses. The optician was very good and the lady who showed me very patiently how to use them. I’m thrilled to bits and wish I had tried them before.

The best opticians to go to. I work with 2 screens and had issues with my eyes back in November 2020. They gave me a lot of attention and found the root cause and sent me to the nearby NHS Eye Clinic. Also got a prescription for new lenses from Vision Express and issues were sorted as well. I have been back to Vision Express in Eldon Square just after 8 months as I was getting headaches. The staff are always helpful and dedicate attention to your needs. The optician spent more time than the appointment was booked for as they always ensure they do the right thing. Double checked everything and found out needed new prescription again and gave me some helpful tips to help my eyes feel less strained from working from home. The service afterwards is also fantastic when you have to choose any frames or just want to re-glaze previous frames. I just know with this place I am going to get the best treatment as what is more important than your eyes.

I just wanted to review our recent visit to vision express Eldon Square. From the initial eye exam to the eye test from the optometrist the staff at the store were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. A special mention has to be given to Eleni for her exceptionally hard work ensuring that we had the correct frames and lenses. I have a high prescription which unfortunately limits the number of frames that I can purchase. Eleni was very friendly and knowledgeable and went the extra mile to ensure that we left the store very happy customers. Can't recommend the store enough.

Very friendly, helpful and professional staff. I have been to an opticians that told me I needed glasses in the early 2000s. I went to Vision Express who told me they weren't necessary saving me 100s of pounds in prescriptions/frames. They also spotted a slightly detached retina in my sons eye that they are now keeping tabs on. I don't normally do 5 stars but I have yet to find anything I can find to remove a star.

The lass that served me certainly knew her stuff and was very professional and competent.. slight hiccup when I initially phoned to price lenses I was quoted 50 pounds.. in shop they were 70 pounds.. But the girl in shop that dealt with me made up for the extra👍

Excellent service and attention. Looked into my problem with my eyes and noticed I had ‘dry eye syndrome’ and supplied me with a fluid to put drops into my eyes. On my first use my eyesight changed completely, could not believe it. It need s to be used regularly until my eyesight is back to how it usually is but at least it’s got me away from all the worrying I was going through. Brilliant

Screw came lose on my glasses and the arm fell off. Turned up unannounced and Helen (apologies if I have your name wrong!) was very helpful. She took my glasses, fixed the arm so I was not without my glasses. Nothing was charged, just felt like she genuinely wanted to help. Great customer aftercare. Fantastic experience - would like to individually thank my optician Shadiyah and associate Tracey. My first ever eye test and a warm experience from start to end. All my needs were professionally met from assessment, advice, discussion of ongoing offers and even a (requested) opinion choosing fantastic frames. From start to end, it took 2 hours and I left having ordered two pairs of glasses I love and felt in no way coerced. Couldn’t sing their praises enough. Thank you very much!

I have used this store many times now after bad customer service with another company. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the experience is very good. Previously I had the other company prescribe 3 pairs of glasses, and after my first visit hete they said I only needed 2 pairs. This was a great saving and I have found them to be honest. I received help choosing frames and they were really helpful and did not push you to spend more than you wanted. You can drop in and get adjustments done and they givve your glasses a good clean. I fully recommend this store. I have also bought sunglasses here based on my previous experience.

Fab service when we called in last Wednesday. The store is just inside the Northumberland street entrance on the right. Rebecca was very helpful indeed and helped us identify which glasses would be good for our child. Lots of children’s glasses to choose from, many more than our local branch. Good COVID measures too distancing and limiting numbers, etc. Seems to be a bit of a difference in approach depending on the day or person maybe? To explain, on Wednesday we waited until store numbers reduced to be admitted. On Saturday when we returned with the child someone attempted to stop our visit by saying we didn’t have an appointment, despite having arranged to come back when there on Wednesday. It’s this kind of inconsistency and slight variation that annoys customers. Please have one rule set. I haven’t marked the store down for this as Rebecca was great and it would be unfair reflection on her.
